Marquis de Lafayette, Alexander Hamilton, and George Washington in the Green in Morristown, New Jersey. This group of statues is called The Alliance, and it represents the moment when Lafayette told Washington and Hamilton that the French were coming to support the American cause on May 10, 1780, in Morristown.

Tried my hand at poetry (which proved surprisingly difficult in a foreign language) for this quick painting. First comment I received: 'That's that creepy spongebob episode with the butterfly, right?'

While it is true, Rhaenyra's bloodline survived but her legacy is that of a princess who lost the war. Aegon III is called so because he is Aegon II's successor, otherwise he himself would be Aegon II. Rhaenyra's children themselves never recognized their mother as the official monarch, neither her descendants. In fact, Viserys II himself followed male primogeniture (Jaehaerys I and Aegon II's example), and usurped his nieces. It makes me think, Aegon III became king because he was Aegon II's closest living male relative, of the blood of a male (Daemon) Targaryen, not because he was Rhaenyra's son. Considering GRRM's love for Daemon, it wouldn't surprise me. So blacks really didn't win, did they? Daemon won.
Rhaenyra lost control over King's Landing and Dragonstone, all her allies turned against her, and then she died brutally. Her son sitting on the throne is poor compensation imo but the fact that she's a non-factor in the succession of the family for the next century and a half is rubbing salt in the wound. Her descendants (except Arianne) don't think positively of her
I don't see it as a win, even compared to what happened to the Greens because at least Aegon is recognised as King, the smallfolk revolted against Rhaenyra, and the Hightowers have power and wealth today while Daenerys and Aegon VI are hiding/in exile (and I think that once the Tarlys and Tyrells are dead, the Hightowers will become a Great House under King Bran).
'Aegon became King', yeah and he was so traumatized that the last dragon died during his reign, his son started a catastrophic war that resulted in countless people dead, his other son locked up his daughters for a decade, his brother condoned all of this and died after barely becoming king, his nephew abused his niece publicly and caused another massive civil war between his grandson and grandnephew, etc.
That's a family that's completely falling apart. Sure, they survived the Greens but they suffered until Robert's Rebellion.
Daemon won.
That's purely the reason Aegon's children and the Strong boys died but Daemon's kids lived. Because GRRM is such a fanboy for this guy.
