#Tr271 spoilers- (Hanma theory)

Hanma is karma

#1 - Hanma is not a villain!

ppl say Hanma is evil or something like that... but I don't think so..

Note: K.Wakui wrote on the side of this chapter "our hero" when talking about Hanma. Why did he give so much importance to a side character?

Note: The chapter started with "our hero" and ended up with "villains" emphasizing with quotation marks "" . This may mean that the two time leaper (Takemichi and Hanma) are fighting for a reason they feel is right for them: Takemichi fights to save his lover, his friends and we don't know Hanma's story.... but i think it's revenge (= Tokyo revengers)

The two “villains” ?

Hanma&Sanzu? or Hanma&Shin?

#2- Hanma and the homeless man

In the ch271 leaks, the back of the old homeless man is revealed!

Shin is angry and beats him.

Hypothesis 1 : Hanma isn't the homeless man but he is related to him.

The homeless man may be someone Hanma greatly respects and wants to protect. (his family?)

Hanma can't be the homeless as his reaction when he saw Mikey dark impulse (#Tr262).

Note: If he was the homeless, he wouldn't have confronted Mikey directly, knowing the "dark impulse"... or maybe at that moment he realized that the timeline had changed to the worst version.

Hypothesis 2 : The homeless man is the very first time leaper and gave his power to Hanma and Shin.

By defeating the homeless, Shin gained the power of time leaper.

Hanma also gets it as an inheritance given to him by the homeless man before he breathed his last. (?)

The parallel of these two scenes can mean many things:

Note 1: These two panels can be related to the homeless old man, because the beaten guys are the same in the Shin and Hanma version. (1) In Hanma version : maybe Hanma beats those guys because they insulted the homeless man. (2) In Shin version: He beats them because he wants to meet this old man.

Note 2: These two panels can represent the two time leaper and their rivalry/ the different paths they took: (1) Shin's road : He wants to save Mikey no matter the cost. (2) Hanma's road : He wants 'to restore' justice. Stop Shin from changing the timeline for "selfish" reasons like saving Mikey.

/!\ Remember that Hanma's goals are to destroy the toman and harm Mikey…Why ? bc what has Shin done..

#3- Hanma is karma

Hanma reminds me of Nanno from the thai series "the girl from nowhere". She represents karma and punishes people who deserve it.

Hypothesis : Shin transmitted his time leaper power to Takemichi.

In each altered timelines, Shin "dies".

What if it was Shin who pushed Takemichi off the train?

What if Shin gave the time leaper power to Takemichi to save Mikey?

in the documentary ‘the life of tove jansson’, theres mention of thingumy and bob and how they represent tove herself and her female lover at the time, vivica. thingumy and bob speak a language that only they can understand and carry a suitcase that they always try to keep hidden containing a ruby

the ruby represented their love that they had to keep hidden away from society and the groke, who chased them for it, represented a sort of fear. i think they also mention how the story of moominmamma immediately being able to recognize moomin (despite not looking like himself), or rather the whole book in general, reflected that tove’s family had accepted her love of women

I think the thing with bl and age limit comes from different things. First, the genre really grew on that way. Teenage boys falling in love (in uni settings). And it's what it's popular for even these days.

Second, like you said lots before, bls are a part of the lgbtq media, but don’t necessarily even try to represent that in what it is (oy idk if that's clear sorry).

So, BL is "BOY love" = young adult males.

So all in all I think there is a difference between BL that are for young adults (that are very cliché), and mlm/lgbtq media, that represent more of the spectrum/age/characterisation ect.

Because there are mlm or lgbtq+ love story media present in asian countries, but people tend to focus more on bls…which are less realistic and more cliché in a way. (but I know some ppl watch those bc it’s precisely less “realistic”). IDK MAYBE WE DON'T NEED TO HAVE THIS DISCUSSION AGAIN LMAO

But anyway it’s what I think. And also a bummer that people sleep on so many other media 😫

