Oh my, my first ask!! And it's about my aus. You shot me right in the heart!! :D

Okay so first, my offline au. There's a post somewhere that explains where it came from, but I essentially created it after spending long hours in Offline Practice due to unstable internet/in my younger days I was scared of strangers. The basis of the au is the question: What if the bots in offline practice are sentient?

And there are a lot of ways you can take it:

You can see it from the player's perspective, where you are going through your normal day playing on pl_badwater and slowly realize that the bots are avoiding you or playing a little too smart... and then you start noticing nuances in their previously faceless expressions... and then they go off the script.

Or You can see it from the bots' perspective, where you wonder why you've never seen the world beyond the battlefield... or why the hell the enemy team's sniper is wearing a banana on his head, or why he is somehow always a step ahead, or where did he even come from, what happened to the old one what do you mean he never existed

Not to mention the world.. But to keep it simple, the au is basically offline practice played straight. Currently I am focusing on the bot's perspective in relation to the player. In this, the 'bots' are the usual mercenaries, normal, old dudes trying to do their gravel war job, and then there's the player who's well, like any other player. Any other player who just wants some fun and after playing offline practice long enough gets bored enough to try out console commands.

And as you can imagine, it's scary! The au is basically cosmic horror with the player being an eldritch, incomprehensible being to the bots/mercs. I take everything that we do as players, from casually jumping off cliffs to stabbing our teammates in casual fun, and explore it in a serious context from the perspective of normal people like the mercs. Even the greater concepts of TF2 like respawn.. It's a very meta au, and I can go very in depth about the concepts I want to explore and shit, like what it means to be a human being, what meaning can you find in an existence plagued by a being like this, what even is the player, the implications, but I think this post is long enough... so I must forgo. It's just spooky tf2 au hahah!

I should also mention the more lighthearted version which is the training mode au. It's the same thing but instead of the player being scary they're just a newbie and the bots try to teach them how to be decent. It's very cracky lol but I turn to it when the horror gets too much.

Now for the mlp au, unfortunately it's not too fleshed out :[ I mean I have the groundwork laid out in my mind, it's basically my darker, grittier mlp au mixed up with tf2. Though of course it's still got the same friendship is magic concepts, because I don't think making something serious/darker means you have to make it edgy and deprive it of its nature, but yeah. There are concepts I have, like batponies and how their civilization mirrors new zealand sinking but with the whole princess luna being banished, and things but I need more specific questions, it's hard for me to explain generally without making like a 5 page essay xD

Anyway THANK YOU! I am very thrilled to talk about my aus, especially offline au. Maybe I should've broken it up because it's like two seperate aus xD but idk how to do that. I'm sorry if this is less refined than I usually write or disjointed, but I am just very excited. If this isn't what you meant/if you wanted a more in-depth answer, feel free to ask!!

there are two, count em, two fics where soldier either pops up in equestria or has just,,been here,, the whole time for no reason and those two fics have worked perfectly in their own way. now i love this au bc soldier is written in character and yet he still cares and learns a lesson and its SAPPY and SWEET.

also ft equestria girls; rainbow rocks bc i keep. i keep picturing Sniper singing with Twilight (as well as the other mercs and the rest of the mane 6) and its a whole music video in my head with the mercs coming in to help and being excited/annoyed bc they have to sing to win instead of using weapons but getting real into it. its sappy and very cheesy but thats the POINT, that’s the WHOLE POINT, its putting these tough guy mercs in situations that can’t be solved with weapons and have to be solved with ~friendship~

TEAM HORSETRESS 2: aka my silly mlp-adjacent tf2 AU. these are all just messy doodles now but check under cut for more info and xtra doodles :3

i wanted to keep their pony designs pretty close to real life horse colors and patterns both to fit with the style of the game and because i wanted an excuse to learn horse colors and patterns (big thank you to my friend howl for guiding me here :3)

i left off cutiemarks for the most part but they are there i just didn't feel like drawing them. they change color depending on the team :3

also, i might draw them in their outfits too. i forgot to draw spy in his mask because i thought he looked goofy with only the mask and no suit LOL

its been a really long time since ive drawn mlp fanart or even watched it, so this was really fun to do!! i hope you guys enjoy :)

I'm suffering from a burnout but I have decided, in the middle of mane 6 redesign that I'm gonna turn them into tf2 mercs!

Pinkie Pie - Demoman (imo fits better than pyro but I dont dislike that headcanon)

I have turned her into pegasus, it honestly fits her personality much better. Uses her mane to store bombs and is constantly either on a sugar rush or drunk.

Or both.

Rarity - Spy

My least favourite design but I like her cutie mark. Girlie loves her lipsticks

RD - Scout, duh

The quote "I am scout, rainbows make me cry" fits there the best. I gave her a lil more bold haircut.

AJ - Engie

I ship both Rarijack and Engiespy so it was a perfect fit - your local friendly farmer - engineer, which her cutie mark symbolises really well. Lost her hoof using cider making machine - ouch.

Twilight - Heavy

I know a lot of the people headcanon her as sniper but HEAR ME OUT. They both are smart. And Twilight was quite reserved at the begining of the series. I think it fits. Also her being an earth pony, I love it. She would still love science, etc, but would find her ways to fit into more scholar unicorn society without magic.

Fluttershy - Medic

No one will part this girlie with her pigeons. Usually quite shy unless someone mentions either animals or medicine. Also made her an unicorn. It would greatly help her in her exp... Ekhem, medical procedures.

And lastly

Spike - Pyro

He got this plushie from Twilight, how cute! Once he learned how to use fire, he never stopped.

my idea for an mlp-based tf2 au is that changelings are like near extinct as a species so red and blu spy are super special in that regard

and scout is of course half changeling bc spy is his dad so hes like "you know changelings are super rare nowadays but my ma says im actually half changeling so its cool that we have that in common spy" and spy does the whole "does he know?" thing in his head while scout is too stupid to connect the dots

Scout - pegasus (just like his mom, his talent is super speed)

Pyro - dragon (their cutiemark was actually drawn by them to fit in + they think it's cool)

Soldier - earth pony (he doesn't need pegasus wings to fly, he got rocket jumps)

Demo - zebra (I thought about kelpie, since it's Scotland's folklore, but I think zebra fits him more)

Engineer - earth pony (his prosthetic arm helps him build stuff!!)

Heavy - earth pony (just a really big one)

Medic - unicorn (a fucked up one)

Sniper - hippogriff/seapony (IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE if australians are griffons and new zealanders are seaponies IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!!)

Spy - changeling (disguised as a unicorn)

everytime without fail, whenever i get back into TF2, FOR SOME REASON, MLP comes back with it, hand in hoof so now i have this on my hands

au is basically this; the cmc are in tf2, why? i have no clue! magic probably! and now the mercs have to look after them until they can figure out a way for them to get home. it’s basically a slice of life type of story, nothing major or plot heavy, just bits of fluff and adventure bc i thought it’d be funny.

honestly, i have like whole episode ideas that just stem from some mlp songs but thats all this is really, just a funny what if idea i might touch on in the future, who knows? i have like a full episode in my head of that one Hearth’s Warming episode with starlight but its the CMC explaining Hearth’s Warming to the mercs in a play, its a wholesome thing, it’s fun
