Happy Monday fandom :) I love these episodes for them. I know they’re not always a fan favorite but I adore them. Just for the Chenford content alone. The married moments, the touching, the sassy banter. What’s not to love? Just like I did for 3x07 I’ll just be analyzing their moments in this ep. Since they’re disconnected from rest of group for most part. Let's get going shall we?

4x16 Real Crime

Sunshine x Grumpy at it's absolute finest kicking this episode off. Lucy is so jazzed to be back. Her little foot kick after she asks how they are? I cannot. She’s so cute. Tim is already over it from the moment his sexy ass hits that chair. It’s so friggin funny. Our king of expressions is on one in this ep. Tim judges Lucy the entire time with serious sass throw in. Their banter mode is on right away and never turns off. We start off with them asking Tim if he saw the last one? Of course he didn't...

Why would he? The only way he would watch it is if Lucy forced him to. haha Lucy rolling her eyes at his answer but with a hint of fondness. She loves her grumpy old man so much. The married train has officially left the station. All aboard. The ride is gonna be hilarious. Tim gets them back on track saying they were first responders to the scene. Tim notes how frustrating it was with all the cameras and coverage nobody saw anything. Nothing useful for the investigation. I mean that is ridiculous tbh. I'm with him on that one.

Lucy tries to add colorful sound bites and Tim is judging her so damn hard. The amount of sass in that second gif. He was not about that line at all. Like who are you right now? Their mini fight in front of the interviewer I’m dying. ‘Why are you SO happy?’ 'I'm being colorful!' LMFAO Lucy defends why she’s doing this and Tim can’t believe it. The bickering in hushed tones is too funny. Like a true couple. Lucy imitating a wife scolding her husband while defending herself.

God I love these idiots sfm. Naturally this is the last thing Tim wants to be doing. The shake of his head above is one of many to come. We all know he would much rather be out on the streets than dealing with this circus. Lucy going the opposite direction. Wanting to get them as many segments as possible We all know the less he's in this the better for him. He barely wants to be in the amount he's in now. heh

This next section is one of my faves. First off I love and commend Lucy’s confidence to just rap in public. I adore her so very much. She couldn’t be cuter in this episode if she tried. Of course she has a karaoke jam I adore her. She is more than happy to share this info. We’ve talked about Eric’s comedic timing. He is absolute gold in this.

His reactions from start to finish are what make this portion so amusing. Goes from 'Huh?' to 'WTF is happening?' It's so funny every time I watch it. Tim doesn't need to say anything. His facial expressions say it all. The sheer amount of judgement he is throwing her way is immense. This is the woman you’ve chosen to love Timothy LOL

Lucy is in her own world as she jams this out. Tim is next her with all the judgment he can muster. These moments are one of the many reasons why he loves her though. Just being 100 percent herself no shame in the game. We know it’s these types of goobery scenes that he actually enjoys from her. She looks so joyful and happy when she turns to sing at him. Then she see's his reaction.... Prompting the iconic line below that always makes me laugh.

Tim’s confusion of her rapping is everything I have to say. I think she’s partly trying to impress him with her rapping skills. He doesn’t give her anything though. LOL They’re so cute I might burst. The marriage moment to end this scene is the best. ‘Can I be interviewed alone? ‘ LMFAO. She is already over his grumpy ass and I’m laughing so hard. Eric and Melissa play off each other so well. It’s a delight to watch them. They have so much chemistry just sitting next to one another. It''s unreal.

We flit back to them talking about Aaron’s father’s musical partner. Tim delivers a ‘colorful’ sound bit of his own. Lucy is beaming with pride. So much so she has to say to make sure it's noted. Interrupting to heap on that praise. Then casually touches his arm. Not a short touch either. It's 4 seconds. Yes I counted heh She lingers. I love watching Tim get all fidgety and hot under the collar after she does this.

Wringing his hands to shake off the feelings washing over him. Trying not to have his feelings recorded for this documentary. Too late... It’s so cute because one he clearly got a little contact high off that touch. Two she just complimented him publicly with the proudest look on her face. He is riding high ha Look at her. That is proud wifey mode right there. Especially after he thanks her for the compliment.

She tries to put herself back in check but is brimming with giddiness. It's adorable. I cannot with these two. *heart clutch* Be more in love please. It's one of those 'Everyone knows but them moments.' He’s also just so cute when he says ‘Thanks..’ haha Oh my Timothy you are so out of your depth with this documentary. But so adorable I wanna squeeze you. Part me of thinks he was trying to get into this for Lucy. Impress her a little with his quote. Mission accomplished sir. Your girl was very proud. Love these idiots in love so much.

Their chemistry is so palpable in these scenes. They're asked a question about the knife in Aaron's kitchen. Saying his DNA was all over the murder weapon. Well duh....Lucy slams the interviewer hard with some solid logic and sass. They're trying to implicate Aaron for having DNA all over the knife in his kitchen... Lucy absolutely destroys this guy's stupid question. Then starts to feel bad afterwards. Checks in with hubby and asks if that was too mean?

Lucy couldn't be cuter turning to her person for feedback. Her immediate reaction to do so getting me all in the feels. I adore him backing her like he does. She looks to him for reassurance and he gives it to her in spades. Saying no that it actually felt good. To be able to stick it to them a bit. You know he is proud of her for doing so. Instead of doing an evocative soundbite she knocked them down a peg. He didn't need to help her in the dept. But the support one? Nailed it.

I love her proud and smug face when he says it was a dumb question. Careful Lucy your feelings are showing my love. Look at her in that first gif. She a ten but crap at hiding her feelings. The second gif is that same look she always gets when he compliments her. *sigh* I just love them. He backs her so fiercely here and Lucy is so ecstatic with his reply. It’s all over her face especially in the last one. That smug smile when he validates her is everything fo her. Basically saying my hubby says I'm right so that means I am haha

Tag team of smug righteousness and it’s amazing. He is oozing proudness in this moment for her. He followed it up with having her back and she’s a happy girl. Let’s not forget the gloriousness that is Tim’s biceps and forearms out on display. Mmm defending his girl and his arms are crossed? Pass the ice water imma need it. This man is deliciously fit and I too am a happy girl in this moment.