yes I totally agree with you, though for me today every mlm series in at the very least thailand is labeled as bl, whether it's just a silly romcom that doesn't even acknowledges sexuality, or a show made by & for lgbtq+ people. I told sunset about you for example, a show that I see a lot of international fans call "different than bl", IS bl in the eyes of the thai public for which it was made for in the first place. so for me bl, which did start as a genre with high school & university light romcoms that didn't acknowledge sexuality & that were made primarily for a straight female audience, has now evolved into so much more. we still have those silly romances that don't acknowledge sexuality, but now we have shows like not me that are highly political, I told sunset about you that are incredibly cinematic, manner of death with darker topics, and even 1000 stars that completely changes from the university bl cliche. so today, if we only consider BOY love stories to be under bl, the four shows above are not bl, which they are in the eyes of the people who made them & their audiences. all the non bl queer media from the specific asian countries that produce bl that I can think about are only movies, but shows all fall under the label of bl from what I've seen. and the public has also evolved a lot in my opinion, having a lot more lgbtq+ fans compared to the beginning, and it definitely makes sense when we see how much more bl shows acknowledge & celebrate sexuality as time passes by. so for me bl has evolved past the point of being ONLY silly university romcoms, and now encompasses so much more than that. and because it encompasses so much more than that, I have hope that it will also apply to age & that more mature stories (in age, not necessarily in content) will also have their time & place in the bl genre :)

as not me is coming to an end, some notes bc i can’t sleep

i think it will be one of my favorite thai series. i love that it has a socially relevant plot beside the love stories. i love the change of outfits and scenery. i‘m interested in what thailand really looks like and this feels so much closer than all the series that are set in fancy universities, nice restaurants, luxury one-room student apartments, and expensive cars. a bit like 3wbf and itsay even though they don’t get out of the city.

sometimes the fandom ruined a bit for me. ppl can get too caught up in wanting a show represent all their values (and worse: ships, assumptions, fantasies...) and forget that this is a creative work by artists, directors, writers, who have their story to tell. remember that if you don’t like it, leave. many people are putting in hard work and you don’t even have to pay for it. and there’s not even anything seriously problematic happening (that isn’t criticized). yes i also didn’t like how everything with gram developed but that’s how it is and they must have had their reasons, let’s move on. don’t attack the creators.

generally i see so much room and potential for more background stories and really hope there will be a second season. so many questions are left and i don’t think one episode can answer all of them (it doesn’t have to but i’m curious :D).

what about gumpa’s connections? who are these people he gets his info from if the gang is already “leading” the movement? generally background everything on gumpa. note that todd didn’t even know of his existence even when he had clearly investigated everyone around black. and gumpa is clearly smarter than everyone, he recognized white straight away when noone else did. he knows how to do the strategies, the parkour, the fighting, even shooting. more than regular cops can do. looks like he is/was a secret agent? there is much to find out.

what happened between todd and black? how did their relationship/friendship develop and how did they get to almost killing each other? most importantly (but pretty sure it will be answered) what happened between “we can’t kill each other” and black reaching the hospital?

(this will probably also be answered) who called black to come to the hospital? probably gumpa but there is a small chance dan was involved. tbh i’m not mad at dan, he did try his best. and clearly, tawi sent him to arrest the gang to weaken them, show them how far his power goes, but sending dan is still better than sending anyone else who may kill them all on the spot or whatever. so even though yok and dan got hurt over this, the gang got away better than if it hadn’t been like that (hoping they make it out of/away from the hospital).

some ideas/wishes for the last episode but probably not all of it can fit

i had this idea what if todd and the gang work together to bring tawi down, and then todd kind of takes his place but without being bad? maybe black and white could convince him to accept counseling/education on social responsibility etc xD (more like white bc i’m sure black “tried” but in his own way xD) maybe that’s too simple to be a realistic option because the system is too messed up. just dreaming a little here xD

what about white’s career? he will quit i guess? we haven’t seen their dad in ages, this part of the story needs some closure still^^

i hope yok’s mom can find a better job :’(

i love win metawin. simple. my previous url like very early on was sarawatined and then i went to metawwin then i removed the w. hehe

i always considered making one (i got lazy) but then i realized that this blog is my personality and i like having one blog for all my interests and likes bc it represents my brain lmao and i’m aware it’s a mess but i love it.

3. how long have you been on tumblr?

i made this blog on april last year but i’ve been on tumblr since october 2009 so i’ve seen it all.

nope! i prefer scheduling posts tbh.

5. why did you start your blog in the first place?

the main reason was 2gether. i made it during the final eps and i just remember seeing everything on my dash and being so fascinated bc it was my hyperfixation at that time. my friend angel had made a blog and i was hesitant to come back to tumblr at first bc my prev. blog got hacked and deleted and it was a scary experience for me. but i ended up doing it and i was super happy. also, i started watching thai dramas like around 2016 so it was nice to find all these dramas on tumblr again and even new ones afterwards.

