What do you think about Bowsario? Just curious
i think it's super cute! I like that it subverts the hero-villain-damsel cliche and brings about a lot of fanfic potential, like Bowser always kidnapping Peach and people always think it's cause he loves her but actually it's cause Bowser has the biggest crush on Mario and is doing anything to get his attention. Bowser trying to marry Peach in Mario Oddessy? He was just trying to make Mario jealous. They're energies match in a lot of ways and it might be a fun dynamic to learn Mario is more inwardly judgemental while Bowser is outwardly judgemental, so Mario might think the same thing Bowser says. And the height difference that people crave in Bowuigi is like doubly so in Bowsario
Also brings about a lot of potential angst because of the history there and you could have like a self-imposed Romeo and Juliet dynamic

"What if Seymour discovered different sentient plants than Twoey?": An AU dump courtesy of my Notesapp:
Piranha plant (Mario series):
Since it's not trying to hide it's sentience like Audrey 2 initially was, Seymour would probably recognize it as immediately dangerous and probably not bring it back to the shop (then again, these things can behave like normal plants, as shown in Super Mario Oddessy where Peach has a bouquet of them and they don't try to bite her)

Flowey (Undertale):
Flowey would never care to eat anyone, but he does still want to kill people just because he's bored and he can reset the timeline so life and death wouldn't really matter to Flowey anyway. I imagine he still would have the goal of absorbing 7 human souls in order to turn back into Asriel, but I don't know how well that would actually work without being capable of eating them.

Cow Plant (the sims):
Not really all that different from twoey, the only real differences would be that it can't talk and just moos and makes gross tounge noises, and also that the deaths caused by these things probably won't reach the apocalyptic scale that the Audrey II's reach in the musical (so this AU would basically play out a little closer to the 1960 version than the musical). And as a bonus, Mushnik can also sell the Anti-Aging milk that Cow Plants produce when they eat people

Tama/Stray Cat (Jojo's Bizzarre Adventure):
This one would start with Orin accidentally-on-purpose running over a stray Prussian Blue cat with his motorcycle, and I guess because he just wants to traumatize some random kids outside of just dental work, he throws the cat's body into some random park and drives off. The next day, a gray flower with eyes, a mouth, petals shaped like cat ears, and whisker-like pistons that it uses to shoot air bubbles at its enemies. Seymour finds the cat plant and decides to take it home and names it Paw-drey (a joke Audrey greatly apprecieates :D). No faustian power bargains occur here but there were probably some people who got broken fingers from Paw-drey shooting air bubbles at them. And it kinda goes without saying that it would absolutely despise Orin for, you know, killing it. I also feel like it wouldn't be too happy with Mushnik either, no real reason tho.

The things from the Goosebumps episode "Stay Out Of The Basement":
In this AU Seymour isn't just a florist, but also a full-on botanist who makes Hybrid his own Hybrid plants. One day Mushnik has to leave town and leaves Audrey in charge while he's gone (also, for the sake of this AU, we'll say that Audrey and Seymour are already dating and Orin doesn't have anything to do with this) Audrey has been noticing her boyfriend has been acting wierd these past few weeks, he stopped calling her by the pet name they always call each other and he keeps insisting that nobody goes in the basement. Audrey decides to see why Seymour insists she stays out of the basement, only to discover that he's got leaves growing out of his hair and his bed is full of worms. Seymour locks the basement door, but Audrey breaks in with a crowbar and finds Seymour tied up among the plants with no leaves in his hair. He explains to her that he was experimenting on some Venus fly traps when he cut himself on the slide and somehow his own DNA merged with it and became a half plant, half human copy of him. The other Seymour shows up and Audrey is prepared to shoot one of them with weed killer but she doesn't know which one is the real Seymour, that is until, the real one calls her by the nickname and she kills the plant Seymour. It ends with the reveal that one of the plants Audrey pricked her finger on in the basement has merged with her DNA and became another plant copy.
TL;DR: the horror wouldn't be killing people to feed the plant, but instead, the plant commiting Identity Fraud

Venus Mcflytrap (Monster High):
I mean, she's basically a human but green and with the ability to make plants grow, so I imagine she and Seymour would be beasties (Pun sort of intended). I think it would be funny if the Original Audrey 2 still exists in this universe and Venus calls it Mom, bonus points, Seymour gets called Gramps as a result even though he's probably only 3 years older than her (we don't actually know his age and it kinda varies from production to production)

