seems to be a big fan of lifetime/hallmark movies, so i just imagine her setting up a movie night! making popcorn and bringing out the warmest blankets to make sure you stay cozy while watching the movie.
she also just seems like the type to go all out for any holiday! like having a small easter egg hunt at easter, or dressing you up in cute matching costumes at halloween! she'd definitely be the type to get personalized stockings with your name on them for christmas, and do adorable little christmas crafts.
Jonah;
small hc that after the golden globes party, jonah was just so excited to show kelly all of the old commercials she hadn't seen so he could rant about them and so that she would 'be in the know'.
also just the quote, "i never yell. even when i'm mad. i just push it down really deep, and then sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night panicked and sweaty for no reason. " it just seems like something that would cause him to regress. i like to think it was something that happened while he was still with kelly (since he said it after they had broken up), and she helped calm him down afterwards. just like she'd do after a nightmare.

I'd say it's more agere adjacent than anything explicitly mentioned, but I really really love the idea of Kelly jumping to calm Jonah down like "No questions asked, you're getting a kissy on the head. Ok, goodnight."

Kelly turned over in bed, throwing her arm over her face. What time was it?! And why was she awake again?? She tried to glance at her alarm clock, only to realize it wasn't there. Moreover, she wasn't in her own bed, or her own home for that matter. She'd been spending the night with Jonah more often than not recently. She almost let herself drift back to sleep when she remembered why she'd been woken up in the first place.
She propped herself up to look at her partner through sleepy eyes.
Kelly startled slightly when she saw the state he was in. Sitting upright against the headboard, staring at the opposite wall, hardly breathing. He looked like he'd seen a ghost. His blankets had been kicked far from where they should be, and Kelly could see him trembling even in the dark.
“Jonah..?” Kelly whispered, not wanting to scare her boyfriend. “Did you have a nightmare, what's wrong?” Jonah physically flinched when she spoke up, which sent a pang of something unpleasant straight to Kelly's stomach.
“I'm-good. No nightmare. I'm fine, I'm good I'm-” Jonah's hasty response caught in his throat and he brought his hands up to hide his face. He fell silent again, and all Kelly could hear was his ragged breathing. She tentatively placed a hand on his back, like her own mother had done when she'd had a bad dream as a kid. She felt her boyfriend sob silently in response.
“Whatever it was, um, you're safe here? Yeah?” The sleepy fog in Kelly's brain was steadily lifting as she tried to understand the situation. She moved her hand in slow circles against Jonah’s back in an attempt to comfort him. He wiped his eyes with the back of his hands and turned to look at her, still teary. “S’ too much, sometimes,” he croaked, his voice hoarse and small, “..everything.”
Kelly nodded. She understood. “Oh, I know,” she cooed, “you've been dealing with so much lately. Work's been crazy and with trying to find a place to live and-”, she stopped in her tracks. “C’mere.”
Jonah readily let himself be pulled into her arms, immediately tucking his face against her neck. Kelly noticed how tense he felt, and instinctively began to rock slightly from side to side. One of her hands found purchase in his hair, her baby blue manicured nails drawing soothing circles across his scalp. She pressed a kiss to the side of his head. “You don't have to think about any of that now.” She whispered.
They stayed like that for a while as Jonah's racing heartbeat slowed down, his muscles relaxed bit by bit - certainly aided by Kelly's expert comfort. Until, eventually, he just felt like a pile of sleepy goop in her embrace, instead of an anxious mess.
“Thanks”, he mumbled against her, feeling his cheeks heat up with the embarrassment of the whole situation. He felt so stupid and immature, like he should have rejected the comfort she offered and just…dealt with it. Like he always did.
Jonah shifted to sit beside Kelly, vehemently avoiding eye contact. “You should go back to sleep now. Sorry- sorry I woke you up.”
Kelly wasn't having that. She turned Jonah's face up with a gentle touch of her hand to make sure he was listening. “You don't have to go through everything by yourself, Pumpkin.” Kelly mentally kicked herself for letting the sillu pet name slip, but Jonah didn't seem to mind. He only responded with a tight-lipped nod, not wanting to cry again. She was just so sweet. Kelly gave a small smile before settling back down into her pillow. She held the corner of her blanket up, and Jonah accepted the invitation, crawling underneath and letting Kelly pull him close again.
…maybe it wasn't so bad to be fussed over.

