Ren - "Every moment of NU'EST activities was genuine, I'll become a great artist" (X's Interview - 3)

Ren (Choi Mingi), who plays Hyunbin in the musical Bungee Jumping of Their Own, shows his affection for his sunbaes who cherished and took care of him.

"Leo-hyung (Jung Taekwoon), who plays Inwoo, went down the musical path as an idol and has been in a lot of productions so he knows how hard it is. That was the first thing that he made me understand. He gave me a lot of advice about different things, like the attitude that I need to have moving forward so I can be acknowledged in musicals. He also taught me about the basics. (Jo) Seongyun-hyung told me to focus on the scene every time it changes. Don't overthink and just stay true to the scene. There were a lot of times when I couldn't see things from up close, so that was a huge help.

(Lee) Changyong-hyung gave me a lot of life advice as an actor and as a person. He talked a lot about his own experiences. I'm 28 now, which is quite a confusing period, I think. We had a lot of deep conversations about what life is going to be like from now on. We also drink often. Though we're 12 years apart in age, we can communicate really well. I also have a mature side. I can be childish, but underneath all that, I have some deep thoughts."

Ren debuted in 2012 as a member of NU'EST and then as a musical actor when he was chosen to play the lead in Jamie (2020). With Hedwig (2021), which has starred famous actors like Jo Seungwoo and Jo Jeongseok, and now with Bungee Jumping of Their Own, he is building is filmography.

"When I was in Jamie, I think Director Shin Seorin and the audience went easy on me. I take responsibility for my work though. I think my tendency towards perfectionism has led me this far. Hedwig helped a lot. My energy was literally explosive and pulled me along with it. The show's running time was about 2 hours and 40 minutes. There's no intermission. I worried if I could do it at first but somehow I was already doing it. I worked so hard I was bleeding."

Bungee Jumping of Their Own gives off a distinctly different feel from Jamie and Hedwig, which have a more showy atmosphere as musicals.

"I always carry the energy I had when I was in Hedwig. I have an explosive energy and I love just letting it out. Jamie and Hedwig really suited me. In Bungee Jumping of Their Own, I'm playing an 18-year-old. Just from looking at parts of it, the feel was so different that I worried whether I could do well. Even though I was scared, I had a strong mindset to take it on. We only live once, right? I want to try everything and live an interesting life."

Having done three shows, he's definitely grown a lot.

"The first Jamie show feels different from the first Bungee Jumping of Their Own show. In Jamie, I felt like I had to put the fire out quickly, let's put the fire out first. I was so nervous and jumpy and tense. I was so busy putting out the fire in whatever scene I was doing, but now I've chilled out a lot. Experience is important, I think."

When asked about what he thinks his strengths are as a musical actor, he pointed to his explosive energy.

"I'm really happy that I'm able to show the public my energy. I've held in and pushed down a lot this whole time. When I was promoting in a group, there was the group image to think of, and I had a position and responsibility in the group, so I couldn't go overboard. I think I can be natural and have fun when it comes to musicals.

Later on, I want to try being in The Man Who Laughs. I watched (EXO) Suho-hyung in that show and I wanted to try it too. I also want to try Sweeney Todd. It's quite charming and has a really distinct style, and I think I can pull it off. I'm really good at acting like I'm possessed. Since my life is a musical, I'll be able to do it well."

He still gets along well with the NU'EST (Kim Jonghyeon, Aaron, Baekho, Minhyun, Ren) members even after disbandment.

"The members and I are on good terms. They haven't come to see Bungee Jumping of Their Own yet but they came to all my previous shows and said complimented me and said I did really well. Sometimes we talk about our lives when we go out to eat. I was able to go into musicals because I was in NU'EST, and it's given me so much help and experience for whatever I choose to do.

When I was promoting in a group, there were five of us, so there was someone for me to lean on, but now I don't have anyone to depend on but myself. When I was in a team, we could help each other when there was a problem, but when there's a problem on stage, I have to take care of it on my own. There's a big emptiness."

If NU'EST was the invaluable first act of Ren's life, he's now officially opening the second act as a solo artist.

"Like people's lives, nothing lasts forever. Though there's some sadness, I feel relieved and refreshed. I think every moment was genuine while we were promoting as NU'EST, and we worked so hard and gave our all. So I have no regrets. Expect that I'll keep doing my best moving forward, and I hope to become an influential artist who gives my fans good synergy while enjoying what I do."

In order to become a good artist, Ren is striving toward his own goals.

"I want to become a singer of a genre that only I can do. I usually like dance and pop songs more than ballads. Of course, at this point it's still a vague dream and quite abstract, but if there are people who'll accept and acknowledge me, I think it will be fun. As an actor, I want to touch people's hearts. Variety shows, dramas, movies - there are a lot of things I want to do."

Sinopse: 2000 Followers Special - After fighting for so long, the angel is gone now. Leo should be happy but why does he feel so flustered and annoyed? - Inspired by the Hyde Era.

Notices: Given to me by @moonstrays a long time ago (sorry it took so long!). Also, it will have 3 parts since it seemed you guys liked this plot. The last part will be released as 2500 followers’ special. Ah, and I went for the Christian hierarchy of angels, just because “seraphim” is a great name for an angel class, not meaning to offend anybody!

“Leo seems to be fighting again, brother.” The Archangel told the Seraphim that was seated on a golden chair. The two angels of different ranks were watching the demon realm. After a lifetime of a peaceful existence, the demon Taekwoon suddenly went berserk. It won’t be a week if Leo didn’t find something to destroy during the whole century.

