Overjoyed!
Literally beaming with happiness, today I was able to acquire a dream purchase of mine. I got a mountable black wolf pelt. He's absolutely huge!!! Along with him, I got a beautiful coyote rug. The way they mounted his face is brilliant.

Halloween
Little Halloween photo shoot with my lovely dog Marlow. He’s been forever obsessed with trying to get into my study, so I think he found it pretty fun/interesting to finally be allowed in here to explore and touch things. He showed great restraint despite the amount of interesting smells and textures.

Introducing The Skull Index - A public collaborative resource website.
You might have seen the post @dread-doughnuts made a while back!
While there are various skull resource sites on the web usually dedicated to a certain museum collection or a few museum collections of skulls. This is the first public collaboration skull resource website led by a small team of 5 individuals.
Do you collect skulls? Enjoy collecting and sharing helpful data such as measurements to help compare against other specimens? Consider becoming a collaborator! We currently have over 400 confirmed species on the index, and many more to come!
We are also in touch with various museums and educational institutions across the world, and hope to add some rarer specimens and hopefully extinct vertebrates at the end of the year!
Our hope is that this website will be helpful for anyone. From researchers to students and artists, or to people who are simply interested in bones and skulls and just want to look at neat photos or compare skulls against their own collection for identification help!
Please note that the Skull Index is a work-in-progress website! Most pages for species have not been made yet, our team is working hard on editing photos, compiling the information, and adding new content every day.
Keep up to date with news, join the community hub of visitors, and collaborators, and network with people from the museum industry in our DISCORD SERVER (Please note our server is 18+ only due to privacy and safety).

Not dog related but have you been to Kuopio? My wife and I are planning to move there in a few years and I’m just curious what your thoughts might be as someone who actually lives in Finland. Also do you enjoy a cold dip after sauna or is that not really your thing?
I used to live in Kuopio! Spent my early childhood there. I still visit several times a year, it's one of those home-away-from-home places for me.
I don't enjoy cold, I rarely swim and I barely ever go to sauna (it always makes me feel sort of light-headed), so not my thing really :'> But if you think you might enjoy, like, the temperature shock and the adrenaline rush go for it.
#answered#ephemeralprince#I was a preschooler when we moved out and haven't lived there since so I can't really give any tips on what to do#I recommend the Kuopio museum though! it has a good natural history collection if you don't mind taxidermy#and a lifesize mammoth replica that traumatized my baby brother back in the day#I'm generalizing of course but Kuopio is probably pretty easy town to move to by Finnish standards#people are likely to speak English#and folks from Savo are typically considered to be reasonably social and chatty compared to some other regions

WIP foxies
The lighter one has been degreasing for a couple of weeks. Hes got some bone cancer on his snout, i cant wait to see him done!
The darker one is just done being cleaned by my beetles. Its a juvenile fox, but a little longer than the old boy. His shape is really interesting, i cant wait to properly compare him to some other individuals.
