I feel like I simply. Could Not take the pressure of writing an official Star Trek novel or novelization, because, as someone who loves making silly jokes For The Bit, the potential repercussions are so intense.
You write one line about Spock getting drunk off the sucrose in a mint and suddenly there are 50,000 fics about Spock's addiction to chocolate and everyone has to rethink the entirety of the chemical properties of the Vulcan diet
Can you imagine what a misplaced pun might do

If you enjoy the star trek voyage home movie, I highly recommend reading the novelization! There's a lot more detail in the book versions of the movies that they can't squeeze into the film format
To argue my case, I present the scene where Gillian drives them back to the park
A wonderful bonus, once kirk returns from his dinner with gillian

Every year I wrap my sister's gifts in brown paper so that I can customize the wrapping with a lil' doodle.
There's a theme this year.
Favourite character: Spock
Favourite movie: The One With the Whales
(Something we all have in common. We love Spock and cetaceans in this house.)
Happy Holidays, folks.❤️🎄🖖
