[11:00pm] Unknown - OMG I AM SO SORRY JI! (This Jihoon right?) I totally didn’t mean to not text you but I came home, had a small talk with Yoongi and literally passed out :(((( I am sooooo sorry!!!

[11:01pm] Woozi - Oh thank god...I almost called Yoongi and yea haha..I put my producer alias in your phone cause I already saw another Jihoon in there

[11:01pm] Woozi - Its okay...you were tired right? Why aren’t you sleeping?

[11:03pm] Y/N - You’re THE Woozi!? And why aren’t you?

[11:04pm] Woozi - I’m THE Woozi and I asked first ;)

[11:04pm] Y/N - I can’t believe it! Also I have some stuff to do~ Yoongi must’ve set an alarm for me or smth.

[11:04pm] Woozi - So late?!

[11:05pm] Y/N - Work never stops :)) Plus I have this tune in my head I need to get out or else I’ll hate myself if I forget it ><

[11:06pm] Woozi - I know that feel...listen, there was something I actually wanted to ask you…better yet..can I just call you?

It was literally a few seconds later before your phone rang and you saw Jihoon’s number pop up and you quickly answered it.

“Hello?”

“Hey Y/N...sorry, I know it’s late…but”

“No...its okay whats up?” you asked as you heard the hesitation in Jihoons voice.

You could hear him let out a nervous breath and you patiently waited for him to continue.

“Do you...want to hang out next week? Like...just the two of us?” he asked quickly and you had to confirm that you actually heard right.

“Hang out…?” you asked and saw Yoongi standing by your bedroom door.

“No way” you mouthed as Yoongi’s eyebrow rose and he came to sit on your desk chair to listen to your conversation.

“I mean if you don’t want to it’s fine. I just thought..” Jihoon started as thoughts of taking back what he said started popping into his head.

“Oh no” you said cutting him off, “It’s not that. I’d love to...it’s just like, I dont know...Unexpected.”

“And fast.” you whispered away from your phone and Yoongi became more intrigued so he came to sit next to you on the bed so he could really listen to what Jihoon was saying.a

“I know...it’s just yea...It’s weird okay? I’m not really good at talking to girls but with you its just so natural and yea... Wait did you say you’d love to?” Jihoon asked sitting up straight in his bed and his eyes wide with surprise.

“Yes?” you answered and looked at Yoongi weirdly, as he started making kissy faces at you. “We’ll be starting the dance season soon so just let me know a time and place.” you smiled. You couldn’t believe the guys were right of all things.

“I will.” Jihoon said as an awkward silence engulfed you two. “I should get going...I can hear a rat on the other side of my bedroom door…”

“Oh really? Maybe I should send the cat that’s currently in mine to take care of the rat.” you said making Jihoon laugh as he imagined Yoongi showing up this late just to kick Soonyoung. “I’ll see you tomorrow?”

“I’ll see you tomorrow.” Jihoon said as you heard shuffling, “Oh, there’s two rats here that I’m going to have to squish.”

“See you tomorrow...and go easy on them. Rats are just rodents after all.” you said with a giggle.

“Oh and Y/N?” Jihoon called out before you hung up and you put the phone back to your ear.

“Good night and sweet dreams.” he whispered and you felt the heat rise to your cheeks.

“You too…” you said and quickly hung up just as Yoongi burst out laughing.

“Please tell me I am the best matchmaker in all of this country. I literally got two people together within a two day period.” he said holding his stomach as tears started streaming out of his eyes. “I knew talking about the other person would work but I really didn’t expect Jihoon to make the first move. I am the happiest brother alive right now.”

“Yea well you’re about to be a dead brother soon if you don’t get out of my room.” you said grabbing a pillow and smacking Yoongi with it as he continued laughing. “Seriously? The Woozi you would always talk about when you came to visit was Jihoon this whole time?”

“Of course. You know I never praise anyone unless they deserve it. Heck, you two are the only ones I’ve been mentoring.” Yoongi said, “And plus, you won’t have to worry about me or Jin approving since we already do.”

“Yes, cause you guys approving my relationships totally matter to me.” you said with a roll of your eyes and Yoongi scoffed.

“You know I can scare off any guy that hits on you within seconds flat. There’s no one good enough-”

“Except for Jihoon apparently.” you added.

“To date my little sister.” he finished and he pulled you into his arms, “Because you are our baby and if anyone fucks with you, they fuck with all of us.”

“Like those idiots who spread the rumors?” you asked and Yoongi nodded.

“The idiots who are currently attending the worst performing arts college in the country. Yes them.” he responded patting your hair, “You only deserve the best.”

Yoongi then flipped into mentor mode, you could tell just by the way he was looking at your studio set up, “Now let me see the piece that you had to lose so much sleep over last night to finish.”

Over the next few days, you had suddenly become extremely busy. Apart from working on the project with Jihoon, dance auditions took place and you were happy to see that Jihoon had auditioned and made the team along with three other people. You and Hoseok were also in the process of preparing the after school dance classes for people who weren’t in the dance program but still wanted to do it for fun and on top of that, you and Jihoon had your date coming up.

That didn’t mean that the two of you didn’t talk at all, in fact your friends had a feeling that the two of you talked too much. Even when working in your respective studios, the two of you had time to call one another to share a piece and give advice or even to go as far as to say hi and good night at times.

The guys of the house teased you endlessly about it and at the same time, the guys from the SVT frat house teased you about it too since they were too afraid to tease Jihoon after what he had done to Seungcheol and Soonyoung after your first phone call. Lets just say the two boys were bruised for days after he was done with them.

The date that Jihoon had set up was as simple as he was and you wouldn’t have had it any other way honestly. He took you out for dinner after dance practice one day and the two of you spent the rest of the time hanging out in your studio/bedroom talking and listening to a few pieces you had created till the early hours of the morning. Jihoon by far was impressed with the work you did but then again, you were Yoongi’s younger sister so the talent had to be passed down from somewhere. The night ended with Jihoon leaving around six in the morning to go back to his house and thankfully he had no classes that day and he was able to crash till about three in the afternoon while unfortunately you had to get ready for your usual dance meeting with the captains of the Senior and Junior team which consisted of Hoeseok, Soonyoung and Chan.

“Oh I really like this one.” Jihoon said as he clicked a piece you had worked on while in London, “I get travel vibes with this. Like road trip vibes.”

The two of you were back in your bedroom/studio a few weeks after your first date and it was safe to say that things were going steady. You never really talked about your feelings after the first date but it was obvious that actions showed how you felt for one another.

During classes, Jihoon would more often than not have his hand resting on the back side of your chair while the instructor would explain things or when it was lab time, he would have his hand wrapped around yours subconsciously as you worked on the various projects you were given. Even if it wasn’t a partner project, the two of you spent a lot of time working together, be it asking for input or just advice on the music in general.

He literally felt like he was on cloud nine when it came to spending time with you. Things were obviously going slow since you two hadn’t kissed yet (there were various times where Jihoon had to resist the urge) but it was also because things were new between the two of you and he didn’t want to push for anything and naturally, things just fell into place.

“It’s one of my favorites. I was going to submit it for a project but Yoongi wants me to work on something new for my final so I’m starting fresh.” you said talking about the final composition project, “What about you? Do you have anything yet?”

“I’m working on something.” Jihoon answered vaguely, “Yoongi’s actually giving me some advice on it.”

“Really?” you asked excitedly, “If Yoongi’s helping you with it then it has to be good...When can I listen to it?”

Jihoon gave you a smirk as he rolled over to the couch you were on from your desk. “At the end of year show case.”

“What?!” you said in complete shock, “B-But, that’s like months away! I should be able to listen to it before anyone else though...I am your girl-” you stopped yourself immediately as the words almost left your mouth and Jihoon only stared at you in shock at your almost slip. Had you really?

“What was that?” he asked rolling close to you as you hit your head with one of the pillows on the couch.

“Nothing, nothing at all.” you muttered as you felt him take the pillow away from you and felt lips press against your forehead instead.

Suddenly butterflies invaded your stomach and you felt your face turn extremely red. This was the first time Jihoon had ever initiated intimate contact between you two ever. Sure, he held your hand secretly under the tables here and there and he would play with your hair during class as his arm rested on the back of your hair but other than that, you two never really hugged or kissed or anything of that nature. You figured it was because of Jihoon’s past relationship that he was so careful but in reality, it was because he didn’t want to scare you off by being too straightforward.

“You can listen to the piece at the showcase and I promise that you will be front and center for it.” he whispered as he pulled you into his arms for an awkward sitting hug. All you could do was nod slowly as your arms wrapped around his waist.

“Okay.” you said as your head rested on his chest and the two of you stayed like that for who knew how long before Jin walked in with “snacks” he prepared. Aka low key checking on the two of you to see if you were doing anything “nasty”.

(A month and a half later)

[12:00am] Cheol - HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y/N!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HOPE YOU AND JIHOON FINALLY KISS ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY!

At the same time as the texts were coming in, Kimi, Yoongi, Jin, Hoseok and the rest of the BTS Frat house came barging into your room singing happy birthday as you were actually trying to sleep for once since you had a jam packed day planned for your birthday which included going to the dance captains weekly meeting and submitting two projects for different classes.

After blowing out the candle on the cake Jin had made, you were forced to stay awake till three in the morning since the guys wanted to celebrate a bit with you before the big party that night where they were sure Jihoon would take most of your attention. Kimi stayed the night in your room and the two of you ended up talking about Soonyoung and Jihoon for another hour before either of you fell asleep. To top it all off, Jihoon was going to be busy with Yoongi until your party so you wouldn’t see him for most of the day until after you were done your captains meeting that evening.