6. why did you choose your icon/pfp?

she’s my wife 💍 (that CK shoot.... man. i edited it on photoshop and idk i like how it turned out and i really like the bg color. and how she’s holding a film camera as in to represent all the dramas i watch ;) or smth like that)

7. why did you choose your header?

well i love brightwin, they were a huge part of the reason i made this blog so i like having a win url and a bright layout and technically when i had a twitter i had a bright username so they just complemented each other. 💕

I hate her name being the title of a song (the same way blackpinks album is called the album and their show is called the show and their movie is called the movie, their team really thought they did smth with that🙄) but its fun, and catchy, i can see ppl having fun with the lalisalalisalalisa part in tiktok. i also agree with the other anon about it being more of a performance tho, but it is HER, like theres something about it thats very her! And i like that blackpinks solos have so far been entirely individualistic in terms of what the girls themselves want (even tho we will never be free of the teddy sound lmfao) i hope ppl can just take it fr what it is and not make whole entire discourses that bring her or the other girls down, u can prefer one solo than the other (i like rosie’s :)) but ppl really out here being batshit insane lmfao😂 like i cant even be excited for any solo bc i just KNOW ppl r gonna be crazy!!! Not this rant tho....

Saw your reblog about how racism against Asians is taking so lightly by many, and it's so true. And as a South East Asian, it's even worse for us because of colorism. Idk if you've seen this news in the beginning of this month that a Thai old man was violently knocked to the ground and he died. This made almost no noise even inside our community. But a few days ago, a German radio host made racist comments against BTS (a Korean boy band) and suddenly #RacismIsNotAnOpinion is trending on Twitter

-- I was so mad about that. I'm mad that almost no one, whether it's people outside or inside the community, bat an eye when the old man literally DIED. Don't get me wrong, BTS or anyone doesn't deserve the treatment at all. But I'm mad that the world seemed to care about "us" only when it involves their idols or the common "representatives" of us.

honestly, it is so Gross to me how most people do not care about racism period. they learn surface level takes and think “okay i’m done, i don’t have anymore racism to unlearn” which like... isn’t true? plus anti asian sentiment runs SUPER deep in the usa (even before the interment camps! like it’s one of the few things people learn about but don’t understand that they came about because they were chomping at the bit for an excuse to do that!) and like... it SUCKS that it’s very clear that this plague is just exposing that this particular racism Never Went Away. like people will ALWAYS try to excuse their racism. it’s the one thing that ppl don’t seem to get. and i’m so sorry that u have to experience this particular ugly racism. solidarity, bro.

In my opinion Oh-aew had some sort of crush on Tay (I have to write it this way the dyslexia jumps OUT if I spell it Teh) or like affection whatever even if he didn’t know it which you can see when it manifests now.

(I mean ok I know it’s been one episode but I’m always right)

It’s interesting that he said he can’t handle the pain of losing a friend like that again. I was surprised when he said no to being that close again and that’s when I think it was made clear just how much it meant in retrospect.

The argument was so stupid and I’m not gonna make this explicitly about living in a Society but the idea of choosing and being jealous as if you can’t exist at once. What happens if art is fun? What happens when we realize we all have the lights in us.

When Tay was like I just want him to do poorly there was no basis besides insecurity. It’s such a stupid way of looking at things but human and immature. There’s no explicit guarantee one is better than the other but “nobody can replace anybody else so it would be a shame to make a comparison” (this is a fiona apple lyric) comes to mind. We can’t get to where we’re going together? And obviously that’s not true since they all have their friends that they grew up with.

I also like how it’s not outright opulence. Rich ppl suck and i dont want that in my eyes. I don’t feel bombarded with wealth and a fairytale. As if this would be the sole key to tbe happy ending that all media proposes is a victory in their laziness to ensure and please capital.

But that’s also clearly because this show was taken with immense care at least on the crew’s side. But for the cast yea that too I mean everyone’s so dramatic but it has its flair, very Thai, and they use the vibrancy and the landscape.

But this is what happens when things aren’t made at a constant rate and you try to churn out many episodes.

I find a lot of these shows to be unbearable and I have a high threshold for “good” acting because I’m overly critical and terrible but it was nice seeing them even if it was so much crying. I really love things that capture youth since a lot of mine wasn’t pleasant. The ups and downs are natural for them and it will be ok. They have friends and their city.

Usually I abhor the editing on most of these dramas (these = overwhelmingly the BL genre tho that recent japanese show...love...something idk they meet walking a line was very pretty and digestible) but, if I remember correctly, it’s really good here. In fact I am positive—it does absolute justice to the story. And the writing underlines the subtlety. So much of the show is about being young and exploration and I love it. Honestly, when he was trying to imitate the instagram picture it was just...wow that’s so teenage. I was so embarrassed.