Store Trek: Halloween to Holiday
Well, I went ahead and did it. I already posted the AO3 listing for it, but just in case you don't do the AO3 thing, here is the first chapter in all its glory. My original document, and what I posted on AO3, used left and right alignments to differentiate who was texting, but I don't know how to do that on Tumblr, so in this post I just labeled each text or group of texts. Summary:
It's Halloween. You know what that means?
TIME TO PUT UP THE WINTER HOLIDAY DECORATIONS!
That's retail for you, dudes. Carol Freeman, the manager of Storefleet #2380, texts her daughter Beckett Mariner to come in for an overnight shift. Corporate wants those holiday decorations up YESTERDAY. Seriously, they didn't even want to wait until November. Beta shift is their only hope.
This is the beginning of Store Trek.

Okay, this is my first attempt at an AU. They say write what you know, and I know retail, and I love the show Superstore, so why not use some of its DNA to alter Star Trek Lower Decks according to my whims? Let's see how long I keep this series going. I'll do my best!
This is in the form of a text chain, and I tried to format it accordingly. I hope it comes through okay.

Chapter 1: Freeman gathers Beta Shift for the Overnighter
[The text chain between Beckett Mariner (Department Lead) and Carol Freeman (store manager of Storefleet #2380), began 8:13 PM on 10/31/20XX, retrieved from Mariner's phone]
Contact: Mom-Ager
Freeman:
Can you come in for an overnight shift
tonight?
Mariner:
Ooh, sorry, can’t. Out of town.
Freeman:
I saw your Instagram post. You’re at
Jennifer’s Halloween party. She lives
two blocks from the store.
Mariner:
Fine. Ooh, sorry, can’t. Don't want to.
Freeman:
Beckett.
Let me be clear.
You’re coming in for an overnight shift
tonight.
Mariner:
What could we possibly be doing that
needs to be done tonight?
Freeman:
The holiday decorations need to be
put out.
Mariner:
Are you freaking serious? It’s not
even November yet.
Freeman:
But it will become November during
your shift. Hence why you’re putting
out the decorations.
Mariner:
See, this is why I hate the holiday
season.
No time to breathe.
You should be able to enter a turkey
coma on Thanksgiving, THEN wake up
to the holiday crap.
Freeman:
Look, I’m not saying I disagree with
the spirit of what you’re saying. It’s
not up to me. This is from Corporate.
Mariner:
Can’t someone else do it?
Freeman:
Everyone else who isn’t already coming
in is at Halloween parties.
Mariner:
I’M at a Halloween party!
Freeman:
MARINER
You’re a Department Lead now. That
means more responsibility. Sometimes,
you’re going to have to leave the party
early like an adult.
Mariner:
UGH
FINE
But I’m gonna be wearing my costume
Freeman:
I couldn’t care less what you wear. Shift
starts at 11. You’ll have Boimler, Tendi,
Rutherford, and T'Lyn with you.
Mariner:
You better be bringing us donuts when
you open the store tomorrow. Proper
bribery is the least you could do.
Freeman:
We’ll see. You look great in your costume,
by the way. Just like Uhura.
Mariner:
Shut up, I know it.

You made it to the end! I'm so proud of you.
I originally wrote Mariner's text grammar as much looser, as I think her text style would actually be. She has no time for capitalization and punctuation! She's too busy kicking ass and secretly hanging around the warp core. Even though that makes sense, I changed my mind and just made everything grammatically correct, for the most part. It's just how I prefer it. If you want to imagine a few emojis thrown in there, I won't stop you.
A note for the future: I am not completely sure how I'm going to be handling aliens or other normal Trek stuff. Part of me WANTS to just have a bunch of aliens in an otherwise normal setting. Maybe that's what will happen. We'll see. I am leaning towards this because I really want to have a convenience store called FerengiMart, and I'd rather have it staffed with actual Ferengi.