The case leads them to a woman named Colette who was brought home to their apt that same night. She had a controlling BF that was never questioned. Cue back to Lucy and Tim. Lucy explaining how a group of internet sleuths found him. How they spent countless hours investigating Aaron’s case. Tim notes this group also pointed the finger at a lot of innocent people ruining their lives… Lucy comments some of the members went little too far.... That's putting it lightly. lol

It’s here the interviewer reveals a prominent poster named ‘truecrimejunkie.’ Implying it’s Lucy who posts under that name. The amount of sass Tim is throwing her way is hysterical. I'm laughing so very hard. Tim’s reaction is the best part of this whole scene. It’s the intense stare down he does. This episode has me laughing from beginning to end. The way he fully turns to her is hilarious. Making fun of his wife with just a look. Lucy stumbling around for words and coming up short.

That moment when your husband finds out about your secret internet life LOL Lucy could not be more embarrassed. Stuttering trying to defend herself to Tim. It’s so funny. It finishes off with Tim’s ‘Seriously?’ Eric and Melissa are a god damn treasure. We are so lucky to have them. It's truly mind blowing the chemistry these two have just with their banter alone. What makes these episodes so very good with their segments. They are the best part with their back and forth. I love this episode for them. I defy you not to laugh or smile with this one.

It comes out Aaron’s mom was in Paris the day Patrick was murdered. Lucy gets all hyped up when they ask what they thought of this? The true crime junkie in her coming out. Saying what a game changer it was. Tim brings her back down to earth with his reply. Lucy doing her cute ‘Well yeah…’

Tim shaking his head. Not at her but this whole documentary. He hates the feelings/people being exploited in this whole thing. Doesn’t sit well with him at all. Once again proving Tim is just a good man on the daily. Not trying to impress anyone with it. It's just who he is as person. His integrity deeply ingrained in him.

Unlike the clown. He's not even in this one but I had to point this out and take a shot. lol Also let's not ignore the GLORIOUS forearm/bicep porn here. My god it's a miracle his work shirt contains those guns of his. Bursting at the seams with muscled goodness. I’m here for it. He could bench press me any day. I'm available is all I'm saying...

We cut back to Tim and Lucy talking about the case being closed. They have their killer finally. Aaron has been exonerated in the process. She starts on another ‘colorful’ bit and stops herself. Rubbing her tattoo feeling how wrong this is. The way she stops herself mid sentence knowing this. Tim jumping in saying ‘Feels gross doesn’t it?’ She agrees and says 'Yeah.'

Look at Lucy growing in this documentary at the end. No longer wanting to do 'colorful' sound bites to get them more time. Being much more focused on respecting those involved. Her ending statement is much better than her potential ‘juicy sound bite’ Look at our babies still growing. I love this episode. So nice to have after a clown fueled previous ep.

Patrick’s dad coming to apologize to Aaron was a really nice way to close that chapter of his life. Was very sweet.

The first time i watched one piece was in tv when i was young. I started from ep 15 or something after usopp got introduced. I didn't intend to watch it tbh since i was just killing time. THEN came baratie arc and there was sanji and i found myself obsessed with it??? Like whenever he appear my eyes follow him and i got charmed by his fighting style, his story and the way he smoke (i have something for characters that smoke lmao) i remember my younger brother also loved him and was his fave. Then we reached alabasta and the channel stopped broadcasting it and i was really sad so i made a promise to myself to watch it when i get older. Years later i found myself watching videos and edits of SANJI AGAIN and i was like "i will watch it someday, I SWEAR it'll happen but not now" (i dont know what i was waiting for). My last straw was film red. I got excited with the trailer and the hype so i finally started watching it. It was totally a different experience than years ago. The story, the characters, the arcs and the japanese VAs hit different 🤌. All this eventful experience just because i got attached to a character lol. It kinda changed my life like I DONT KNOW WHO I WAS BEFORE WATCHING ONE PIECE it became a big part of me. One day i was chilling with myself and wondering what got me this obsessed with one piece (afterall i was young when i first watched it so i forgot the reason) when it suddenly hit me and i realized that i had a crush on SANJI??? Like it took me years to connect the dots and IT JUST MAKES SENSE since i'm so inlove with his character (even though luffy is my fave and sanji come in second). This turned a bit long 😅 i just wanted to share one of the reasons why sanji is so important to me but DAMN HOW IS IT HARD BEING HIS FAN IN THIS FANDOM

LMAO you got a crush on SANJI that's so embarrassing anon genuinely <------- definitely doesn't like Sanji sosososo much to the point she wants to die

But fr I'm glad you've found some love and light in One Piece, the whole "who was I before One Piece??" like so fucking true WHO WAS I?? I can't remember anymore, One Piece is like that soulmate you can't believe you used to live without. How strange...

Ok guys I had a busy day but managed to watch the anime rn and OH GOOOOD THAT WAS SO FUCKING COOL‼️‼️ I'm gonna be breaking it down cause oh my god. Spoilers ahead ofc

CGI parts - Oh they ATE here!!! I was absolutely worried about the CGI even if it looked cool on the trailer. They tend to look SCARY or just goofy. But THEY ABSOLUTELY DEVOURED HERE??? The little Bae song in the beginning was really good on its own but the CGI made it 10x better, the phantom illusions look really cool and actually blend together pretty well despise them being really different. Allen's phoenix kept stealing the spotlight tho😭😭. I'm really happy about them still using their existing songs instead of a brand new soundtrack like some franchises do (side eye-ing hypmic), when bang started playing I was genuinely so happy. And now I'm really looking forward to see if they animate some of my faves like Rowdiez, 4 real or Back off plsplsplspls. My finish thoughts here are: This outsold, and if we get a game with the same sort of cgi I would be so so SO happy.

Music! - They had that new Bae song, Rise Up, in the first few seconds. I dare to say it's one of the best I've heard from Bae even if it was just a little part, looking forward to a full release!! I also noticed various instrumentals playing in the bg as they introduced the groups. I was expecting to hear their songs from op show but was surprised to hear songs from random stage battle rounds. Akyr with Outsiderz, Czmz with Ain't no love and Tcw with Faith. That was a pretty cool detail ngl.... I hope to see some new songs for the others apart from Bae. That'd be pretty nice

Characters - Oh they made some intense Bae worldbuilding. We already had a pretty good grasp of their dynamic but they summarized them so well to the newcomers in just a chapter; Allen being hip-hop pilled and a bit goofy, Hajun smiley wangja, Anne in the middle messing with them both. I also really liked the detail of them being in a series of casual clothing, cause imagining everyone having to wear the amount of clothes they wear on stage on a regular basis was seriously hurting my brain. They had various outfit changes and I LOVE that. Good for the animators and charac designers cause having 3 outfit changes for Bae in a single ep was probably a hassle😭😭

Now the negative part.

