Hello, please don't take this the wrong way but when I first started getting into comics I really disliked Ollie for how he treated/reacted to Roy and the whole drug thing but many years and more experience later (I know the characters a bit better now and stopped reading bad takes on tumblr) I'm realising that theres a lot more nuance and apparently they've got a really close relationship these days?? So I was just wondering if you might be able to explain that to me because I'd love to get into more arrow stuff (honestly mostly fanficton because lbr comics are crazy confusing and expensive) but I'm struggling to shake the assumptions I made about Ollies character when I was younger
Hi anon! Thank you soooo much for this ask, I've been looking forward to answering it for hours and now I finally have the time. Ollie's one of my favourite fictional archers, and I adore talking about him at any opportunity because he is SUCH a nuanced character. So here's-
Why Oliver Queen Doesn't Suck
Mandatory disclaimer that this is my own opinions, other people may have different interpretations which is totally fine! Ollie's been around for over 80 years, there's a lot of content to read and a lot of conflicting characterisations, so other people may see him differently than me. Also disclaimer that much of this was written from memory. I fact-checked the date of Nixon's declaration of the War on Drugs and the Denny O'Neil quote, but the rest of this was from memory. Apologies for any innaccuracies, both for comics and context.
Now that that's out of the way, lets talk Snowbirds.
In order to discuss Snowbirds Don't Fly, one of the most important things to factor in is context. I understand it can be difficult to see through the historical lense of a time period in which the majority of people on this website, myself included, were not even born let alone reading comic books. However, it's still crucially vital to discuss what was going on in the real world at the time of its publication in order to engage in a rich discussion of the comic. Snowbirds was published the year that the War on Drugs officially began following Nixon's declaration of drugs as "public enemy number one" on June 17th 1971, just under two months before the release of Snowbirds part 1 in August of that year. At the time, drug addiction was very much seen as a moral failing, and the war on drugs focused heavily on the incarceration of drug users (particularly ones that the US Government wanted an excuse to lock away such as people of colour and pacifists against the war in Vietnam, but that's not relevant to Snowbirds.) While Snowbirds was absolutely not a perfect comic, it was created to show a more humanising side of addicts than the usual demonisation seen on the news. In the words of writer Denny O'Neil, “we chose Roy [...] to show that addiction was not limited to 'bad' or 'misguided' kids.” It was created to show that addiction was not a moral failing, and that anyone could fall into it due to circumstances, even someone we've already accepted as 'one of the good guys' for the past 30 years. Roy was used as the symbol of a good kid who made a bad mistake in order to humanise real young people who'd gone through similar circumstances. And where there's a kid, there's a parent, which is where Ollie came in.
Now, I very strongly believe that Ollie was not written to be the bad guy of Snowbirds. Not only was he also an established 'good guy', but he was a symbolic stand-in for much of America at that time, including the people who would be reading it. And, while Green Arrow is very much a character who brings with him a lot of strong political takes, villainising their readerbase would be a step too far. Ollie was a stand-in for the concerned and ill-informed parent, a character who's consumed all the anti-addict propaganda being spread at the time and internalised it. That's why the fact that it was his own ward struggling with addiction was so poignant to the story. Ollie was forced to re-evaluate his worldview after seeing someone who he knows isn't what the media says addicts are struggling with addiction. Snowbirds has such an interesting character arc for Ollie, seeing him struggle to combine the ideas of what he's heard and what he's actively seeing in his mind.
Now, the most infamous part of Snowbirds is, obviously, the slap. Full disclaimer, I am not saying that Ollie is in the right for that. He was 100% undeniably in the wrong for how he responded to Roy's addiction. However, I think a key component of comic books that people tend to ignore is the component of marketing. The writers wanted this comic to sell. It was a very important story for the time, and with the amount of comics being released it was crucial to them that people actually found the comic and read it, especially since it was one of the first comics released outside of the strict rules of the Comics Code. And what would catch readers' eyes more than seeing a superhero hitting his sidekick whilst said sidekick is surrounded by drugs? I'm not trying to discredit the panel, it was obviously a very significant part of the story, but there were external factors at play too.
