To już trzeci tom z serii opowiadającej o walkach i wszystkich trudnościach wikingów, zwłaszcza tych najsłynniejszych. Mówię tu o sławnym Ragnarze Lothbrok i jego synach, chociaż i inni mniej znani wikingowie mają tutaj swoje przysłowiowe trzy grosze do wtrącenia.

,,Gniew Północy" skończył się najgorzej, jak tylko mógł, pozostawiając nas w napiętym oczekiwaniu na kolejny tom. A chodzi mi tu o śmierć legendarnego wojownika i paskudną zdradę. I to nie jedną, jak możemy się przekonać już na pierwszych stronach trzeciego tomu gdzie Eryk Krwawy Topór najechał na Hedeby, gdy synowie Ragnara wraz z wielką zebraną armią udali się do Northumbrii. Dlaczego tam się udali? A to dlatego, aby mścić się za paskudną śmierć ich wielkiego wodza.

Gdy dochodzi do tak wielkiego starcia na terenach Anglii, nikt nie jest bezpieczny i nikt nie ucieknie przed furią wikingów. Jednak gdy powstaną pewne niedogodności, to trzeba wyjść im naprzeciw... i to właśnie zamierza uczynić niesamowity Ivar Bezkostny, dla którego sława oraz dobra strategia jest wszystkim.

Pozostaje mi zostawić tutaj tylko dla was takie pytanie: Jak daleko jest w stanie się posunąć ten Demon Śmierci, aby dopiąć celu? Odpowiedź na to znajdziecie w tej oto książce, to mogę wam obiecać ;)

Przez takie książki, jak te cieszę się, że widać progres w pracy autora. Trzeci tom zdecydowanie różni się od pierwszego. Wciąż zdarza mi się pogubić przy tym kto mówi... ale i tak widać tu kawał dobrej zmiany. Bohaterowie też są coraz mniej płascy, chociaż dalej nie mogę przecierpieć jaką rolę do odegrania dostał najstarszy syn Ragnara... no ale mówi się trudno. Wracając. ,,Potęga Zemsty" jest zdecydowanie bardziej rozbudowana i ciekawa niż poprzednie tomy. I chociaż czasami irytował mnie ciągły przeskok między perspektywami, to rozumiem skąd ten zabieg i dlatego aż tak go nie potępiam.

Co do fabuły, to mi się podobało (zwłaszcza końcówka, przy których autor zawsze coś tak dowali, że aż rwie do czytania kolejnego tomu). Cała ta seria jest o walkach, ale w tej książce było coś wyjątkowego, czego nie było w poprzednich dwóch tomach - Ivar miał prawdziwe kłopoty - za co jestem wdzięczna panu Komorowskiemu, bo bez tego ta postać byłaby wręcz zbyt wyidealizowana. I to przejęcie Hedeby i to, co tam się działo... no warto po to sięgnąć, żeby dowiedzieć się, jak to wszystko tam wygląda.

Na koniec tylko dodam, że bardzo zaskoczyła mnie Amira, która przeszła chyba najbardziej gwałtowną zmianę ze wszystkich postaci i to jest super, bo dzięki temu widać jak działania Ivara mają na nią wpływ.

,,Potęga Zemsty" dostaje ode mnie 7/10.

Had a disgusting (well, technically good) moment of becoming an adult. When I was a teen and was obsessed with grey's, I thought MerDer was everything! The McDreamy's were the end goal, but now, I'm with Cristina. He is very dreamy, he was very dreamy, kinda became a bitch near the end, but Meredith deserved more, and she deserved better! She lost a husband in season 11, but gained two sisters, and that's what it's all about. Or stm. Whatever. Having said all that, I have finally watched Derek's death and I fucking cried way more than I thought I would.

But yo, then later when one of his doctors came to Mer's house as Callie's date? DUDE!!! But also that scene of Mer confronting the primary doctor who caused Derek's death AND at a hearing over her medical license. That was iconic. Bitch died 'cause Mer called him out, poetic. But also, also at the fact that of the new season, only Mer, Bailey, and Webber remain of the original cast, my little tween heart is crying. I've been watching Grey's since I was like 13/14. Correction, since I was like 11. 2006 was so long ago. 🤷‍♀️

I know, I know, there's loads of other stuff I should be doing, but I was struck with inspiration during the car ride home and came up with some GW posts. Confirmed: Our favourite Ice Queen and Ukrainian Prince are officially an item. Doesn't it just make you tear up when a ship finally sails? Speaking of, be careful not to sail into rough waters. ties in with my Round I story for HSWW, but applicable to GW as well, so meh. I just wanted to make a set with my favourite paolo sebastian dress (it's the once upon a dream one, it's MY dress tbh, I may not be able to afford it, probably ever, but it's still mine XP)

some context: so Midsummer is celebrated in numerous places around the world, and each country has different traditions, even countries as close to each other as Norway and Sweden. In Sweden, celebrations take place on Midsummer's eve instead of the day itself, and is a defacto public holiday (Midsummer's Eve), with many shops and offices shut for the day. Midsummer's day is a saturday between June 20 and 26, with celebrations taking place on Midsummer's eve on a friday between June 19 and 25. Homes are decorated with greenery, meant to bring good fortune and health to people and livestock (though most people don't believe in the superstition, it's just festive now). The main event is raising and dancing around a maypole (referred to as a majstång or midsommarstång), and generally attracts families and friends. The Sauvageon's typically hold two Midsummer events every year at their estate in Enköping. In either the morning or around midday on Midsummer's Eve, they will have a traditional maypole dance (generally reserved for themselves and close family friends). It's sort of like a picnic of sorts, held outside in their gardens with food and music (a live band in the days of Svea's father and his siblings, a phone with endless Eurovision songs since she could speak). In the evening of the same day, they hold a large ball, which attracts other noble and wealthy families from around Sweden and neighbouring nations as well. Both events are both to muggle and magical alike, so some uppity wizarding families choose not to accept their invitations.

yeah, yeah, I should be working on opening up Svea for GW plotting, but I'm feeling super meh and needed some cheering up and how better to do that than with eurovision?

inspired by @.maybones, @themadmonarchist, and @.ghostpastey's single event, coherent social media stories, made a gallery of pictures from Eurovision Grand final viewing party from the last eurovision song contest.

There's drinks, dancing, food, screaming in rage at the screen when your fave doesn't get douze point. Because Svea's most obsessed with eurovision at the school, it was definitely hosted by her and in the slytherin common room. Someone definitely ended up magically looking like Verka. how they managed to get some of her hair for the polyjuice potion, I do not know.