Jihoon sat on a bench outside the dance building playing games on his phone as he waited for you. He had the whole evening planned out from the moment you stepped out of the building and was ensured by Soonyoung and Yoongi that it was full proof. He quickly checked the time and saw that it was around the time your meeting would finish so he decided to get up and make his way over when a familiar voice stopped him in his tracks.

“Jihoon?”

He turned to the source of the voice and his breath caught in his throat as the girl who had once invaded his mind stood in front of him. The girl who he hadn’t thought of for close to three months now...not since meeting you.

“Hana…” he whispered as the girl smiled with a nod and started walking towards him but she stopped when she saw someone approach Jihoon from behind.

You were finally free from your captains meeting and had sent a text to Jihoon letting him know that you were leaving the building. When you saw his blonde head a few feet away from the entrance, you couldn’t help the grin that made its way to your face and you quickly made your way to him intent on surprising him but you paused for a moment when you noticed her. The girl that had broken Jihoon’s heart, the one who had broken his trust.

You remembered when Jihoon had opened up about his past relationship with Hana a few weeks after you met. He told you one day while the two of you were working in your studio about everything. From how she made the school accuse Jihoon of plagiarism so he wouldn’t get accepted into an advanced program when in reality, it was her who had stolen his music during their relationship and selling it to outside artist behind his back. The only way he found out was through a friend who was part of the music scene saying that he was offered a piece that sounded familiar to something he had worked on with Jihoon before. He had let everything out and it eventually lead him to his biggest confession of the night.

(Flashback)

“Did you confront her about it?” you asked as the two of you sat on the couch facing each other and Jihoon nodded his head.

“She denied everything...she said that I had taken the pieces she worked on and sold it and completely flipped the story. It blew me away, it broke all my trust. I literally felt like I had nothing left…I left my friends behind to go to a different college for her...” he said looking down at your intertwined hands and felt comfort as you ran your thumbs across his palm repeatedly. “I called Soon and Cheol and they convinced me to transfer...apparently they had shown Yoongi some of my work that I kept under wraps and only shared with them.”

“Let me guess, Yoongi was impressed and wanted to work with you right away.” you said and Jihoon nodded his head, “Yoongi knows talent when he sees it Ji. But that’s such a shitty thing that happened to you...It would be like me sharing Yoongi’s works behind his back and making a profit from it. It’s just not right and I’m so sorry you had to go through bull shit like that.”

“I just...I can’t let it happen again Y/N...I need you to understand that I really do like you and aftering hearing so much about you from Yoongi and finally being able to meet you...two years doesn’t really do what he’s told me justice. You’re more amazing than I could have ever imagined and you’re so caring towards all your friends…Everything with you from music, to common interests is just so natural...I’ve never felt this way with anyone before...until you.” he let out a breath and squeezed your hand when he saw you open your mouth to speak and you took it as a sign that he wanted to continue.

“The reason I’m telling you this is because I want you to know that if we...continue whatever we’re doing that you’re dealing with someone whos damaged. Someone who may not love or trust so easily but if you give me the chance will give you the whole world but if at any point you need an out or if somethings bothering you, you need to let me know Y/N...don’t hide things from me...I can’t...no matter what it is. Even if its stupid, I can’t let it go. She’s done so much damage to me that before I met you, I really felt like I had no purpose in life anymore…”

“And now?” your asked softly as Jihoon squeezed your hands and brought them up to his lips to place a gentle kiss on them making you blush intensely.

“I want to work harder on my music more than ever...working with Yoongi is one thing, but getting encouragement from you is another. You make me feel like a better person.” he said looking you in the eyes, “To see that smile on your face... I want to become a better person. Just...don’t do what she did to me...don’t break my trust Y/N..please.” Jihoons voice broke as you leaned over to hug him tightly and you felt his arms wrap around your waist bringing you closer to him and you felt the tears seep through your shirt. He didn’t want to admit to you that he had fallen fast and hard for you from day one. He wasn’t ready for that nor was he ready for your potential rejection.

At some point during that time, Jihoon had fallen asleep after crying and it was around midnight when Yoongi poked his head in to see you on your phone while lying on the couch while Jihoon slept in your bed, the tear stains evident from before.

You gave your brother a reassuring smile and told him that you’d be okay since you were currently working on a piece at that moment and had no intentions on sleeping soon. You had too much on your mind and had sudden urges to rip one Kim Hana into shreds for hurting someone like Jihoon like that.

(End Flashback)

There was no way you were letting a girl like her enter his life again, he did not deserve the pain she put him through and that was a straight fact.

“Ji!” you called out jogging over to him.

Jihoon turned around just in time to see your smiling face coming towards him and suddenly all thoughts he previously had disappeared until he saw the bags under your eyes and he suddenly became concerned.

“Hey Birthday Girl.” he said and poked your eye bags, “Did the guys keep you up with the messages last night?” he asked with a frown and you automatically shook your head.

“The boys from the house and Kimi knocked my door down at midnight because they wanted to be the first ones to celebrate with me till about three am...then Kimi and I talked for another hour after that....” you said and gave him the smile that always warmed his heart, “But your birthday message meant the most to me...more so than the cake Jin had spent the day slaving over.”

“I wouldn’t let him hear you say that…Or else you won’t eat for another week like last time” Jihoon muttered as he interlaced his hand with yours, “We should get going though, there’s something I wanted to do before your party.”

“What’s that?” you asked as he started leading you somewhere, passing Hana in the process.

You were surprised to see Jihoon completely ignore her as the two of you walked by and when you turned around, you saw her staring at the two of you and once your eyes made contact, you finally recognized her as someone who had attended the same program in London that you had but had gotten kicked out for unknown reasons after her first year.

“No freaking way…” you whispered catching Jihoons attention.

“What was that?” he asked and you looked up at him with big eyes.

“Is Hana Seungcheol’s cousin?” you asked out of the blue but Jihoon nodded anyways.

“That’s how we met.” Jihoon said, “How did you know?”

“I’ll tell you later…” you said biting your lip, “Where are we going?”

“Stopping by my place for a quick bit before we go to the party.” he answered as you turned a corner.

“Why?” you asked.

“Forgot your birthday present. Let’s go.” he said walking faster after he looked at his watch. He had quite a bit to do but he also promised Jin he wouldn’t be late for the party either.

Meanwhile, Hana was stuck to the spot she had been in when she first saw Jihoon till someone tapped her shoulder. She turned around to see an acquaintance she had met through a friend at school.

“Hey, you’re Hana right? I’m Lina, we met a few months back at the concert.” the girl said introducing herself.

“I remember you.” Hana said with a smile, “Thanks for showing me around for the week.”

“It’s no problem. You’re actually in luck too. One of the biggest Frat houses here is having a birthday bash for one of their friends and I was lucky enough to get an invite. Want to be my plus one?” Lina asked and Hana nodded her head.

“I’m always up for a party. Let’s go.” she said as the two linked arms.

Little did Hana know, she was about to have the shock of her life once she walked through the doors.

Conan Bring Cold Blackened Violence to France

For the penultimate show of a European tour that lasted over a month, CONAN played the Westill Festival in Vallet, France. For the occasion, I reached out to Jon and asked him if him and Dave (who was playing bass on this tour) would have a minute to answer a few questions. Although they were both quite tired from a month of hopping from one city to the other, they still managed to make time to talk about the tour, Blackskull Services, guitars, pedals, and amps. We nerded out about gear for a bit, right before Conan went on stage and literally blew up the PA. And I literally mean literally...

So, how did the tour go?

Jon: We’re two shows from the end now, and I could probably still go on a few more shows. I’m a bit tired but we’ve been out a whole month. We’ve been to fifteen countries or more all across Europe. So, it’s been good.

Dave: The tour was great. I haven't done anything like this for 25 years when Fudge Tunnel was touring. The whole thing was fine though, well organised and we had Un and Sixes from the USA along on all but the last two shows so we all made a lot of friends.

Dave, how did you end up playing bass in Conan to occasionally replace Chris?

Dave: I got to know Jon a little via Facebook, as he's a big fan of my old band Fudge Tunnel. Last year he asked me if I fancied filling in on bass for a couple of shows while Chris got married. That went OK, and he asked me to do a few more shows that Chris couldn't make due to his producing commitments. Then earlier this year he asked if I could do a whole four week european tour. Chris and his wife just had a baby, so I'm like "maternity cover" this time out.

Does it bring a different vibe to Conan to have Dave on bass?

Jon: It is a tiny bit different and it’s interesting. Dave and his band have alway been idols to me, so being on stage with him is really great. We’re very comfortable playing and working together, and we get along great. So, it’s brilliant.

You toured with Un and Sixes, which are two bands who have releases on Jon’s label, Black Bow Records. In addition, the whole thing was booked through Blackskull, right?

Jon: I released the first Un album on CD and digital and I think Translation Loss has picked them up for the subsequent release. I distributed Sixes’ more recent album in Europe.

Between Black Bow records, Blackskull Services and Conan, which is a very active band, how do you manage all of this?

Jon: With some difficulty, but it’s fun. I enjoy it, so I keep busy with it. I don’t do everything on my own. Blackskull is myself and my other half, Sarah. There are other people who work within Blackskull, who do the booking. On this particular tour Marie, who does some of the booking with Blackskull, handled all of that. So I can’t take any credit for that really. The tour is going really well and that’s because of Marie, really. She’s been really good at booking everything.

