Honestly, this season is incredibly healing. Seeing characters be allowed to grow and exist without being "forced" into specific roles is incredibly satisfying, not to mention interesting. Just Izzy alone has made me tear up at his reaction is ep 4 to the crew's kindness, and Ed and Button's conversation had me blown back. It's just...really nice, for once, to see a show that wants to heal, to move on from the atrocities they experienced and become better. To look at their past and refuse to repeat the same mistakes.
The ship is their safe space, and they will maintain that safety by confronting their troubles, even if it's painful.

Anyone who had doubts about Lars Mikkelsen as Thrawn has never actually looked into this man's work. My man plays in crime dramas for a living, specifically Danish ones. If y'all have never experienced those, then I guess I can see where y'all's doubt can come from. But as someone who has (through osmosis, I suppose), I knew this man was perfect for the cold, calculated horror that is Thrawn. Crime dramas are the bread and butter of us Nordics. Cold and calculated are our thing.

The novelisation of the Phantom Menace has made me so incredibly sad, where little Anakin sees an injured Tusken and decides to disobey Watto to sit by the Raider until he wakes up. Anakin has such a deep, loving heart that he was willing to suffer the consequences of disobedience to make sure a Tusken Raider would be safe, a being he was taught all his life were brutal and cruel. And in this chapter, Anakin admits that the only thing that truly scares him, is of losing his mother. That juxtaposition, that note of I will care for this creature to I fear losing my mother, put so much more weight onto AOTC, and of Anakin's rage. He broke, and he lost himself to his rage. When faced with what he did, he rages against the world and his actions, before breaking down into further sobs at the loss of his mother and the actions he made. His worst fear was realised, and he became the monster that everyone claimed the Tuskens to be.
It'll be interesting to read the AOTC novelisation, to see if this scene is ever called back to. I just find it interesting, and further showcases the depths of Anakin's feelings and compassion, as well as the pitfalls that such strong emotions come with. For if you feel compassion and love as deeply as Anakin does, so will you feel the destructive nature of all of your rage. And that, that is Anakin's biggest weakness; he feels too strongly to ever truly control it.

With this death, I beg of all of you, please, be careful around bodies of water. My family lost a wonderful friend a few years back because of drowning, and there has been so many accidents as of late. Always wear life-vests around bodies of water, never go alone, and always tell someone else where you are. Don't be over-confident, the water will win if you're not prepared. Please, take care of yourself.

Everyone when trying the shock collar: *Audible pain at the second and third setting, barely able to have it on with the higher ones*
Me, sitting quietly as the shock is ramped up, barely noticing until the fourth setting that there is indeed something shocking me: Oh was I supposed to be in pain? Oops! This is Pleasant, Actually. What are you guys on about?

Mmm you know what, after now just recently having rewatched Legend of Korra and also having my hands on Turf Wars, Bumblebee wishes it was Korrasami so bad. RWBY's obsession with ATLA - and now LoK - has been apparent for a while now, but this is the last straw for me. Not only are they trying to do the whole "traumatised wlw uwu" thing, but the setting of that scene is eerily similar to Korrasami (though far less beautiful because that final shot is stunning), which makes it all the more uncomfortable to know why they want such a similarity. They want to capitalise on the popularity and love for Korrasami, without understanding why this relationship matters, and why it's praised. Because, back in 2014, a wlw endgame relationship was unheard of. LoK was screwed over time and time again because of the serious tone it took, and especially so with their desire to have Korrasami be the end goal. Turf Wars opens up with a loving and caring introduction about why Korrasami was important to queer rep and queer lives, and the first few pages are not only romantic and showing the two as a couple, but we see them kiss on the pages. The moment they are unshackled from censorship they delve into the queerness they desperately wanted. That's why Korrasami is "allowed" to be as vague as it is; because it wasn't allowed to be anything else.
RWBY, however... It had the possibility of making their wlw pairing canon years ago, but forwent that for the sake of baiting for views. They forewent the representation that would've given so many people joy just for the sake of making sure they continued to get viewers. Honestly, I genuinely think waiting for it to happen now has lessened it, and has made it a cop-out and a desperate grab for attention. What else could it be? Well, it couldn't be as a distraction so people will call RT progressive despite their horrific history with queer people, especially trans people, it couldn't be that. Nah, they just really wanted to make Bumblebee canon, don't worry about the fact they could've done it earlier and that Ice Queendom proved that the chemistry was there and possible since Volume One but couldn't delve into anything because the Mainline Series has to be the first one, nah don't worry about it.
Anyway stop praising this show and get a better taste. Idk, watch ATLA and LoK and read the comics, at least it's all out and not purposefully baiting you for views.

genuine question: What does ask to tag mean?
It's completely fine to ask me stuff like this, so don't worry about that!
"Ask to tag" has, at least as far as I've known from my long time on here, meant something along the line of "if there's anything triggering/a squick/etc. please tell me and I will tag it accordingly". That's at least the way I've always known and used it, as a sort of "I don't know if it needs a tw/cw, but if it does, please tell me!"
I hope that explains it, and if not, you're welcome to ask further questions :)