Story - It is a story indeed!! Ngl, I don't like that paradevi creature at all. It's like a weird vtuber model of MikoshibaKen's fursona (THE VIBES AND COLORS ARE GIVING KENTA). I think it's pretty good for the older fans cause we already know everything, but newcomers would be really lost tbh. They speedran the beginning and gave a really quick context for Buraikan and Club Paradox cause they're only having 12 eps, I get it, but it'll still be confusing I bet. And not being able to see the context of how everyone got the invitation fully fledged out like in the VD, they missed the chance of some key characterization SPECIALLY for the twins. I think akyr and tcw were pretty straightforward but skipping when Kanata was escaping the thugs feels outright criminal, they just showed them there watching the weird creature talk shit THEY MISSED A BIG CHANCE but I still get it. 12 eps. Still frustrates me. They made everything pretty Bae centred as well, which I get cause they're the main gang, but the good thing of Voice Dramas was not having a protag and always being able to see all the povs from all the characters instead of sticking to a single group, that allowed us to know and explore everyone and their traumas individually, and that's missing in this first ep. Maybe it gets better, maybe they're pulling a hypmic having every episode centred around a different group (pretty sure it's this), but so far I was like "oh god this is really confusing". But besides that, I really like it!!!! Miren a mis gatos

Only Friends Ranking - Ep 3

Just accept that this is going to be a weekly thing, self. Because these mfers keep making me switch it up. I can't even pretend to be annoyed, tbh.

Characters (Most to Least Fave atm)

Boston - not this motherfucker out here doing the most. And not me genuinely not knowing where the truth ends and the lie begins. If it does. Because honestly? Resetting his own virginity sounds exactly like something Mew would do, especially if Ray was too drunk to remember that it ever happened. As far as Mew knows it was just the two of them - it's not like he suspected Boston was being a creep and recording them - and however he felt or feels about Ray it clearly suits him to pretend nothing ever happened. I would fully believe they did have sex, tbh. And I would fully believe it of Boston to hold onto the evidence and play along as if he didn't know for his own ends, until he has a good time to pull it out (like he literally said Mew is a virgin who can't drive to Top in ep 1). I can't even be mad at him for it. I'm too busy cackling with unholy glee. Whatever games everyone is playing, Boston is the one winning at the moment.

Nick - Except this dude right here is now going to be the one in a position to fuck shit up. This dude is set up to go full on insane and a part of me can't wait. Personally, I hope he uses it to blackmail Boston into exclusivity. Why? My own amusement, mostly. I hope he does that and Boston can't do anything but comply (because he does seem absolutely terrified of Mew actually finding out - which is how we all should know that what he's doing probably has very little to do with Mew and much more to do with Boston and Boston's hangups about himself). And then when he finally gets Boston out of his system he should send the file to Mew. As a final goodbye. Yep, he's shady, we knew he was shady, this comes as no surprise to me. Might as well use what he has to get something of what he wants until he can find something or someone new to fixate on.

Sand - I never thought I'd demote him but I'm kind of bored. Whatever I wanted from him, I'm not getting it. I swear to god if he doesn't pick up a baseball bat at some point...but yes, he's just not giving me what I want and that's fine, not every character can be for me. I just feel currently, in ep three, like they gave him the most bland, almost predictable edit: he's gonna fall for Ray's shit despite himself, he probably had an ex that Top fucked and he hates him good for it, he probably had a parent (my guess is dad) who drove drunk or was killed by a drunk driver and now he has trauma surrounding it, he's going to put up with Ray and be jealous of Mew and probably cry from ep 5 on but hey, the good part is that this edit more than likely means that he has the best chance of getting out of this heartbroken but not in prison or dead. Just don't get in a car with Ray again.

There are two things that that kept him in the third spot today and not further down for the severe crime of disappointing me: the first was flipping off Top. That was hilarious. Even though I fully expect the problems between them to be about an ex and not that they are exes (I swear to god my poor bingo card is just gonna have one thing crossed out by the time this show ends; this hurts me why do you have to kill all my TopSand exes dreams, show? Why do you hate fun?), that was a great interaction and I want more. The second is that there are still times when he's looking at Ray that I don't see fondness, reluctant or otherwise. I see a man assessing how likely it is that the animal in front of him is going to bite. But more and more I am beginning to think I'm delusional because the guarded, emotionally unavailable man I sometimes think I see in Sand is not the one I'm getting in scenes like one in the car after the party (actually he was so smiley and easy in that scene I at first thought he was drunk. Have some pride, dude. I know you're twenty two and dumb but yeesh).

So yes. Three because he made me laugh and because I've still got the clown shoes on, if not the facepaint and orange wig.

Mew - I still think he's being manipulative, but not at Top this ep. I don't think it was coincidence that every time Ray's attention strayed from him this ep, he was right there to give him some encouragement. Ray might have been drunk when he confessed to Mew two years ago (and I'm betting he was, it's his whole thing), but you better believe Mew remembers, and I get the impression that for whatever reason - genuine feeling, wanting to be special, boredom, etc - Mew very very much wants to make sure that Ray never really looks away from him. Part of me wonders if he is kinda into him but he also knows what a bad decision he is, so he's waiting for Ray to clean himself up or for someone else to do the work to help Ray clean himself up (hi, Sand!) before he swoops in to claim the well-adjusted person that's left. If so, kudos dude. I mean that. Because the one thing that tends to be true about the fixer uppers is that they rarely stay with the person who puts in the work.

Even with that though, Mew fell flat for me this ep. And frankly I will be a bit annoyed if it turns out that he isn't actually a virgin, not because I think his virginity is Important but because I liked the idea of a virgin being as sexually confident as he is.

But also if he slept with Ray his whole speech in ep one to Top about how he'd get if he slept with him is taking on a whole new light. Just putting that out there.

That said, I do not think that the call to Ray was part of that manipulation, unless it's manipulative to know which person will come help you no matter what. I'd have called Ray too. He's the only one of Mew's friends who will drop any and everything for him, and a tipsy dude needs to sleep. In all fairness he tried Top first (foreshadowing for endgame, maybe?)