You basically started the booking agency and the name Conan has gotten some momentum, to say the least, over the last few years. It feels like you’re giving back by helping smaller bands.

Jon: I always get asked for advice, and I’m not an expert on everything by any means, but there are a lot of ways that you can help bands get over some of the hurdles, particularly in the early stages. That’s really why it was set up, just to help bands move forward. Obviously there are more serious aspects of what we do, such as negotiating with labels, booking tours, all the transactional things that we do. But on the other hand, we’re here for advice and guidance. I wish I had someone like this when Conan was starting out. There are certain things that we probably wouldn’t have done if we had the correct advice. So you can pass on your experience to other bands and we decided to make a business out of it.

Can you tell us about the bass and guitar you're using in Conan?

Dave: Up until this tour I had been borrowing Chris's Dunable Thunderclapper, which is a beautiful instrument. Conan plays in drop-F and his bass was custom made with that in mind, longer scale etc. As we were going away for a lot longer this time I put something off my own together. It's a P-bass body which I stripped down and re-finished. I put in a DiMarzio DP122 pickup and upgraded the wiring. it has a Gotoh bridge which I set back an extra inch to lengthen the scale. The neck is a fairly cheap jazz style thing which I got on eBay. To make a bass that plays in drop-F you need to use extra thick strings, Rotosound Dropzone+. The thickest string is a 175 and it still flops about and slaps on the fretboard.

I believe Jon started out playing Gibsons and then moved on to EGCs for a while, is that correct?

Jon: The first guitar I started using in Conan was by a British company called Gordon Smith. I had an SG and I recorded the first two albums on that. Over time I’ve used different guitars, I used to have an early ‘80s silverburst Les Paul custom. It’s a beautiful guitar but I didn’t really like the way the strap is bent at a sharp angle the way I wear it. There was once or twice where it actually popped-out of the strap pin. Not cool on a guitar that’s worth about £2,000. Around that time I had an Electrical Guitar Company all aluminium, which is a bit trendy I guess. They are great instruments, but I didn’t want to have two guitars that are worth so much money on the road. I sold that and I ended up noticing Dunable Guitars from Los Angeles, so I bought a couple from him. I have a Dunable R2, I have a Flying V, and I have another guitar that’s being made for me at the moment. It’s like a reverse body clone of a Guild S200. I’ve always loved the shape of this guitar, but not necessary all the switches that are on it. So I wanted that shape but with something more traditional in terms of options, just two pickups, tone and volume.

What about the scale?

Jon: These are not baritones, they are Fender scale [ed. 25.5”]. I’ve always had the Fender scale. The Gibson Les Paul obviously isn't a Fender scale, and the Gordon Smith was also a Gibson scale [ed. 24.75”].

Do you find the Dunables more comfortable to play due to the scale or is it more of an overall thing?

Jon: I find the overall comfortable enough and they hold the tune a little bit better.

Which is important since you guys are way down-tuned.

Jon: Yes, we’re dropped tuned to F. So it’s important that the strings are tight enough so they sound clear enough when you’re playing. So, that little bit of extra length on the neck definitely helps.

What string gauge do you use?

Jon: The bottom one is a .8 and then I go through to 14 I think. Right now I’m using Ernie Ball heavy gauge strings. They do an 8 strings set, which goes from 80 to 11. I use the first four wound strings and then I don’t remember what the 2 thinnest strings are. I don’t really worry about changing them because I don’t really use them when I’m playing. The other day, I replaced all my strings and just did the first four because they’re the only ones I use, like a poor man’s Max Cavalera.

Dave, I assume your rig is a bit different from what you were using in Fudge Tunnel. Are you trying to get close to Chris's sound or are you really just going for your own thing?

Dave: In Fudge Tunnel I used a very different sound. Much more top end, and standard tuning. So I mostly used Marshall solid states or Ampeg SVTs with Fender Jazz, Musician or Rickenbacker. When I play in Conan, I try to make it sound good to my ears. Chris is a producer and has much better ears than me, so it probably doesn't sound the same. He also has a much better beard.

I believe you are using an Orange OB1-300 and QSC RMX 850a (I could be wrong on this one) both rack mounted. Can you tell us a bit about this pairing and how it came to be ?

Dave: My Orange amp is an OB-500, which I really like. It's ridiculously loud and a bit more reliable than a full-on tube amp. The power amp is there just to run the Peavey cab, which is a 1x18. It's Conan's cab, and it's just there for the low end (there's a lot of low end). As far as I know all the speakers are stock. The 8x10 is one that we bought on the road, towards the start of the tour in Copenhagen. The one we brought over was a little worn out, and I managed to blow three of the speakers (oops!), so we upgraded. All three bands were using the 8x10 every night so it had to be done.

I saw that the guitar rig you’re using on this tour is different from the one that you’ve been using for a while now. Can you tell us about your current touring rig?

Jon: Very early on in this tour there was a signal problem with it. I haven’t tried it since so maybe it was my cables. But because of that I’ve switched it to two old Peaveys amps. I’ve had these Peaveys in the studio for years now and I’ve never really used them, but I had to bring them out of retirement for this tour. I actually had them fully overhauled and serviced just before we started the tour. I must have had some sort of premonition or something, like I knew this was going to happen. I started using them in Hamburg, which was only the 4th or 5th show on this tour and I’ve got two shows left and so far it’s been good.

I have the Hilbish rig at home and I’ve got the Peaveys now that all of a sudden have caught my attention, but I’ve just taken delivery of a valve rig made of a separate preamp and a power amp.

Are you going back to tube amps?

Jon: I’m just going to try it and see. I’ve got another band, Ungraven, in which I want to run two full stacks with two 8x10s. For that set up, I’m going to run two full stacks with this new rigs if it sound good. It’s a Mesa Boogie Studio preamp, the same one that Kurt Cobain used, and that is going to be run into a Mesa Boogie 295 power amplifier. This is a stereo power amplifier and each channel is 95 watts. That’s all tube. I’m interested to see how that sounds, I think it’ll sound cool. Then I’ll use the Hilbish or the Peaveys through 8x10s. I’d rather use the Hilbish if I figure out what’s wrong with it. That rig could run two 8x10s very easily so that’s what I’d rather use.

What made you decide that you would switch from tube to solid state? This is not a very popular move within the doom scene.

Jon: On our last album I used the Hilbish rig in which I ran a Boss HM-2 clone. I’m not using that pedal live right now, but I’ve been using it quite a lot. I don’t really know why people would have an issue with solid-state. Some of the coolest albums were recorded and played live with solid-state amps. In Crowbar Kirk uses the Orange solid-state 100 watts head, Jimmy Bower from Eyehategod uses a Randall solid-state. Buzz from the Melvins uses the exact same Hilbish rig I have, it was through him that I’ve heard of this amplifier. I like the versatility of it, I love solid-state.

Speaking of amplification, do you have any issues with volume restrictions? France and Belgium are known for having fairly low limitations.

Jon: It has been an issue in some places. Yesterday in France we were a bit louder than they would have liked. It was around 109 decibels and their limit was 102 or 103dB. Some of the shows it’s a little bit of a restriction but nothing too crazy. We played at this place called Fundbureau in Hamburg, which is actually a techno club, and the PA in there is for techno. It was the most powerful PA we’ve ever played through. Our sound guy is good at making us sound good while respecting the dB restrictions, but when he’s let loose on a loud PA it’s awesome. The sound in this venu was crazy. When we were playing the floor and the stage were vibrating all the time. After the set my feet were tingling. I’m not sure if I enjoyed how it felt but it sounded amazing.

Gear is an important component of your sound, so how do you make sure you have the gear you want when touring the US or Asia for example?

Jon: In America we’ve got our own cabs and I’ve got two Hilbish rigs out there. Friends of ours in a band called Serial Hawk in Seattle keep all of our gear in a storage room. We have a bass rig and two guitar rigs out there. We have three 4x12s and an 8x10. So when we go in America on tour it’s all there for us. It costs us less than we spent renting gear on the first two tours. So it makes sense. Rather than spending a fortune renting it I’d rather have some consistency. A lot of bands use Orange amps, and they’re great amplifiers. If I ever have to rent it, I’d rent Orange for sure. I like owning what I use. I can maintain it myself and I know that nobody abused it a week before. Touring through Asia, we played Japan one time and I just used two Marshall JCM 900 full stacks and on bass we used an Ampeg and an 8x10. Australia and New Zealand we just rent whatever’s there. Last time we went over it was Marshall. But if we can specify what we use, we just go for a cleanish sound and two full stacks. So Marshall can do, Orange would do.

Basically a loud pedal platform.

Jon: Yes, my pedalboard comes with me no matter where we play, so I know that’s always consistent. For distortion I’m using a Fuzzthrone, which is a really high gain Big Muff. It works really well for Metal, it works really well for slow, drony parts. I’ve got it dialed in quite well. Although, when I change my strings it sounds a little bit brighter than normal, so the last couple of shows was a struggle to get the feedback swell the way I like it. As long as it’s a clean sounding, loud amplifier I can probably sound quite consistent through them.

So let’s talk about your pedalboard. You’ve worked with Dunwich Amplification for the Fuzzthrone, how was that?

Jon: It’s a Fuzzface stacked up on a Big Muff tone, but I just told him what my favorite sound was and he made it, but louder and with more power to push the amplifier a little bit more.

You tried out prototypes?

Jon: Yes, he sent me a prototype, then I used that and he sent me the real thing. Since then I’ve had three or four different ones and they all sounded the same. He’s a great pedal builder. Right now I’ve got a Fuzzthrone and I’ve got a Nihilist, which is an HM-2 clone. It’s the same pedal I use on the album. The one I use right now has a clean blend, I think it would make for an amazing bass distortion pedal. I don’t use the clean blend for guitar, though.

