“Sinéad O'Connor was a sweet, wonderful woman. She came up and said hello to me. We sat in the sun, drank Pepsi-Cola, and told each other secrets. We talked a lot about her childhood and Kurt's childhood and all sorts of childhoods. She takes in the world with huge luminous eyes, the type you rarely see, utterly lunar, laser beams to Ork.
Sinead and I would stay up all night in the bus watching really depressing movies. We watched Ryan's Daughter and two different adaptations of Wuthering Heights. She told me about Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw being sexually abused. When we were in Chicago she bought me a beautiful book that I really needed, and then she went down to her room, and when she was all alone she ran away to the airport.
She was pregnant, it was quite hot, and she was depressed. In her note that she left she said, "They can sue me. I don't care. I'II find another line of work," which I thought had a lot of integrity to it, to be honest.
I missed Sinéad.”
Courtney on touring with Sinead in July 1995. Written in 1995. Sinead told festival founder Perry Farrell that the reason she joined Lollapalooza was because of Hole and Courtney. Rest in power you beautiful human.

"A new day will follow // There's always tomorrow."
After 7 gruelling years, having finished university and sitting right up at the back of the Circle, I am pleased to be seeing the Groundhog Day Musical at the Old Vic this week.
It was a musical close to my heart, having dealt with alot of existential crisis now, and I am so happy that it came at the right time.

May 30, 1966 - Jane Asher captured at the Bristol Old Vic trip to Universal Studios. Shared by actress Judy Matheson, who was in the same stage company through her twitter account.
Jane’s outfit, I believe was one of the many we can say were her favourite to wear because she wore this several times during the 60s, from 1965 to 1968. It has been shared on exhibitions too, a design of the wonderful Mary Quant whom has just passed away. May she rest in peace and her impact continues to create history and more inspiration within the years. 🤍✨

I know the little rodent was in the audience (as a party-crasher, not a ticket-holder), but the thought of Eve being halfway through her death scene (which was incredibly intense, according to reviews), seeing a teeny mouse scurry across the stage in front of her, and THEN struggling to contain herself while continuing to “die” is sending me 😂😂😂😭 Because she loves small furry creatures (including but not limited to bumble bees)

Of the numerous showbiz myths that have attached themselves to Judi Dench, the most improbable is surely the account of when, as a young actor, she played the title role in Franco Zeffirelli’s production of Romeo and Juliet at the Old Vic. Legend has it when her parents came to see the play, her line “Where is my father and mother, nurse?” prompted her proud father to call out “Here we are darling, in Row H.” One of the many delights of this new book chronicling Dench’s lifelong love affair with Shakespeare is to learn that it actually occurred. “No one ever believes me when I tell that story, but I swear to God it’s true,” she says.
