For the Good Omens ask game: 3, 9, 14, 23! :)
Thanks!
have you created any fanart or fanfiction, or really any content for the fandom?
Yes, I’ve written some fics! They’re over on my ao3
have you seen any other work by david tennant and/or michael sheen?
I’ve seen plenty with David Tennant… Doctor Who and Casanova are the main ones that come to mind. The Lazarus Experiment was the first dw episode I ever watched. Michael Sheen not so much, but I did see him in Wilde and in that weird Valentines day comedy thing with Michael Bolton. (I watched it in Amsterdam with my sisters after smoking a joint and I remember thinking “is this film really weird or is it the weed” is was the film.) I also have this memory of my brother pointing him out in something but for the life of me I can’t remember what it was.
What is your favorite good omens-coded song?
This Postmodern Jukebox cover. Because it’s a non-Queen song that’s been Queen-ified, y’see. In terms of Aziracrow songs I also like Never Tear us Apart by INXS and Melt With You by Modern English.
what's a good omens headcanon that you considered canon?
They fuck nasty but like in a weird supernatural way. Like there’s accidental body-swapping going on and all kinds of stuff.
Good Omens ask game

Nice Ask Week! I have 2 questions for you. First, what is your favorite episode of 911 Lone Star and why?
Second, you get 2 free front row tickets to see the band/artist of your choice. The only catch is that you have to give the second ticket to a Lone Star character. Which character are you taking with you to the concert and who are you going to see?
Hi! I ended up going through four days of family issues, but mainly needed to consider my answers. So, I’m sorry I took a bit to respond! I’m not quite as familiar with the characters and their personalities as I’d like to be but I’m always interested in hearing the headcanons the fandom comes up with for the 126.
Favorite episode… hm. I haven’t narrowed it down to just one yet, but I do have let’s say one per season. Season 1, I can def confirm is 1x05 (highlights were TK and Mateo victory roasting/ dancing, the good parts of Paul’s bowling date, and the hot loads of bull stuff. Poor Judd 😅). Season 2 was 2x14 for the probie’s moment— if you know you know (but I gotta say Billy got more shat-on than he deserved at the end). Underrated, I know— Season 3 is a little more conventional for me with 3x15. (I always find myself spluttering and half-laughing-half-sympathizing at and with Carlos’ lizard hell and TK being like “tfw I be more in over my head than I thought I was”). For Season 4, it’s easy and hard for the roller coaster it was (both good and bad ways) because of the mixed bag of story arcs… but I would probably say 4x14. For the understandable shortcomings of the Kendra arc, I loved the Strickland Sense (tm?) taking point and Gabriel being the voice of reason.
As for bands… god tbh I’m generally go-with-the-flow on live bands/ artists since I haven’t gone to see many concerts. Plus, I can be better at adapting in groups than really speaking up and contributing. Besides, some of the ones I can think of (Postmodern Jukebox, Jake Shimabukuro, maybe the odd tribute concert or indie artist/ band) are kinda boring for the 126 characters. (But I was pleasantly surprised to hear Iz Kamakawiwo’ole! On-brand and Hawai’i touch— mahalo for the shoutout, sound/ production crew!)

Septic music tastes
Henrik enjoys smooth jazz. He likes sipping a coffee and watching the rain outside. (Yes Anti has shown her 'The Fragrance Of Dark Coffee' from ace attorney. She loves it.) When she needs to focus she enjoys listening to classical music.
JJ he enjoys listening to the songs of his time. Though he's slowly branching out across the music timeline. He has decided he enjoys '30s and '60s music too. He likes experiencing 'new' music by listening to covers by the postmodern jukebox.
Chase, he does not get to choose what he listens to. His kids do. This man is tortured by baby shark and kidz bop. (If he could choose he would put on stuff like Queen, David Bowie, etc). He can be caught singing along to songs from movies his kids watched.
Marvin enjoys listening to the kind of music you'd hear in a music studio. Slow, calming. Perfect for doing magic. Though on party nights he seems to be able to sing along to most japanese pop songs (or atleast the ones they choose at karaoke night)
Anti enjoys energetic rock or power metal or really anything that makes them feel ready to bounce around for hours and climb up walls. When they work out or have to do a task they listen to either the Doom soundtrack or the God Of War Ragnarok soundtrack. When it's out hiking with the rest it'll often sing old norse songs, gaelic songs and one flemish song it learned.
Jackie listens to anything that's energetic but prefers 80's work out music (think eye-of-the-tiger). When he thinks about his past life he listens to his old theme song. When hiking he sings with Anti. Especially the flemish song.
Robbie likes musicals. Bite loves the Beetlejuice musical since bite sees biteself in it. Though guts cant sing words, guts is very good at making musical noises and often makes up a whole extra instrumental part.