I’m guessing your pedalboard hasn’t really changed since what you showed in the video you made a few years back.

Jon: Yes, it’s the same thing.

What about bass effects?

Dave: My pedalboard is pretty simple. I use a T-Rex power supply, MXR bass compressor, Boss tuner and a SansAmp bass driver. There's also a Boss Bass Overdrive just in case the SansAmp dies.

I saw on social media that you picked up Ground FX pedals. Are you using them on this tour?

Jon: No, when we played in Hamburg we went to my friend’s music store and we stayed just above it. This music shop is like a treasure trove. He has amazing instruments in there. I got to play on a late 60s Fender Jaguar and he’s got loads of cool Hiwatt, Orange, and Roost amplifiers. My friend Christian, who runs a festival called Droneburg, told me a friend of his made a couple different pedals and wanted me to try them. So I got one which is a bass distortion and one that is like a Sunn Model T preamp. I tried them out there and it sounded cool, but I wasn’t using my gear. So I’m going to try them once I go back in the UK and see if I can maybe use them on a record.

What piece of gear would you say is at the heart of your sound?

Dave: The modified bass is essential, along with unusual amounts of volume and drive. I wouldn't want to go "unplugged" in Conan.

Jon: Without a doubt the Fuzzthrone. I’ve been using that since Blood Eagle. I love how it sounds and it makes me play a certain way. It’s taken a new lease of life with these Peaveys that I’m using now, which I didn’t really expect. I love how it sounds. It’s a simple pedal and I have my sound dialed in so it stays pretty consistent no matter what amp I use it with.

You don’t play around much with pedals in studio then? Aside from the HM-2 clone on your last album, would you say that you don’t really stray from your sound?

Jon: I used the HM-2 clone mixed with a fuzz pedal. I didn’t use the Fuzzthrone on the last album at all, I used a Meathead [ed. by D*A*M]. I like mixing things up, maybe on this new album I’ll use the Fuzzthrone because it sounds pretty cool at the moment.

Is the new album ready to go?

Jon: Yes, I got some songs written. We just need to rehearse them a little bit and get them ready for the studio.

It’s impressive how active you guys are. It is something a lot of musicians can look up to.

Jon: It’s something I’ve always been interested in since my mid teens. Writing music has always been a goal of mine. Performing kind of took over and became a thing all of its own. I’ve never had any idea of what it would be like to go on tour, I’d never thought for a minute that we’d do that. We tour quite a lot, we’re very lucky. I don’t have a day job holding me back, neither does Chris. He runs his own studio so he’s flexible. Johnny is also very flexible with his work, so the three of us are lucky. It’s like the stars have aligned most of the time. When Chris isn’t available we can call Dave, which is great.

Thanks again to Jon and Dave for their time and for being so friendly and accessible after driving around Europe for a month. It goes without saying, but Conan played loud and hard and I’m very much looking forward to their next show in our neck of the woods.

looking back, did you expect to write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected?

around what i expected... i was aiming for 1 fic a month and didn’t quite manage to hit that but i feel like each fic was longer than usual (i’m a terminal shortfic writer so anything over 3k is long for me). like i kept going 1-4k over my projected wordcount which was extremely panic-inducing when i was trying to write to deadlines lmao so overall i’m okay with the quantity of words i produced this year!

what pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?

fandom-wise probably the survival show spiral and moving into ncity... if 2017 was the year of yugioh then 2018 was the year of rpf. some of the stuff i posted to socks was very uncharacteristic of my usual m.o but i think everything i put on main was very true to brand i.e ambiguous relationships + vague pining + emo conversations in the dark

did you take any writing risks this year? what did you learn from them?

i signed up for svtbb and had to drop out due to exam pressure, which was sad bc it’s the first exchange/fest i’ve ever defaulted on, but then i went and did lordeventeen and yuletide even though they partly ran through exam seasons too so i guess i learned nothing?!?

actually i think i probably could have afforded to take a few more risks genre-wise, i feel like everything i wrote in 2018 recycled the exact same themes but also at the same time those themes are the only thing i can write. terrible taste i will never change i will never improve that is a promise etc etc

what’s your own favorite story of the year?

reaching for you from the endless dream had me tearing my hair out while i was writing it but ultimately i feel like it paid off! i’ve always wanted to try canon compliant + magic and this ended up with some of the best writing i’ve ever done, plus i’m happy i was finally able to write something for one of my favourite svt ships <3 honourable mention to the concept behind when we see each other again, my post-disbandment allzzt ship manifesto titled after csc_uri_dasi_bol_ttae.mp3

best story of the year?

also reaching for you from the endless dream! i’m really proud of how this one turned out both in terms of technical quality (.... *repeats the same phrase 300 times* Is This Thematic Consistency?) and emotional beats, and it got so many lovely comments. i think this is probably one of my best fics ever, and i’m glad it struck a chord with other people too!

most popular story of the year?

not counting teiits since most of that was posted in 2017, it’s counting flower petals all day long, which really surprised me when i checked my ao3 stats? i must have hit the sweet spot of fandom growth + burgeoning ship popularity bc literally nothing happens in the fic other than one (1) kiss, but thank you for giving it so much love 💖

story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:

omg i think everything i wrote this year was WAY over-appreciated but coincidence makes sense, which features a f/f/f rarepair (raretrio?) in a fandom with very little western fan presence, so i’m not surprised by its stats but i’m still pretty fond of this one and consider it one of the better fics i wrote in 2018, and one of the best idolverse fics i’ve ever written

most fun story to write:

from first principles, the debate au fic i’ve wanted to write for like 6 years, my beloved pet project through the month of august, and i think it shows? i tripled my projected word count and in the process of writing fully converted to dreamyism(/renjunism), so a lot of love went into it, even though there are places you can tell i definitely rushed the execution. one day i’ll do justice to a proper nct sports anime fic...

story with the single sexiest moment:

all the rated content i wrote this year was posted to socks other than the brief dance studio 3some scene in take one step closer, but i genuinely have no idea if that was even sxc since i wrote it on my phone in a feverish last-minute sprint on a plane while blasting twice bdz and haven’t reread it at all jhfgdfjdfh

most sweet story:

the general tone of everything i wrote in 2018 was much less depressing than 2017 but i guess the sweetest story was we both chose each other... what’s more romantic than dismembering a bunch of thugs with your beloved partner and then jumping off a cliff together!!

story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:

kind of a weird question to apply to rpf... characterisation perceptions are constantly shifting based on current meta and au role needs, though i feel like i’m always struggling to play catchup and by the time i publish anything the general image has shifted ;__;

most unintentionally telling story:

from first principles draws heavily on my own experiences with high school debating... lots of 3rd speaker related anxieties and hangups projection all over the place in there lmao

hardest story to write:

every time i’m working on something, especially when i’m close to finishing, it is the hardest thing i have ever written... i can’t remember if writing has always been this difficult for me or if it’s an rpf thing. probably i struggled the most with reaching for you from the endless dream bc i’m deeply intimidated by writing jun (light of my life) due to the fear of not doing him justice, and also the deadline pressure nearly killed me. also at one point i called writing from first principles the worst experience of my life but looking back it wasn’t even that bad... mostly it was just that it kept getting longer and longer and eventually i was like Please God Let It End Already

biggest disappointment:

not finishing my svtbb fic... i am literally twitter user juncheolsoo i owe them SOMETHING!! not writing more fic. mediocre execution of decent concepts bc i got too impatient and rushed to finish things before i got bored of them

all of my fics about idol boys except one have over 100 kudos, which is just a ridiculous amount?! idol rpf fandoms have been so kind to me... i will work hard to become a better content creator in 2019!!

Once I read your description I instantly thought of our soft baby Min Yoongi. I naturally feel that he would want someone that isn’t so rude to other people. I mean in general, no one wants that but i feel he would appreciate it a lot because there’s a lot of people in the world that are just so bitter. He would also like that you never pretended to be someone that you aren’t and you’re just yourself through and through. He would appreciate that too people people often change for other people’s wantings. We all know Yoongi has a little dirty mind honestly. He would find it funny that you are such a friendly and kind person, even giving off the image you’re on the innocent side then bAM you say something dirty that just flips everything.

I feel he needs someone who is more talkative but not because he doesn't talk often but because he’s the type to be more to himself. Being with someone who is more open to talking to people will get him to open up a bit too and become more confident with it too. He would also really need someone who would listen and give him advice. He is an idol and music producer, he will stress if the music he was making either for his own mixtape or for the band, is good at all. Just like anyone else he will have self doubts. (Like the time he admitted he didn’t think he was that good looking. I was ready for him to catch my hands when i seen that.) but he will need someone to give him advice. If he was doing something right or not or is something happens, what he should do about it. Though he needs someone like that he would always be there for you. I feel like he isn’t too good with advice not because he sucks but because he is more of a listener naturally. He would let you pour your entire soul out to him and I can see him either cuddling you as you do so or even simply holding your hand. I feel he does try to give advice it’s usually short but really meaningful. Like for example let’s say you’re just having a bad day that day. He would just simply say something like,”There’s good and bad days. Don’t let a simple bad day determine your life forever.” or “ It will get better. I don’t know when or how but it does. It really does.” and then you just burst out crying because even the simplest words can hit someone in the gut honestly.