The Seraphim sighed. Humans would just think there was some bad energy around their Era, ordinary angels would say Leo was crazy and something should be done about him. But not that Seraphim… No… That male angel knew why Leo had gotten violent during that time… And he could only sigh everytime that demon showed up in his magic waters.

“I don’t want to overstep, brother Leeteuk… But…”

“Say it, Suho. You couldn’t possibly give me a bad idea at the moment.” Jungsu was really tired… All of this because Yesung was afraid of Y/n getting too close to that demon… They should just let their spoiled sister do whatever she wants, as always. The younger angel nodded.

“Hm… How about talking to Leo? He already gave us a lot of face waiting for two centuries before asking about her… And he said at the beginning that he just wanted information, not to fight us…” The Archangel gave a pause. “Also, the demon didn’t really offend us, he kept all his rage on the demon realm.”

“You’re right, Suho.” Jungsu rubbed his temples. “Call brother Shindong. I want him to go.” The Archangel nodded again, quickly leaving the powerful one and going to look for the other Seraphim.

Why? Why was that feeling never going away? Leo could feel the madness bubbling inside of him, he could feel the rage his kind had long fed against the angel race, he could feel the sense of loss that appeared every time he thought about her… But why? Leo really couldn’t understand the reason why he was feeling all of that.

After the night the angel had come to say her goodbyes, Leo didn’t feel anything. He had a bad premonition right after she left but it soon was crushed by the thought she was probably just being a drama queen to get his attention. So, Leo soon forgot about it. But then a month passed… A single month was nothing for eternal beings but… The angel used to go to his mansion every day…

Then, a year passed. Leo still was happy that his relaxed life was back. Then 25 years went… Even the other 5 great demons noticed that Leo wasn’t receiving the usual angelic visit. By the time it hit 50 years without the angel, Leo finally noticed that something was wrong. He started to notice that there was no more laughing around him, no more jokes between the servants, no more surprise visits from N or Ravi…

“What do you mean ‘why won't you go there anymore’? Last time I did, you shouted Y/n’s name and told ‘me’ that it was useless to try to catch your attention disappearing… And after you saw it was me you literally freaked out and beated me up in anger. You went full demon lord on me, I won’t go to your house until Y/n is back.” Ravi pouted when Leo asked him his motive after almost 70 years the angel left.

When the first century without you arrived, Leo suddenly noticed something really wrong with him. He looked around and discovered he was in the middle of punishing a slave… When he thought about the reason… It seemed that the slave had brought to his afternoon tea a human cake… The first recipe Y/n had teached to his servants… That triggered an unstoppable rage inside him.

That event made Leo isolate himself. He went through every single memory he had from that period of time since the crazy and innocent angel left. Finally he was able to realise that, as the decades went by, his episodes of blacking out and becoming a complete rage demon were getting more and more common…

When Leo came back from the isolation, it was already 150 years since the angel was gone. The demon had in mind that maybe the female had done something to him that made him lose control without her. Then, he went around the demon territory, trying to hear some news about her. Normally when angels like Y/n went on missions it was about demons getting out of control in other worlds.

But it had no results… Not even Hyuk’s connections could tell him anything about that exact angel. That made Leo even more uneasy… Finally, after 200 years, he decided to use his good relationship with the Seraphim family to reach out for them and ask about her. But who would know that as soon as the family heard about his questions, he would be thrown out of that world directly to the demon plane?

They didn’t even tell him anything about Y/n, just saying something like ‘She’s fine and away from you’ before forcing him back. That event made Leo lose most of his slim trust on angels and he started to use force to get their attention again. Since he couldn’t talk, he would cause trouble until they were willing.

“Brother!” Yesung and Eunhyuk entered the big room with determined pace and loud voices. Leeteuk sighed and rubbed his forehead. He knew that as soon as they heard about his decision the duo would come after him.

“You can go, Suho. Please, tell brother Shindong what we talked about before he goes.” The oldest gave a hand sign for the youngest, who soon fled from the room, leaving the three Seraphim for themselves. “Now” Leeteuk turned to the younger duo “what do you guys want, not showing the minimum respect? I’m working, for Heavens’ sake!”

“Brother! I’m sorry but how can you send brother Shindong to talk with that demon?!” Yesung got closer to Leeteuk’s table and gave him a light bow before starting to complain.

“Yeah, I’m sorry, whatever. If it wasn’t important, I would be far away from this room but how can you indulge the demands of that demon that was misleading our little sister and making her want to fall?” Eunhyuk wasn’t so polite and straight up banged his hands on Leeteuk’s table.

“How come you two are always fighting but when it comes to Y/n both of you are like super protective human parents? Isn’t she already grounded there with the dream devils to defeat? Why can’t I give some answers to the poor soul?” The more powerful Seraphim didn’t have patience to deal with the temperamental brothers that day.

“What do you mean ‘grounded’? She can leave whenever she wants!”

“Yeah! She can leave, as long as she decides to forget about that silly and irresponsible crush she thinks she has with that creature.” The oldest angel couldn’t stop himself from rolling his eyes for the other two. They had the mentality of most warrior class angels. They never forgot their hatred for the demon kind nor could understand why their little sister would like a demon lord.

“You two need to calm down.” Leeteuk as an administrator class angel didn’t have so much hate. He didn’t see the problem in an interspecies relationship and he didn’t mind having to travel to see his fallen sister if it was really what she wanted. At least she would still be master of her own destiny, not like those angels that fell in disgrace and dishonor.

“You think falling for a demon would make her happy?” The duo were judgemental.

