Artist Spotlight: Veronique Medrano (Active 2013-Present)

I've been slowly getting into Tejano music over the past 8 years or so (thanks to Selena, of course) so when I heard about this modern tejano female singer - I just had to check her out! And I was most certainly not disappointed. I managed to snag a copy of her 2018 album Lotería and went iTunes crazy on the rest. Then, Mezcal María came out and I was completely sold - it is such a cool song!!

Just last week, her album MexiAmericana came out and I am already completely obsessed. It is such a great mixture of Spanish language tejano, regional Mexican and English bluegrass/country. Hoping for a CD release soon!

Standout tracks: Mezcal María, Hola y Adiós, Tamale Man, Dear Dorothy, ¡Que Hueva!