No doubt he is always there to encourage you to chase what you want. We all know dang well he is the type of person to push someone to what they want because look at him! He was just a simple rapper that wasn’t even that popular when he started at all he literally went from nothing to having fans all over the world!! If you don’t believe he’d be your cheerleader then we need to have a talk! I feel he is a family person, maybe not too close with his own family but he does wish to be a really good father. I feel that Yoongi and yourself would travel to different places. He does like taking pictures and he’d love to see new places so expect to eventually find out him taking pictures of you that you do know of and don’t. Overall his favorite place to be at is anywhere that you are. He won’t ever say it outloud lmao hell no. If he does the guys would probably give him shit for it but he really does love spending time with you. Even if it’s just lazing around and just waking up from your fifth nap that day.

SVT: S. Coups

I had two people in mind when I read over your thing but ultimately, he won this. This boy seems to be the most genuine, kind type of person you could meet. He may look tough but he’s the biggest softy ever, especially when it comes to his girl. You love taking care of others and that’s a cute thing he’ll love about you. This boy is the dad in the group and he cherishes his members and takes care of them just as much. This boy might thinks it’s cute you’re a bit clumsy, honestly. Moments when you almost trip and fall, he try to catch you or grab onto your arm before you tumble into the ground. He’ll be that boy to use those moments to his advantage and try to say some cheesy line like in the dramas. Honestly, I haven’t seen his dirty side but I wouldn’t be surprised if he had one. The fact that you have a dirty mind would probably be a huge turn on for him cause he’ll completely forget and the moment you say something like that. Oh boy, he might be shocked at first but then he’ll process it more clearly before his smirking at you.

S.coups seems like someone who would just listen to you pour your heart out about something, whatever it main be. He’ll just sit there, holding your hands in his as he listens. He won’t say anything until he knows you’ve finished but once you do, he’ll start speaking about what he thinks on the matter. And most times he’ll agree with you and encourage you to do what’s best for you in the end. He’ll want you to be happy and make the best decision that’ll benefit you. Even if things seem to go south, he’ll continue to stand by your side and let you know he’s there for you. He wouldn’t leave you to tackle something on your own. And he knows he can do the same with you. S.coups will gladly come to you in time of advise when he needs it most. He know you won’t judge him and will give him the best advice he needs.

He’s quite athletic and I’m sure he’ll want to tag along with you on few running adventures even if they are just around the park, or near the river. He’ll just want to spend time with you when he can even if it’s doing simple things with you. This boy isn’t the worst dancer in the group, but he does mess up quite a lot with dancing. He’ll have you come along with him when he needs to practice, maybe even teach you a few of the dance move and watch as you do better than him. He’ll just stand there with the biggest smile on his face as he watches you, making him think he got pretty lucky with you. And days where you guys lounge about, which might be most days, it’ll be quite refreshing and a sweet moments between you two. Just watching movies or just talking about whatever comes to mind, which could turn into hours of talking but it’s moments that you two cherish the most.

This boy seems like someone who want a big family as well. He would be the type to spoil and cherish moments with his kids as much as he could. He’ll give in to their begs and fall for their puppy dog eyes, sneaking in a “don’t tell mom” as he gives them what they want. He’ll love family outings and showing off the little bundles of joys he helped create.

Review Roundup - Week 1 January 2018

Hello babies!! Welcome to your debut Review Roundup for Week 1 of January 2018!!! I'm really excited to launch this series, because while I do love doing reviews, sometimes the only thing I can say about a song is "I like it, it was good". I also wanted a place I could spotlight releases from less popular acts (or even less conspicuous releases, sometimes) who don't exactly have 2309342 million fandom pages. This is a great way to combine that, I guess.

Before we begin, some ~rules~

For a song to eligible, it has to have an official video. Even if it's basically some shit an intern made in Final Cut Pro in five seconds, before uploading it. I just need to know that it's an ~official~ release.

No OSTs!! 90% of them are dry ass ballads, and I do not have the time, sis!! No OSTs!! /Edna Mode voice

And on that note, I might choose to skip a certain release, because I have nothing to say about it. Or nothing nice that isn't constructive criticism.

Yes, each video has a Rating™. Do not get hung up on said Rating, cause it's basically meaningless; it's just an arbitrary number based on how much I liked the particle song, mixed with how well I thought the song was written.

Just like with my Feature Spotlights, the blurbs here are just my opinion, sis. Please do not get hung up on what some gay bitch on the Internet has to say about your fave. I'm hella arrogant, but my words are not of God.

Grown Up (Soyou)

Grown Up is pretty standard fare for a Starship ballad. The company has always submerged themselves in RnB and Gospel sensibilities, and it shows here. Miss Soyou takes us to church with Grown Up. A very nice song which I appreciate, but will probably not listen to much, unless I'm in a Ballad Bitch™ mood.

TRCNG - Wolf Baby

"Ooh bitch... You mighta just did something there"

That was my first reaction to Wolf Baby, fam. I was ready and willing to write the song off, because the teaser did not show it off in the best light (it sounded like a demo of Hyosung's Into You, according to a friend) and the visual was more of the boys showing off their dance skill. Which is never a bad thing... Except when it's literally the same shit we've seen 20 million times from similar boy bands. But Wolf Baby delivers in full. Unlike the God awful Spectrum which takes after B.A.P in the worst of ways, Wolf Baby sounds and feels more like a Secret song (which sounds a lot better than you think it would). Wolf Baby shows that these boys have personality that can translate to the music, and Lord knows we need more of that in K-pop boy bands. I'm so tired of being charmed by these boys in variety, but utterly bored by their music.

Think about (Seo Ji An featuring KLANG)

Lissen... Whoever wrote this song needs to give me a refund. That intro had me thinking this was gonna a bombastic radio ballad. Like, they were about to hit me with that Ryan Tedder throwback shit. But instead, all I got was soft falsetto and a limp piano line.

Talk about a boner killer, sis.

But once I got over myself (and the song started to pick up), I realized that it was actually pretty nice. Nothing I'd put into heavy rotation, but this would be good shuffle bait.

(Sidenote - if anyone can find me anything on the female vocalist, KLANG, I will give you a hug and a cookie, because I really liked her voice)

XOXO (Soyeon of LABOUM x Park Jae Jung)

We're getting a jump start on the Springtime love duets, I see. I can't say I'm entirely mad, tho. XOXO, like Seo Ji An's Think about, falls within a category of songs I like to call shuffle bait. They're not terrible songs, but they're also not ones I feel obligated to put on heavy rotation. They're good for those days when you don't know what you wanna listen to or need some soft background sounds, so you put your music on shuffle. Not a category one should aspire to be in, but not one to be mad at for falling into, either.

I'm very happy that Global H made this a duet, cause Soyeon's overly bright tone could have tired out the ears very easily if she had to sing this by herself. And not only that, but Park Jae Jung provides a nice foil to Soyeon's voice with his smooth tone. All in all, a very nice song.

Honey Tea (OOHYO)

Miss OOHYO is givin us a little Bassa Nova in her Honey Tea, you guise!!

Honey Tea is another shuffle bait song that almost makes it in the Heavy Rotation camp with it's interesting choice of instrumental interludes; but alas, she doesn't quite make the cut. There's something about the production here that doesn't quite mesh right; the song elements don't meld into one another like they should, especially with such ~agreeable~ (for lack of a better word) elements as these. This song is really nice for what it is (the melancholic atmosphere nice for those days when you just wanna brood like an angsty teenager), but I needed just a little bit more.

Like Paradise (Kriesha Chu)

Something tells me that Future Bass is going to be everywhere in Kpop this year like Tropical House was last year, and I'm not quite sure how I feel about that. On one hand, you have Svt's Don't Wanna Cry and LONG:D x Kim Doyeon's All Night that are masterfully made songs. But then you have BTS's Best of Me and Kriesha Chu's Like Paradise, both of which are so fucking beige it makes me wanna slam my face into a wall. And it's really sad because, unlike Best of Me, Like Paradise starts out with a great verse. But then the prechorus goes right into generic territory with a chorus that's so anybody, it's almost frightening.

Kriesha Chu exploded onto the scene with a familiar formula in Trouble, but she did enough to make it her bitch, so idk what happened here. A friend mentioned that she feels as though she's heard this melody fifteen times, and I wouldn't be surprised if she has. This song isn't bad, but it don't got no soul. Which is a shame, because Miss Kriesha Chu has plenty to go around.

Blah (Planetarium Case #1)

Now this is a song that took me by surprise. I was not expecting that Tropical style beat to kick in when the verse started, but I mean... Y'all know how I am with anything and everything Tropical inspired. And then they had the nerve to combine that heaux with RnB style instrumation?!?!!

Bitch...

I wanna be mad at how much I like this song. I really do. I wanna care about how the vocalist's voice is a touch too bright and whiny for that kind of vocal processing (it's faint, but it's there). I wanna feel some type of way about how that kind of vocal processing isn't really suited to this type of song. I would like to have some kind of critique here, but everything just slots together in a way that I can ignore the little things I don't care for.

Sis, idk how these underground labels know me well enough to make such targeted attacks against me like this, but I'm not mad. In fact, I'm very okay with that if I get to walk away with songs like Blah. Can we get more of this, instead of Future Bass or whatever other kooky trends are gonna rule K-pop this year?!?!!

Foresight Dream (Younha)

Hello, Miss Younha!! It's nice to see you giving us something other than classical ballads like some kind of Baek JiYoung knockoff.

...was that mean?!?!!? Okay yeah, that was mean. Oh whatever, it isn't like other people weren't thinking it.