A lot of the development of Roy and Ollie's relationship is seen in comics released post-Snowbirds, but even in the comic itself there's clear development, particularly at the end. Snowbirds Don't Fly is a character arc for Ollie of him adjusting his worldview in order to grow and better himself after recognising his own biases. And people tend to forget that Snowbirds ends with Roy hitting Ollie back, and what does Ollie do? He listens. He lets Roy get his frustrations out, and listens to Roy's perspective, and he's proud of him by the end of it, proud of the young man he is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, now that we've gotten Snowbirds out of the way, let's talk about-
Post-Snowbirds
There's a common misconception that Roy and Ollie having a close relationship is a recent development, which just isn't true. While it could've absolutely been explored in more detail, it's clear that Roy and Ollie reconciled post-Snowbirds. The earliest example that comes to mind is 1993's Green Arrow vol 2 #75, wherein Ollie and Roy refer to each other as father and son.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keep in mind that this was written by Grell who is, at least in my opinion, one of the best references for Ollie. While they did have some issues in the later issues of the run preceding Ollie's death (the causes of the conflict I'm unsure of, they were on rocky terms during Connor's introduction but I don't know why, if anyone has context for that please let me know but that could've just been a choice Dixon made), it's clear to see that Snowbirds was not something that permenantly damaged their relationship. Ollie put in the effort following his actions, to better himself both as a father and as a person, and Roy recognised that and forgave him. Parent/child relationships are hard anyway, let alone under the circumstances Roy and Ollie are under as heroes, and the fact that Ollie actually recognised his own flaws is far more than many parents do.
If we go later, we can see Roy talking fondly about Ollie whilst Ollie was dead in Titans (1999), fondly recalling memories with him from his youth, as well as keeping a photograph of him on his wall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Roy does recognise that things with Ollie weren't always perfect, he does also acknowledge the good times between him and Ollie, and it's clear from the way he speaks that he holds a lot of love for him.
Later still, when Ollie returns from the dead, the duo reunite with fondness
Tumblr media
One thing particularly that stands out to me is that, at this point, Ollie was missing many of his memories and Snowbirds was still fresh in his mind, with him bringing up Roy's addiction multiple times throughout Quiver as if it happened within at most the span of two years. Despite this, he still embraces Roy and treats him with love, making it clear that Ollie loved Roy even near to the Snowbirds era. There are more instances I could go into in Green Arrow (2001), but I'm running out of free time, so I'd highly recommend reading it :)
Aaaand later still, Ollie openly admits to having fucked up with Roy during Snowbirds.
Tumblr media
He admits his failings, and demonstrates that he's got Roy's best interests at heart. He's not being selfish, he's letting Roy have his moment in his initiation as Red Arrow and staying in the background because he believes that's what's best for Roy. And-
Tumblr media
He openly states that he loves Roy.
There's more in the current continuity I could reference, but I don't have the time to go through them right now and I'm definitely more familiar with content pre-52 (particularly 1994-2004 is the ten years I'd say I know the best), so hopefully this is enough.
Roy and Ollie's relationship isn't perfect. It has clear ups and downs, which is what makes them so interesting! Oliver Queen is a very loving, yet very flawed man, and to go either way of "evil abuser" or "perfect father" discredits who he is.
Anyway, your faves don't have to be unproblematic to love them. Ollie has a really compelling character arc during and after Snowbirds, and I like him a lot :)
For further reading, check out my masterlist on my pinned post, particularly Oliver Queen's B- Parenting, Snowbirds (1), and Snowbirds (2)
Edit: In the original version of this post, I incorrectly credited Mike Grell for the introduction of Ollie's socialism and giving away his money. While Grell did expand the concept, it was first developed by O'Neil. My apologies for the misinformation.

To be fair CF is just as much about found family than VW
Hi anon! I'm gonna link the post I talked about the Golden Deer here for clarity's sake lol.
I think when discussing themes of found family in different three houses routes, it's important to talk about Byleth. In a game where the single, main variable between possible futures is Byleth's interference, it means the story has to be written in a particular way--I mentioned this before when talking about character supports and endings; each character needs to be able to have a romantic ending with Byleth, which affects how their supports are written. In the case of the Lord's, this means you're given tangible reasons why you should've chosen them.
I mean. Let's be real here. Claude has the highest survivability rate of any character in the base game. He can't die if you're completing Verdant Wind (for obvious reasons), or Blue Lions. He's heavily implied to live to see another day in Silver Snow, and you can spare him in Crimson Flower! Edelgard and Dimitri die without the professor's stabilizing influence--but Claude? What does he lose without the professor.
That's sort of how I determine subtler themes of each route in a way--by comparing what you get with and without Byleth.
So when I argue that Verdant Wind is the most about found family, I mean it thematically; the other routes don't have tangible less found family, but without Byleth members of the Golden Deer just blatantly disappear unrecruited post time skip in several routes!