“No, I think falling for love would. And that’s why I’m sending Shindong there. If the demon truly feels something for her, then we all will stop interfering. But, if it’s just a fling for him, a whim, I’ll destroy any chance for Y/n to continue with that insane idea.” The leader’s voice was firm and serious, making even the unruled Eunhyuk to shut up.

“M-Master…” The old slave butler called for Leo’s attention with a tiny voice so it wouldn’t startle the demon. Leo only made a hand gesture to allow the slave to talk. “Hm… Se-Seraphim Shindong is here… He said that you wanted to talk to him, sir… Should I let him in?” The poor stupid soul was trembleling. It knew that the angel at their doorstep was Lady Y/n’s brother.

“Guide him here, to my study.” Leo’s order was succinct and final. But it didn’t carry all the emotions the demon was feeling. When the angel entered the room and the butler closed the door, Leo greeted him with sarcasm and a diabolic smile, as a demon should. “So, you finally decided to talk with me, Seraphim?”

“Let’s cut the chase, Leo… We both know that the less time I stay here, the better.” The angel sat at the chair in front of the demon. “I’m here to answer your question about Y/n… But first, before I tell you everything I know, I need you to be just as honest with me.” Shindong was the best at negotiations, that’s why Leeteuk sended him. Leo knew that and was ready to agree with him.

“What do you want? I’ll answer one question only.” Leo wasn’t dumb, he knew the angels wouldn’t ever do anything free. Especially for a demon like lord him.

“Why? It doesn’t matter how I look at it, you hated Y/n coming everyday to annoy you. So, why? Why do you want to know about her?” The golden angelic eyes were glued at Taekwoon. “I thought you would thank my brothers for taking her from your side?”

“...” Leo hesitated to answer right away. After some minutes of thinking, the demon opened his mouth. “I… I think I got used to her presence here… I don’t really, honestly, know the answer to your question, Seraphim… I just know that I need to see her, I need to hear her voice, I need to be annoyed by her… That’s all I know.” His matter of fact tone left Shindong speechless.

“Well… I couldn’t ask for more honesty, I guess…” The angel shook his head after studying the demon’s expression for some silent minutes. “As promised, Y/n is in a dream dimension. She was forced to go there to fight against dream demons who were attacking humans without restraints.”

“Forced, you say?” Leo lifted a brow and Shondong noded.

“Yes, to be far away from you, her stupid brothers decided to lock her up in the dimension, she can only get out if the being that put her there let her leave or if she, as an angel, falls. As for her physical body, it’s resting perfectly safe in her room at our mansion.” The angel shrugged.

“So… when she can get out of there? I’m aware that the dream demons have been well behaved since last century.” That made Shindong let out a hopeless laugh.

“Eunhyuk gave her the condition of forgetting about you to bring her back.”

“So, she’s there until now because…” Leo felt his throat somehow closing. The angel didn’t answer him but became serious instead. Leo watched the Seraphim curve his body closer to his and say in a sober tone.

“Tell me, oh great demon lord Leo, if Y/n ever chooses to fall, would you accept her here? Or would you leave her to her own devices and regrets?” The demon was frozen by that question. He couldn’t even understand the words he let out as a reply.

“I wouldn’t let her regret it.” Both his and the angel’s eyes were big in surprise. None of them were expecting that but at the same time, Shindong was really satisfied with Leo’s words.

“Oh? Good to know that” A female voice came from the door, giving Shindong and Leo goosebumps. “Because I kinda did something…”

Only Eternity

Description: Lee Jaehwan, a lonely time god, wanders the city looking for something. He doesn't even know what he's searching for, but he'll know he's found it when he does.

Jaehwan wanders aimlessly about the city in an attempt to alleviate the heavy feeling in his chest.

Being a god of time had its perks, what with being immortal and having the ability to stop, turn back, or speed up time at will with no repercussions. The immortality could get to be a drag sometimes though, as Jaehwan had to watch as everything he loved eventually wither away, and even if he froze time to preserve them, they would just remain frozen until Jaehwan lets time move again. There are other time gods around, but he hasn’t encountered any in his long life, and even if he did, he wasn’t sure how he’d interact with them.

Jaehwan sighs deeply as he approaches the entrance to a park, deciding that maybe a change of scenery from the cold gray buildings would be enough to cheer him up. Despite it being a rather dark and cloudy day, the flowers in the park are still bright and cheerful with all their happy colors. Jaehwan glances up as he turns in to the entrance and is instantly met with the most beautiful man he’s ever seen.

Perhaps it’s just Jaehwan being hopeful, but he swears he sees the man give him a knowing smile before he passes by. Jaehwan turns to look, but the man has already disappeared. He bites back a disappointed sigh as he continues into the park. That man was probably mortal anyway, and even if Jaehwan had been able to get his attention, he would live as if nothing changed while the man continued to age and eventually died, leaving Jaehwan lonely all over again.

“I guess there’s really nothing I can do,” Jaehwan mutters to himself, sitting down on a bench in the center of the park. The flowers around him are certainly beautiful, but they simply cannot compare to the image of that man’s smile which remains in Jaehwan’s mind. He leans his head back in frustration, closing his eyes so tightly that he sees stars in an attempt to get that man out of his head.

When he opens his eyes again, he instantly feels as if something is wrong. He no longer feels the wind in his hair, the sweet scent of the flowers has disappeared, and all the sounds of the surrounding city no longer ring in his ears. He straightens up and looks around the park. Everything has stopped in its tracks, and no one seems to be aware of this. Time has stopped. Jaehwan blinks in confusion; this wasn’t his doing.