Copious amounts of shade aside, I'm been very here for what Younha has been doing, musically, since Get It. She's swapped out the ballads for a more RnB/Pop sound that's very in line with what the K-RnB World has been doing lately, and I couldn't be happier. Foresight Dream is a dreamy piano driven song that's a bit too downtempo in groove to qualify as an Acoustic Coffee Shop RnB Midtempo, but still has enough drive to feel like it's actually going somewhere. And Younha's voice sounds amazing. She's got a voice very similar to Alice from HV's, but Younha has more depth to her tone. All in all, a very magical experience.

One critique I have (and it's not even of the music) is that I'd have liked if Younha had released Foresight Dream before the GroovyRoom produced Parade. With the way Parade followed the ph-1 assisted Hello, I had assumed that she was done releasing songs. But with Foresight Dream coming after those two, it kind feels like it dampens her momentum. Idk, I'm just being a picky bitch.

This nigga talmbout how he want his money back, but I want my fucking time back from listening to this hot mess.

Okay, let me roll back the shade for a second. This song really isn't that bad. I've heard F A R worse from the likes Jay Park, Zico, and Dok2. But dude, this is a touch too fucking generic for a winter release. You couldn't have saved this for summer?!?!? When niggas is actually trynna shake they ass to generic trap beats?!?!

To be honestly, I'm tired of hearing these kinds of songs in K-HipHop. Especially from dudes who have tones like Giriboy. Their voices are whiny as fuck all, and these kinds of beats usually have a lot of higher tones in the mix (for those who are too bougie to listen to trap, producers typically use high, tinny synths as the main instrument in trap beats), so it's just a headache in the making. It's already hard enough to make a trap song without it sounding too repetitive, but these fools have truly tired me out with this genre. I can't even think of something to say about this song, cause it's just so generic.

Paint Me (Mamamoo)

I'm sorry... MamaWHOMST?!?!?!!

Jokes aside, I'm not quite sure how I feel about this song. Mamamoo is a group that I once loved, but all that went sour when they decided to do blackface in concert (and then post a BTS video of getting into costume for said stage a week after posting an apology). And if I'm being honest here, their only good songs are You're The Best and Piano Man. I stanned for their other tracks for the culture; I liked what they did with the songs live. I didn't really listen to them, but tis the life of a K-Pop stan.

In retrospect, it's quite interesting how Mamawhomst Mamamoo haven't promoted a big power ballad like Paint Me before. The instrumentation is basic as all fuck, but it allows emphasis to be put on their vocals. Which are half the reason Mamawhomst Mamamoo survived Nugudom, in the first place. But as great as their voices are in this song, it just doesn't go anywhere. It throws you from one extreme to the other, and then ends. It's hella polarizing, and not something I really wanna put myself through with repeated listens.

A Day I Want To Love (HEYDAY featuring Lim Eun Young)

A Day I Want To Love is a very typical classical ballad, and while that usually has me running for the hills, I decided to give it a chance. And I mean, this isn't a song that I'd put into Heavy Rotation, but it'd fit in very nicely with all the songs I download to use as shuffle bait. I'd also quite like to hear this sung live. Idk, I just feel like it'd come off better that way.

OGZ (Jo Woochan x Park Hyunjin x Achillo)

I don't understand this song.

That's not to say that it's bad. The beat reminds me of wewantourmoneyback, but GroovyRoom decided to make a more interesting remix of it. And the boys all hand in amazing verses. But idk, yo. This song just feels weird as all fuck.

Missing You (VOISPER)

How fitting that this is the song that closes out the main list week. Missing You is another lowtempo shuffle bait track (the mood for this week, apparently), but this time around, we get some horns in the mix. Which I greatly appreciate, because without them, this song would have been extremely boring. VOISPER have nice voices, but their technique is kind of sloppy. And I don't usually sweat shit like that, but it's really noticeable here.

So... You've made it to the end of the post (thank you, btw), and are now wondering what in the actual fuck a Fabulous Five are. Well, it's simply a fancy title (because your bitch is hella dramatic) for my favorite songs of the week. In fact, if you payed any mind to the (badly made) gifs at the top of the post, you'd notice they're from the following videos. Anyway, there's no real metric for what goes here, just songs that I stan a lot.

Lower is God tier, sis. I've read a few people's reviews of the song, and the one thread of commonality between them all is that Lower is generic and not worthy of the f(x) brand. And while I'm not gonna sit here and act like Lower isn't something I'd expect to hear at a European gay club (or any gay club for that matter), I really like what Amber and Luna did with this song.

I also think that Lower should be considered a performance piece above all. I view EXO's Monster this way - I don't care for the song by itself, but I'm hype as fuck when there's an accompanying visual. Amber and Luna could have made this beat their bitch (Luna certainly has the vocal chops for it, and Amber could have done ha thing with a lil rappy rap), but the main focus of the song is the breakdown. And they dance for their fucking lives to said breakdown.

I can't tell you if I'd have liked this song so much from another duo in K-Pop or if I'd have liked it if it didn't come with a video, but the reality is that like it.

Me Likey Likey a lot!!

I'm really hoping that SM sees how well of a unit these two make, and decides to debut them, officially. Cause God only knows we aren't getting any new material from f(x) anytime soon. Victoria is too busy livin ha best life in China, and Krystal is too busy looking fed up for no reason with Jessica, whilst people throw money at BLANC & ECLARE.

4. Hot Potato (N.FLYING)

Before I start in on my review of this song, I just wanna ask what the fuck is up with idol bands being filled with beautiful ass humans?!?! Like?!?!?! Anytime I watch anything with Day6, I can't help but wanna cry at how hot they are. And watching N.FLYING's Music Core comeback stages, I got the same feeling. I could barely pay attention to the songs. Am I really just that thirsty?!?!?

Nobody fucking answer that, I know I'm thirsty heaux. I don't need you shady bitches dragging me for it.

Existential crisis aside, Hot Potato is a banger. I'm really hoping 2018 is the year idol bands start thriving, because I need more songs like these in my life. The verses are pure octane fun, while the choruses are power pop crack. I dare one of you to tell me you wouldn't sing along to that chorus if you knew Korean. I fuckin D A R E you!! And whoever's idea it was to add Yoo Hweseung from Produce 101, I wanna kiss you silly. His chemistry with Lee Seunghyub is ridiculous!! And in addition to that, an added vocalist allows them added flexibility with with N.Flying's rap/sing vocal style. I'm just so happy with this song, especially with how little love I had for The Real. It's great, sis.

3. Her (Drug Restaurant)

Raise your hand if you had no idea that Jung Joon Young's band changed their name to Drug Resturaunt!?!?!?

Oh that was just me, not paying attention to anything?!?! Okay...

The first time I heard Her, I was immediately mesmerized by that opening chord progression. Some part of my musically trained brain knows how overused that progression is, but the rest of me is too busy blissing out to it to care (to be fair, most chord progressions in popular music are overused, because there's only so many that actually sound good to our ears). Her is no one trick pony, tho; she may come back to the oddly dissonant and melancholic texture of the intro now and again, but she always makes sure to give you something new with it.

The rest of the song is pretty great, too. Jung Joon Young has a very smooth texture to his baritone, very similar to BTS's Kim Taehyung (and if y'all know anything about my gay ass, y'all know I'm a H E A U X for baritones), and it's a great contrast to the grit of the instrumental.

Her is a very nice intro (err... reintrduction) to a great band. I keep telling myself I'll get back into rock like I was in middle school (the only good thing about being a weeb is J-rock and VISUAL KEI, I will fight you if you say otherwise), and it looks like God decided to help a girl out.

2. Twenty Something (Alice featuring Yooyoung of HELLOVENUS)

Hello?!?!? Fantagio?!?!?! Starship Entertainment called; they want their Acoustic Coffee Shop RnB Midtempo back.

Yes, I realize I'm not that funny, but it's not gonna stop me from cracking jokes

So... If you don't know what an Acoustic Coffee Shop RnB Midtempo is, it's basically the RnB version of an acoustic midtempo ballad (hence the acoustic coffee shop bit). They're usually not acoustic at all, but they still have the same feeling as an acoustic ballad, if that makes sense.

And can I make a bold statement here?!?!!? Fantagio just declared a turf war against Starship with this song. Yes babies, it's that fucking good. Starship is usually my go to for Acoustic Coffee Shop RnB Midtempos, but it looks like Fantagio wants to throw their hat in the ring for consideration.

Alice has the right amount of grit to her voice to really hook you in, but a decent amount of brightness to help uplift the track. And Yooyoung's rap is just... Oh my God, it's so good!! I wanted it to be longer, sis. A++ content!!! She provides a nice texture change that makes Alice's voice pop when she takes over the track again. And the instrumentation just makes my brain happy tingle. God, I'm just so in love with this song!!

My only complaint is about that flat ass, limp ass, needs to be put out of it's misery ass high shriek Alice does over the final chorus. Guys, I am so tired of my ears being accosted by these singers trying to belt. Most of K-Pop's vocalists are sopranos with bright ass tones and absolutely no power behind their voices. This obsession with high belted notes at the end of songs is just so weird, and if y'all are gonna continue to do it, I need y'all to integrate that shit into the song better. Don't just have a vocalist do their best "OH MY GOD, THEY'RE TRYING TO KILL ME" shriek. It's so irritating!!

And apparently, this is the first of a monthly song single campaign Fantagio is doing for 2018?!?!!? Someone at that company wants me to die, sis. First, they inflict Ong Seungwoo and Park Jinwoo on my ass, and now this.

