Hi demigod and half-blood homies! It's Praetor Rose here with Hot Take Discussions, where every Wednesday a new Riordanverse Hot Topic will be released. Give your thoughts in the comments or through reblogs!
Just because this is your PJO opinions doesn't mean there aren't any rules, even Chiron has his limits. You will be expected to abide said rules at all times.
Keep it kind. These topics don't have objectively correct answers, and the people who oppose your opinion likely can't be budged on theirs, but you can explain to them why you think yours is the best. Personal attacks and aggressive behavior towards your fellow demigods will not be tolerated. If you feel like you're being targeted by unkind behavior, please Iris Message the moderators by tagging @half-blood-community
No racism/misogyny/homophobia/ableism/etc. will be tolerated. This falls under the umbrella of "keep it kind," but is worth reiterating. None of the debate topics are related to human rights issues per se, but some may be perceived as adjacent to these issues, so it's important to keep things respectful. Therefore, responses such as "I don't like Character A because they are LGBT-identifying" or "I don't like Actor B playing Character C because that's not how they look in the books" are unacceptable, as they do not facilitate a safe space for debate. The Riordanverse is a place that was made to represent and empower those belonging to minority groups, not to put them down. Remember, someone's identity is never debatable!
Explain your opinions! You're not being graded on this, but it's helpful to everyone if you explain why your answer is what it is. That way, it leaves an open-ended space for someone to reply to you. Yes, and... Afraid of confrontation? Maybe you're not ready to directly disagree with someone just yet, but did you know that agreeing with someone is always a viable option in a debate? Let's say someone says, "Yes, The Lightning Thief is a great book because it has the original trio in it" and you agree with that statement. What you can do is expand upon that idea by replying to that person. Say something along the lines of "I agree with you because it has platonic Percabeth and I love the way their friendship develops. My favorite part is when..." Bam. You just participated.
Respond to someone! Get the conversation started by responding directly to someone else's comment instead of just shouting into a void. Remember, you can agree or disagree with that person!
Don't be afraid to ask follow-up questions! Maybe someone responded to the prompt with "I don't like The Lightning Thief because I don't like Grover." That's a hot take. Ask them why they don't like Grover, and explain why you do.
Break the ice! So, you're early. Nobody has responded to the prompt yet. Maybe everyone else is just as nervous as you are, but you have the power here to steer the conversation in whatever direction you want! To reference our ongoing example, now you can explain what you did or didn't like about The Lightning Thief. Want to talk about how much you like Grover? Want to talk about how Procrustes is actually a good character and how much you love waterbeds? The floor is yours!
Start a new thread. Okay, so maybe the first person who replied wants to talk about Crusty and how awesome his waterbeds are, and that's just not your cup of tea. Maybe you're really excited to talk about Nancy Bobofit and how she was robbed of the chance to develop as a character. Start a new comment thread and invite people to reply!
Tag your friends! Maybe the conversation is really dry and a tumbleweed just flew across the comment section, but you know someone who would really love to talk about Crusty and his waterbeds with you. Let them know you're thinking of them by tagging them!
Play devil's advocate. Maybe the debate isn't really a debate, and it's just a bunch of people shouting into a void about how great The Lightning Thief is. You're craving a little spice. Sure, you might agree with them, but if you really want to see some debate, think of what a naysayer might say. Try commenting something like, "While I agree with the majority's opinion, it might be interesting to consider that someone might not like the expository nature of the book" or "I saw someone on Tumblr say they didn't like The Lightning Thief because they hate waterbeds. What do you guys think about that?"

Fatoni war mit seiner Wunderbare Welttournee in Stuttgart
Am Donnerstag Abend brachte Fatoni seine Wunderbare Welttournee in die Halle des Im Wizemann nach Stuttgart.
Als Support hatte sich Fatoni eigentlich den Rapper Shogoon eingeladen. Dieser war aber krank und spontan war dann Mauli eingesprungen. Der war schon beim letzten Mal mit dabei als Fatoni mit seiner Andorra Tour 2019 im Jugendhaus, Hallschlag auftrat.
Alleine für die Tatsache, dass er ziemlich kurzfristig eingesprungen war, feierte ihn das Stuttgarter Publikum. Die Songs, die Mauli präsentierte waren laut ihm auch eher sowas wie Disney Soundtracks auf Autotune an denen er sich gerade probiert. Dennoch gab es zum Beispiel mit dem Song Licht auch einen älteren Song zu hören, welcher er seiner Freundin widmete.

Die Bühne ganz passend zum Album gestaltet mit jeder Menge verrückter Gadgets. Von Popcornmaschine bis zur Seifenblasenmaschine. Zunächst betraten DJ V.Raeter und der Drummer Tilman, den wir erst vor kurzem bei Disarstar an den Drums sahen die Bühne. Fatoni kam auf die Bühne und schnappte sich direkt seine portable Seifenblasenmaschine und verströmte erstmal eine Runde Seifenblasen ins Publikum bevor er mit Fröhlich vom neuen Album Wunderbare Welt in sein Set startete.

