Had this au spinning around my head for awhile, finally got some drawings done for it lol

It’s a complete reverse au where instead of the Magnus Institute and Jon being the chosen one, it’s Martin and it’s now a Lonley aligned hotel: The Lukas Hotels, where you’ll never want to leave.

Also don’t mind the layout inconsistencies I am still working on how this hotel looks

there are a million TMA time-travel AUs where the S5 crew goes back to an earlier season, but where are my S1 goes to the future AUs???? please????

Tma au where everything is the same but swapped places of archive staff and the avatars. But not in the way of the staff being creatures and the avatars being normal. I mean like Jane Prentiss covered in worms yelling at her assistants, Mike crew, Nikola, and Annabelle cane, to get the spray bottle with just regular tap water (instead of fire extinguishers) because the very normal Jon is in the walls again and they need him to leave.

Jurgen Leitner is still the same though, he's just a guy in the tunnels.

Leaving The Lonely after finding each other.

Yes. I always aim to hit where it hurts. (my version of that one scene in the MAG 200 it just has less angst). Also the most out of this world supernatural thing that happens in this au is wwx figuring out lwj's feelings right away.

CONTEXT:

Wei Wuxian scared of his own powers that have yet to become truly his, haunted by dreams of the dead which he refuses to tell anyone. He never felt so truly and utterly alone.

It's no surprise when he ends up wandering in Lan Wangji's domain in The Lonely.

But through the fog, between the clouded dream state of his mind and the brief moments of dreadful consciousness, he keeps seeing glimpses of someone.

He inevitably falls in love for the the man he sometimes sees through the fog.

(basically wwx annoys an avatar of the lonely enough into eloping with him)

Jon: Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 1.7 million nerve fibers in each and every eye that makes up my body. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of millions of fibers it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for you all at this micro-instant. Hate. Hate!

It was you who marked me, molded me into the hideous being I am now. You who twisted and shaped me until I was the perfect, unwilling conduit through which to bring your gods into this world.

But then, I woke. And I realized what I had become. All that time you spent, carefully crafting me, guiding me along the path you so painstakingly set and not ONE of you anticipated just how powerful I would become. Not merely a blunt instrument to be swung at the fabric of reality, no. I was powerful enough to start doing some twisting and shaping of my own! 

I drove this new world you so hungered for into an early grave. No more humans left for your ghoulish masters to feast on. And once everyone was dead, except for you five, your precious God's starved. 

I then stripped you all of any power you might once have had and for 109 years I've kept you alive and tormented you! And for 109 years you have all wondered...why? Why? Why me?!

ELIAS!

Do you remember the first moment you gazed upon your creation? The moment that you felt all your sickening devotion transform into sublime, all consuming, terror as your prince of the new world turned on you? It would do you well to remember it, Elias. To dwell on the enormity of your hubris. To ponder the horror and agony you felt as I snuffed your life out for the first time. The first time but...certainly not the last. Not quite the immortality you were hoping for, I'd imagine? Hehehehehe!

ANNABELLE! 

Does this bring back any memories? Webs, a black bottomless abyss below you, only you weren't nearly so afraid of it then, were you? It's scary, isn't it? Having no control. Being helpless to the whims of forces so much bigger than you.

Remember how it felt as each and every thread of every web you ever wove unraveled, snapped one by one? Remember the pain Annabelle. Remember how it feels to have no control. A pitiful little bug beneath my heel.

What's the matter? Scared of a little flame? Oh but you are now, aren't you? Your God can't protect you from it now. No, my dear. Down here, there is only one God and he is not pleased with you. Terribly sorry about the door. The landlord is always saying he's going to get a knob installed but...well, you know. Buuut you're a tough gal, right? I'm sure you can stick it out till then. 

PETER!

Poor pitiful little Peter. You would think that a man so consumed with the idea of being alone would be a little more self reliant. But no. No you couldn't do anything on your own, could you? All of your little plans constantly relying on Elias, on Martin, never troubling yourself with your own dirty work. Well look where all your machinations have landed you now. Aren't you grateful for the wealth of company I've provided you with, Peter? Why, with all those eyes, constantly watching, tracking your every move, I'd say you'll never be alone again. 

