I want to buy a cassette player, but everyone online says that new ones have the durability of wet toilet paper and that vintage is the way to go, but the good ones were discontinued 20 or 30 years ago so they're few and far between and the ones that still work are expensive as hell. We live in a time when you can't just buy a quality product anymore. They simply do not exist. Everything is designed to break and need replacing, planned obsolescence. I want physical media, I want tapes, I want CDs, I want DVDs, I want to own something and know I own it forever.

So, this is one of my favorites; My Walkman.
Yes, I know that it isn’t by Sony so it‘s not actually a „Walkman“, but that‘s still how I call it 😂!
It‘s a 1986 „Goldhand“ CS 117, which used to be written onto the front side, but you can only hardly read it anymore.
Even though it might look a bit damaged from the outside, it still works quite good, and I actually use it everyday.
Cause; why listen to music from your boring I Phone, like ordinary people do 🙄, when you can listen to tapes instead? Always with the guaranteed thrill of tape jam minimum once a week and thousands of empty batteries everywhere 😁😁.
No, but I really love it 😊
Like and follow for more retro content 👍