Honestly, I was talking to my brother and got another idea for a game. Especially after Princess Peach Showtime.
I'll preface this by saying PPS is the perfect game for girls and women imo. Female main character, outfit changes, aesthetic color scheme--everything about the game gave me nostalgia and it isn't even out! I'll be looking forward to playing it (if I have the money 😷) because it makes me actually feel like a female without the color pink as the only color or horrible gameplay attached to it.
But it's sad as hell that it takes so long for something like this to come out. I got Super Princess Peach a few years after it came out and as a little girl, that was the most enjoyment I got out of a game that didn't have hot male characters keeping my attention.
Obviously, the main issue is men game developers. I'm not gonna be all "video games are men's fantasies and bla bla" I don't care because all I want is for some games to be a woman's fantasy ☺
If I knew a female game developer, I would help her in a heartbeat to make a game that actually caters to what women look for in games. Men can keep Cammy being literally butt naked if I also can get Lee Chalon in more swimwear 😌.
I understand the sentiment of girl gamers and that if games didn't have "heterosexual man juice" sprayed all over it, things would be better for us; but it's not gonna change and I wouldn't want it to because I grew up with games that had big breasted women and useless damsels I had to save, and I love some of those games *cough*DMC*cough*. I just want there to be more on both ends of the spectrum.
So, honestly, that's my TED talk, but I at least wanted to show the kinds of ideas we could be getting alongside our usual games.

My first real idea is a collectathon for house items, clothes/outfits, and other accesories.
Imagine Mario Oddessy, but just with the clothes. Instead of collecting the moons, you'd collect various items of clothing you could dress your character up in. A sofa for the house you live in or an accessory to style an outfit with.
I think, just maybe, there's a correlation with Animal Crossing and The Sims being popular with a female audience.
Personally, I don't like the current climate of ignoring a woman's natural interest in fashion and things that look good. I get that it's a stereotype, but all stereotypes are based in reality.
It's bad that girls are being shunned away from wearing a pretty outfit just because that's seen as "girly", but guys are "cool" when they have a good fit and even get praised if they "break gender roles" [insert sigh here]. I even think about how much this would help trans girls to discovery themselves more.
And it doesn't have to be something stereotypically female either. I'd never wear a skirt or dress, but you best believe if a flowy jacket or cute sweater came my way, I'm wearing that shit and I'd love to play games that allowed it, if they weren't unplayable and unbearable.
I usually hate platformers, but I'd love one if my objective was to get clothes and other designing items for a house or my character.
Next Idea
Obviously, VNs are usually the games associated with women, but I'd enjoy one that had gameplay on the side. You know, scratch the itch that Obey me! just doesn't.
Obey Me! Is perfect having guys who are likable without forcing random female hate as "conflicts". However, there's nothing to the gameplay so I'm usually pretty bored after a while.
And even if there is some kind of gameplay, you usually are forced to be romantic and there's no platonic options. Like, I was reading a post by Hamilton Hour and a review said exactly how I feel, they said this:
A lot of the time, I feel like romance games often push you into pursuing a relationship with someone, and when you don’t, the character will get sad and then you feel awful about it.

Seriously, what is with games doing that? Why not give us more content in the game and make all three if you want. Like Stardew Valley, there's options to be an asshole, to be platonic and options to be weird/overtly romantic. It makes it interesting to replay the game and see different choices.
I got off track though, back to the VNs with no gameplay. I really mean for there to be more romance oriented VNs with male characters that have gameplay. Like, Phoenix Wright, Danganropa, or Professor Layton but with romance lol.
I say this because there's tons of dating sims where the primary objective is to date women and they're always super good. Again, if anyone needs help I'd be willing to work on creating a story. Just ask.
Next idea
This isn't really an idea, but just something I wanted to say.
I super want more fighting games with male options that don't look like they were made for no one to love. I just think it's so convenient that female characters who are made to be "unattractive" are still the prettiest things on the planet.
Also, has anyone ever noticed that male characters in fighting games that are attractive are always married or devoted to another? However, most women aren't. Like Mortal Kombat for example. Now, I don't play this franchise so I could be wrong, but I have seen it and try and keep with the latest releases.
And I just happened to notice that the human characters who are male are usually married or dating someone.
On the opposite end, females in Mortal Kombat are either widowed, single with someone who has just a crush on them, or so butch they don't care for romantic relationships.
You can't be more blatant than that.
Street Fighter takes the design approach to turn away women. Seriously, name one male character from SF who's traditionally attractive then name a female, I guarantee you, you'll run out of men.
Then there's Tekken, my favorite.
Tekken is my fav for that very reason. There's a wide range of characters who have no romantic involvement, but they look human and *gasp* they're attractive?? What kind of sorcery...