While I'm on my dieselpunk and decopunk kick I'm thinking about a bunch of stuff at the enthusiast level since it's so hard to have large events currently. So here are some thoughts on how to further enjoy the genre as much as possible either at home or in small group outings. I'll start with music and add on from there.
1. Music - This could be a very long post but I'll keep it short here: The 1990s had a swing revival alongside a wave of Ska that faded out but quite a few of the current electro-swing groups have members of these bands. If you like electro-swing you'll probably like some of the 90s stuff too. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Royal Crown Revue practically launched the scene and are absolutely worth checking out. Postmodern Jukebox is one you've likely heard of but in case you haven't their covers of contemporary music in jazz or swing styles are a good way to start exploring the musical genre. Also often overlooked is the Barbershop Quartet, a style that predates the target time period by a lot but a revival started in the 1930s that continues today. A lot of the films from the Golden Age of Hollywood had impressive soundtracks that made great background music.
Next up I'll talk a bit about wardrobes for the two subgenres.

Happy STS!
If your WIP were to ever get an adaptation: Who would you want to compose the soundtrack and why? (me, for instance, I would want John Powell to compose FSF because of Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon, and I would want Hanz Zimmer to do TCIO because I love all of the superhero movie scores he’s done.)
Bonus: give us some examples of the composer’s stuff you like!
Hi! Thanks for asking - this is a great question. My initial answer (and the answer that I still had even after a little while of thinking about it) was I have no clue.
I'm someone who very much imagines moving pictures when I write scenes, so picturing my WIP as an adaptation is not hard. But I never imagine the sound/music at all.
I think the Adventures of Sitora Lux would be better suited to a TV series than a movie adaptation. And you know how Daft Punk did the soundtrack for Tron? I would hire CHVRCHES to make an electro-pop soundtrack to go with the series, along with some original songs for the impactful scenes/montages.
Similar sort of thing for Chrissie's of London: when I write, I often listen to the Great Gatsby soundtrack that has a lot of elctroswing/hip hop blend covers. I think an artist like Caravan Palace would make a good soundtrack, and capture that psychedelic vibe, but also, it would be cool to hire Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox to do some vintage covers of some modern songs, a la Bridgerton.
I can't picture music for a Grey-Sky Lark adaptation at all...it covers hugely different time periods, so it would need different music to suit the vibe of each one.

❇️➿💬 <33 [wanderers-wife]
Both of these s/i focused ones are gonna be focused on Piera mainly because she's the only one I have fully developed lol
❇️: Reminds you of your S/I
The Postmodern Jukebox cover of I Knew You Were Trouble for Piera. It fits her bcs it's a song about knowing someone is dangerous, and hey, she has a spider sense. Plus, it's a cover meant to sound like a Motown song which fits her vibe as someone from a world perpetually in the 50s aesthetic wise but with modern sensibilities
➿: You imagine mutual pining to
The cover of Tearin’ Up My Heart from Zoey’s is one of my favs. Especially with the three vocalists, imo it works really well for a mutual pining situation (and potential love triangle pining one lol)
💬: Is close to your story (if you have a backstory/canon for your relationship!)
This one was tricky, but I wanna say another Postmodern Jukebox cover for Piera- Mr. Blue Sky. This is more 20s styled, but imo it still fits her vibe with stuff like I mentioned earlier in this ask. The idea of it being a sunny day after a period of dreary-ness also fits with her imo, with that representing how she’s been through a lot of tough things but remains optimistic- and is now having some good things happening to her with Miguel. Also the “hey you with the pretty face / welcome to the human race” lyric makes me think of what it was like for her when she joined the spider society, with it opening up a whole new world for her (literally and metaphorically)

Just wanted to tell you that your post earlier reminded me how much I really like Blake Lewis' music and I've been on a listening binge all day! Brings back good memories of working retail when that album came out--Binary Love and Heartbreak on Vinyl were some of the more palatable songs corporate made us play lol.
Heartbreak on Vinyl and Binary Love have been on my scifi inspiration playlist for so many years! I watched that American Idol season when it aired and fell in love with him heheheh
I'm so glad you had a fun nostalgia trip yesterday!!!!
(I also recommend this one from his newer stuff!!! Rohan and I danced to it as our last dance at the wedding reception <333)
(and Blake did some fun stuff with Postmodern Jukebox too!!!)