Without Byleth, the option for found family is removed for Claude in a big way, I personally feel, and not just by full recruitment runs lol. Not completely, of course--even in Crimson Flower a recruited Lorenz laments having to face off against Claude and Hilda is willing to die in defense of him and the city--but enough that it was blatantly shocking to me that if you don't recruit Marianne, she does not appear at all post time skip, no exceptions.
In a narrative sense, perhaps slightly unshocking; but in a practical sense? This leaves Claude without a healer.
Claude can't hold onto all his Deer even if you don't recruit any of them in the Academy phase. Silver Snow, Azure Moon, Crimson Flower--Marianne will always be gone; consistent, non variable. Depending on the route other characters like Lorenz might disappear as well.
The themes of found family are prevalent in all the routes, but since each route is pretty much defined by the Lord who leads it, I feel as though their personal relationship with the found family is most defining, if that makes sense.
People stand by Edelgard, Dimitri, and even Rhea for better, or for worse. Even recruited, characters like Felix make it abundantly clear that switching sides doesn't change the immense emotional attachment they have to their original lord.
This just. Isn't true for Claude.
Without Byleth, he doesn't get to keep everyone together. Without Byleth Hilda is recruitable in two routes. The idea that you could ever do the same with Hubert or Dedue is blatantly laughable.
Byleth's presence is what enables Edelgard, Dimitri, and Rhea to remain the most of themselves, if that makes sense. Edelgard's war strategy in Crimson Flower is a lot less aggressive and scorched earth then it is in the other two routes because she's had the professor as an emotional rock. Similarly for Dimitri, he's able to recover because Byleth is there to keep him alive and safe. And then Rhea will blatantly die in the Verdant Wind route where she doesn't in Silver Snow. Byleth, in every sense of the word, keeps these three characters alive and well.
But without her? They still inspire loyalty and devotion--unquestionable, again, if no recruitment takes place. Dimitri, Edelgard, and Rhea can all face up against you as enemies with the full force of their houses/allies (save for, oddly, Annette).
Claude does not.
Claude's whole route is about learning to trust others in a way that allows them to trust him. The Deer are devoted to Claude in Verdant Wind in a way they just, textually aren't otherwise, and that's due to Byleth's influence, both as a Professor to these individual students, and to Claude.
When I say that Verdant Wind is the most found family thematically to me, I mean it at a very base level. Claude knows he doesn't have what Dimitri and Edelgard seem to take for granted. It seems almost effortless, in Verdant Wind, the loyalty and devotion he inspires in his friends despite how often you, as Byleth, are told that Claude appears to be an untrustworthy and sneaky individual.
But it's easy to see in routes where you don't chose him that without Byleth, that image mantains. Claude is an outsider. And maybe he doesn't need Byleth in the way the other lords do to survive or achieve his dream (after all, there's nothing saying he can't open diplomacy with his former classmates after he goes back to Almyra so long as he lives to do so), but just as Byleth is uniquely able to be a peer to the Golden Deer, so can Claude uniquely trust and gain the trust of his house in full.
It's not as dramatic as the other two houses, and I think it's the point. Edelgard and Dimitri have already built a solid foundation of devotion and loyalty. Ferdinand and Felix (your "rival" characters in those houses) are loyal without Byleth, even if Ferdinand claims it's to guide her or if Felix complains every step of the way. Lorenz isn't. In Verdant Wind, you sort of take it for granted that everyone will be there at the reunion if they survived the Academy phase. Of course they will--they promised, didn't they?
But outside Verdant Wind, it's clear to see that you as the player took it for granted. And that's why I think Verdant Wind is thematically the most found family. It's not because the other routes don't love each other as much or aren't as complex or there isn't devotion. It's because fundamentally Verdant Wind is about Claude, for the first time in his life, having a group of people he can rely on and who will rely on him without hesitation. It's about the formation of found family, and how Claude doesn't need it to achieve his dreams, but man, does it give him something to achieve those dreams for.

I don't know if you've been asked/talked about this before but: When it comes to after TMMN season 2 what are you looking forward to in the hopeful future?? Personally, I'm hoping for them to maybe continue with Return or maybe an A La Mode OVA. I love talking about Mew Beri, but some of my friends only watch the anime. Any thoughts or predictions?
I’m actually glad you asked this now, anon, bc I would have answered this question differently if you’d ask me this same thing this time last week. Since the HIDIVE trailer has aired in all its spoiler-y wonder, my answer has changed.