None of y'all know of this, 'cos probably none of y'all following me are Norwegian, but...I need to scream about this.
One of the biggest Norwegian news publications just published a story slandering a surgeon for performing trans-affirmative care. He is my surgeon, who saved my life and showed me so much love and care when I was being treated. He was kind and gentle, and treated me as myself. The staff at the clinic were wonderful and kind, who showed me so much love and care (and gave me the Tube of Warm Air when I was shaking from cold after emerging from anaesthesia) both before and after my surgery. Seeing these people slander this man, this man who I remember being kind, generous, and comforting, makes me seethe. They are being extremely transphobic as of late, especially with their attacks of Professor Esben Esther Pirelli Benestad, who was one of the only sexologists who did trans healthcare, who is also trans themselves. Existing as trans in my country, where the people who helped save my life are being targeted, is becoming so exhausting. I nearly lost my chance at HRT, but i was so fucking lucky that I managed to get a doctor-in-learning who was so incredibly kind to help me get it. I was fucking lucky. And so many of my trans siblings are not.
I am just. I am just so fucking enraged. Seeing that article yesterday made me want to scream. Seeing the photo of that kind old man who operated on me and gave me my life back, it made me furious. Especially as these "journalists" want to shut down any private trans healthcare so all we have is the National Trans Healthcare Service, which is as transphobic as they come. It's...infuriating. And I will not stop raging

Do not tempt me. I can do a whole deep-dive into why the choice to make Sabine a Padawan is Good Actually if I open my big mouth. And I will, if I see one more apologist moan about the hedonism of making a non-Force sensitive a Padawan

Fuck, man, Gotham Knights is making me cry, and I'm barely into the story. The audio logs have me bawling from emotions, my god. BT-42 is heartbreaking, but BT-70 hits home in such a good way. They really gave us a Bruce who's a dad most of all. That he knows he struggles with words, with explaining his feelings and his desires. Who tried so hard to be a better dad to Jason and blames himself for not being there. Who went to Talia to beg to use the Lazarus on Jason. And it didn't even work, he wasn't able to get that far. He broke his own rules so he could have Jason back, and it didn't work. He was heartbroken when Barbara got hurt, and blames himself for not being there.
This Bruce Wayne is everything I ever wanted. This is what makes Batman Batman.
"Batman should be more like Nightwing".
Absolute king shit

After finishing the main story as Nightwing, and doing all of his missions and villain side-quests, I have this to say:
Gotham Knights is a proper, wonderful Batfamily focused game that has some stellar character writing, incredibly fun interactions with the other characters, and a lived-in world. It's genuinely become one of my favourite games after playing it, even with all my minor complaints. Because it understood what its audience wanted, they understood how to write their characters and environment to create a wonderful story. The characters feel complete, even if it leaves a hunger for more. It's fun, and it's worth all the issues that comes with being an open-world WB game.
My favourite part, funnily enough, is the character we barely see; Bruce. I was left sobbing at several of his voice logs from the absolute emotion in them, from how you could feel what Bruce felt. This is where I have to praise the choice of VA, Michael Antonakos. He was a wonderful cast (and if you know the ending, and know of Deimos from Assassin's Creed Odyssey...perfect casting I swear), with a wonderful understanding of Bruce. His voice logs describe things that, he himself, admit are things he never could say to anyone, because he struggles with words. He struggles, but he manages to make these voice logs as a way to work through some of his issues. It's great, and it shows the flawed yet good side of the man behind the mask. It shows a Batman who's imperfect, who knows he is, but who continues to move forward no matter what. A man who looks at his children with love and pride, whose last actions were to stand in front of the suit cases of his family to die with them. God, they really wrote a wonderful Bruce.
I also cannot stress enough how much I love all of the Bats. Whilst I played mainly as Dick, every interaction with the other characters made me love them more. I especially loved Jason, and how certain scenes with him you could feel the fact he's going through therapy and is starting to feel good again. As an example, the second Tim personal mission is excellent to showcase this, where you really notice how Jason's grown from being able to get the help he needs. They made all of their characters feel real, and I honestly cannot wait to play as them to discover more of their stories.
But, I do have to address some of the downsides, because whilst I will heartedly recommend this game to those who enjoy Batfamily content, I will have to warn about its...quirks. It's an open-world game, which means tiring, exhausting missions and quests, a lot of running around in confusion, certain mechanics not communicated properly, and a very specific combat system. A fun system, from my personal opinion, but very different from a lot of other AAA WB games. It's grindy, but if you can handle that...a definitive recommendation. Just...be prepared for what you're getting in to.
But honestly, after 35 hours and counting... I love this game. And I wish people didn't judge it for not being the Arkham game they expected it to be. It's not, and that's why it's good. Because it's its own thing, with its own story and its own world. It's not Arkham, and that's why it's great.