Tagged by @hey-hey-j  for the tag game. It’ll be interesting to see how I answer these.
Rules: if you get tagged in this, answer the questions that are written and make sure to swap out one question at the end of it for the next person to answer.
1. Are you named after anyone?  I’m sort of named after my aunt, who was named after a character of a TV show (that my grandfather liked) based of a book, and THAT character might of been named after someone. I admit it’s kind of amusing that it’s such a chain of ‘named after this person.’
2. Do you ever go window shopping on sites like Etsy, and if so, what kinds of things do you look at?   Not really.
3. What’s your choice of listening material when doing stuff? When I’m writing I prefer listing to music without lyrics (if it matches the tone of whatever I’m writing it helps) and it varies. Most often it’s video game music, Miyazaki, classical, etc. If I’m just doing art I’ll throw on YouTube videos.
4. Do you like a song for its sound or for its lyrics? Often both. I’m picky about what songs I like, but I like it when both work well together. (Though I hate it when the lyrics DON’T match the tone of the music, or aren’t sung in the right tone). Also, there’s some songs where I prefer the cover version over the original (I don’t care for Billie Eilish’s singing, and there’s a Motown version of Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake it off’ by PostModern Jukebox that is vastly superior to the original version.)
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people? Usually whatever they wear or else their physical appearance. It depends.
6. What’s your eye color? Green. (Though maybe they might be hazel since there’s a light brown ring around the pupils).
7. Scary movies or happy endings? I prefer happy endings. Some scary movies are actually quite enjoyable, but only if they are done right (Jordan Peele’s Nope is such an example). Otherwise I hate it when scary films get too violent, have a downer ending, or involve topics of abuse. Or have constant jumpscares, which is why I never really got into most horror games.
8. Any special talents? Singing. I’ve done choir, Opera, musical theater, etc. I’ve done some acting as well. Drawing and writing are pretty obvious ones for those who know my works. Painting is a major one too.
9. What trait in others draws you to them? Honesty is a huge one. I like it when people are open about themselves and what they like, as well as what they don’t like. Or if they tell you something you need to hear.
10. What are your hobbies? Writing and drawing. Painting is a big one too. I used to play video games but I don’t as much (partly because I feel like a new system is going to be coming soon anyway). I suppose singing could count.
11. Do you have any pets? I used to have cats. Fantasia was my last cat and I had her from middle school to some time after I was done with college/university. She always sat on the table whenever I got help with math and she’d watch me and my dad.
12. What sports do you play/Have played? Tennis is probably my favorite. Soccer is fun too. I used to do running when I was really little. However I was more of a theater kid.
13. How tall are you? 5 feet, 2 and a half inches.
14. Favorite subject in school? Literature/Language Arts. I was one of the few kids that would read whatever I was assigned more than once. When I was in middle school we had to read ‘The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe’ and ‘Roll of thunder hear my cry’ and I read the other books in those series. I also took pride in scoring the highest out of anyone on a test for Cyrano de Bergerac in my high school senior year. (However I ****ing hated reading Moby Dick over the summer) and was NOT happy when I found out that I didn’t really NEED to read the entire thing to do all the paperwork/answer all the questions.)
I don’t know if art and choir count since they were extra curricular classes, but I loved them as well and could share lots of stories. Plus one of my favorite teachers was my high school art teacher.
15. Dream job? I would love to be a writer and illustrate my own books. Alternatively it’d be awesome to do artwork for an animation studio.
I’m tagging @artistcaptainbendy  as the next person. Anyone else can do it too.
I’m changing #12 to: If you became a God/Deity, what would your domain be and how could you use your powers to make the world a better place?