“Another time god?” Jaehwan murmurs to himself, standing up and walking out of the park. Every person he passes is completely frozen, and Jaehwan begins to doubt he’ll be able to find the other time god who did this as he reaches the top of a bridge close to the city center. His thoughts are stopped when he sees another man crossing the bridge towards him.

“Oh, I didn’t expect to see another one of us here! I’m Lee Jaehwan, what’s your name?” Jaehwan says in a cheerful tone as the man approaches. “Taekwoon.” The man replies, his high voice taking Jaehwan by surprise. “I thought I was the only time god in this city.” Taekwoon continues, leaning on the edge of the bridge’s railing to look out at the river beneath them.

“Did you do this?” Jaehwan asks, mirroring Taekwoon’s gesture.

“I did. Something’s missing from my life and I’m tired of waiting for it to come to me, so I intend on finding it.” Taekwoon replies, not meeting Jaehwan’s gaze as he pushes himself upright and starts walking down the bridge.

“Mind if I tag along? I’m looking for something too, and I could use some company from another one of us.” Jaehwan asks, following Taekwoon like a lost puppy.

“I don’t mind. Maybe you’ll find what you’re looking for as well.” Taekwoon replies. His words bring images of that mysterious man to Jaehwan’s mind, and he falters for a second before agreeing.

The two of them continue down the bridge in silence, both watching their surroundings for movement. Jaehwan breaks the silence after a few minutes, his voice echoing slightly as they enter a narrow alley.

“What exactly are you looking for, if it isn’t too much to ask?” He asks, pressing a little closer to Taekwoon as the walls of the alley close in on the two of them. Taekwoon remains silent for a moment, his expression guarded as he gathers his response.

“I’ve just been feeling... Empty these days. I feel like I’ve just been drifting around with no purpose, and no one has been able to stay with me for long. Well, until now I guess, but I still feel as if something’s missing.” Taekwoon replies.

“Funny, that’s just how I’ve been feeling,” Jaehwan says, his lips curling into a sad smile. “It’s lonely, being like this. Even someone as cute as me can’t have someone for long.” He adds with an exaggerated pout.

Taekwoon rolls his eyes at Jaehwan’s childishness, but he still smiles in agreement. “That’s why I’ve decided to find this missing piece. I have all the time in the world to look, after all.” He says, stopping short when he spots movement at the other end of the alley. “Something’s moving? Who’s there?” Jaehwan asks, hiding behind Taekwoon. “Hey Binnie-hyung, I think we found more time gods!” A loud voice calls from the stranger at the other end.

“More? How many time gods are even in this city?” Another voice replies. This one is a little softer, but still had the same amount of energy as the first. Taekwoon starts off towards the pair, Jaehwan following behind him.

“Hey! Did either of you freeze the city?” The first man calls, waving to Jaehwan and Taekwoon.

“I did,” Taekwoon replies softly, eyeing the two with a strange interest. Jaehwan sees a hint of an emotion flash across Taekwoon’s eyes when he notices the two stranger’s entwined hands, but he is unable to determine what it is.

“Well I’ve got to thank you for that, you helped me meet Binnie-hyung here!” The first stranger continues, gesturing to the man beside him.

The man is young, Jaehwan notes, barely out of his teenage years, it would seem. Jaehwan turns his attention to the stranger’s partner, the one he called “Binnie-hyung”. He seems a little older than the first man but younger than Jaehwan. He smiles brightly at Jaehwan and Taekwoon, exposing adorable dimples that made Jaehwan just want to squish his cheeks. Something in his soft doe eyes makes Jaehwan restrain himself, however, as they have a glint in them that reminds him of a fox; cute yet plotting.

“The name’s Han Sanghyuk, it’s nice to meet you!” The first man’s voice cuts through Jaehwan’s thoughts and he looks back to see Sanghyuk extending a hand to him and Taekwoon.

“Taekwoon,” Taekwoon mutters, shaking Sanghyuk’s hand. Perhaps Jaehwan is seeing things, but he swears there is a hint of bitterness in Taekwoon’s voice when he looks at Sanghyuk’s partner.

“I’m Lee Jaehwan! Are you guys looking for something too?” Jaehwan asks as he shakes Sanghyuk’s hand. “Well, we were, but I think we might have found it already.” Sanghyuk’s partner says, glancing at Sanghyuk with a fond expression. “I’m Lee Hongbin by the way.” “Aw man, you guys are lucky! Taekwoon and I are still looking. For what, I have no idea, but we’ve been running around all over the place looking for it.” Jaehwan exclaims, whining as he speaks the last sentence. “Maybe we can help you look. Besides, it’s not every day that you find three other time gods in the same city as you.” Sanghyuk suggests. “Sure! The more the merrier, right?” Jaehwan says, looking to Taekwoon for approval. Taekwoon eyes Sanghyuk and Hongbin for an excruciatingly long moment, his expression unreadable. If time hadn’t already been frozen, Jaehwan would have thought it had as he waits for Taekwoon’s answer. Jaehwan begins to worry that Taekwoon might refuse since Taekwoon seems to be a very quiet and introverted person, while Sanghyuk, Hongbin, and himself are... Quite the opposite. “I don’t see why not. Come on.” Taekwoon finally murmurs, walking ahead of the group through the alley. “Alright! The party’s officially started!” Jaehwan cheers, hopping around in excitement. “Sweet! It’ll be like a treasure hunt!” Sanghyuk adds, grabbing Hongbin’s arm and jumping along next to Jaehwan. Hongbin shoots both of them a judgemental look, his eyes meeting Taekwoon’s. They seem to have a moment of “I can’t believe I’m stuck with these two” before Jaehwan and Sanghyuk calm down.

