I absolutely HATE underswap. Always have. The fact that it just swaps characters personalities with no actual changes annoys me so goddamn much. There's no actual thought put into any of the swaps! If you're going to make a roleswap, I feel like it should at least do something meaningful with the characters, because otherwise it's basically just doing an aesthetics swap. Which is fine I guess. But then WHY WAS IT SO FUCKING POPULAR... also the fact that everyone obsessed over swap papyrus was so fucking frustrating (not because I don't like papyrus, quite the opposite, but because the only time he was the center of attention was when he was basically just sans but tall and orange.) speaking of which why the fuck did the fandom decide that papyrus' color was orange it makes no goddamn sense. he's never even connected to that color in game. where as red and blue he absolutely is. sorry this became an absolutely insane rant

posting these together since theyre both about the same thing - but , yea. to be honest i was so much focusing on the design aspect that that aspect of their bad take didnt really register in my brain.. but. yea. yous totally have a point. also yea, think its worth talking about the way yasha's tribe is spoken about.. mostly it seems like, unchecked bigotry toward indigenous people and other POC that's been baked into dnd since the beginning.. and like, its not outright, but they should've examined that and thought about the connotations of a "violent tribe".. also, sidenote - i know picts and celtic people stuff where also demonised, but couldve called her tribe a violent brutal clan or something instead, at least it doesn't have a racist, colonialist past behind the idea of a violent tribe. also in yasha's earlier designs she was more celtic inspired rather than based on viking people and scandinavian, so it couldve worked. thats just my idea though. . interested in hearing others for sure :-o

i do think aaravi is mostly incredibly lean and kinda scrawny. like she has muscle still, but its sinewy kinda muscle and it sticks pretty strictly to her bones, and she could definitely stand to be in better shape. she doesnt really work out (shell go on jogs and stretch and do other things in the comfort of her own space and away from other people, but shes not a gym girl), so basically all of her strength comes from dungeon diving and hunting and physical activities, and shes still shooting herself in the foot there by forcing herself to go too hard too quick.

her diet also sucks, since she regularly forgets to eat or puts off eating, and most of what she does eat tends to be gas station junk and energy drinks. this isnt to say she doesnt greatly enjoy cooking, but shes at the point in time where her enjoying it means its its own ordeal and event and she often is just too focused on other things to dedicate time and space to make her own food. it becomes too much of a special thing rather than an everyday thing.

as time goes on and she stops throwing herself into every hunt like she wants it to kill her, she does start to gain weight and put on some more solid muscle, making her look like proper butch bait again instead of an angry feral cat.
