Ich mein, es ist absolut lächerlich, deswegen beleidigte Leberwurscht zu spielen, aber irgendwie pisst es mich schon an, wie diese blöde Kuh sich mir gegenüber gebärdet.

Hamerkop (Scopus umbretta), family Scopidae, found throughout Sub-Saharan Africa

The taxonomic affinities of this bird have been greatly debated over the year, and now is believed to be in the Pelecaniformes.

This is the only bird in this family.

Ich wollte mal nachschlagen, was die Bedeutung der Kamelie in der Blumensprache sei, und das erste was ich fand, war dieses wunderbare Zitat:

"Nur einen Tadel hat die Kameliablume; sie ist geruchlos."

Alexander Bixio, "Der Landwirth des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts, oder das Ganze der Landwirthschaft, Teil 6: die Gärtnerei, nebst einem Überblick über das Gartenwesen von Europa überhaupt und einem vollständigen Gartenkalender"

Und ich fand die Idee, dass der erblindete Leshy die Blumen seines Reiches nicht mehr auf irgendeiner Weise genießen könnte, irgendwie ansprechend, also musste ich das einfach mal zeichnen.

(P. S. In der Blumensprache steht die Kamelie für Dauer der Hingabe, Dankbarkeit und Harmonie)

I wanted to check what the camellia means in flower language, and the first thing I came across was this lovely quote:

And the idea, that the blind Leshy could never again fully enjoy the flowers of his domain, wouldn't leave my mind, so I had to draw it.

Volevo controllare quale fosse il significato della camelia nel linguagggio dei fiori, per vedere se centrasse in qualche modo in Cult of the Lamb, e la prima cosa che ho trovato è stata questa adorabile citazione:

Shepard, on the run from her past, seeks asylum on Neon. With the funds from a few odd jobs and a shady loan, she purchases a small bookshop. Though her shop is practically failing, she can always count on her favorite customer, Captain Cora Coe to make a weekly purchase. But when she can’t make a loan payment on time, her life gets turned topsy turvy and she’s forced to depend on friends for help.

Chapter 2 excerpt:

“The best bookstore is here? On Neon?” Sam rests his hand on his belt buckle, leaning against the elevator wall.

“Yes. Just trust me on this one, dad.”

“Alright, I’m trusting you but just this once.”

The doors slide open and Sam scrunches his nose, affronted by the putrid scent of the underbelly. He’ll adjust over time but that first wave is always an assault to his senses. He keeps pace with Cora as she leads them in the direction of Ebbside. His trust waxes and wanes in the span of the five minutes it takes them to arrive at the bookstore. Leans heavily in the waning direction when they stop under a half lit, barely hanging neon pink sign that reads “tadel ooks”.