Secondly, Queen JooE is outchea livin ha best life, and I'm just so here for it. I was ready for Bboom Bboom the second the teasers started rolling in, and my excitement hit an all time peak with the Great! highlight medley showing that the entire mini was Banger Central™. My only complaint about the song is that the transition from the trap beat to the regular beat in the second verse was so throwed together and clunky. Did y'all run out of time to really integrate that right, cause?!?!?!?! I love that section, but that it could have been handled way better.

Still my favorite song of the week.

I’m suffering real post concert depression right now and overwhelming love for my boy lee jihoon

like it didn’t hit you yet that your best friend of forever was leaving you and home for god knows how long

and so you just blurted it out one night like a few days before he was leaving

you two were playing video games when you put down the controller like “don’t go.”

jihoon was like “what????”

“to seoul, don’t go.”

he was flabbergasted like ????

and then you just started pulling things out of your ass

“what are the chances of you actually pulling this off???”

“jihoon this is dumb”

“just stay here”

oh and then this one triggered him

“what if you’re not good enough”

hiS FACE GOT SO COLD, he never looked at you that way before you were honestly a bit scared

he started yelling at you about his dreams and how you were supposed to support him and how he felt so betrayed and then

“you’re not my best friend. get out.”

and that’s how you ran out crying back to your house

you didn’t talk to him the next day, you actually couldn’t face him

but the day after that he was leaving and as much as you were scared to see him, you couldn’t let him leave without saying goodbye so you woke up and ran to his house in your pjs to see him eating breakfast with his parents

“oh y/n, jihoon was about to see you” his mom said with a smile

“make up already, we all know you two can’t stay mad at each other for long” his dad said as you and jihoon were walking upstairs to his room

it was quiet at first but then both of you started saying sorry at the same time and you kept talking so just like honestly it was a relief

you ended with a hug and a few tears saying how much you were both going to miss each other and how you’ll text and keep in touch

sadly you couldn’t accompany him to the bus bc you had a school thing so you said goodbye at his house

you guys did keep in touch of course but as the days weeks months and years went on with him not coming back home bc practice you eventually stopped texting and calling each other

you began pursuing your own thing - highkey you were a really talented volleyball player and you were happy your parents were your biggest fans and you actually thought you could do this for a career

when jihoon debuted you were so excited you were keeping tabs on him and his group bc hello you were his best friend!

you literally burst out laughing at his pink hair but you were also like “aw he looks so different nice job puberty”

you sent him a text on his debut day and he responded so fast you were a bit shocked tbh

you guys didn’t talk to each other again for a while bc hello he’s a hot idol now

bUT THEN YOU FOUND OUT you got accepted to the most competitive volleyball team in seoul so ofc you had to go

the first couple months you were so caught up with practice that you never even thought of texting jihoon

and then he called you one night like

“you’re in seoul??? what the heck man why didn’t you tell me?”

“what how’d you know?”

“one of my members watches volleyball and we were all watching and i saw you and yeah”

and that’s how you ended up setting up a date and time to meet up with jihoon at his dorm with the other 12 members of seventeen????

you were honestly a bit scared like you knew his group, you knew enough about the members to know who all of them were, you actually really liked their music and it still amazes you every time you think your best friend produced this song???? but like whAT IF THEY DON’T LIKE YOU

and then you rang the doorbell dressed sorta nicely like -> (girl / boy)

and this one really tall guy with dyed hair opened the door

“oH YOU MUST BE JIHOON HYUNG’S BEST FRIEND? HE TALKS ABOUT YOU A LOT!! IM MINGYU!”

and then jihoon comes out and tells mingyu to let you in and to stop being annoying and

yOU ALMOST HAD TO DO A DOUBLE TAKE BECAUSE brO

and like you saw his pictures from his comeback BUT

him in person WOW and he got taller than you so like ;)))

but you two greet each other in a big hug and his busan accent came out while talking to you and his members are just like :)))) “we’ve never seen him so hyper :))))”

and so you meet all his members and you guys eat for a bit and honestly you hit it off with them thEY LOVE YOU and when you and jihoon go to his room for some best friend catch up time some of the boys start pouting and whining and it’s really cute but jihoon pulls you towards his room with jeonghan mingyu and cheol and just locks the door

you two talked for the longest time it was like you were back in busan in his bedroom and that made you tear up a bit like you missed him a lot like the first year or two coping without him was absolute hell for you

you were the only person that he felt so easy to talk to like words flowed out endlessly and without that comfort in the beginning he was so lost

sadly you had to go back to your own dorm and so you said goodbye to jihoon and seventeen (not before you got their numbers and snapchats)

you still didn’t see jihoon very often, but you certainly did communicate with him a bit more

every time one of you had a break, you would send a snap and a little “hey loser good luck with adsfgfdj today”

you honestly didn’t know when you began to catch feelings for jihoon and same with him

like the rare times you two hung out together, the first thing you noticed was how good he looked no matter what he was wearing

you just like began noticing every little thing he did

you especially loved seeing him work at his studio or seeing him dance

his body just moved so fluidly??? like he wasn’t in the performance unit or anything but he was so good at dancing!!!

and his seriousness when working at his computer like you were in awe how did you not notice this handsome face since idk your birth?

when he caught you staring at him yOU BLUSHED SO HARD and he did that little smirk like “you okay there?”

that night you were in your bed just thinking about him like you were making theories and everything

you got hella scolded by your coach bc you kept making mistakes at your game and you were just not having it so you went to their dorm a bit uninvited just like hoping they’d be okay with having your company for a bit bc you needed some lovin

you were literally about to cry and all the boys were like “y/n no!!!”

so they kept trying to make you laugh and that really made you feel better

and then they started being sly with you and jihoon bc you sure as hell know that they know about jihoon’s crush on you

“what the hell???” jihoon accidentally said out loud

everyone was laughing like hard crore even you

and then baby just left to his room and you’re like ??????

so of course you go after him and try to talk but he’s just in his room all stoic and a bit irritated just at the mere thought of you and minghao together

so you’re like “jihoon what the heck? it’s just a harmless topic”

“why don’t you like me??”

“don’t be dumb, we’re best friends-”

“exactly, that’s why I should be your favorite”

“stop being a baby”

“I’m not! just thinking about how you like minghao makes me wanna punch him”

and you like cross your arms and sigh bc even when he’s overreacting he’s still so fucking cute!

jihoon hates pda with the guys but he LOVES it with you it sort of offends the boys a bit

he always holds your hand he loves being connected to you

really likes it when you give him back hugs tho

really appreciates when you force him off the computer and you two just lay down on the couch in his studio cuddling and you’re just stroking his hair

sort of addicted to kissing you too especially on the shoulder

it’s honestly perfect because you guys are just so comfortable bc hello again you’ve known each other since birth

the boys love you and they always count on you to take care of him when they can’t and vice versa

support 100000% he streams your games and you his performances

you’re his muse to everything you’re the reason he gets up every morning

tours are hell bc all jihoon wants to do is hug you and sometimes facetime is hard bc time zones but you both somehow make it work

you guys barely fight at least not big ones, you both understand it won’t be easy but you love each other so it’s okay

there’s a huge amount of trust which is so important when he travels

when he announces you to the public you get a fair amount of hate and he got so sad but you’re like “eh”

eventually the fans accept you and love you bc like you’re jihoon’s best friend and who better to be with him than someone he’s known his whole life???

Maid of Honor: Epilogue

HAPPY SEPTEMBER!! So ultimately, I decided to take the rest of August off to recuperate from being sick the whole work stress thing but now that Septembers rolled around, it’ll be easier for me to manage my work load so I’ll start posting regularly again. Due to popular request -Coughmarycough- I’ve written this epilogue for MOH (also for Wonu-anon~) soo I hope you enjoy it!!

A year had passed since Mingyu and Hye-mi’s wedding and things with Wonwoo were nothing like you would’ve imagined had you stayed in any of your old relationships. He was nothing but perfect and you couldn’t have asked for a better man by your side.

You two finally moved in together after eight months since the lease on the apartment SVT Corp. had provided was up and it didn’t make sense for him to buy a new place. Your apartment more or less stayed the same since you and Wonwoo were simplistic people, though you had gained a nice DVD collection as well as about two extra shelves to accommodate his many pieces of literature among many gaming systems, all courtesy of Wonwoo.

Your work days were a routine. Wonwoo would wake up first, start the coffee and take a shower. Once he was out, he would wake you up so you could take your shower and by the time you came out, a steaming hot cup of coffee and breakfast awaited you on the kitchen counter. Then, you two would get ready and head out together, meeting Joshua halfway for coffee number two. You couldn’t help that you were coffee addicts right??

After work it really depended on who had projects or not but for the most part, you would go home together and relax. Work was never a topic at home unless it was something you wanted the others opinion on which wasn’t as often as you would expect. You and Wonwoo would make dinner together then snuggle for the remainder of the night till it was time for bed.

Your weekends were more on the unpredictable side. You tried to sleep in more on your two days of rest but since Wonwoo was in Korea to stay, a lot of his friends came to look for him, whether to have a meal or to take him out for the day. A lot of the times he would politely decline unless it was one of the guys from the group then he’d go and do whatever but his friends also understood if he wanted to spend more time with you instead. You would watch movies, go on dates, he would even take you shopping once in a while but all that mattered to him was that you were happy.

All in all, life was more or less perfect.

The two of you walked hand in hand through the streets of Tokyo in early April, right when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. Wonwoo knew that you had always wanted to go to Japan during this time of year so he took his first opportunity and got it cleared by the board to sweep you away for a week on a surprise vacation.