Es ging gefühlt Schlag auf Schlag als er Das ist alles Kunst raushaute und dann natürlich Homie und Local Dexter die Bühne betrat. Auch wie beim letzten Mal und die Stimmung stieg dadurch enorm. Ein Hit und alle in der Halle waren nun am Start und hoben die obligatorischen Hip Hop Arme in die Luft. Links, rechts oder Nein Nein Nein Nein Nein Nein und dann nur mit Gitarre Danke Dass Du Mich Verlassen Hast sowie Lassensiemichkünstlerichbindurch bei dem er sich an einer Ukulele versuchte.

Das Publikum wie Fatoni selbst feststellte, war auf jeden Fall überwiegen über 30 Jahre alt und dementsprechend auf der selben Wellenlänge wie er selbst. Als Schmankerl des Abends gab es eine Runde Popcorn für alle zum teilen und auch weniger erfolgreich mit der Popcorn Pistole. Zu Mein junges Ich, gab Fatoni noch ein bisschen Wonderwall von Oasis zum Besten.
Und dann ging die Party weiter mit exorbitanten Moshpits zu 7eleven oder dann Burj Khalifa bei dem Mauli und auch nochmal Dexter auf die Bühne kamen.

Zur Zugabe hatte sich Fatoni in einen weinroten Anzug geschmissen und performte irgendwie passend Mit Dem Taxi In Die Therapie. Der krönende Abschluss gab es dann mit dem Track Feeling, bei welchem auch nochmal alle Gäste auf die Bühne kamen und zusammen mit dem Wizemann eine große Party feierten. Eigentlich geht Fatoni fast als Stuttgarter durch soviel Zeit wie er hier schon mit Dexter und Co. verbrachte. Vielleicht hat er auch deshalb so eine stabile Fanbase, die ihm an diesem Abend wohl eines seiner liebsten Konzerte bescherte.

Tour De Tomatoes. Harvest with in my cologne , suburbs, ( Germany/ Rhineland) studio garden. Thanks to my Homie Alexander ( Oldschool Graffwriter from Mönchengladbach/ first generation), from @biojungpflanzen I harvested the whole Summer 2022, almost everyday tomatoes. Seeing the process from artist point of view, I realized why Homegrowing, gathering, harvesting, makes people happy. Forms, colours, ritual, context, haptics, conditioning, smells, etc. The metal drawing table, planned, welded, constructed, build my father during his studies with in the 1950s. The plastic sieve & the 1950s garden chair, are from my grandparents. The paintings with in the picture are all work in progess, mid stage complexity grade/ level. The hoodie Iam wearing is from primark @primark , bought in @stadt_muenster . The paintings are painted with @molotowheadquarters, aswell as dispersions paint I painted although my wall paintings with in the 2000er years, donated by neighbors supporting me, as well from my Homie, and former student/ pupil/ protégée @arno.beck. More “Proof” that Solas’ artifacts have a hidden purpose.
In Solas’ quest ‘Measuring the Veil’, Solas tasks the Inquisitor with finding and activating ancient Elvhen artifacts around Thedas in order to strengthen the Veil. Now that we know his true identity, many have wondered if he was telling the truth about these artifacts. They’re some form of technology that /does/ interact with the Veil by “measuring” it and are placed in notably important areas or where the Veil is weak. But the one artifact I always wrote off, was the Hinterlands artifact you find when interacting with Mihris.
Now, if you’re like me and you’ve never read any of Dragon Age material, this was a cool little interaction that players would write off as a cool way to get that power amulet for Solas. However, it turns out Mihris is kind of super duper important! Funny that.
Mihris was one of the Dalish who’s alliance with Imshael, led to Michel De Chevin’s defeat. Mihris actually hosted Imshael for a time, before releasing him at Duke Gaspard’s request. She is aware the Eluvians exist and her clan was in control of them before Briala or Solas later. Briala and crew defeat Mihris and crew and take control of the Eluvians. Mihris makes a sort of deal with Briala that, if the Dalish finally make an effort to support City Elves they can join forces/she’ll give them control of the Eluvians. Mihris agrees and says she’ll let the homies know.
So, when we see Mihris in game, she is on her quest to contact the various clans and happens to be looking for the same Elvhen artifact, which she confirms is meant to measure the Veil. She even theorizes that these trifecta can help predict where Rifts are meant to appear. You can only get her true backstory if your Inquisitor is an elf, if not and you ask why she’s there, she’ll lie and Solas will call her out on it. (You can only see her when Solas is in your party)
So, has Mihris finally taken up the altruistic path? Perhaps we’ll see in a later game, or book….probably a book :)

And Rafael pulled you laughing back out into the premier event, happy to be riding the waves with him.