A few hours later, the group stops at the pier to rest.

“Man, we haven’t found anyone else here! Are we even looking for other time gods or is are you guys just looking for some hidden item here?” Sanghyuk complains, dramatically flopping down on a bench. “We’ll know what it is when we find it. Finding other time gods was just a bonus.” Taekwoon murmurs, looking out at the water.

“Should we all just split up then?” Hongbin suggests, sitting down next to Sanghyuk. “We can all meet up somewhere when you find what you’re looking for or something.” “That actually sounds like a good idea. Where should we meet up?” Jaehwan asks, perking up at Hongbin’s suggestion. “There’s a fountain close to the center of the city. We can all meet up there and then just go on with our lives or something.” Hongbin says with a shrug. “What say you, o fearless leader?” Jaehwan asks, looking to Taekwoon. “Sure. I won’t have to deal with you all if we split up.” Taekwoon murmurs, his eyes alight with dry humor. “Yah! You’re so mean, hyung!” Sanghyuk exclaims, much like a petulant child.

“Well, I’d best get going. I’ll meet you all later.” Taekwoon says, acting as if Sanghyuk had never said anything. Jaehwan waves to him as he walks off along the docks, turning back to Hongbin and Sanghyuk with a sigh as soon as Taekwoon is out of earshot.

“Don’t worry about him. He seems like a grouchy grandpa cat, but he’s really just a little hamster.” Jaehwan says reassuringly. He hasn’t really known Taekwoon for that long, but he has gotten quite good at reading people in his lifetime, and he is confident that he knows Taekwoon well enough to say these kinds of things.

“A hamster with a nasty bite, that’s for sure.” Sanghyuk jokes. “Yeah, you have to watch your fingers around him. He might bite them off.” Jaehwan adds with a laugh. “Well, I should get going too. I promise I won’t keep you waiting for long!” He says, getting up to leave after a moment. “See you later hyung!” Sanghyuk calls after him, and Jaehwan waves in response. He takes off in the opposite direction Taekwoon went, deciding to make his way back into the city towards the park he was in earlier. He hopes to see that beautiful man from before, even going so far to think that he may be a time god as well considering how his day had gone so far. He swears up and down that the man had given him a smile before disappearing, and the glint in his eye suggested that the man had known exactly what Jaehwan was. Of course, Jaehwan might just have been imagining things, but he thought it couldn’t hurt to dream a little.

As he approaches the park, Jaehwan can pick up the faint sound of someone singing. His heart picks up slightly because that voice must surely belong to an angel. He is too far away to make out any lyrics, but the song sounds soft and sweet, like something one would use to serenade their lover while standing under their window at night to lull them to sleep. Jaehwan finds himself mesmerized, drawing closer to the source of the angelic voice until he steps into the center of the park and stops dead in his tracks. Standing in front of him is the man from before who has now completely captured Jaehwan’s heart as he continues to sing, oblivious to Jaehwan’s presence.

“Saying ‘I love you’ with words might not be enough, but I still want to confess to you today.” The words slip from the man’s mouth, pulling Jaehwan’s heartstrings with every syllable. “I wanna be with you, always a step behind you. Don’t forget there’s a person who will protect you.”

Jaehwan finds himself softly harmonizing with the beautiful stranger, who remains unaware of his secret admirer. The song ends far too soon for Jaehwan, and he finds himself wishing that he could let this moment replay forever. It wouldn’t work, however, as the stranger turns around to see Jaehwan standing stunned like a deer in the headlights. “Oh! I didn’t realize you were there! How was my little performance?” The stranger asks in a flirtatious tone, picking up on the fact that Jaehwan is just standing there in a lovestruck daze. “It was absolutely stunning. I would ask if you were a time god as well, but I think you’re more of an angel.” Jaehwan replies, only half aware of what he’s saying as he’s too busy staring at the man in front of him. The man who had stolen his heart then noticed him, then finally also happened to be a time god as well. Jaehwan believed himself to be the luckiest man on earth as a smile spreads across the man’s face, a smile so dazzling that the sun and stars seemed to hide in shame. “Why thank you, handsome stranger. I do happen to be a time god, I thought I was the only one here.” The man says, starting to approach Jaehwan. “My name is Cha Hakyeon. May I be so blessed as to hear yours?” He asks, and Jaehwan feels as if he may collapse. “L-Lee Jaehwan. Your name is beautiful. It suits you. I mean, of course, it does since it’s your name, but it’s just a pretty name. Just as pretty as you.” Jaehwan stutters out, a hot blush creeping up his face. ‘I must look like such an idiot.’ He thinks to himself as Hakyeon laughs. He suddenly doesn’t mind, as he would do anything to hear Hakyeon’s laugh again. “You have a beautiful name as well. It’s just as cute as you.” Hakyeon says, and Jaehwan feels himself go weak in the knees. “I must ask, are you the one who froze this city? I don’t mind since I got to practice this song, but I just want to know.” Hakyeon continues. “No, someone else did. They were looking for something, just like I was.” Jaehwan says, snapping back to attention. “Looking for something? May I ask what?” Hakyeon asks, tilting his head in curiosity.

“I’m not quite sure. Something to fill this lonely feeling that we both have,” Jaehwan says, stopping to correct himself. “Well, this feeling that I used to have. I think I’ve found what I’m looking for,” He says, smiling up at Hayeon.