Top - He will get a pass from me on the anger if and only if it turned out that Mew and Ray actually fucked and I will tell you why. Because I would be furious too, but not about the virginity thing. Or Ray being the one he slept with. I would be furious because Mew has been harping on honesty this entire time while lying to him about this thing, this thing that he's actually using as both shield and weapon in their little battle of wills. Sure, Top wants to conquer the virgin or whatever and that's weird but I'm not gonna fixate on it because I already know how people get about virgins, especially when they start to get into their twenties (it's always either being almost afraid like virginity is catching or fixating on being the one to take it like it's a raffle prize), but for me personally the lying while demanding honesty is the thing. And Mew does wield his virgin status like a weapon.

But here's the thing. If he isn't. If Boston isn't lying his ass off or manipulating a situation to seem like something it isn't. If he in fact did sleep with Ray two years ago and then just decided to pretend otherwise because as far as he knew no one was the wiser. Now Top knows. He knows that Mew is a liar and that he's not above telling the kind of lies that can break things.

He's been mostly playing by Mew's rules. But if all of that is true...he won't be anymore. And that's where Mew's gonna get way out of his depth. Because as manipulative as Mew can be, I definitely think Top is better when it comes to this kind of game.

The reason he is so low is because he knows better than to just trust Boston's word. He should have asked, or done something else, anything else but just trust that Boston wasn't being a manipulative turd. He knows Boston wants him, he knows that he's got a ruthless streak. And he mostly went to him in the end because he was mad Mew put him off again. It's also because if Boston didn't show him a full on sex tape, then he's not only stupid but he's entitled. A kiss two years ago is nothing. A love confession two years ago is nothing. Hell, sex two years ago is nothing, if it weren't for the lying.

but at least he's not as low as

Ray - I keep seeing that Ray doesn't know what he's doing, following Sand around and begging him for time and attention constantly. Yes he fucking does. He just doesn't care. He's exactly like Boston, only I will give him that he isn't trying to pretend that he's after more than he is to keep Sand around. Sand's big, beautiful, dumb head is doing most of the work there.

Sand is convenient and fun now. Doesn't ask him for anything and lets him basically get away with being a total dick with a smile and a shake of the head. Of course Ray likes him and wants to be around him. But wait until Sand stops being convenient. As all people eventually do.

But no, I don't blame him for picking up Mew's call mid makeout or for leaving Sand to go to him. I wouldn't even if it wasn't that Mew was tipsy and didn't have his key. The dude has said over and over again that he just wants sex. He's given no indication he's going to give anything else - oh, he'll happily demand and take more from Sand for sure, because he's selfish and he doesn't think past his own immediate pleasure when it comes to him - but he's not offering himself. That was never on the table,

He's low because he annoys me. And because I do actually think that he sees that Sand likes him more than he's willing to reciprocate, but he just flat out doesn't care enough about Sand to care if he hurts himself over it. Ray wants what he wants, and if Sand ever even hints that what Ray wants isn't enough for him Ray will throw their FWB status in his face so hard it'll rattle his teeth. We've already seen him do it more than once here, and Sand wasn't even asking for more, just trying to warn Ray how he was coming off!

He'll leave Sand for Mew again, too. Mark my words. It'll happen over and over until Sand (hopefully) finally gets it through his gorgeous skull that he's fighting a battle he can only lose and puts and end to it (and then Ray will probably have a rich kid tantrum about it because his toys aren't allowed to decide he no longer gets to play with them). And then when you throw his alcohol issues into the mix...

I have a feeling Ray saw his only time above the low end of this list last week. It was a good run. I am still delighted that I aggressively dislike this character though. Between this and Kang from Dangerous Romance this is apparently my era to dislike characters played by some of my favorite actors and I am living.

I am not even putting my girl Chueam on the list because she had like four lines this week. But hey, now we know Title is playing her bro! I was wondering when he would show up. And I wonder if he still has some connection to Sand, since he did in that one chart Jojo posted forever and a year ago (I am also wondering if Yo is related to them as well - big sis?)

Relationships

The only relationships I am interested in this week are the ones we don't know much about. Top and Sand, Nick and Sand, Sand and Boston. Kinda sorta Ray and Mew in that I really want to know if they did the do or not (that they will eventually smash is taken as read by me, but I am curious if it happened before too), and whether Mew's apparent disinterest is real or he's just waiting for Ray to get his shit together to be the kind of boyfriend Mew wants.

But if I had to pick an "established" couple (insofar as any of these guys are established, lol), I think I'm most interested in Boston and Nick right now. Least interested in Ray and Sand, but that's par for the course.

Top and Mew I expect to fight Nick and Boston for the number one spot next Sat.

In Conclusion

We're getting some real mess and I for one couldn't be happier. Full speed ahead on the messy train, Nick come on out and go hogwild. Give our boy Boston a run for his money.

I expect we won't see fallout from the car event in the messy olympics for an episode or two. Mew and Top gotta work through the Ray issue (or pretend to), and they both have to settle back into believing that they have the other one right where they want them (or, maybe, actually start to like each other). Nick has to decide what he's gonna do and how much havoc he wants to wreak (my guess is he'll let Boston or Sand talk him into sitting on it for a while, if Boston finds out. But that won't laaaaast). Ray has to maneuver Sand around his own wariness (shouldn't take long) and into the pale imitation of what he really wants with someone else.

They've all gotta get comfortable. But not too comfortable. What would be the fun in that?