Getting to know you meme tagged by @andallthatmerrymishigas
Favorite time of year: for the temps and the aesthetics, it’s the 4th quarter. Fall. But I work in a retail adjacent field and this time of year is like a suckerpunch to the face every week so it’s also the time of year I dread the most. Emotionally, spring is getting to be my favorite time of year because spring break means a 10 day vacation.
Comfort foods: Shari’s chocolate chip cookies (made with see’s baking chocolates), homemade fried tacos, mashed potatoes, my moms chicken enchiladas, in n out, the pollo asada tacos from Casa Del Rey.
Do you collect anything? Dogs, apparently. Fandoms. Briard stuff. Moving a couple years ago forced me to really whittle down my collections so now I have a few prizes pieces. My life magazines signed by ginger Rogers. My picture with Isabella Rossellini. Shari’s Moolly. The travel scrapbooks I’ve made. Photos. Recipes. Quilts made by Shari’s mom. An afghan made by my grandma. A painting of me by my nana.
Favorite drinks: Coke Zero, iced tea, pepsi, frozen margaritas, mimosas.
Favorite music artists: the other day I had a playlist going at work from my iTunes and it was… eclectic is a mild word. I mean you’ve got your typical divas. Reba, Dolly, Cher. An outrageous number of musicals are represented: wicked, Hamilton, frozen, beauty and the beast, the Addams family, hairspray, Sweeney Todd, Les Mis, Cabaret. And then the rest is the most insane amalgamation of music mostly culled from movie and television soundtracks that are inexorably tied to that media in my mind forever. And postmodern jukebox.
Current favorite songs: oh good grief. Nothing But Diamonds by ATO. Now by the carpenters (shut up). The Sound of Silence (disturbed). Truth Hurts (lizzo). Black Sheep (gin wigmore). Once upon a dream (Lana del rey). March March (the chicks). Chandelier (puddles pity party).
Favorite fics: well obviously Harts All A Flutter by @andallthatmerrymishigas which is single-handedly keeping me going through this grueling holiday season. But also her Downton stuff. And Blake stuff. I’m a fangirl sue me. And then…do you know how much fanfic I’ve read?? Alias, XF, MFMM, tdbm. I have even started scanning svu/OC stuff.
Favorite video games: bubble bobble (NES), Soulblazer (SNES), Mario bros 3 (NES), Skee-ball plus (iOS), Bioshock Infinite (PlayStation 3), Mario kart (wii).
Tagging: I dunno. The Hart crew. @blossom--of--snow @tyree-toes @holy-ships-x-red-lips who am I missing.

What are some songs you’ve been listening to lately? :0 (and also what are your favorite music artists?? I am gripped with severe curiosity)
OHH oh gosh making the list small will be hard haha, i like a LOTT of music in different genres by different artists i have a bit over 3000 songs saved in files on my laptop alone!!
i've been listening to russian music more recently, просто Лера("Just Lera" but search "prosto lera" or the russian for her to come up) is an artist i really like, she has modern music but keeps that russian tang that i find a lot of russian music is missing recently. a lot of it does just sound like western pop translated to russian or is too heavy dubstep for me.
Батареи by Нервы(Batarei by Nervy) is also good!! Нервы/Nervy has a lot of songs I like but that's been a favourite
more arists i like are Lyn Lapid(east side is so good im obsessed), Maisie Peters, Flower Face, Conan Gray, Addie Hamilton(and most stuff on the Postmodern Jukebox on yt!), Em Beihold, and a recent favourite has been Emei!
and a forever favourite will always be Halfalive, i love basically everything by them.
i enjoy an occasional song by AJR! and not to be a kpop fan but, recently i've been having Cheshire by ITZY and Love Shot by EXO on loop hah

Orchid, sage, chamomile
orchid ⇢ what’s a song you consider to be perfect?
My music preferences change pretty much monthly so I can’t really give a complete answer. Right now, maybe If I Believed from Twisted bcs I’m in Starkid mode rn? That or Shalott by Emilie Autumn. Or the cover of idontwannabeyouanymore by Postmodern Jukebox. But also none of those bcs there is a more perfect answer but I can’t find it
sage ⇢ what ‘medium’ of art (poetry, music, fiction, paintings, statues etc.) is the most touching to you? why do you think that is?
I’m admittedly not someone who gets moved by art very easily bcs I do not tend to be very emotional in general. Probably film or comic books. I like the way that visuals and dialogue combine to tell a story, with neither of them being nearly as effective without the other
chamomile ⇢ what kind of things do you like receiving as gifts?
Things that last. I can appreciate more temporary things but I prefer stuff where even a year later I can remember it being a gift and appreciate that. That also means I prefer physical gifts, so things like statues or figures or jewelry or trade paperbacks. This is unfortunate bcs I have very little space for things

