"so which boys are back in town?" well.... almost all of them?

this was a very nice little set up for the finale. i was worried we were gonna get another plot heavy episode and the end would be super rushed, but that's not the case. they even name dropped the title of episode 15 which had me immediately like 👀

tarkin is a bastard as always. crosshair refusing to give up the batch - including omega - breaks my heart. i also love how they show how fucked up he is by the torture by the way he misses shots - two of them. his whole thing is that he never misses. i'm also getting the sense that emerie only has this job because it pays the bills (her line about her access card not getting crosshair outside makes me think she's not even free to leave) and that she might be an ally next week.

it was good to see riyo with an obviously established halfway home setup in the martez' garage for deserted or rescued clones, but there's still no cody :( and rex was only there in spirit. no phee this episode either which hurted my little tephee shipper heart.

i'm super glad we got to see new clones! i would already die for fireball and the fact that he's wearing 41st ranger armor (like gree and jek in rots) and he and howzer clearly know each other has me 👀 about howzer possibly being assigned there before ryloth.

"fireball" also is the name of a clone pilot captain in the 501st's gold squadron. he showed up in clone wars gambit and we know he had bright red hair with a black streak, liked to play turbodarts, and went by fib for short. so it could also be that he wasn't originally a pilot, was crosstrained, and then got transferred back to ground in the 41st later in the war and so we have a fifth captain to add to keeli, rex, howzer, and wilco's fanon squad.

(i would also die for nemec but i forgot his name and was consumed by fireball's wiki page and various writer-of-fanfic-shaped thoughts)

it was also great to see gregor wearing his gold again and fucking bizarre to see echo without a kama.

speaking of echo, his exchange with hunter was enlightening. echo's really intense about this, even moreso than before, and part of me wonders if that's because he's doing this because fives would, because he's come across so many apathetic brothers he tried to recruit and defaulted to the schpiel, or because both.

by far the best moment, though - even better than tech teaching omega to fly and the "tech turn" - was omega throwing herself into echo's arms and the way he just caught and held her. it's so obvious he misses her too. that's his kid your honor.

this is... actually my new favorite episode, just barely ahead of last week's.

All of you fucking bitches who argued that the Bad Batch left Crosshair behind because "surely the empire will be around to pick him up asap" despite the empire doing aerial bombardment and fucking off can

EAT MY FUCKING SHOES

32 days. Crosshair out on a platform with nothing to eat, no respite from the weather or the sun, and god knows what drinking water... For 32 days.

They left him to fucking die and I'm not even interested in an arc where he rejoins them any more.

I hope he finds his own new family and they actually appreciate him.

how can't the sky be beautifull if Tech is on it?, T-T honestly one of may fav clone troopers, I thought that on this season Crosshair or Echo were going to die, I did not espect that plot. Now without Tech is going to be hard the next missions when he was the hacker of the team.

But Idk, I hope for a plottwist on season 3 where he actually survive.

cody was EXACTLY what crosshair needed. like someone who's SO fundamentally kind and good, someone who'll fight for people, someone who IS a good soldier, a perfect one infact and STILL questions orders. orders he's PROGRAMMED to obey. i wholeheartedly believe this was a turning point in crosshair's story.

OF COURSE HE DIDN'T

I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that the Batch weren't created until after 99's death which means they didn't exist before the war. They belong to a people that only existed a single decade before the war, and all of that time was spent preparing for the war. Their entire purpose of creation and the only thing they were allowed to have interests related to was the war.

SO OF COURSE TECH NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT THAT WAY

I doubt Echo has either - or Rex, or Cody, or Wolffe, or Howzer, or any clone at all. It's one of those things you don't even realize you've been thinking until someone points it out - of course the separatist planets and their people were made for the war, after all, the clones were. They may have artifacts and culture going back thousands of years before the war, but so does Kamino. A planet is just a place to live right?

The clones as a culture and individually are so young - even by developmental age, they're young. (Tolkien had it right, no one should be allowed to be an adult until 33.) Obviously everyone else is just like them, just not clones and not combat trained.

So OF COURSE they wouldn't think of the Separatist worlds and people as cultures established long, long ago - they probably don't think of Republic worlds like that either - even with all the reading the higher ups likely had to do for tactical purposes. It just genuinely wouldn't cross their minds.

Crosshair may get a redemption arc for US, but the Batch needs one for HIM. They never properly addressed how they abandonned him and never tried to rescue him when they knew he was being manipulated.

They don't deserve him.

TBB SEASON 2 FINALE:

SPOILERS BELLOW THE CUT!

First and foremost- all of the TBB writers can suck my proverbial dick!

Secondly- WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!

Frankly, I am wholeheartedly refusing to believe Tech is dead. Yes, I am in denial and I don’t care.

His ‘death’ happened far too suddenly and it felt like it was glossed over too quickly. If Echo and Gregor can survive being blown sky high, if Maul can survive literally being cut in half then Tech can survive that fall somehow.

Seriously, if anyone can survive that fall then it’s Tech, plain and simple. No one will convince me that he wouldn’t have used his (albeit minimal) time during the fall to calculate his best chance of survival and manoeuvre himself accordingly. I mean for godsakes the man broke his femur and still hobbled around like it was no one's business.

The fall left him severely, life-threateningly injured but alive nonetheless. The empire has him. Hemlock having his goggles is proof enough of that for me.

No body = No death, end of discussion.

And to those I've seen ragging on Hunter, saying he doesn't care or barely showed any emotion towards Tech's 'death', kindly shut the fuck up.

Clearly, Hunter was compartmentalising his feelings for the sake of the rest of the squad. He's their leader, and making sure they're safe and alright is his number one priority. Just because there wasn't much outward projection of his feelings in that moment doesn't mean they weren't there!

Had Cid not sold them out (fuck her too by the way), and had they gotten back to Pabu like he'd suggested I know damn well Hunter would've had his feelings then. If they'd gotten back to Pabu and he'd seen that physically Omega, Wrecker and Echo were okay then and only then would Hunter have allowed himself to have his emotions.
