Thoughts on Flux and Trump-Ukraine scandal...

It occurred to me a while ago and this may be the first time I put it down but... could the Grand Serpent and Vinder trying to expose them be based on the Trump-Ukraine scandal? The whole in a secret meeting with a politician from another power asking them to target relatives of a political rival does feel like an invocation of it. This must have been written while this scandal was in the news and it was a very serious scandal, even if some people try to brush it away as minor or just usual tit for tat politics it was worse than Watergate!  A President can be impeached, according to the constitution, for “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” Which this most certainly comes under.

The Grand Serpent isn’t quite an overt Trump caricature in the way that Jack Robertson is. In fact, his infiltration of the British establishment with the Sontarans more invokes Russian infiltration that has goes on for some years. But comments like Vinder referring to loyalty to their constitution does certainly invoke American culture. And while this scandal didn’t really topple Trump, as we knew it likely wouldn’t, there is an implicit praise of those who call out this sort of establishment misconduct, even though they know it likely won’t really achieve anything.

every time I think about gideon calling john 'dad' it feels like my entire heart has been dipped in acid fhsdjkfdash she finally has a dad, and he's too busy falling apart under his post-divorce slutty midlife crisis to even expend that much energy in manipulating her (which is a jod's primary love language btw #theologyfacts). it's so half-hearted and transparent, the way he's going 'oh yeah you're here too. hm. hey kid just uuuh go kill alecto for me real quick and then we'll totally be a happy family forever. like. like when my duplicitous sluts were here *already drunk texting sarpedon for a hookup, gideon standing there forgotten like an empty milk carton with a hole in it like :(*'. at least when he gaslights harrow he does so with his whole chest and, you know, some flair, the lack of investment on display here is such insult upon injury.

(also interesting that ianthe seems genuinely terrified about what might happen if john does get alecto back. he's clearly not bothering overmuch with hiding his more ominous vibes anymore. though she has continued her thread of being his least favourite child even now that he's down to only two (one of which is like. only debatably still alive, no matter how much he blings out her corpse), so she also probably always had less illusions to lose all round hahaha. truly john is one of those people where it's hard to say whether being their favourite or their least favourite person is the worse deal)

ooh, that’s definitely up to you guys!! MC’s parents don’t have any set appearance, so you can imagine them looking as much or as little as your MC as you want!! i’ll say this though, MC has the same eyes as their mom ;D

Serpent of Teotihuacan

So this is my design for the feathered serpent, when she manifested during the age of Teotihuacan. For those of you who read my recent 5 sun's story, this is how she'd look during it. The design and lore coincides with both the Teotihuacan culture (or what little we have left) and the myth of creation in Mexica lore. The Mexica eventually discovered Teotihuacan long after it was abandoned and retroactively thought of it as the city of the gods. The name Teotihuacan is even the name the Mexica would've called it, and not the original inhabitants. It translates to "the place where gods were made"

So this Feathered serpent goddess is also one of the earliest hosts she could've had. She's still the same amazing and beautiful wife I know and love tho.

i definitely was not expecting the first memory yakumo experienced from his ancestor was him.. refusing fruit and saying to give it to the human children?? and being chastised for spoiling them too much?? in a way that indicates he’s very soft and protective of them??

that definitely tipped me off that something happened and because this blog hates huey i’m blaming him. he did fuck over a lot of people (quincy, kuya, rei, aster, morvay, eiden probably) and we know he got the great serpent to sign a contract with him so it’s not that far fetched.