- flux and timeless child mention ahhhhh I kinda am obsessed with it and I really hope it's a sign that rtd is gonna explore it a bit more (which based on xmas special info he seemingly is). I love the way it ended with 13 but there's defo room there to explore more about how the doctor really feels about it all and accepting it. bc it's one thing to decide you don't want the memories but it's another to actually come to terms with it all

- the doctor joking around with donna about dying is my fave I miss the doctor being like this fr (that's NOT a chib diss)

- the timeless child and flux mentions and the doctor finally being open with someone but then it ends up not actually being donna oh I'm gonna lose my whole mind I'm so obsessed with that scene and then meanwhile donna figures out she's with the fake doctor like the genius she is

- and THEN the doctor's little tantrum that I and most others was clowning on before the ep came out but actually it ends up being kinda harrowing liiiiike woah

- obsessed with the scene where they're separated by the glass wall

- fake donna in the tardis and real donna stuck out there.. ctate actor of all time

- I really did think for a second that donna was gonna die on first watch and how wild would that have been especially if the doctor didn't end up noticing fake donna and we were stuck with her for the giggle. probably woulda been a nightmare tbh so I'm glad it didn't happen but also idk

- donna saying the doctor timed getting back to avoid the awkward convo makes me think of all the times chib had shit happen to avoid having the doctor and (usually) yaz complete a convo, it used to drive me crazy it was so annoying

in a show thats about Killing and yk treats it as a joke to make him choke moxxie and have it genuinly feel threating was just awesome

Striker just eats with almost everything he did in the ep and the voice only made it better i even honestly like his second voice actor too but that may be cuz i am based

and yk its all good until the next time he Shows up and they start to make jokes 🥲 and its like WHY like he even swears like all the time which he didnt before and it takes from his whole vibe away ☹️ but yk i can forgive that cuz he literally Kidnapped stolas and the fact that hes working for stella gives him that lil hypocritic that i just love so i was yea its okay especially when he was on that horse 😙

and the fight scene was also awesome and i tbh found even "Harder" joke funny Where he just keeps having his fights be sexual and hes like wtf ACUTALLY if that would have been his first 'fuck' in the show it would have been 💯 funnier

but u could like feel that he gotten a whole less scary even tho he acutally harmed stolas

and that that mess of the third ep where he still has this cool vibe but its just completly runied by the fact that hes not scary that he has in the lost his cool and every other character is just weirdly useless next to him

him working with moxxies dad could be Potential for Angst tol but i honestly dont like Striker working with ppl i Think he is that loner and it fits him yk? but thats fine until he totally loses to blitzo and fizz even if his other fights were so cool? and now he looks like a rat which is still funny but kinda sad yk?

its Basically i can appricate the funny parts but its also so sad to his such a cool character be the butt of a joke 🥲 like it ruins him

BUT i still love him and i wish we acutally got to know more? like his Mixed , hates royals , is homeless and works with stella? like the Potential is so wasted

OMG YES the fight scene in ep 5!!!!! kiyao telling him 'have you ever thought that I might like/love you too' hit me so hard I actually had to pause. it is one my fave scenes on the whole show maybe only up there with the actual confession scene at the end and kiyao crying telling hira that he is not a god he is just an ordinary man. incredible. also I've caught up with the second season and you should definitely watch it, it is just as good as the first one in my opinion. sorry for rambling!

ahhhh YES that episode 5 fight scene is easily one of my favorite argument scenes of all time — if not also my favorite confession scene (if it counts as one?) — because every line of dialogue really just fuckin hits you right in the chest. it's such an excellent piece of character-driven conflict too because everything we've learned about their personalities and their feelings towards each other has inevitably been leading them to this point. it's not pure miscommunication. it's not contrived. it is a fundamental difference in their world outlooks and perceptions of each other that had to come crashing together sooner or later.

(i think i have a tag essay somewhere about this scene too bc every time i think of it i can't shut up about it lol - if i find it I'll link it in the replies)

the second confession scene later in the episode is the resolution of this conflict, so in my head they're kind of two parts of the same whole? i sometimes forget which lines happen when but both parts are fucking phenomenal. the acting, writing, all of it is just *chefs kiss*

i can't wait to see more of them in S2, in can't believe we even got a S2 tbh but i am NOT complaining 💕

heyyy! i was wondering if you liked the os2 episodes of bbts!!! i noticed you shared some stuff regarding the first two episodes. did you enjoy eps 3 and 4 as well?

i never get asks, this is so exciting??? (probably because i don't actually spend enough time on tumblr...i was kind of starting to be on here a bit and then got depressed by a lot of the negative reactions to @end-otw-racism during their first action. but tbh getting an ask actually makes me want to engage more so THANK YOU ANON)

okay, my os2 feelings! i talked about this a bit on my twitter so i'm going to recreate some of that here, haha. but the short version is: yes, i enjoyed the whole thing! i think episode one was my favorite because i lovedddd the patpran dynamic we got there - watching pran be confident but also settled in love felt amazing to me, and i loved the little domestic notes. i think my second-favorite episode was actually the last one - not so much because i think it was a well-constructed episode (it was a little all over the place, tbh), but i ADORED the phutian ending after having felt like their relationship was getting kind of shafted for most of the special. also we got to see inkpa again!

it's hard to talk about my own feelings though about it without reflecting on the disappointment a lot of people i know have felt about the special. and i certainly understand and agree with a LOT of the critiques, they are completely valid. but i guess i'll explain a bit more about why i liked the special anyway.

firstly, i think i came into it with the feeling that because bbs is such a perfect narrative, anything we got in os2 would be a bonus, and that i could take or leave the parts i liked and didn't like to apply to my own personal love of bbs - especially since it did take place in the timeskip instead of the ending. and i especially felt this way because of knowing that there was a crossover with atots.

i think that one of the issues with crossovers in general is they force shows to draw kind of contrived parallels between characters and pairings. and similarly i think crossovers require characters to be matched up in scenes together just so you see their contrasts. so that's why we had to have two separate nights of lost in the woods, so that we could get pran & phupha as well as tian & pat. could they have done better with making parallels that made more sense for both couples? sure. but i wasn't totally surprised that the crossover parts felt clunky/over-worked. i also think crossovers prioritize humorous moments over character-building ones. they're just really not a good vehicle for storytelling imo - they're more just about seeing your faves up on screen together.

as far as patpran's conflict in these episodes - again, totally valid & understandable that people are upset & feel like it was unresolved! for me, though, it felt like a pretty natural part of their progression as a couple. my friend @/siri_dechawat on twitter has a great thread about it that i totally agree with. and also i think it's worth thinking about how long patpran's history is, how many old hurts they still have that probably aren't fully resolved. i was once in a relationship that reminds me of that, a relationship that had six years of fraught history before it got happy, and my recollection is that by the time you get to the place where you're secure in that kind of relationship, you don't always revisit those old hurts because you have the feeling that now you're happy, so why look back so much? but they can still flare up and it can be hard to talk about them, so you try to work through them yourself and that isn't always easy.