Hakyeon takes a moment to process Jaehwan’s words before a blush slowly creeps up his face. “Have you been looking for... Me?” He asks, staring at Jaehwan in disbelief. “Well, kind of. I’ve been looking for something or someone to get rid of this lonely feeling, and I think I’ve found that someone.” Jaehwan says, shyly looking away. “I’ll be honest, I was kind of hoping it would be you. I saw you smile at me earlier, or at least I think you did, and then I couldn’t stop thinking about you even though I thought you were just a normal human and I was trying not to get my hopes up but then here you are, and I’m rambling aren’t I...” He can feel a blush creeping up his face as he continues talking despite his mind screaming at him to stop.

Hakyeon is silent for a moment that seems to stretch on forever as he processes Jaehwan’s almost unnaturally fast rambling. Jaehwan nervously scratches the back of his neck, waiting for Hakyeon to answer.

“You just described all my feelings in one ramble.” Hakyeon finally says. “And I don’t mind your rambling, I think it’s cute. Just like the rest of you.” He continues.

“I- wait, you seriously- you feel-“ Jaehwan stammers, unable to form his thoughts into a coherent sentence. “Yes, I think you’re my missing piece. It would be safe to say that I’m your missing piece, so it would only make sense.” Hakyeon explains, his lips parting with a soft laugh.

“Am I in heaven?” Jaehwan mutters, mostly to himself. Hakyeon laughs at this and Jaehwan nearly tackles him in a hug. “I must be if the most beautiful man in the world actually feels the same way as I do!” He squeals, jumping around in circles while clinging to Hakyeon.

Hakyeon breathlessly joins Jaehwan in his frantic jumping around, laughing and holding him tight. “The same could be said for you, you’re so cute I could mistake you for a precious puppy.” He coos as Jaehwan calms down.

“Of course you could, I’m just the cutest time god to ever exist!” Jaehwan boasts jokingly. “I can’t wait to have you meet the others, I promised I wouldn’t keep them waiting!” He gushes, hugging Hakyeon tight to his chest.

“Wait, the others? There are even more time gods here?” Hakyeon asks, pulling back from Jaehwan’s embrace to look him in the eye. “Yeah, I met like three more others before I met you. It’s crazy, you’d think this city is just populated by time gods or something!” Jaehwan says, releasing Hakyeon and taking his hands in his own. “I agreed to meet them at the center of the city when I found what I was looking for. Will you come with me?” He asks, looking into Hakyeon’s eyes with a hopeful puppy dog look.

Hakyeon visibly melts at Jaehwan’s expression, getting lost in Jaehwan’s puppy eyes for a second before he agrees.

Taekwoon is nowhere to be found when Jaehwan and Hakyeon arrive at the fountain, and it is obvious that Hongbin and Sanghyuk have been waiting for a long time judging by Sanghyuk’s dramatic whining.

“Yah, you took forever hyung! I thought you promised not to keep us waiting!” Sanghyuk whines, sprawled on top of the fountain’s wall.

“Another time god? How many are there in this city!” Hongbin exclaims, taking notice of Hakyeon.

“A lot, apparently. Jaehwannie tells me you all have another companion?” Hakyeon asks. “Yeah, but he’s been gone for who knows how long. He’s the one who froze this city in the first place.” Sanghyuk explains.

“I see. He’ll come here once he’s found whoever or whatever he’s looking for, right?” Hakyeon asks. “That’s what we agreed on. He’s the one who froze the city, so he has to keep his promise either way.” Hongbin says with a shrug. “Anyway, this is Cha Hakyeon! He’s my missing piece.” Jaehwan coos, clinging to Hakyeon’s arm and resting his head on his shoulder. “Nice to meet you. I’m Lee Hongbin. This is Han Sanghyuk, my missing piece if we’re referring to each other like that.” Hongbin says, extending a hand to Hakyeon. “My pleasure. So we all met through this one person’s time-freeze?” Hakyeon asks.

“Pretty much, yeah. I’ve got to remember to thank him for that.” Jaehwan says, nuzzling into Hakyeon’s side.

It would be another three hours before Taekwoon finally returned with yet another time god by the name of Kim Wonshik at his side.

“How many time gods even live in this city!?” Wonshik had exclaimed upon meeting the others. “It really is a small world. At this point, we might as well just stick with each other now that we’ve all found each other.” Hakyeon suggests. “That’s a great idea! We can probably form a band or something!” Sanghyuk jokes. “Nothing’s really stopping us. I think Vixx would be a cool name.” Hongbin adds. “Yeah! Vixx for the win!” Jaehwan exclaims excitedly as Taekwoon lets time flow again.

As the city resumes life as if nothing happened, a friendship to last for eternity bloomed to life at its heart.

The First Moments With Your Newborn ~ Jung Taekwoon

Your smile was wide as Taekwoon walked towards you as at last the midwife headed towards the door of your delivery suite, giving the two of you some time alone, with your daughter resting tightly in your hold.

Taekwoon had a proud smile as he took a seat down beside you, peering over the side of the bed to be able to take a closer look at her. Almost straight away, the two of you could see Taekwoon’s nose, with it as striking as his.

He was more than happy to let you hold your daughter for a little while, the least he could let you do after the hours of pain and anguish you had been through in order to bring your daughter into the world, with Taekwoon by your side throughout.

“Doesn’t it just feel like a dream?” You asked him as you turned your eyes away from your daughter momentarily.

Taekwoon nodded straight away back at you, bringing his hand over the frame of your bed to rest against your arm, if you had a free hand, I’d really love for you to pinch me right now so that I know that this is real.”

