Not Every Criticism Deserves Boycotting
Can rules of al-Jarḥ wa ʿl-Taʿdīl (ie: praise and criticism) be implemented on everyone who errs? (Question): “Can we implement the qāʿidah (ie: rules of) al-Jarḥ wa ʿl-Taʿdīl on everyone who errs or there is a detailed addressing whereas some people are advised and others are criticized?” Praise is to Allah, and may Allah send praise and peace upon our Prophet Muḥammad, all of his household and his companions. I bear witness that no deity is worthy of worship except Allah and I bear witness that Muḥammad is His messenger and His servant. To proceed: أما بعد: Verily al-ʿulamāʾ wa ʿl-ṣaḥābah (ie: the scholars and the companions) before them used to commit mistakes, And Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taimiyyah may Allah have mercy on him mentioned some of that in his treatise “Rafʿ al-Malām ʿan al-Aʾimmah al-Aʿlām”. And he mentioned errors of Abū Bakr then ʿUmar then ʿUthmān then ʿAlī, may Allah be pleased with them all, And mentioning these mistakes takes a long time so we refer the listeners to that book.‏ وذكرها يطول فنحيل على الكتاب، Abū Bakr and ʿUmar as it mentioned in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī disputed over the matter of delegation from tribe of Banī Tamīm. Abū Bakr said: “O Messenger of Allah, appoint so-and-so” فقال أبو بكر: يا رسول الله! And ʿUmar said: “O Messenger of Allah appoint so-and-so.” Abū Bakr said to ʿUmar: “You only want to oppose me.” And ʿUmar replied: “I did not want to oppose you.” So their voices were loud, فارتفعت أصواتهما، Then Allah revealed {O you who have believed, do not put [yourselves] before Allah and His Messenger but fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing. O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not} [49:1-2]. So that is a disciplining and blame from Allah the Exalted to Abū Bakr and ʿUmar. And likewise His saying exalted He: {Follow, (O mankind), what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember} [7:3]. However if the error is not in al-ʿaqīdah (ie: creed), And the ʿālim (ie: scholar) has ḥasanāt (ie: good deeds) the error is immersed in the good deeds. والعالم له حسنات فإن الخطأ يغمر في جانب الحسنات: من الذي ما ساء قط ومن له الحسنى فقط al-ʿulamāʾ may Allah have mercy on them, have mistakes such as Ibn Ḥazm in his book al-Muḥallá, his book al-Iḥkām fī Uṣūl ʾl-Aḥkām, and al-Shawkānī in Nayl al-Awtār. However their mistakes are forgiven due to their virtue and their error is immersed in their virtue. As for the error in al-ʿaqīdah or al-kaḏib (ie: lying) on the Messenger ﷺ the scholars shout about it and warn against it vehemently. As for advising the one who errs, that is a vital matter. In the two Ṣaḥīḥs, Jarīr b. ʿAbd Allah al-Bajalī, may Allah be pleased with him said: “I gave pledge to Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I hear and I obey, I establish the prayer, I give alms and I give advice to every Muslim.” And in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, on the authority of Tamīm al-Dārī, may Allah be pleased with him that the Prophet ﷺ said: “al-dīn al-naṣīḥah (ie: the religion is advice).” Matter of fact, Allah mentioned regarding some of his Prophets that they said {and advise you} [7:62]. So regarding advice, the scholars have always advised each other on al-akhtāʾ (ie: errors), And clarified the error while preserving the virtue of the scholar if that was needed. There is no harm in that and the help of Allah is sought. Muqbil b. [Part 4.1 Additional Benefits to Part 4 (Observations on Dr Ibraaheem Ar-Ruhayli; (NB: The details here are found in the Shaikh’s Majmoo 14/262-263)]
Shaikh Rabee (may Allaah preserve him) was asked: Is Jarh and Tadeel (carried out against) specific individuals an affair (to be) specifically (carried out by) the scholars only, or can even the youth (i.e. those students of knowledge still in their youth) who possess knowledge (do so)? Answer: Jarh Wat-Tadeel must be accompanied with sound Aqeedah as pointed out by Khateeb al-Baghdaadee. And…

Dealing with Criticisms in Our Era
Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr said: “Anyone who's ʿadālah (moral uprightness and justice) becomes clear to us, and his truthfulness in terms of knowledge has becomes clear to us, and he is a thiqqah (trustworthy), then the criticism against him from someone will not be looked into unless he (the one criticizing him) comes with criticism that has clear-cut evidence which is just, that can be correct in which he criticized him for in a way which can be witnessed and observed (ie: clear-cut).”

Imam of Jarah wa Tadeel, Imam Ibn Ma'yeen رحمہ اللہ was asked about a man if he's (Thiqa) trustworthy or not?
So Imam Ibn Ma'yeen رحمہ اللہ replied:
How can be a person (Thiqa) trustworthy when he's a murderer of Hussain
[Tarikh al Kabeer La ibn Khaysama 2/945 #4033]
Thiqa - The term used in the science of Hadith to validate if the narrator is trustworthy or reliable of what he's narrating and on the basis of it he will be judged whether to take narration from him or not.