to me, the fact that patpran kept up a lot of their usual dynamic - teasing, competing, cuddling, even while they're in the middle of a fight - felt very organic. they can't always say exactly what they're feeling, but they still express affection. and for me, the fact that they were having this fight at all about pran's independence & pat's self-sacrifice wasn't at all going backwards from the original show. the second half of bbs doesn't actually have them resolving a lot of those things out loud.

at the end of the day, while this is the last time we'll see patpran onscreen (sob), it's not their ending. it's not even the ending that we see of them. we know where they end up by ep 12 and it's pretty perfect imo. and the fact that they are not always perfect at communicating along the way is okay with me. we know they end up on the same page (ha) even if these episodes had some conflict around that. we know where their love is.

okay i said all this and i stand by it, but also if you have read any of my fic you know that i LOVE writing canon-divergence AUs, so i did a series of them for os2 as well based on prompts i got on twitter! i ended up with twelve separate "what if" scenarios for how various scenes in the special could have gone differently - just episodes one through three, because i wasn't as much in a writing mood after the last one - and i collected them together in an ao3 post called in another lifetime. i think my favorite ones within there are mountain, a h/c ficlet patpran do actually make it up pha pun dao, and secrets, an extension of the last patpran scene in episode three. so if you were unsatisfied by various scenes in the special, maybe you will like these as fix-its? :D? anyway thank you again anon for the ask!!!! maybe i will try to be on tumblr more again...

csm first half op + eds ranking hehe

op 1: KICK BACK tbh wasnt a massive fan of the song when i came out but its grown on me w the full context & lyrics it slayed idc NOW THE VISUALS ... filled me w euphoria when i first saw it have (re)watched half the fucking movies referenced ONLY BC MIDTERMS WAS BEATING MY ASS .. so creative and fun and dynamic and hectic as fuck the timing and directing on this is like incomprehensibly good. its funny asf and has such beautiful lively enviornments and lighting and such a cohesive feel despite how batshit everything is NO ONE HAS TALKED ABT THE SHOT W THE MOUNTAINS AND SKY AND THE BULLETS. AM I THE ONLY OEN WHOSE INSANE ABT THAT ONE. so so beautiful literally a look into the minds of fujimoto and the ani staff and a gift upon this earth. 10/10

ed 1: SUCH A GOOD SONG !!!!!!! fit super well w the end of the first ep & is just genuinely such a banger. credits roll was smart for the airing of the actual ep, helped me take in the whole ep and appreciate the best parts of it. the mv released on mappas channel is rly solid considering it just recycled scenes from the actual ep !! love first half of the vid + the zoom in on pochitas tail the most ofc !! 6/10 bc the song is a banger but its just no as obsessable bc of the lack of og visuals :(

ed 2: GORGEOUSSS VISUALS tho it doesn’t feel v well aligned w the tone of csm BUT STILL !!!! song aligns super well w the visuals atleast & i love love the look of the animation, the environments especially are so beautiful 😭 i think the denji falling into the sky scene were especially well timed w the music and made me v emo about his character. esp love the hayakawa fam focus and how power is literally the one who PULLS HIM BACK DOWN .. beloveds 7.5/10 ok i like it picasso

ed 3: FAVE SONG its so good. so much to say abt this one rapid change of scene linework shading color sfx is fucking insane each unique aes makes me physically ill its so good. so gripping the TRANSITION from makima goddess to hayakawa fam W THE DOOR. AND THE TRAUMA. fave part is the hayakawa family shots towards the end that combined w the lyrics perfectly encapsulates what csm is thematically to me. goretastic insanity used as a means of making the intensely human obviously doomed connections at the heart of the story that much more impactful. fully embraces the best parts of csm and rips my heart out all in the course of 90 seconds 10/10 idc idc

ed 4: POWAAA !!!! song is such a fucking banger i mean it this shit has had me dancing for weeks BUT THE VISUALS .... so dynamic and insane love how they played dress up w her and also made sure the audience knew she was a lil freak. theres so much to love and appreciate about the visuals and how fucking sick the movements are and the colors but truly this ones just vibes. 9/10

ed 5: fs my FAVE of all the ones currently out (i think this is the most popular opinion lmao) but the combination of the frantic, very dense visuals and a rly cool fast paced song scratched smth in my brain. so much inspiration to dig through and BEAUTIFUL use of colors, lighting, and effects animation omg. Those shots of himeno are stapled on the inside of my eyelids i love them. so many art references w/ a great selection to specifically represent the chaos of the eternity devil love the use of optical illusions (ONCE AGAIN W THE LIGHTING !!!) and use of timing to create a jarring effect (horses running in slo mo (same w some shots of the chs) immediately being contrasted w rapid movement/blinking of eyes, fireworks, shots of the sky w the clouds racing across) as well as the rapid changing of one shot to another is so insane. another detail i love is that it has a almost collage like look bc each background/piece of ch or effects animation has dif linework, uses dif brushes, as well very unique lighting and shading. also so so much to dissect w how it foreshadows later events (if u start looking there are like. 4 dif instances of guns in this bitch holy fuck) and the themes of the work as a whole but i have classes a life etc that will have to wait til winter break. so genuinely obsessed w this one it was literally the one that convinced me (most obnoxious csm fan) that mappa knows exactly what theyre doing and are likely making the actual anime the way they are as a deliberate commitment to make it even more insane later down the line. i am a drastic rapid tonal shifts enjoyer i love this ed 10/10 its my gf

ed 6: not a massive fan of the visuals or the song for this one :( the instrumental of the song felt kinda jarring after the sequence of denji jumping into the eternity devils mouth, i was def expecting a dif kind of vibe. the visuals were cool, but i don't feel like the static characters were used particularly well. some of the transitions and “camera” movements also rly didn't feel very well suited to the cuts they were in. my fave part was the settings and backgrounds, especially the textures and the way the movement “through” the bgs were done, tho the 5th ed had a very similar concept and i think executed it better. kind of disappointing with how much i enjoyed the prev eds, but it was still enjoyable to watch and analyze how they constructed the visuals. 4/10 bc i respect what they were trying to do i just dont think they had the time to develop a unique vision

so, I really liked season 6 - here's some general thoughts and opinions

I mean, I hated what happened to Tara and I don't think I'll ever get over it, she was my fave - I literally took like a month break from watching after 6x19 because I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Tara

but it was a really good season (not close to how amazing s5 was but still great l)

