i always assumed that panel of nika pulling dami's heart out was like law from one piece and now im just imagining dami at the manor with all his friends over and he's just being annoying so nika pulls his heart out and his whole family is freaking out except dami just looks at his heart in nika's hand and tches and very casually goes "nika, put it back. i need it to live"

Adopting a new cat is hard and EXTREMELY draining so I’m so happy you’re happy!!! This motherfucker day TWO had clawed a hole in the carpet of his quarantine room, taken chunks out of the door for fun, smelled just terrible and hunted down the only piece of chocolate in the entire house to eat it while i was asleep. I don’t even know where it came from it was Christmas themed and we were in March. He’s fine though!

The wet food was a good call! And I’m glad you saw your cat was so happy about it, it sounds like their foster or previous owner might have expected them to be more like a dog? Maybe more self sufficient?? WRONG cats are two year olds. Keep us updated, I love your cat posts!

Shugo Chara is SO GOOD at doing slice of life. The kids hang out by going to the beach, they go shopping or go to a concert, they organise parties and events, Amu spends a day out with her family at the park, she helps her mum at the market, or she goes shopping by herself (though still accompanied by her chara’s), and it feels SO GOOD to watch them do stuff like this because it reminds you of when you were a kid, OR, when you were reading/watching it as a kid, it somewhat reflected your life and made you feel really connected with all the characters and think “hey, I’ve done this”.

Even if you didn’t do most of the things they did, it felt like you could, like you were really hanging out with kids your age and going out and being all mature. They do all of this while magical beings are hanging out with them too, but they are also individual characters with personalities that at the same time, are personally connected to you.

This is why I’ve always wanted an episode where Amu just does mundane things like going to the hairdresser. Or heck even a chapter or episode where she celebrates her birthday with all her friends.

Shugo Chara has always made the mundane seem special and fun, which is why I used to think about it A LOT when I was a child and going out with family or friends. “Amu would do this, she would speak like these to her chara’s, etc.”

I still think about it sometimes like that. It’s basically why it’s my favourite story of all time; because it feels so down to earth.

finnie came over after work yesterday and we ate pizza and drank a couple of those hard mountain dews that you can't even get in georgia yet. we sat on the porch for almost five hours listening to boba's towhee buddy out sing every bird in the neighborhood and we talked about masquerades, vulture babies, after parties, james island growhouses, graffiti based identity theft,and other shenanigans. it was a good day

i spent more time than usual telling her stories about the ancestors, including several she had somehow never heard before. this morning she is on her way up to the birth place of mountain dew. she is going to eat a chili dog at pal's. then she is going to say goodbye to her sweet auntie whose pancreatic cancer has passed the point of no return. i don't know what else to say about that