The last thing is more related to writing than an actual game idea.
You know how in Zelda you're saving... Zelda?
Well, why the hell isn't there a game where I'm saving Link (and no, the CDi games DO NOT count).
I mean in general, I'd love a game where you play as a heroine and you're saving a male character. Don't even get me started on the many ways that could work.
A god is wounded and it's up to her to save him
A prince is captured while on enemy lines, no one else is capable of infiltrating but her.
Needing a vessel, your childhood friend's body is snatched
Afflicted by a curse, she knows where to find the remedy
Like come on, is it that hard to make a male in need? No it's not, dudes are human too and sometimes they need help. Enough with this solo shit, if men could be alone than why the hell do they all want girlfriends or need wives make it make sense
All this is to say, female coders, developers, writers, we need ya'll 🗣🔊
And as I've said throughout this, I would not be opposed to helping someone create the story of a game they're developing.

I bought a few games for Christmas thanks to a gift card and a bonus from my boss. In Stars and Time is next on my list to play, but first I've been blasting through Bowsers Fury. Also got Trombone Champ and the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm trilogy set.
Everything has been really fun, but I am kinda weirded out by the three I've touched so far??? Trombone Champ has like. Comedy horror which is weird. Ultimate Ninja, the first one is like???? An open area where you do missions and walk around in the hidden leaf village? Which is different than I thought, idk, I just expected to be mortal combat but naruto. It is not that. IT'S ALSO REALLY HARD FOR NO REASON. Fun tho!
And then Bowsers Fury... it's different than any Mario game I've played? Open world that expands incrementally and changes when you aren't looking. Everything is cat themed with no explanation. Baby bowser is a stupidly helpful companion with levels of helpfulness (from none to a little to a lot). It's very different but arguably my favorite mario game to date so far? Super Mario Galaxy is still up there but this game beats Oddessy out of the water in terms of like. How fun it is to get around and find shines.
Anywho, I am so freaking stoked to start In Stars and Time because gosh, I have been watching this artist for literal years and I cannot WAIT to look at all their pretty beautiful art and have my heart smushed.

Oooooo!!! This is a fun one!!
5. Mario games. I love mario games! I've played both Galaxy games and oddessy, and they just have a special place in my heart! I like the classic level styles, but also the way all the different areas have more than one thing to do in them!! Super fun.
4. Stardew Valley. It's so fun!! I love all the different things you can choose to do! I like interacting with the characters and building up friendship, and foraging!! I love foraging!! And buying hats! And playing Junomo cart! Also a super fun game to gather all the collectable items in!
3. Hollowknight. I played so much Hollowknight, I have 80+ hours on my file. I loved exploring, and for some reason I just really connected with this game? Like at first the controls felt awkward but within a few sessions of playing it felt like second nature, and I just had this great feeling while playing the whole time.
2. Pokemon. I LOVE Pokemon, I'm a huge 100%er, and I love getting the full pokedex and catching everything. Two specific games would be Pokemon White 2, because that was the first game I ever played, so there's a huge amount of nostalgia in it, and Pokemon Scarlet, BECAUSE HOLY CRAP THAT STORYLINE? Like I don't think I've been as invested in the characters as I was playing Scarlet.
Undertale. Listen, I gotta yknow? I played it for the first time at the beginning of quarantine, and it had such an eye opener for me. I love it so strongly, and it had a big impact on who I am today.

I’m kinda upset about Nintendo because it’s such a mixed bag now, it goes from taking what fans can do with series while not allowing them to use what they steal, while making games that feel like they’re for fans that know what makes the series magical
They take advantage of not needing to put effort in order to get sales with the online membership, emulators, even the Mario collection but they also give/allow content for fans of the series they love like Metroid dread, breath of the wild, Mario oddessy, etc etc and idk how to feel ab it besides to just keep consuming the content and enjoying being a fan even if I don’t agree with what they do sometimes
They’re so protective about everything and constantly want to spread the word while taking down videos with even just footage of their games, and taking down music that they won’t even allow us to listen to, taking away melee tournaments because passionate fans created a way to allow them to still continue due to Covid, they abuse their copyright and power but also make genuine good content and it’s kinda hard to decide how I feel part of me wants to be mad and not support the company but the other wants to enjoy the content anyway because I’m super interested in it and it makes me happy, just wanted to share my thoughts and maybe hear whoever sees this thoughts ab this as well

Hey!! I did want to note in the video that they were passive aggressive in their speech as well but I didn’t know if I should include tone indicators or if adding stuff like that would ruin the joke or be overly descriptive if you get what I mean? I’m probably overthinking it and will probably add tone indicators or figure out a way to describe that they’re being sarcastic I guess? If anyone has any tips feel free to let me know I’m 100% still feeling this out.
Like for example, when the person says ‘can you get more canon?’ Or ‘so I’ve done extensive research’ etc were supposed to be sarcasm but I know there are people who rely on tone indicators so I’ll have to see if maybe I can include (/s) or “they sarcastically said x” for example to spruce it up? I’m probably also answering my own questions, whoops.