!congrats on 600! 🎉👏
Could I ask for option 2 romantic ship with one of the marauders boys (sirius, remus, james or peter)?
I'm female, short, dark hair sadly not naturally dark just dyed, blue eyes. I don't know if I count as ace, I don't want to put labels on myself, but yeah physical intimacy in that way is a no go for me. Introverted.
I like vintage furniture, trinkets and clothes. Someday I hope to have my own place fully decorated and furnished with vintage items. Maybe like each room done in a different decade.
Things I like to do:
go for walks and visit my favorite cafe alone. Watch judy garland movies. Or frank sinatra movies. I maybe have a miniscule crush on Mr Sinatra lol. Listening to music, all kinds of music from the good old stuff like frankie laine, otis reding, doris day to modern stuff like YouTube musicians violet orlandi, halocene, postmodern jukebox (Hailey reinharts cover of seven nation army!) Reading. Sewing. Making up fictional scenarios in my head 🤣
I believe in the turn the other cheek motto, it is ridiculously hard to make me hold a grudge against you, I pretty much don't ever. I can hold plenty against myself though lol
I'm sentimental, I had all my birthday cards and occassion cards from a bunch of different people since I was a baby but then I got annoyed at myself for holding onto too much junk 🙃 threw it all away and wish I didn't. I have a little jewelry box (it's literally 100 years old which I think is so cool) it's full of gift tags of presents I've got over the years where the sender wrote a little note on the tag- they're all mostly from my aunty that I don't see often
hi! thank you for participating :)
i ship you with sirius!
i think he’d be immediately attracted to you, and find you and your hobbies adorable. i think sirius loathes most of his upbringing in a pureblood household, and he’d hate most things that remind him of it, but he’d also have such great taste in old things. and he’d love to have a home of his own with you, and he’d help you decorate it in a way you both liked. he’d make a new home with you, one that didn’t remind him of his childhood. and he couldn’t deny, he does have good taste. he’d probably steal a bunch of shit from home that he did actually like, or already have inherited some heirlooms you could share. he’d appreciate that you have a love for old things, i think that’s a part of his old life that he couldn’t let go. but until you, he didn’t really have a chance to visit it. i think he’d give you gifts too, knowing you’d love them. he’d attach new and special meanings to his things, now that they remind him of you. and he’d love how sentimental you are. i think he’d be pretty sentimental too. he values the few people he has in life that he loves, and so he’d understand why you keep things from them. he doesn’t get to see any of his family, so he’d make new family, and would probably keep things that remind him of all of you. he wouldn’t think anything you keep is junk, even if it’s something as simple as a concert ticket or an old card. what you chose to keep and throw away is fine by him.
i think he’d like the fact you’re introverted. he’s a pretty outgoing guy, but i think he’d also have times when he wants to be alone, and he’d know he could come and be with you. i know that some people consider sirius to have a reputation of dating/sleeping with a lot of people, and im sure he’s got plenty of experience, but i think he’d really value that you don’t put physical intimacy in a sexual way at the front of your relationship. he really wouldn’t mind not being intimate that way with you. despite what some people might think, it’s really not that important to him. i think he’s probably used to girls who want that, and it’s fine for girls who do, but i think he’d get a little sick of being known for that. honestly, he’s probably been used for that, and fronts like it’s ok, but internally he feels really bad about it. he’d love that with you, touches could be innocent. he’s probably not be used to little touches, and would crave them, especially from people who he loves.
after a hard day, he wouldn’t want to go to the common room and sit with everyone. he’d just want to go to bed, and have some time to himself. he’d remember you, and know that you were probably not in the common room, and he’d think of all the places you liked to hang out. he’d find you somewhere quiet, immediately relaxing when he saw you.
you’d smile, immediately holding your hand out for him to take. “hi, love. are you alright?”
he’d sit down, leaning into you. “long day.”
you’d frown, tucking his hair out of his face and intertwining your fingers. he’d smile to himself, rubbing his thumb along the back of your hand.
“do you want to talk about it?”
sirius would feel his heart warm, knowing you really meant it. he couldn’t say no, nodding. you’d hold his hand, listening to everything he had to say. he’d ask you about your day after, sitting with you the rest of your night.