TMMN S2 spoiler warning for the below.
These scenes from the HIDIVE trailer are, in my opinion, clearly from the early parts of the final battle with Deep Blue. Some of these shots have direct parallels with the manga, as some other folks on Tumblr have already pointed out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you would have asked what I hope for the future of TMMN a week ago, I would have said “Stretch the original canon into a season 3. Let the story play out for longer and give it space to breathe over more episodes.” But after seeing that we clearly have final battle scenes in HIDIVE’s S2 trailer, I think the original TMM canon from the manga is coming to an end in S2.
So, what after that?
I think it would be interesting to do another full season with Mew Berry / a la Mode since her story has never been animated before. But I think the most likely scenario is an OVA (or two) either of a la Mode or Re-Turn. I would personally love if we saw an animated version of Re-Turn and its bonus stories.
My DREAM scenario would be a full season of Re-Turn shenanigans exploring the sleeping power inside Masaya, the lingering chimeras still left to defeat, and the aliens continuing to work at the café (obviously, considering I wrote an entire 220k-word fanfic series on this premise lol) but that’s a total fever dream considering Re-Turn is essentially a 2-chapter oneshot story.

AO3 TAGS: Bed-sharing, Hurt/Comfort, Insomnia, Friends to Lovers, Roy Kent Needs Therapy, Cooking Together, Canon Divergence
ANGSTY QUOTE:
“Jamie,” he whispers, “are you asleep?”
“No,” Jamie responds.
“Do you ever feel like there’s something fucked inside you?”
“No, ‘cause I’m me.”
And, yeah, Roy should have expected that answer.
The mattress beside him shifts, and he turns his head to see Jamie’s now on his side facing him. His mouth twists in that funny way when he’s concerned. “D’you think there’s something fucked inside you, mate?”
Roy looks up at the ceiling. “No,” he reflexively says. But then feels awful, trapped, and so he allows himself a correction. “Maybe.”
“Hmm.”
Something cold covers his clenched hands. Roy recognizes it to be Jamie’s hand. And he allows for Jamie to gently spread his fingers open, allows for Jamie to flip them so his palm is up, allows for Jamie to hold his hand.
It’s called empathy, you dusty old fart, Jamie once told him months ago, ages ago.
Roy does not cry. He doesn’t. But he blinks too fast and he feels his throat close up and yeah, okay, he really needs to be fucking open to empathy right now. So he turns into Jamie’s chest, ignores the guilt he feels because of it, and lets Jamie cradle him.

What are the forgotten glee songs you love that don't really get mentioned?
Personally, I'm obsessed with 'for once in my life' and 'rockstar', but they rarely get mentioned among best glee songs lists, so they're a bit forgotten (both so iconic tho)
truthfully i do not know exactly what songs are forgotten but some of my favorite songs i don't see discussed much are buenos aires, la isla bonita, you keep me hanging on, disco inferno, if i can't have you, abc, i don't know how to love him, papa don't preach, it's a man's man's man's world, true colors, and its not usual! sorry if these are popular, again, i have like. no concept of what is and isn't ^^;

am i the only one mad at what marvel is doing for the cast of thunderbolts? why does it have such a great known cast meanwhile i feel like canwo's only big stars are Mackie and Harrison obviously. and the fact that it follows right after canwo, it pisses me off. feige better give us another famous name cast apart of Harrison. not that Mackie and Harrison aren't enough, they are but c'mon, you gotta bring in big names so people go to see a movie, specially when it comes to marvel because it seems like everyone's tired of them but if you've got a cast mainly known with a big fan base then it shouldn't be such a big issue but here we are
Hi Anon!!!
It's the first time, I'm seeing this take because so far, I've seen have the opposite vision. A lot of people were unhappy with Harrison Ford being in the movie because they were afraid Sam would be sidelined in his own movie, but personally I don't feel like that would be the case.
I don't mind and I think he'll be a great addition to the cast, but it doesn't mean that I want to see more actors joining the main cast.
I've heard so many rumors about Cap 4, rumors that the Humk might be joining.
We'll see how it goes but anyway, I'm sure Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly and Harrison Ford will do a great job!
The strength of Marvel movies isn't only the cast but the marketing done around the movie, that's what makes people want to go. So it will all depend on what kind of marketing Disney/Marvel decides to do. The Eternals had thé greatest cast of any mcu movie ever, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan and 2 of the Game of Thrones brothers and still didn't do as good as other mcu movies, on the other hand, Shang-Chi had a cast with actors that were mostly unknown to a lot of people(except Tony Leung) and did better at the box office than Eternals did. I liked both movies but I just meant that big names aren't the only think the audience will look for.