[caregiver hcs for superstore]
dina;
caregiver
definitely feel like dina could be a great caregiver!
not immediately of course because she's more knowledgeable on taking care of real babies, but it wouldn't be too hard for her to adapt.
it would definitely take a bit for her to open up though, and be a bit softer.
has tons of stories
she has so many cool and crazy stories to tell! she'll usually try her best to filter the stories she tells as well.
if she's run out of stories, she'll usually try to make one up before turning to children's books.
has so many animal facts
most of them are regarding birds, and she can tell you hundreds of facts about birds alone.
definitely would watch animal planet (wouldn't like the zoo) with you and talk about any fact she could think of about whichever animal is on screen.
great at lullabies
she has such a nice voice! although she's not very knowledgeable about popular or new music, she's much more than happy to sing you a song she's familiar with.
(and definitely not the same one she sings to her birds)
security knowledge
I think she would be so excited to have someone to explain security and surveillance stuff to (because she was so excited to talk to bo about it)!
she'd love to go on and on about surveillance cameras, security measures, etc..
garrett;
babysitter
the other half to dina. if she's ever too busy to watch you, she feels comfortable leaving you with garrett.
he's fun to hang out with and is able to keep you entertained the whole time.
loves playing games
he loves playing video games, and would be more than happy to teach you how to play too, so you can play them together. or just letting you watch if you're too small.
is also a fan of board games/card games! simple games like checkers or go fish for younger regressors or something more complicated like monopoly for older ones.
maybe not the best influence
because he loves to make you laugh and joke around, sometimes he can get a little carried away with the jokes he makes.
he has been known to tease glenn or jonah quite a bit, and can be pretty encouraging if you follow his lead. its gotten him in a bit of "trouble" with them before, but they're usually pretty quick to forgive him and you.
sensory videos
he just seems like the type to leave you looking at those sensory videos while he goes off to get a snack really quick.
he's never gone for too long, and it always seems to work. and of course he'd bring you a snack back too!
glenn & jerusha;
caregivers
because the two of them have had so much experience taking care of children, it'd be so easy for them to look after you.
they have experience taking care of children of all ages, so they'd certainly be super prepared for however old you are.
needlepoint
with jerusha's love of needlepoint, there's no doubt you wouldn't leave without an embroidered scarf or hat with whatever cute animal picked out for you.
sometimes she'll even let you pick the animal out!
loves to make you happy
glenn is willing to do anything to make you smile!
whether it's doing silly voices with puppets, impressions, or doing funny dances, he'll do his best to get a laugh out of you! sometimes he even sings a few songs.
healthy snacks
jerusha loves making healthy food and snacks for you to eat! she loves to cut them into cute shapes and include them in lovely lunches she makes for you.
glenn always makes sure to sneak you a bit more juice too, when jerusha's not looking!

handmade toys and food
jerusha makes all of rose's toys and food from scratch, so why wouldn't she do the same for you?
she'd do her best to make the yummiest snacks she can make! plates of lovingly cut pieces of fruit that look like flowers, or a smiley face.
and I'm not sure what she'd be capable of toy making wise, but I think she'd be able to make something like rattles, or maybe making clothes for a stuffed animal of yours? maybe throw a tiny personalized scarf or beanie onto your stuffed animal?
holiday fun!
glenn was going all out for the all-iday party, so just imagine how fun it would be during actual holidays!
we already know about the double chocolate hot chocolate, and how dedicated he is to finding the perfect santa.
he and jerusha are absolutely the type of people to send out christmas cards every year, and just imagine what sort of cute or funny outfits/costume they'd put you in.
or having big egg hunts for easter! and cute costumes for halloween, or fun barbeques for 4th of july. and I feel like he could definitely take a few ideas from the all-iday party.
cheyenne and bo;
flips
I honestly think the two of them are flips, with bo having more of a regressor lean than cheyenne.
they try their best to take care of each other, and it isn't as stressful after having harmonica.
dino mac and cheese
i can't remember what episode, but cheyenne says she's gonna get bo some dinosaur mac and cheese because, "he's really into science right now."
it just screams little bo to me.
puppy parties
with how many dogs they have, I imagine they could have fun puppy parties. watching movies with them, making snacks, or going to the park with them.

🌟 I'm watching super store right now and I love Cheyenne so much, there's a scene where they're all eating and everyone else has like a meal and she just has a big candy cane and an apple juice box, then later while talking in a meeting she just casually has a huge pink heart shaped lollipop that she's eating
🌟 she's just so sweet and she always dresses so cute, I think Mateo would be her caregiver because he takes such good care of her, and I think Boe wouldn't mind at all he loves her
🌟 I think he'd love being around her even when she's regressed and he'd try really hard to be what she needed, but in all honesty i don't think he'd be that good of a cg. He's still an amazing husband and stuff, but he's not great at literally taking care of another person and making sure she's safe, that's where Matteo comes in though
