What Can I Do? - Hanako
A/N: It has been sooo long since I’ve written for this fandom lol. I’m in the process of writing for everyone on my masterlist, so I spin a wheel that decides what character I write, then I spin another wheel that gives me a prompt theme. So I hope this is alright!
Prompt/s used: Person A is feeling down and Person B does not like to see them this way, so they start to bring them food, a nice cup of tea and their favorite blanket.
The colors produced by the setting sun leaked in through the open bathroom window, reflecting off of the mirrors and casting themselves across the stalls. There was a cool afternoon breeze drifting in through the window, gently pushing the hair from your face. You sat against the wall below said window, legs pressed against your chest. You had been there for a while, enjoying the peace and quiet of the bathroom. Hanako was nowhere to be found, so you decided to seek shelter in the empty bathroom.
Tears brimmed your eyes. You stopped crying an hour ago, but you couldn’t help but still be teary eyed. You had been having a really rough time lately, and all of the pressure and stress had built up inside you, ultimately leading you to have a breakdown, skipping your last class to hide out in the old bathroom. You were hoping Hanako would be there to keep you company, but alas, he wasn’t. So you sat and watched as the moke stared at you from the doorway, whispering about you. You didn’t mind, and you didn’t say anything to them as they whispered away.
One of Hanako’s hakujodi flew through the doorway, making its way over to you. It floated down in front of your face, and you reached out to touch it, hand falling through the apparition slowly. You smiled sadly at it, watching its small movements as it hovered around you.
“There you are!” Hanako said loudly. “You weren’t in class, so I sent the hakujodi out to find you!” The ghost flew over to you, hovering a few feet away. His seemingly happy expression dropped to one of worry as he took in your state. You were sure you looked terrible, eyes red and puffy, clothing disheveled and hair a tangled mess from your breakdown. You turned your gaze from Hanako over to the stall doors in shame. You still looked upset, and Hanako didn’t want to cause you to cry again. The poor ghost wanted to help you but didn’t know how to fix the situation without asking.
You watched as Hanako left out of the corner of your eye, and a tear fell down your cheek. You knew this was bound to happen. Hanako would finally have enough of your breakdowns and low moments and would leave you for good. Hugging your knees tighter to your chest, you buried your face and cried again.
A moment later you felt a weight drape across your shoulder and on top of your head. You lifted your head ever so slightly to catch a glimpse of Hanako sitting in front of you. He offered you a gentle smile.
“Hi,” he said softly. “Can I sit with you?”
You nodded, and whatever was draped over you fell in your eyes. You changed your posture to sit up straighter, shaking hands moving what you realized to be Hanako’s hat out of your eyes. Hanako reached out and pulled the blanket he draped over your shoulders tighter around you.
“I’m assuming you haven’t eaten yet, so I brought you some leftovers from the cafeteria.” He pushed a tray of food towards you. “Please eat. It’ll make you feel better.” You noticed a steaming mug of your favorite tea on the tray. Smiling, you picked up the mug, lifting it to your lips.
“Thank you, Hanako.” Your voice was raspy due to your tears but the ghost didn’t mind.
“I don’t like seeing you sad,” Hanako pouted. “It hurts.” His words warmed your heart. The longer you sat with the deceased boy, the calmer you felt. He didn’t pressure you to talk about what had made you so upset, and he didn’t force you to do anything you weren’t ready to do.
True to his word, you did feel better after eating. Your strength was coming back to you. The tea helped to soothe your throat and make you feel more at peace. The blanket wrapped around you made you feel warm and safe, and with that came the blissfulness of being tired. Hanako moved to sit beside you, maneuvering you to rest your head on his shoulder.
“Rest now,” he whispered. “I’ll keep you safe.”
His hat fell over your eyes again, blocking out the lasting remnants of the setting sun. You gave in to the dreariness that was overtaking you, fully resting your weight against Hanako. His cool body temperature was comforting against the warmth of your favorite blanket.
Once you had dozed off, Hanako rested his head on top of yours. He hated seeing you so upset, but the boy was happy he was able to help you calm down.

- The first couple times he will let it happen
- Then he will notice how often it is happening
- But after a while he wouldn’t let it slide anymore
- He will force you to pay attention to his words
- He gets even happier when he sees how red you get knowing you can’t escape him with a excuse
- “Your lips look divine, I would love to kiss them~” Hanako grinned as he floated to you and wrapped his arms around your waist
- “OMG IS THAT A BIRD-“ you tried to push him away but the grip on your waist was tight as he put his fingers under your chin so you look back at him
- “You should be paying attention to me~”
- Your blushing face only fuels this
- He will constantly keep you in his hold whispering little flirts in your ear to make you have butterflies
- He will quickly shut down any excuse you have, not allowing you to run away from him
- He would be the one to make excuses at the end of this
- He will get into his cute mode and tease you about how head over heals you are for him
- This will also cause you to become even more flushed
- Inside you are sad its over and he knows that
- It’s all apart of his teasing
- After a while you should just give into him because he won't leave you alone until he gets what he wants
- and if he wants your kisses, then he is getting your kisses

- If anyone dares say anything that is bad about you in the middle of a fight, he will fight that person himself
- He will pull you away from a fight and try to calm you down
- But the moment someone calls you a bitch, he’s throwing hands
- And he’s a very skilled fighter, he battles supernaturals so other humans are easy for him
- He will proceed to break this person physically
- Then he will break his reputation then break him mentally