That brings me to something else wrt editing. So a lot of asian dramas are very dramatic which isn’t my favorite thing but it has a clear cultural place so it means a viewer has to adjust to differences and see the merits within an alternate scope. I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever like the dramatic music they put in. I hate those musical cues like no other. This is just my preference and it will always be. I don’t know why it’s so allurin from a creative standpoint; we know the stakes! But it wasn’t so distracting that I couldn’t continue. I think I found the whole thing extremely cinematic so the hyped up musical cues kinda threw me off.

All in all it was very enjoyable and further critiques are minor and something that time can work out like some acting but seriously thag’s mostly nothing and I saw that they had acting coaches in the credit. I think they may have been on set—I haven’t watched the doc—but that’s something people take for granted and I respect it. Seriously. Or if other shows do these ones actually understand how to get their characters from point a to b.

Acting is such a cool art and comes in different atyles but I feel like our responses to it are so intuitive so the deliveryno matter what method has to embody life qualities. I could go on about this but I won’t cause ambien but even if there’s a political approach to acting (Brecht) it is stil rooted in life. For ONCE the cast and crew fix things accordingly (this isn’t just a BL problem but I also wouldn’t classify this as BL I guess gorl IDK im going thru it)

I’m more critical than usual and I’m going through a major artistic crises lol so it was nice. There’s a lot of unrest in Thailand so I won’t forget that people are struggling. I think something that moght get people to look mght is how beautiful it looks and that brings attention to artists. Artists who represent their country, or believe in something, or care and maybe introducing people to Thai film. Art can give us access to whole radical landscapes.

Even tho i’m in favor of pirating always I feel that contributing monetarily means support and it’s a big thing for me (which is why I so often opt out because I don’t support something but should have access to it bc LIFE) and the point is yo contribut and encourage, right? Which is why I believe in sharing, it isn’t capital that drives us to something, we get attracted to the merits and contribute with capital but that means a level if absolute respect back. This means that while I can’t really pay a bunch for the episodes I think I will buy two. Which never happens.

Lastly this is probably one of the worst yrs in existence. I break down crying when I think of lives lost and black people abd being inside and just the pressure of it all. I wouldn’t say escapism tho that has merit but we get to see a fun youthful world that is just missing. It’s missing. As much as I love contemplating on the absurd, theres solace in watching people go about without external pain cementing them

i am the original eurovision anon. i did not send that second one. it is not anti-semitic to value palestinian lives and not support israel's genocide. your eurovision posts weren't tagged when i sent my anon, because i'm not european and i don't know or care to know the names of all the individual countries' musicians. tagging them with eurovision as well would be very helpful and considerate to your middle eastern followers who don't like seeing things related to israel and genocide.

I listened (before ESC) to the band thay represented Italy - I will go back and tagged the band ‘maneskin’ with Eurovision but I didn’t realise that is what you meant (as in me tagging all of the band posts ) because most of the band stuff reblogs aren’t related to Eurovision. I will go back and do it now, I apologise.

As for supporting Palestine, I don’t condone the current genocide., no one should - sorry if I gave off that impression.

1. Do you prefer writing with a black pen or blue pen? black, but what matters most is how smoothly it writes.

2. Would you prefer to live in the country or city? walkable neighborhood in a city. 3. If you could learn a new skill what would it be? would love to learn how to hack into billionaire bank accounts without getting caught so i could redistribute their wealth to a variety of mutual aid funds. :) 4. Do you drink your tea/coffee with sugar? no, just milk! unless it’s really shitty/bitter coffee, and then i will take it with a couple sugars or sweetened creamer.

5. What was your favourite book as a child? probably the Anne of Green Gables books 6. Do you prefer baths or showers? showers! i wanna love a bath, but i get bored too fast and i never feel comfortable (where do i put my head? my feet? what do i do when my belly isn’t covered by the water and it gets cold?) so they’re meh.

Who is a mentor to you? i had a co-worker who was really a mentor for me since i got into being a cheesemonger in 2008. he’s been in the industry for a long time and basically recruited me to the job i have/had here. but when i got sick he basically dropped me/hasn’t spoken to me in a long time. let me tell you: it fucking sucks. bc a mentor is a cross between a friend and a colleague and a relative; we jokingly called him my lesbian uncle. and so losing him from my life so completely over something like this is deeply shitty.

12. Would you like to be famous and if so, what for? not now, but before i was sick i would’ve said yes. BUT only bc i think i would be a great Saturday Night Live host (not a cast member! just a one time host with a monologue/skits). So whatever level of fame i needed to get that..