One thing I wanted to mention to is that it makes sense that Thunderbolts would be adding names because it's an ensemble cast, wheareas Captain America 4, has one character who's clearly the lead? ( I don't know if this makes sense😂)
Long story short: I like that Harrison Ford will be in the movie but that's more than enough, I don't want them to add any more actors. I appreciate you sending me this ask because I'm always happy to have these discussions and have insights from other people.
Captain America 4 doesn't need to add more "Big shot" actors to the list, Anthony will deliver but Disney also has to do their job and do the marketing properly as they would do it for any other of their movie.
Anybody has thoughts on this?

Catboy 😽😽😽
Hii! This one was actually a fic in which Light turned into a catboy. I don't remember how I justified it, but I want to say some sort of Death Note Magic Turned Him Into A Catboy. You know how that just happens. I think it was truly high art. Like and subscribe and ring the bell if you think I should finish it
Here you have a beautiful excerpt from the beginning that I've only just now reread for the first time and made myself laugh with:
L’s brilliant observation came after a bite of the cupcake and a lazy silence: “Amane strikes again,” he said. Misa was in the main hall of the building, cross-armed. Silently, Light uncrossed his arms to avoid the unfortunate similarity.
“You know, Light-kun, she is insistent, that girl.”
The implication that this was new information was so ridiculous Light could’ve smiled. He didn’t. He kept it in and shifted in his seat uncomfortably.
“What’s the matter, Light? You’re not going downstairs to see her?”
Now, Light could have laughed. He could also have bashed L’s face in.
His glare was returned by L’s wide-eyed look of faux innocence. He took his time to choose his words, smacked his lips. “Do you have fun mocking me, Ryuzaki?”
“Mocking you?” L repeated. His faux innocence had made it to his voice. “Amane is your girlfriend. In fact, I thought you told me something about how you’d reconsidered your feelings for her and feel deeply moved by…”
“You think it’s just fine for Misa to see me like this?”
L’s eyes walked Light up and down, and Light crossed his arms, unable to help it. As a means of protecting himself from L’s gaze, it was ridiculous. It was the top of Light’s head that two cat ears had sprouted from, and there L’s eyes landed last, awakening an impulse in Light to slap the detective away and run off. Cheeks hot, he sank a little in his seat. Even his thoughts were catlike. It was humiliating.
“She is your girlfriend,” L repeated as a reply, and Light imagined his own nails leaving a nasty scratch on that stupid face. He pressed his eyes closed. “I reckon she should find out eventually. And, actually, I think she’d find it adorable.” Light opened his eyes wide. “Especially the way you move your tail.”

roygarth headcanons and motifs?
Okay I wanna just give a disclaimer that I am not a Garth expert, I've only really read him in Titans comics (though I did read Tempest 1996 specifically for this ask), also Roygarth isn't my OTP, I do ship it but it's not something I've thought about in great length, so my apologies if I've gotten Garth's character wrong or if my interpretation of the ship is different to yours/OOC. Also I've not made any in depth ship posts before, I'm more of a passive observer of ships, so apologies if this sucks ass generally.
For it to work in canon, a very strong aspect of it would have to be communication. Roy doesn't always pick up on when he's done something that's upset someone, and Garth can become quite vocally angry if someone upsets/hurts him. I really wish that the progress they'd made in Titans (1999) #16 was expanded on in later comics because I think if they got past that initial barrier of miscommunication they could have such a good relationship. They're actually pretty similar in some ways, they both love very strongly and are fiercly protective of the people they love, but there are differences, too. Roy's very much an immediate reactor in a lot of cases, he reacts immediately when something upsets him and forgives just as fast, whereas Garth can let things fester/build over time and then eventually lash out in a much angrier way, so communication is definitely the most important aspect.
I don't think that they'd ever be the perfect honeymoon couple, there are always gonna be some things about both of them that drive each other insane. I can't see Roy completely dropping all the teasing, and I also can't see Garth suddenly becoming totally okay with it because Roy's explained he's only kidding. However, I do see it becoming more of an exasperation rather than actually pissing him off, and if they were to get closer I could see it becoming more mutual, good-natured teasing. I also think that they'd get better at resolving arguments too, and that they wouldn't escalate as far once a mutual level of trust's been built up. I think Garth kinda has an expectation that people are out to get him sometimes or that they underestimate his worth, so once that's been addressed and Garth's assured that Roy has no ill-will or negativity towards him then he'd be less likely to lash out and more understanding that that's just Roy's way of showing affection.