- If the principal get mad then he will come in with a whole presentation on how you didn’t do it
- He will get videos from the fight, showing proof that you did nothing
- He will try and find dirt on the guy too

- He is your partner in crime

- But he will give the person you are watching a deadly glare when you are not looking
- This dude might stumble up because he's afraid of what Akane would do to him if he lays a finger on you

- If you end up getting hurt in this fight… lets just say it doesn't end well
- He will defend you in front of everyone, hurting this person back and calling this whole fight off
- He will attend to your injuries, no matter how small
- He will make sure you are okay then he will find whoever hurt you
- He will beat them and he will show no mercy
- Like this person might just go missing-
- Don’t be shocked if he kills them
- Anyone who hurts his s/o doesn’t deserve to live<3
- If you ever go to the principal for violence, he would be so mad
- He will use his perks as the vice principal to help you
- He will find so much dirt on the person you were fighting and show the principal, you will be a saint in the principals eyes
- He had probably gotten you out of so many situations that you lost count
- He will always support his s/o no matter what!
- She is calmly concerned
- You are very energetic compared to her so a lot of people wondered how you two got together
- If you were trying to fight someone for whatever reason, she would tell you that it isn't worth it and to let it go
- The moments you did listen to her she was very grateful
- The moments you didn’t however…
- She wasn’t angry but she would prefer you spend time with her rather than fighting some guy
- She also won't let anyone hurt you
- While she isn’t a fighter, she isn’t afraid so beat someone to defend you
- She might even convince Tsukasa to do something to keep him away from you
- And you know how Tsukasa is…
- However, she will keep you protected as much as she can
- She will also help with your injuries after, giving each one a kiss as she wraps it with a cloth
- She will ask you to stop fighting, not wanting you to get hurt or get in trouble
- She will try and plead with you
- She is really worried about your safety
- If you do get in trouble, she won't be able to do much to get you out of it but she will be with you the whole time
- She will sit in detention with you and read, hoping her company has a positive effect for you
- After detention she will give you a bit of a ‘I told you so’ knowing that you would get in trouble
- She will probably also have video evidence to get the other guy expelled
- So he won't be seeing you for a bit if Tsukasa didn’t already intervene for fun

Hanako finding out you’re getting bullied!
Tears were streaming down your face as you ran through the halls and into your favorite bathroom. The bathroom that belonged to your friend.. or maybe you were more??
You couldn’t think of that at the moment as so many things bended your mind and flooded your senses.
You felt those salty tears go into your mouth and into your nose. Your face was hot and your head was pounding.
The faucet ran cold water and you splashed it repeatedly onto your face. The water went down your neck and spilled onto your dress.
No cares filled your head though because all you wanted was for everyone and everything to go away.
You looked into the mirror and saw your reflection.
Your cheeks were burning, eyes red and puffy and your lips trembling. Your curls were sticking out in different direction and the glossy lip gloss you were wearing was smudged.
“I really am a mess, aren’t I?” You mumbled to yourself with a dry chuckle.
And as those words you left you could feel the hairs on your neck rise as a loud voice rang out.
“How dare you! My Y/n, you aren’t a mess!” The ghost yelled out.
“Hanako! What did I tell you about Privacy!” You pouted at the boy whilst drying off your face with a paper towel.
Hanako was going to say something but stopped. He took a good look at you and his brows furrowed.
“What happened to you?” He stopped floating and stood in front of you, hesitant to do anything.
You didn’t want to say anything, but you know how persistent he can be.. You made eye contact with him and melted.
“Don’t do anything stupid?” You asked, giving him a knowing look.
“..Ok! Sure!”
Not convincing but ok.
“It was just a few bullies. Nothing more really.” You smiled at him.
“Obviously it’s more than that if you’re in here crying and.. is that a black eye??” Hanako practically growled at you.
“Calm down! It’ll go away in like.. a week? I don’t know. But it doesn’t matter.”
“Calm down? When someone’s hurting you?!” He sucked in a breath, “You’re not ok! And you’ve been avoiding me these last few days if I may add..” he pouted like a puppy and crossed his arms.
“Hanako, you’re overreacting! You have other ppl to talk to like Nene, Kou.. the other wonders!” You smiled at his pouting figure, “Besides.. I just don’t see what you see in me.”
His eyebrows shut up and his jaw dropped.
“Y/n/n! You know I adore your presence! You don’t try to attack or hit me every five seconds! And you’re not clingy like Tsukasa, and you actually don’t complain about cleaning the bathroom.. sometimes.” He exclaimed loudly.
But then it went silent.
“Hey! You distracted me there for a second.. tell me what’s really happening though, Y/n! It’s not right.. I don’t like when I see you hurt..” he looked at his shoes, away from you, “Especially since I can’t do anything about it.. it makes my blood boil.”
Your eyes go wide and it goes silent again. Just the small sounds of the water dripping out of the faucet.
“Hanako.. I’ve been dealing with this for years. I’m used to it! It’s just.. you know how only a couple of us can really see you? One of the girls found out I talk to ‘myself’ in here soo you know! She kinda just started saying I’m crazy, I’m talking to ghosts and you know how this goes.” You showed him your red knuckles, “So I punched her and she punched me back.” You laughed at that, making Hanako let out a small chuckle as well.
“Y/n?”
“Yes?”
“I hope you know I cherish you more than anything on this earth.. so please tell me if anything’s going on from now on?”
Your eyes soften at the boy and you kid your head with a smile.
“I will, Hanako.”