13. Are you a restless sleeper? I have really bad insomnia that means i take at least an hour to fall asleep most nights. Once I’m out, I usually sleep ok, but i do have intense dreams/nightmares that wake me up sometimes.

14. Do you consider yourself a romantic person? yeah :/

15. Which element best represents you? earth: the wet dirt and leaves in a forest after rain in particular

16. Who do you want to be closer to? emotionally i’m pretty good i think. physically i wish i could be closer to friends and family in NYC, Seattle area, TN/Atlanta, and Germany

17. Do you miss someone at the moment? the people referenced above. also missing my Grandmomma a lot lately and my mom.

Tell us about an early childhood memory. art lessons with my grandmomma. her set of pastels that were all worn down and the heavy paper (black) that she pulled out to work on. she drew a quick portrait of a man, showing me how to create depth in skin tones with blue and green against the softer flesh tones. she didn’t blend it out, the marks all painterly and strong-- her style. i was 10, maybe? 12? so not *early* but it feels like forever ago.

19. What is the strangest thing you have eaten? i have no idea? i’ve eaten a lot of weirdish cheeses. i’ve had geoduck?

20. What are you most thankful for? the amazing friends i’ve gathered into my life along the way, my dad, and my baby dog.

21. Do you like spicy food? yes, within reason (i don’t get stuff that’s spicy just for the heck of it, like ghost pepper chips or whatever? but when spice is integrated in with other flavors i love it)

Have you ever met someone famous? i used to make up stories about meeting famous people that were based on partial truths. i’ve hung out with or met a lot of gay famous people. but the biggest person who comes to mind is Sandra Bernhard. I sold her cheese. 23. Do you do you keep a diary or journal? i have over the years. now i sometimes write things down in a paper journal, but mostly go to a really old blogging site where i basically put all my big feelings down in a public but sorta private spot.

24. Do you prefer to use a pen or a pencil? depends on my mood.

26. Do you like your cereal soggy or crunchy? in between...not HARD crunchy, but not soft soggy.

27. What would you want your legacy to be? would like people to remember that i loved them well and made them feel good/happy when i was around them. and hopefully that it made them feel like being good to others too.

28. Do you like reading, what was the last book you read? i do, but i’m mostly reading fic these days. i think the thing i read last was Pink Like the Paradise Found, which was FANTASTIC!

29. How do you show someone you love them? i tell them, shower them with physical affection, and do little things for them. also try to remember small details about what they enjoy and then do stuff to make them feel good when they’re down

30. Do you like ice in your drinks? yes, but not too much

31. What are you afraid of? sometimes being along but only when it’s very dark out and i’m in the sads. honestly-- this is some deep internalized ableism but here it is --i’m very afraid of never getting better and not being able to take care of myself or anyone else.

32. What is your favourite scent? jasmine flowers, pu-er tea, the specific scents of people i love

33. Do you address older people by their name or surname? however they’re introduced i guess. maybe because i’m an older person lol

If money was not a factor, how would you live your life? i would live in the apartment i had alone (with a guest room). i would hire someone from my community to come help me out sometimes. i would get a weekly grocery delivery from the good quality place. i would have a dog walker. and i would fly home to see my family more than once a year and fly my family out for a visit sometimes. so like. probably the way a lot of ppl live? idk.

35. Do you prefer swimming in pools or the ocean? ocean

36. What would you do if you found £50 on the ground? get dinner at the thai restaurant down the street a couple times.

37. Have you ever seen a shooting star? yes, lots!

What is the one thing you would want to teach your children? i’m not having kids BUT for the kids in my life, i try to teach them/model the importance of consent and respect for their own bodies as well as other people’s. and i know it said one thing, but alongside that is that i respect and love them for who they are, and that’s something they get to decide.

39. If you had to have a tattoo, what would it be and where would you get it? i want a lot of tattoos, but if i could get one tomorrow it would be a cheese themed tattoo with a variety of cheese knives (parm tools, dutch style knife) and a small cheese assortment. or a portrait of my dog

40. What can you hear now? this kinda dumb netflix show that i decided to binge today even tho it’s only kinda meh and my dog snoring just a little.

41. Where do you feel the safest? when i’m surrounded by friends.

Invent a word and it’s meaning. saungry: sadness brought on by being hungry, like hangry except oops you’re crying now! example: “fuck i knew i should’ve eaten before calling my best friend, now i miss them and i’m too saungry to figure out what to eat! Guess I’ll have tears for dinner” (almost called it sungry, but the internet thinks that might just mean ‘so hungry’)