I loved Buffy dealing with being back, though her relationship with Spike was getting annoying tbh 😂 at first I felt bad for Spike with how Buffy was playing with him all the time, up until that bathroom scene tbh

also, tbh in 6x22 I couldn't care less about Spike's side of the episode but omg he got his soul back?? I'm really curious about what's gonna happen now ngl 👀

Willow and Tara were my fave part of this season, loved how they portrayed Willow struggling with her addiction to magic etc - and, again, how could they take Tara away from us 😭💔

I was so here for Dark Willow, I was 💯 rooting for her (tho I probably was supposed to be against her but fuck it, I wanted revenge too) 😂😂 the show could've ended here with Willow actually destroying the world and I'd still be with her, what even is the point without Tara 😭

I think I'm starting to like Anya a bit more (she's still annoying tho) and I like that she's a vengeance demon again

and I definitely dislike Xander now, for many reasons that I ready expressed in other posts I think 😂 he's just so infuriating, and at this point I'm pretty sure part of my dislike must be the actor, because I saw him in criminal minds too and I'm annoyed every second he's on screen (it's never for long but I hope he stops showing up altogether soon lol - I'm on s7 there too 😂) I genuinely wish Willow eneded up killing Xander at the end there lol

and omg I was SO sick of Anya and Xander's relationship and of hearing about the wedding and don't get me started on how Xander just left her at the altar, and how he handled all that (I have a whole other post about it, not gonna get into it again)

I love that Giles didn't die, I genuinely got worried there for a second, but I'm so happy he didn't 😂 missed him when he wasn't there tbh (tho that laughing scene with Buffy was a bit weird and went on for way too long 😂)

the trio weren't the best villains but also not the worst, they were more competent than I initially gave them credit for and Warren was seriously gross and evil and got what he deserved haha

also, I saw that so many people love the musical episode and it's the top rated eps on imdb, but I lowkey hated it - not the worst episode of the series but definitely far from fave 😂 the worst episode of the season was definitely 6x15 - as you were - with fucking Riley back 🤢 god I hated that one so much, almost as much as beer bad (the actual worst episode of the series so far imo) 😂😂

the finale was insane and I loved it - tho that scene with Willow and Xander was kinda meh and lowkey anticlimactic? idk I was underwhelmed 😂😂 him just repeating 'I love you' was too cheesy even for me tbh, and because I don't like Xander, I probably liked it less than I normally would've anyway 😂 (so it might be just my bias, I admit haha)

tho tbh I also wish we got more of Dark Willow than just, what was it, three episodes? would've been even better haha

but overall, it was a good season, tho I'm never gonna forgive them for killing off Tara - despite that, I did enjoy it a lot and can't wait to start s7 soon 😁

ohhh shit, okay. so.

cql was the most draining show - it's amazing and so enticing but i had never watched anything from the wuxia genre before so it was A Lot..i would not rewatch it tbh, maybe the special addition if i miss wangxian too much 💞 it's so tragic and i'm always at risk of The Feels when i come across any cql or mdzs post, not to mention the yi city arc which fucked me up in a particular way...

woh doesn't make me as emotional because everyone is insane? it's actually impressive how unhinged every single person in the show is, the stories are tragic too, especially the last episodes but i was kind of numb to it, decided to focus on my guys and their happy ending only ✌️

woh gave me wen kexing, visuals (the designs of the characters are wild, espeecially the ghosts, they're straight out of a children's book, so expressive and individualistic) and the most blatant expression of romance they could - not only could you feel the love through each gaze, touch and action but boundaries were pushed in terms of script and the portrayal of physical affection was more than what they had to do. also i'm obsessed with the lipreading videos <3

cql and mdzs are still distant to me and i feel like an outsider to the fandom but i feel the same way about woh. cql introduced me to wuxia, i see posts about it more often and i feel like i remember the characters and events better. not to mention i got into mxtx bc of it so i have it to thank for the blast i have when im reading svsss. so ig i have to pick the untamed? but woh really is special, i hope ppl watch it

TMS2!! i am sure s1 is great but it just didn't leave a lasting impression on me, it was the second season that had me shaking in excitement and yelling at the screen and going through tumblr to read analyses and stuff. it made me care about seojoon and jiwoo soo much and even if in the future i find the first season better in retrospect, s2 is my baby (and it got me so excited bout daseul's vision for blueming 2 🥰)

Pawin in Star in my Mind or in The Eclipse or in Never Let Me Go?

ohh that's interesting..maithee, namo and phum are all annoying but supportive losers lol

i dont have much of an opinion on any of them like phum was a villain for most of the show and then he had a glow up and became a rich hottie with a cute boyfriend, namo was a decoy that suddenly became a part of the squad and i dont remember much about maithee in the og show honestly.. based on the our skyy 2 episodes, i'll go with namo - he gave off sweet supportive kid who just wants to be loved and that's pathetic and cute <3 (tho maithee deserves betterrr)

Palm or Tinn?

in terms of whipped, i think i'd go with palm. man is borderline crazy for nueng, it's impressive. with their our skyy 2 eps out it's confirmed it's not just teen hormones lol

when it comes to my personal fave...they're both precious and frustrate me a lot but ig i'd go with tinn - i think of his reaction to gun rawring at him, about him coming back with those grocery bags.. he's so intense and awkward and devoted but it's not in the way palm is (which makes even me a bit uncomfortable hahah)

eat Noey's over salted food OR Tan's 'dr bun wont eat that' instant(ly failed) noodles?

i cannot deal with salty food, i'm more sensitive to salt than others so whatever noey's cooking has got going on that makes others spit it out immediately? not for me. nuh uh.

i can't find tan's noodles but i found the chicken scene and boyy that is probably salty on top of burnt and with disgusting texture soo (also burnt on the outside raw on the inside is wildd)

yeah. noey's food. small bites, lots of water - if it's otherwise tasty then i'll take a day to finish it, it's cool. :') (on a side note they'd both look with such anticipation and nervousness and wide eyes and aaa reminds me of dfqc, i love it when bad cooks try their best and realise they suck lol)

1: Sexuality headcanon = Tbh I kiiinda feel like Doughy would grow up to realize he's Gay? Like even with that whole "thing" w/ Ms. Sculptham, I feel like that was moreso a twisted desperation for Doughy to feel parental love (since he never got that at home)? Or idk, that was just the vibe I got from the ep .3.