It's absolutely a slowburn relationship that would take a lot of time to develop. They're not gonna wake up one morning and realise they love each other and should date. I think, if anything, Cerdian would be a really good way for them to actually fall in love with each other (let's say for the sake of this, Cerdian's fine and Garth and Dolphin split up). I think being able to bond over being parents would absolutely open new opportunities for their relationship, and one of the things Roy looks for in a romantic partner is how well they get along with Lian, so another parent would definitely be a good choice of partner for him, especially since Garth already adored Lian even before Cerdian was born and he and Roy had their talk in purgatory. Plus them co-parenting Lian and Cerdian would be adorable.
I still think that the nicknames would persist, but they'd definitely become more terms of affection as they entered a relationship. Maybe not Gill-head specifically since Garth's explicitly stated he doesn't like that one, but other affectionate fish-related ones for sure. Also they'd keep calling each other Speedy and Aqualad affectionately.
Aaand from a more fanon-y perspective, I think Roy'd definitely be the one to initiate much of the physical affection. I 100% see him as a hugger, so I can imagine him just pulling Garth into hugs or dragging him over to the sofa to cuddle. Garth I can see as more of a spontanious kisser. Both of them go bright red whenever the other surprises them with affection. Also they should do the percabeth underwater kiss.
Anyway this is a family

i am going door-to-door asking writers if they have any punznap headcanons 🥺 punz being all soft and sapnap being all embarrassed not wanting to let himself go lives in my head rent free
nawwww anonnn!! yes i can supply some cute things about these two for sure!!
the clip where punz tickled sapnap is so damn cute,, coz it’s like the perfect pairing of playful ler and fiesty lee. like punz was so giggly and cheeky about his side squeezes that he was giving :(( it was so cute. and the innocent teases as well. like “why are you so mad??” as he’s literally tickling sapnap. it’s such a cute match for sapnaps immediate reaction to fight lmao. coz it’s hard to threaten someone while you’re getting tickled, but especially hard if that person is all smiley and giggly
sapnap’s teases in the snf ylyl were 😵‍💫 so low and teasy? like so soft? just the little “you think that’s funny huh?” kinda moments. it’s interesting to imagine how these would work on punz? i feel like punz would be the time to be like “stahahp”, like that would be his response to it. i think it would add to his giggliness .
i feel like punz is the type to be embarrassed by each and every noise he makes. so if sap were to victoriously point out that he’s squeaky he’d absolutely fluster a truck tonne. i like the idea that he’s also the type to constantly ask the ler to slow down so that he can better control his reactions and console himself,, but it fails him because it only opens up space for teasing and more flustery tickles :(( and sapnap’s low teases would suit that situation so well

quiche was so creepy in this episode and for what 😭 the ear bite? pretty sure i have seen fan art like that. and the whole sequence with him changing her into a dress (where did he get that??) and then the merry go round gave me WHIPLASH like WHAT is going on!! i dig it though. love how they are doing their own thing with the gross goblin man. he was particularly ugly this episode. bless nobuhiko the budget theye blew on him was worh it.
total agreement anon, he was ESPECIALLY scrunkly this episode.
the contrast between “whee look how cute here’s a magical dress and my chimera shark butler and a merry go round” vs. “humanity is going to be wiped out but it’s okay because I’ll save you :)” is just so delightfully creepy and wonderfully on-brand
The ear biting thing made me shriek out loud not gonna lie. I didn’t think they would take the face-touching “finish the date with me” line from the manga and make it worse
We were FED this past episode god bless nobuhiko okamoto for that damn good voice acting and god bless satoshi ishino for directing the animation of this beautiful mess !!

Does Ajax prefer his dinosaurs feathered or scaled
Sorry to say, probably scaled. He doesn’t really think about the nuance of feathered dinosaurs, he just presumes the comical extreme and he’s like “theres no fuckin way”, one of those guys who’s like “what, you mean like a big chicken??” and kinda just dismisses the concept immediately. Ajax has this thing where he presumes he’s right most of the time. It's hard to change his mind on some things because if he can tell you're trying to change his mind he will fight you every step of the way.
He also doesn’t believe that known celebrity and god Jake English is real. So I think you can understand that he’s not always right.