You could tell that Taekwoon was beginning to get restless beside you, the more your daughter seemed to settle, the closer he edged towards you, getting a better look each time.

“Do you want to hold her in a minute?” You asked, knowing that although Taekwoon didn’t want to interrupt the moment between you and her, he was desperate to give her that first cuddle.

His bright eyes looked across to you in reply to your offer, slowly shaking his head. As much as he didn’t want to seem too keen, playing it as cool as ever, the smile on Taekwoon’s face told a different story as you slowly sat yourself up on your bed.

“Shall I just hold my hands out?” He nervously asked you, suddenly unsure as to what to do. “I know I’ve held babies before, but it feels so different knowing that this one is mine.”

“Just do what you normally do,” you encouraged.

Taekwoon held his hands out, moving as close to you as possible to make life easier for you, feeling you slowly place your daughter into his hold, waiting a moment to be sure before moving away.

“She’s just the best,” Taekwoon proudly chuckled as he moved back properly into his seat, sitting as straight as possible to be able to give his daughter as much room as possible against his chest. “How did we manage to make something so tiny and sweet Y/N?”

“Good genes,” you joked, slightly relieved to be freed of your daughter for a moment so that you could rest back in your bed and give your back a bit of time to rest again against the mattress.

Taekwoon’s head nodded in agreement with you as he admired the features of your daughter, knowing that plenty more would be revealed over the next few days too. “I can’t wait to show her off to everyone, she’ll have everyone wrapped around her little finger in no time.”

Almost as soon as you gave birth the two of you found yourselves messaging your friends and family to let them know that your daughter had arrived. Everyone was on tenterhooks waiting for your news, the boys especially had all gathered to all be able to be with each other when you eventually managed to call them.

Your smile was wide as you got comfortable and looked back across to Taekwoon. “No one is going to be more wrapped around her little finger than you.”

“You’re probably right,” Taekwoon quietly chuckled, careful not to wake your daughter as she slept in his hold, “I already feel like I’d do just about anything for her, especially making sure that she stays away from boys for as long as possible.”

“I think we’ve got a little while ahead of us yet before you have to worry about that,” you tried your best to assure Taekwoon. “I wonder if when she grows up her friends’ parents will have listened to your music and supported you.”

Your words sent a shiver down Taekwoon’s spine, shooting a joking glare across at you. “Don’t say that it makes me feel incredible old. I still feel like I’ve just debuted sometimes, and now look at me, I’m a dad, I actually have a child of my own.”

Despite the many children that Taekwoon had met through his career, and the many that had stolen his heart too, none made him feel as happy as he did right now. He’d felt on top of the world several times before, but never quite as high as he was right now.

“It’s going to take a little while for this to sink in,” he whispered across to you, “it’s surreal.”

“Don’t worry, you’ve got the rest of your life to remind yourself that you’re a dad.”

Taekwoon’s head continued to shake as he kept his gaze on your daughter, feeling his heart skip a little bit quicker anytime she did anything, from stretching out her hand to parting her lips, everything captured Taekwoon’s attention. “I can’t wait to take her home too; our house is going to be the busiest place in the city for the next couple of weeks with so many visitors.”

“I think there might be a queue outside our house before we even get home.”

Eagerness was seen all around your family and friends, for days they had been texting for updates, with you going over your due date, their excitement soon turned to worry, and then back to enthusiasm once they eventually got the text from Taekwoon.

“There’s so many things that I want to do right now, there’s so many emotions right now.”

You smiled back at Taekwoon, understanding exactly how he felt about what was going on. “Right now, I’m struggling not to cry, everything’s coming on top of me, I’m overwhelmed, sore, my body has never been through such a rollercoaster before,” you admitted.

“You’re just incredible,” Taekwoon simply told you, in awe of what you had gone through. “I know for a fact that I would have never been able to do what you’ve done today.”

“It was worth it,” you hummed, tilting onto your side to be able to get a better look of Taekwoon and your daughter. “And I know that I can use this pain for some time to get you to do whatever I want you to do for me, simply tasks aren’t going to be for fun for a little while.”

Being there for you was a breeze for Taekwoon, he had already done everything you needed whilst you were pregnant, but now that your daughter was here, things weren’t going to change.

“Whenever the two of you need me, I’ll be there,” he promised, looking between the two of you, “I’m going to make sure that you’re safe and protected all the time.”

Although your daughter had no idea what was going on, Taekwoon hoped that she knew how happy she had made him, how full his heart was knowing that he finally had a baby that he could call his own, one that he could keep forever.

“Do you still feel like you’re dreaming?” You smiled across at him.

Taekwoon nodded in reply to you, “ask me in about a week and I might start feeling like I’m living my life again, for now though, I feel like I’m in sort of film.

“You’re a dad now,” you reminded him, listening to Taekwoon chuckle.

“I’ll never tire of hearing you say that.”

TEACHING VIXX - CHAPTER SEVENTY FIVE

Does anyone even remember this fic anymore? Haha I know it's been forever since I've updated this but hopefully a few of you will remember some of this. The babies are coming soon!! Any suggestions for names for the babies??

The manager dropped you both off in the parking deck and you walked into the elevator. You leaned against Taekwoon and sighed in a momentary feeling of contentment.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, I just felt happy for a moment." You squeezed his hand and he returned the gesture.

"Only for a moment?"

"I just felt less stressed out for a moment. You might have something to do with that."

"I would hope so." He chuckled as the elevator dinged to announce the 12th floor. You walked out side by side but Taekwoon almost immediately stopped. His body was instantly in front of you and you could only see his back.