2: Otp = Hmmm, nothing really comes to mind OTP-wise tbh... but maybe I could see Doughy with Tommy down the line? :o

3: Brotp = Him and Orel, of course! ^^ They may have their ups and downs but at the end of the day they'll always be there for eachother 👍

4: Notp = Him x Ms. Sculptham OR Cecil Creepler... not even gonna touch those 🤢🤢

5: First headcanon that pops into my head = He's a total cat person, having always wanted a kitten of his own (but knowing his parents, he's not exactly allowed to have one ^^; ). Would grow up to at least own 3 when he becomes an adult though.

6: Favorite line from this character = "Orel... I think... I'm going... to scream-" (idk his whole delivery there was always really funny to me lol)

7: One way in which I relate to this character = I was often left to my own devices while my parents were busy when I was a kid

8: Thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character = While I don't approve of how Doughy treated Orel in "Trigger"... at the same time, I'm always stumped to see people using that as an excuse to bash on Doughy/call him a bad friend, entirely? Like... you guys do realize that it was Clay who manipulated Doughy against his best bud to begin with (mind you, all as part of a ploy to "teach" Orel how to shoot), right? I know Doughy did a bad thing and all... buuut idk, I feel its best to just cut him some slack there tbh 🤷‍♀️

9: Cinnamon roll or problematic fave? = May not always behave to a "cinnamon roll" level, but I still see him as a good kid at heart nonetheless 😊

Once again you’ve convinced me to watch a show. Just finished the Silmarillion last night and now I’m ready for Rings of Power LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO

Omg you make me feel so powerful hahaha. I'm so glad you're going to watch, I hope you like it!!

You probably already know Amazon doesn't have rights to the Silmarillion BUT that being said, I think reading it gives you a great base of knowledge to appreciate the show (which is not a universal or even popular opinion, but I stand by it!). Obviously a lot of the Second Age is covered in the LOTR Appendices (which they do have rights to) so they're basing the show around that and connecting the dots in what I think is an interesting and creative way so far. If you enjoyed reading Akallabêth and then the chapter on the Rings of Power which follows I think you'll enjoy the show—those were always my fave parts of the Silm (which is a beast to get through, I don't know I could get through the whole thing again tbh, so I am impressed). Imo the writers also do some clever things to allude to the Kinslaying, etc, though legally they can't outright depict it.

Anyway, I really hope you enjoy the show! I felt like it really gained it's footing by ep 3, even though I loved eps 1 and 2. The cast is so wonderful and it's just so cool to be back in Middle Earth, I feel like I'm thirteen again haha.

1. If you had to watch one drama forever what would it be?

Uhm. Tbh I’m not much of a rewatcher, at least not very often, so this feels like some elaborate method of torture lmao

Maybe The Miracle of Teddy Bear because it’s super long with a lot of different storylines so it won’t be boring (until it kills me dead in the last ep).

Or maybe Gen Y because lmao lmao at least it’s entertaining 🤡

2. If you could change the ending of a drama which one would it be?

If there won’t be another season of Kinnporsche I’d just want some closure for KimChay. It doesn’t even necessarily have to be a happily ever after, just something more than crying alone in a room that isn’t even Chay’s room (he looked so lonely and trapped 😭) with a future that’s uncertain. And don’t even get me started on Kim.

Also, I need to see Korn lose. 😒

3. Name your favorite drama and tell who your favorite character was.

I can’t choose, I have so many and they change so often. 😭

I have a soft spot for Our Days and Mon is definitely one of my favourite characters. I have so much love for everyone involved in this production in general. 💜💜

Other than that, there’s Teh (ITSAY & IPYTM), Bar (En of Love, Love Mechanics), Toh (SCOY), Ae (Love By Chance), Prakan (Dear Doctor) aaand I want to say Kim (Kinnporsche) but there simply wasn’t enough of him in the show to count as a fave lmao

4. Name a drama you dropped within the first few episodes ~ we all have at least one!

Right now, it’s Check Out. I love Best Vittawin so, so much, but I can’t watch this. I can’t. I’m too weak. I’m sorry, Best, I failed you. 💀

5. Name a popular drama you've never watched and why?

You’re my Sky & Light On Me. Idk the stars just weren’t aligned, I guess. Maybe I’ll pick them up later when my watchlist isn’t as full (yeah, right lmao).

6. Name a drama you regret watching.

Hm. Maybe the second part of Love Area? I had a soft spot for the first half and I love Kaitoon as a character (and his actor too - I hope he’s going to be in another drama eventually) but wtf was that? I didn’t even mind the open/bad ending. Sometimes things just don’t work out and sometimes people are just toxic for each other but... make it make sense, at least! What’s with all of these side characters? Why did you underutilise Jeff Satur? Why did the screenwriters hate Nont so much? And the sound editing and continuity were really rough all of a sudden.

7. Name a drama you thought you’d never watch but did and did you end up liking it?

Uh. Probably 2Moons2. I read about the controversies before I watched the show and I was prepared to hate it but then I didn’t. I actually really liked it (for what it was... I mean, it isn’t a masterpiece or anything lmao).

8. Name a pairing you want to see?

Prom Ratchapat & Mark Siwat. They better deliver on that cameo because now I’m invested!

Also, Mos Panuwat & Bank Mondop because I love their travel vlogs so much. Actual hearteyes, they’re so 💜💜💜

And Perth Nakhun & Nodt Nutthasid because we all need at least one ghostship. 🤡

9. Name a pairing you didn’t think had chemistry?

Thanu & Wayu in Gen Y. What even was that? Like, what was the goal there? Was I too hung up on Thanu/Phai and Pha/Wayu to see it? I feel like if they had just allowed the actors to use their natural chemistry (like it shone through in the funny scenes) everything would have been fine but instead they just stared at each other during their “romantic scenes” and managed to convey not a single emotion that way. AND PHA DIED FOR WHAT? 😤

Also, Best Vittawin and Chahub Marut. They just don’t work for me tbh but it could just be that Check Out is so ?? ???

10. Name a pairing you have seen in another drama that you like?

Uh, as in - a drama I haven’t watched but where I like the pairing? Or a pairing that’s been in several dramas?

Idk I’m confused but I think Jame Kasama & Jet Jetsadakorn are Starhunter’s best acting pair and it’s time they realised that and gave them another show (Big can come too, as a treat).