Asalam alaikum you mentioned spubs saying shaikh imran hossein quotes from ibn arabi. But i dont think you should be using spubs as a dalil for saying someone isnt upon the correct path. They arent exactly free from issues infact they have been spoken against by some ulema. They also have issues of hizbiyah.
Waalaykumasalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
Mmm.. I wasn't using spubs quote as a daleel. I was passing on the daleel they used.
No one is free from mistakes but here in this specific instance, they used the principles for general refutation which have been established by the ulama and applied it to this individual who falls under the category and such jarh wa tadeel is permissible according to our ulama by the students of knowledge & Allah knows best.
The issues of hizbiyah and the "some ulama" you're referring to, are matters which also have been addressed by the likes of shaykh ubayd al jabiree & shaykh rabee and other than them.
AllahuAlam, if the man is salafi and recognized by the ulama and spubs is incorrect, bring forth your daleel.

Is It Correct To Say Ar Radd Alal Mukhaalif (Refuting The Opponent) Is One Thing And Al-Jarh Wat-Ta’deel (Disparagement And Praise) Is Something Completely Different? - Shaykh Usaamah Al-Utaybee
Is It Correct To Say Ar Radd Alal Mukhaalif (Refuting The Opponent) Is One Thing And Al-Jarh Wat-Ta’deel (Disparagement And Praise) Is Something Completely Different? – Shaykh Usaamah Al-Utaybee
Shaykh Usaamah Al-Utaybee said, “…The differentiation between ar-radd ‘alal-mukhaalif (refuting the opponent) and al-Jarh wat-Ta’deel (disparagement/criticism and praise) as a complete and total differentiation, this indicates…ignorance…(as although they are two different fields they are also connected).

To sit in the circles of remembrance, with the teachers and scholars.
Knowledge is not achieved merely through extensive reading or by accumulating books. It is gained by studying with the people of knowledge, it is acquired from the scholars.
Knowledge is achieved, thus, by the scholars passing it on and is not just by collecting books as some people think. Some people today collect books, reading from the books of hadeeth, Jarh and Tadeel (the science of looking…

That Which Negates Precision From A Narrator
Thirdly: What are the matters that negate al-ḍabṭ (ie: accuracy) 1) Kathrah al-Wahm (ie: making a lot of mistakes): When a narration has been conveyed to a narrator as mursal (ie: disconnected) but he connects it (ie: mistakenly mixing it with another chain of narration), or he raises an āthar (ie: a narration that is supposed to be attributed to a Companion) to the Prophet ﷺ (ie: making it mawqūf). 2) When the narrator's narrations often opposes the narrations of one who is much more reliable than them, or (the narrations of) a group of reliable narrators. 3) Sū al-Ḥifdh: Someone who has a weak memory such that it cannot be established whether their narrations (when they narrate from memory) are accurate or not. 4) Shiddah al-Ġaflah (ie: extreme negligence): When the narrator is not attentive and thus one cannot distinguish what is correct and what is a mistake from his narrations. 5) Fush al-Ġalaṭ (ie: making serious mistakes): The amount of times the narrator was mistaken (in his narrations) is greater than the amount of times they were correct in them. 6) When the narrator's ignorance of the content of what he is narrating leads to him changing the meaning of the ḥadīth. 7) When a narrator (who relies on his notebooks for his precision) is negligent concerning preserving and maintaining what he wrote down. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. The Great Memorizer
Abū Bakr Muḥammad b. Isḥāq b. Khuzaymah said: “I have not seen under the sky anyone having more knowledge of and had better memorization of the ḥadīth of Allāh's Messenger ﷺ than Muḥammad b. Ismāʿīl (al-Bukhārī).” Much of The Modern Day Criticisms
And Al-Ḥāfidh al-Ḏahabī said: “A lot of the speech of al-aqrān (ie: contemporary scholars) against one another yuṭwá (ie: should not even be considered) wa-lā yurwá (ie: should not be spread), wa-lā yuṭraḥ (ie: should be discarded), with regards to the criticisms (from one contemporary to another), the man (ie: one being critisized) should be dealt with fairly.” ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. From the Principles of Jarh wa Tadeel: The Speech Between Enemies (Without Proofs) is Not Listened To
I say: We do not give attention to your words about your adversary on account of the ongoing enmity (between you), just as his words about you are also not to be listened to. For I have seen that Ibn Mandah levelled defamatory abuse against Abū Nuʿaym, tabdīʿ and also [stated] that which I do not wish to mention. Each of them are ṣudūq [truthful] in and of themselves and are not to be accused in terms of their transmission, and all praise is due to Allāh.