"What the fuck do you want?" You leaned your head around Taekwoon and your body turned cold. Brian stood there in front of your door. He had a black eye and his left arm was in a sling.

"I need your help."

"What in the hell? Are you insane? What makes you think we would help you? Leave now before I put your other arm in a sling. I can promise you I won't stop there." Taekwoon's voice was a ragged growl by the end of his sentence and you knew his eyes were turning.

"I-I understand that b-but the situation has changed." It was almost satisfying to see Brian afraid for once.

"No, the situation is still the same. You are the enemy and you have no right to ask for help."

"I know that! Do you think I'd be here if I wasn't desperate? I have no choice!" He took a tiny step forward and Taekwoon growled. Brian swallowed hard and started to sweat. He looked at you and his eyes went wide. "I-I can help protect you and the baby!"

"That's my job. What makes you think I would let you anywhere near them?"

"Listen, I don't have time to argue with you. They know she's going to give birth soon. They've done this kind of thing before and they're good at it. Your baby and fiancé will be gone before you can blink an eye." Brian sounded desperate and his words were making you nervous.

"I can protect my own. Leave."

"That's not going to be good enough! They're hybrids themselves and they know how to bring one down….permanently. Don't be stubborn and listen to me!" Brian rushed forward in desperation and Taekwoon cut him off. His hand gathered the material at Brian's neck and held him there.

"Y/N, go inside."

"But…."

"It's fine. We're just going to have a little talk. Don't open the door and stay inside."

You knew it was useless to argue with him when he was in protective mode. Nodding, you walked towards the doorway but stopped when Brian blocked your path. He wasn't close but you wouldn't be able to get past him if he didn't move.

"Y/N….I--"

"If you want to keep the limbs you have, you'll move." You looked back at Taekwoon to see his eyes almost black.

"O-of course." Brian retreated and ambled closer to Taekwoon. Taking your chance, you hurried inside and locked the door behind you. You really wanted to follow Taekwoon wherever he was going but you also needed to protect the babies.

You paced the floor for about an hour waiting for Taekwoon. You could feel that he was still close but you were a nervous wreck. You wished you could hear his conversations like he did with you for once. You had no way of knowing if the people Brian worked for would set a trap for Taekwoon or if they would hurt him to get to you.

Your heart was beating in triple rhythm when you heard the code for the door being put in.

You waddled as fast as you could to the door and waited for Taekwoon to enter. As soon as the door was closed you crowded him against it, looking for injuries.

You turned his head from side to side, slid your hands down his arms and found his knuckles bloodied on one hand. The abrasions were healing quickly but the sight still broke your heart. You made note to kiss them later. You lifted his shirt and inspected his torso and leaned back to look at his legs. There didn't seem to be any injuries other than the wounds on his hand.

After you were finished, you noticed that he hadn't moved. You looked up at him to see a knowing smile set beneath glowing eyes.

"By all means…..keep going."

"Taekwoon! Be serious! Did he try anything? Were there others?"

"Relax, sweetheart. Everything is fine. He was alone and we just talked on the roof. Although I may have added to the injuries he already had. But he had that coming for what he did to you."

"What did he say?"

"I'll tell you if you keep looking for injuries. You don't touch me nearly enough for my liking."

You blushed at his words and then glared at him. His response was just to lean down and plant a kiss on your lips.

"Don't worry so much, y/n. He didn't say much more than what he did down here and then I proceeded to teach him how to treat a lady. He did say that he didn't work for the hybrids that were looking for you anymore…."

"Do you believe him?"

"I'm not sure. His heartbeat didn't indicate that he was lying. So either he was telling the truth or he's really good at lying."

Taekwoon grabbed your hand and pulled you towards the kitchen.

"Are you hungry?" You asked him as he opened the fridge but then stopped.

You didn't hear his reply as a sharp contraction hit your stomach and you leaned over the counter for support.

"Y/N?" Taekwoon was at your side in an instant. His hands held your shoulders and he placed a kiss on your shoulder. The pain eased from his power and you could finally take a normal breath.

"I'm okay now. Thank you."

"Are they getting worse?"

"It comes and goes although that one was the worst I've had so far. I'm really thankful you have the power to ease pain."

"I'm at your service, love." His lips traveled until he reached your lips. Before he could deepen the kiss, your stomach grumbled for food. Frustrated, you let your head fall back with a sigh. Taekwoon took advantage of the opening and attached his lips to your throat. You gasped at the feeling of his tongue running along your skin and you grabbed his arms for support.

You slowly raised your head and looked at him.

"Once my stomach isn't the size of a beach ball, I'd very much like to have my way with you." Taekwoon's eyes glowed even brighter and you finally realized what you'd said. Your eyes widened and your cheek burned bright.

"Well, you are still technically my handler…..so feel free to handle me." His index finger slid over your ear and goosebumps rose over your skin.

You groaned and buried your head in his chest.

"I have no idea why I said that."

"I think I have influenced your thoughts a bit. But I don't regret it. All you have to do is tell me and I'll gladly comply with your desires."

"Taekwoon…..don't say it like that!" You whined, embarrassed at his words.

"What else would you like me to say? More specific? Maybe I should say something like I would like to lay back and let you--mmph!" You clapped your hand over his mouth in panic.

"Taekwoon!"

He laughed at your obvious panic.

"Okay, okay, let's eat something instead."

"Yes, please!"

You turned with the intention of finding food but you didn't get far. Taekwoon stepped up behind you and slowly slid his arm across your chest. You could feel his breath on your ear and you froze.

"If you don't want to handle me today….I can still handle you."