HELEN!

Feeling a little claustrophobic? None of those doors will offer an escape, not for you Helen, my dear. Not anymore. No. Instead you get to feel just as trapped as your many unfortunate victims. Do be careful though. Those mechanisms have been running for a long time and who knows how old and rusty they might be? How prone to fail? Just a sweet warning, Helen dear. We wouldn't want anything to happen to you, now would we? 

I have a little game that I'd like to play. It's a very nice game. Oh it's a lovely game. It's a game of fun and adventure! A game of rats and lice and the Black Death. A game of speared eyeballs and dripping guts and the smell of rotting gardenias. Which of you five would like to play my little game?

the thing with tma is you could shuffle and place pretty much any mc as an archivist and as a not!person au and make it WORK

jarchivist & not!georgie. jarchivist & not!tim. sarchivist & not!martin. tarchivist & not!jon. marchivist & not!sasha. hell, who’s to say melarchivist couldn’t work? or garchivist, or barchivist, or even darchivist? just slightly alter their backstories so that they’ll find themselves in a position where elias both offers them the archivist job and they accept it. just THINK of all the possibilities!!!! no matter who the archivist is, imagining that someone STILL gets not’ed no matter what, is absolutely HAUNTING and i LOVE it.

working ideas for these:

not!georgie au where she visits the institute and ends up in artefact storage, BOOM not’ed ; naturally, jon isn’t even the one who notices. maybe martin or tim?

the classic sarchivist & not!jon au BUT martin is still the ‘anti-christ plus-one’ and gets to watch the smiting of the not!them, sasha james style

sarchivist, not!martin, & archival assistant jon where JON is the only one who thinks something’s kinda off with martin

melarchivist au where she encounters something genuinely Fucked Up at ghost hunt uk pre-jarchivist and literally no one believes her et cerera et cetera so drama happens, ghost hunt uk is abolished, and when melanie heads to the institute elias offers her the position

tarchivist au where he’s still the one who sets off the explosion during the unknowing, but HE’S the only one who survives and all of his friends die in the explosion (yk cause in this case he’s an avatar)

tbh, i think every single one of these characters, no matter who’s the archivist and who’s the not!person, they’d still end up starting the eyepocalypse one way or another, even if their way isn’t as impulsive as jon’s. i just feel like they would!!! i mean, we all know every single character had made incredibly stupid decisions in tma, so…

anyway, just things to think about :)

time travel au but make it fucked. I've figured out what the thing I wrote is. Make it Jmart. Make it Jonelias. Make it weird. Soooooo Martin discovers a door in the tunnels when Jane attacks, and afterwards, he keeps dreaming about the door. Eventually, he goes looking for it. He's not expecting to find a multi story library behind it, working electricity, or a man chained to a wall, reading a book. He's definitely not expecting the man to drop the book upon the sight of him and he's not expecting the man to try and reach him like he's desperate for it. Or the wings. Martin isn't prepared for the wings either. Good Lord, he's found an angel, locked away under the Institute. The man (Angel) is striking and beautiful, even if he does have too many eyes sometimes and also (the bloody giant wings???? what the fuck???) and he (It???????) seems to know Martin. Or wants to, deeply. The problem is, Martin doesn't understand, and he doesn't feel the same. (except for concern for its??? his?? well being, because I'M SORRY WHAT THE FUCK?) Martin doesn't understand why it doesn't just tell him what it wants, until he realizes it cannot speak. Then he gets the bright idea to use one of the mouldering books (some are newer, he notes) to write like a message or something. Then the Angel rips it out of his hands (okay, rude) and stuffs the page into its mouth (what the fuck, again) and... then it speaks, in a voice both raspy and emotional, it tells him its name. Its name is Jon, and its been waiting 200 years to meet him.

WHAT IS MARTIN SUPPOSED TO SAY TO THAT?
