The Billionaire's Baby fascinates me. They wrote the whole Daphne and Estelle situation, which any sane person should be able to recognize for what it is: an extremely emotionally abusive relationship, in which Estelle controls literally every aspect of her daughter's life, including her job, her marriage, her relationships, her social media, her diet. Daphne wants to be a photographer, but she works as a model, because her mother wants her to. She stays in an unloving marriage, because her mother wants her to. She gets a baby she's not ready for, because her mother wants her to. For all we know, this has been going on since Daphne was a baby. So they wrote all of that down, right? And then they just. Barely acknowledged it. Best we got was MC thinking/saying Estelle is annoying and kind of a bitch. Neither the characters nor the narrative treat the situation with nearly the level of gravity it actually warrants. It's like there's a huge three headed goat demon in the living room, and all the tenants ever do about it is vaguely acknowledge its existence once in a while before going on about their day as if nothing has happened. Fucking bonkers.

honestly I think Daphne is the only reason I can kinda enjoy playing The Billionaire’s Baby? Like while MC and Cole/Callie are living in a romantic dramedy, Daphne’s stuck in a domestic thriller and no one else in her life seems to realize it!!! She’s trapped in a loveless marriage. Her surrogate is stealing her spouse. She has to break up with the one man who seemingly knows her better than anyone else. Her mother is constantly looming behind her, digging her nails into her shoulders, reminding her of how she’s failing to be the perfect model and obedient daughter. And now her mother is forcing her to have a baby, even though she’s never wanted children, because it’s supposed to save her marriage and enhance her public image. But the baby wants nothing to do with her; she can’t hold her own daughter without the baby crying. She can be held by every other person in her life without issue, but not her own mother. Daphne has to live with the knowledge that she’s helped to bring a child into this world and that girl is going to grow up understanding her mother (or one of them, if you’re playing with Callie) has never wanted her, as opposed to how Estelle has made Daphne her entire life in the worst way possible. It’s so insane it makes me lose my MIND 😵‍💫

Now that I’ve read the first chapter of Ship of Dreams, I think I’ve come to the realization that the standards in which I judge a PB book’s enjoyability have changed quite drastically over the years. Once upon a time I would give a book 6 full chapters before deciding whether or not I liked it. These days it’s a more instantaneous judgment. Now I judge a book solely on how horny and cringey the MC is in the first chapter.

Damn damn damn damn...I was really hoping TCH 2 came out this year so general released audience wouldn't have wait 2 months for it to come out. And a sports book? Eh...it's not for me.

Guarded? What's that suppose to be about? Another bodyguard book? If so it's gotta be miles better than Witness at least. Or does Guarded mean like guarding your heart from the world and the potential of love? If so, no thank you lol.

Because I expected it to be a single LI book but the wording makes me feel like this might be a multiple LI or a potential poly book and I really would love that! Maybe a TNA book but instead of twins, a surrogate plotline and a potential poly between a goc Sam and Sofia and f!MC? As long as we can choose to not go down a cheating plotline, I'll be content. I think we've had enough "affair" books to last us at least a couple of years

It’s so funny to me how the TNA writers tried to convince us that Sam and MC were prominent enough to be featured in tabloids and need a PR manager to go public with their relationship… meanwhile in TBB Cole is married to a whole model but can just stroll all over the city canoodling with his mistress and no one bats an eye

Why are the MCs so horny right off the bat? Like the only thought going through their heads is sex. It's making it impossible to enjoy these books. They are basically porn with a plot.