“I cannot believe you pulled this off.” You said looking up at the cherry blossom petals dancing in the breeze.

“I’m Jeon Wonwoo, I can pull anything off” he said cheekily causing you to hit his arm lightly laughing.

”You are so-“ you started but Wonwoo cut you off by wrapping his arms around you.

“Handsome? Smart?”

“Full of it is more like it.” You shot back giggling as you settled under a cherry blossom tree.

Wonwoo wrapped his arms around you from behind as your hands rested on top of his. The two of you enjoyed the comfortable silence, watching people go about their business while children played at the nearby playground.

“You know...I did have a purpose for this trip though…” he muttered into your ear and you turned your head to look up at him with curiosity and noted that he looked slightly nervous.

“I want you to know that you mean the world to me…” he started and you gasped. This was not happening.

“And I want you to know that I love you with every inch of my being.” You were turned to fully faced him now as he continued his speech.

“Being with you this past year has been amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in life. Y/N, I love you with every inch of my being and I am so thankful for the clumsy idiot I call a best friend that he married someone as smart as yours which is what lead me to you.” He took a deep breath as he pulled out a ring box from his pocket.

“Y/N, under these cherry blossoms, join me on a new adventure. Will you marry me?”

You stared at Wonwoo in shock as he looked at you with hope and the next thing you knew, you were both on the ground with you crying.

“Yes! Yes a million times yes!”

Applause was heard throughout the park as Wonwoo helped you stand up and he slid the ring on your finger before pulling you into his arms and swinging you around.

When he put you down, he pointed you in a certain direction and there stood Lee Jihoon with a video camera in hand grinning like he just made a million bucks.

Shocked, you ran over to him and pulled him into a tight hug. You hadn’t seen him since your fathers funeral a few months before because he had to go abroad. His producing skills had become known internationally and artists were coming left and right to ask him for help.

“How did you know?!” You all but screamed as you heard Wonwoo chuckle behind you.

“That idiot had to ask for someone’s blessing before he could go through with this and to hell that Joshua be here instead of me.” Jihoon replied with a smirk and looked you over. “Plus, I got it all on video so you have something to look back on.”

You turned to look at Wonwoo. He knew that despite your past with Jihoon, you two were still incredibly close and it showed that. Jihoon and Joshua had spent a good amount of time comforting your mother when your father had passed away in a car accident while Wonwoo comforted you and for that, you were grateful for all the men in your life. Jihoon was like an unbreakable rock to you and Wonwoo respected that.

The three of you spent the rest of your trip sightseeing before flying back to Korea together. You and Wonwoo happy as can be but anticipating the announcement to your friends.

A few days later you sat at a cafe with Wonwoo along with Joshua and Hye-mi in the seats across from you giving you both confused looks.

“So is there a reason for this meeting?” Joshua asked slowly as he sipped his coffee.

“We wanted to give you guys your souvenirs from Japan.” You said with a smile as Hye-mi eyed you skeptically noticing a certain glow coming from you.

“...is that all..?” She asked slowly as you handed both her and Joshua gift bags.

Looking at the contents inside, Hye-mi couldn’t help but squeal while Joshua only looked at his gift in awe.

“No freaking way!!!” She squealed some more before standing up and engulfed you in a giant hug making you both erupt in giggles as Joshua stood up and engulfed Wonwoo in a giant man hug before turning around to join in on yours and Hye-mis group hug.

Wonwoo could only watch you three act like fools as patrons of the cafe watched confused.

“So you two agree?” he asked once you calmed down and Hye-mi and Joshua nodded enthusiastically.

“Are you sure you don’t want Mingyu standing beside you?” Joshua asked concerned knowing the deep friendship between the two middle school friends.

Wonwoo shook his head with a grin, “I already cleared it with him when I told him I was planning on proposing. He thinks it’ll be bad luck if he walks the aisle with Hye-mi a second time.”

Joshua nodded his head in understanding before his grin matched Wonwoo’s, “Then I would be more than honored to be your Best Man.”

“Wait, how did my husband keep that from me?!” Hye-mi almost shrieked and you explained that Mingyu had known for ages that he was going to propose. He just had no idea when. That seemed to calm her down but it was Joshua’s turn to flare up when Wonwoo asked if they wanted to see the engagement video that Jihoon shot.

“EXCUSE ME?! YOUR BEST MAN WASN’T PRESENT AT THE PROPOSAL BUT YOUR FIANCES EX WAS?!”

That statement definitely got looks from the other cafe patrons.

Wedding planning was harder than you anticipated and you were wondering how you pulled it off with Hye-mi’s wedding but you knew that with the support of Wonwoo you could get through anything.

Your wedding party was slightly smaller and only consisted of Hye-mi and Jisoo while Wonwoo had Joshua and Mingyu. You both wanted to keep it small and simple and were thankful that all your friends were understanding about the matter.

The two girls were a big help when it came to dress shopping and all the decorative details. The spare bedroom in your apartment had once again turned into the bridal suite. Wonwoo was not allowed in there AT ALL and you made sure to keep the key to the room on you at all times.

Outside of that, he was a huge help with the wedding planning. He helped pick the venue, the food and of course the cake but he also ensured that it was the wedding YOU wanted.

A week before the wedding, the two of you were in bed discussing final details and that was when Wonwoo asked.

“Who’s walking you down the aisle?”

Thinking for a moment you smiled, “Believe it not, my mom asked Jihoon if he would do the honor”

“Really? So Jihoon’s giving you away?” Wonwoo asked sitting up almost immediately and you nodded your head in confirmation. He then let out a breath

“That means he’s actually giving you to me then.” He went back to lying down, “Interesting.” a grin permanently on his face. His thoughts going back to your hidden past relationship. He knew he literally had nothing to worry about anymore.

In the beginning, Jihoon’s over protectiveness made it hard to court you properly but as time went by, Jihoon backed off slowly. Who knew that someone could do so much even overseas? It wasn’t until Wonwoo took a “business trip” to Los Angeles to confront Jihoon stating that he had every intention on marrying you and was formally asking for his blessing.

Jihoon couldn’t say no after that and the whole engagement plan was set up.

The night before your wedding, Joshua and Mingyu came and kidnapped Wonwoo from your apartment, going as far as putting a sack over his head and dragging him out of the house with a rope. It was definitely a sight to see considering how it took all of Joshua and Mingyu’s strength to get him out of the house. That left you, Hye-mi and Jisoo cracking up on the floor for several minutes till one of you recovered and managed to bring the other two girls back to reality.

You felt extremely blessed to have these two girls in your life. Sure you had Jennie, Rose and the others but Jisoo and Hye-mi would always have a special place in your heart. Like sisters in a sense.

The three of you spent the whole night talking about how in time it was going to be Jisoo’s turn and Hye-mi made a statement that she knew Jeonghan already had a ring and by the end of the night, Jisoo already had her ideal wedding planned in her head.

The next day, everyone was up bright and early for your big day. Like Hye-mi’s wedding day, Wonwoo sent you roses but this time, they were white and there was only a short note.

My love,

I’ll see you at the end of the aisle. I’ll be the handsome guy in the suit ;) I would say more but this is Joshua writing the note for Wonwoo and he’s talking too fast. I think he’s nervous but I’m sure he’ll be better once he sees you.

p.s. Tell Hye-mi I’m sorry I broke one of her vases while we tried to drag Wonwoo into the apartment with the sack over his head.

You laughed as you read the note before showing Hye-mi and Jisoo who both burst into giggles.

An hour later, you were all primped up and Jihoon showed up in a suit. (He would only wear one for you as he only wore a dress shirt to Mingyu and Hye-mis). He looked at you in awe and muttered to himself.

“Jeon Wonwoo is one damn lucky guy.”

Later at the ceremony, everything had gone as smooth as you had wanted it to go. Jihoon had given you away while your mother sat on the side with tears in her eyes, happy that her daughter finally found a man willing to take care of her.

As you walked down the aisle, many found it odd that someone so young was escorting you down the aisle and not your mother but it was explained in the program that Jihoon had become a dear friend of the family and it was your fathers wish that if he weren’t able to walk you down the aisle, that Jihoon would do so.

Wonwoo only had eyes for you as you walked down the aisle and to him, you were the only person next to him in the room. It wasn’t until Jihoon had come forward and flicked the groom in the head that he was brought back to reality causing everyone in the room to laugh while Joshua and Mingyu shook their heads.

Everyone was surprised to see him cry as he read his vows and promised that no matter what, he would make you the happiest woman until his last breath. The moment the ordinator said those five words. Yes THOSE five words.

“You may kiss the bride.”

Wonwoo swept you up in his arms and gave you the sweetest kiss you had ever received while Joshua and Mingyu as well as the rest of his friends cat called causing you to pull away while red in the face.

The reception was held in a hotel that SVT Corp. had offered to pay for. Since joining the team, Wonwoo had helped the company grow to extreme lengths and they wanted to thank him in anyway possible.

Various wedding games were played and your first dance was to a song Jihoon had composed specifically for the two of you.

As you danced in your husbands arms, you looked around the room. The reception was alot smaller than Hye-mi’s had been but it was filled with only those who were important to you outside of those you HAD to invite because of family.

Wonwoo noticed you were spacing out and gently kissed your forehead.

“Penny for your thoughts?”

You smiled looking up at him before your lips met in a sweet kiss.

“I love you” you whispered as he returned the sentiment.

Everyone around you smiled knowing that you had found your true happiness and knew that it was only the beginning.

You and Wonwoo would go through many hardships in life but ultimately knew that as long as you had one another, you would be able to get through anything.
