On a mountain, there's a story told a thousand times
Of a garden and a bed there made to rest our eyes
“What are you staring at?” The question was merely rhetoric, since it was more than evident that Dazai had been staring at him. After around five minutes, more or less, there was no room for doubt. If Sigma was asking, it was to make him say so out loud.
“Your gorgeous face, obvi.” Easy as that, exactly as expected. And, by the way he smiled, face cupped between his own hands… Dazai was anything but remorseless; exactly as expected as well.
“And here I thought you have work to do.”
“Nah, don’t worry.” He shook his head, and even freed a hand and waved it before taking it back to its previous position. “I can always ask Atsushi-kun to--”
“Nuh-uh!” Could be heard from the other corner of the office. Because, of course, Atsushi was going to pick that up and was having none of it.
“Do it yourself, Dazai, come on.” Sigma himself added. He might have grown fond of the man, but that meant nothing when work was involved. Mainly.
“Mhmm.” One of Dazai’s hands moved again, this time to tap his chin, and such a thoughtful demeanor only anticipated some sort of scheme. “Alright, buuut. I work better with some motivation. So, pretty please…” He even batted his eyelashes at him, putting clear emphasis on his upcoming words. “A lil’ kissy, will you?”
Sigma, on the other hand, didn’t make use of a lot of theatrics. Leaning in, closer to the desk and Dazai’s face, he pointed at a small stack of papers with his index finger, letting it rest directly over it for a second. Then put on his brightest smile.
“Finish at least this part, and that kiss’ yours.”

"You're too slo-ow~!"
Any other day, the teasing lilt in Sonic's sing-song brought a grin to Tails' face. Of course, on any other day the one on the receiving end of the sing-song was a badnik, rather than Tails himself.
Tails swallowed the growl he felt building in his throat, but he couldn't stop his fur from poofing as he balled his fists. Standing tall and proud on a hilltop above him, Sonic clicked his tongue.
"Standing there all mad's not gonna help you tag me. Are you giving up already?"
"No."
"Then come on!" Sonic laughed, and bounced from foot to foot. "Give it another go!"
Tails scanned the hills on either side of Sonic. On one side was a spring that would catapult Sonic up to the ski lifts; on the other a sharp drop-off that would put them back at the bottom of the mountain. In the couple of weeks that they had known each other, Sonic hadn't liked to back track much if he could help it. Why go back to see what he had already seen, when there was so much new stuff to see up ahead, he'd said. So if Tails were to make a guess on which route Sonic would take—
Lashing his tails in a fast spin, Tails propelled himself up the hill. The second Tails' toes lifted from the earth, Sonic sprang to the spring. Anticipating this, Tails arced a sharp left and threw himself at the ski lift. But as always, Sonic was faster; he had no soon touched down on the ski lift before he vaulted back off it, back to his hill. And Tails was going too fast; he crashed face-first into the ski lift cart, his muzzle bonking against the railing before he fell to the seat.
"Ooh, that looked like it hurt!" Sonic said, the thrill of the chase still thick in his voice. "You okay up there?"
Tails pushed himself onto his knees, and rubbed at his nose. It hurt, but not that badly; he'd had worse from badniks. But . . .
"Tails?" Sonic called again, his voice a little farther away now as the ski left carried Tails farther away from the hill.
Tails sniffed loudly, and hitched his breath as he said, "I-I'm okay—"
In a flash Sonic was perched on the railing of the ski lift, his brow knitted together as he frowned down at Tails. "Are you bleeding? Show me where you—"
Tails smacked his open palm against Sonic's leg before he bounded backward off the ski lift, tails spinning fast to keep him aloft. "You're it!"
Sonic stared at him, open mouthed and uncomprehending for only a second, before realization locked into place. "Are you for real? You sneaky little cheater!"
"It's not cheating. Cheating means it's against the rules, and there are no rules besides whoever gets tagged is it." Tails flew backwards a little more, just enough so that Sonic couldn't tag him from the ski lift. "And you got tagged, so you're it!"
Sonic shook his head, but he was grinning. "As soon as this lift lands, it's on. Don't you think you can get away with that one twice, pal."
Being able to tag Sonic even once was accomplishment enough for Tails, but he stuck out his tongue. "Won't have to, 'cause you won't catch me."
Sonic laughed. "Challenge accepted."

This is such a sweet prompt! 85 is Long Live (Taylor's Version), which is such a magical option. Sorry I made you wait so long to write it!
"You did it!" Robin cried as she flung her arms around Steve.
"We did it," he corrected, holding her so close that the air between them disappeared. "You know I couldn't have made it without you."
As Robin pulled back, she leveled him with a disapproving stare. "That's not true, and you know it. I was merely moral support. Passing your classes? That was all you?" She reached up to fix the hat on her head and make sure the tassel was still on the correct side before flying off to share a moment with her cohort.
Steve easily let her go. He watched their excitement before turning himself and scanning the room for some of the other education majors. Technically they'd had a separate ceremony for their certificates, but since his primary major was History, he'd been able to walk officially for the Liberal Arts ceremony and therefore with Robin.
She was right that he'd made it himself, but he was right that he couldn't have done it alone.
They'd built a world together in their apartment, a place where they could hold out and be themselves in a city that four years ago had been a stranger they'd needed to defend against. Even though they both loved it now, Steve still thought about life with a bit of us vs them. Perhaps it was everything they'd been through. Perhaps it was that they'd spent this time with the two of them against others.
Whatever it was, Steve couldn't wait for the next steps. He couldn't wait to continue on their lives together.
He couldn't wait to see Robin fly.

20. If you listen to music while you write, what songs or artists did you find yourself listening to on repeat?
I can’t listen to music with lyrics while I’m actually writing so I tend to listen to a lot of Miles Davis and other jazz. Usually on vinyl because it’s helpful to have to get up every so often to change the record. I did create and then listen to a playlist for you’re like a tattoo and the first song on the playlist (which is the song that the lyric I used as a title is from) was my number one most played song for 2023 on my spotify wrapped. The playlist is very much giving I am a queer white woman in her 40s from the US. Features music by queer women to make up for the misogyny in canon.
21. Not a question, but a challenge! Say something nice about your writing
Soph, you’re going to kill me. I write emotions well. I spend a lot of time thinking about my characters and how they came to see the world they way they do and the ways they are in relationships and how that might change as a result of their experiences with other characters. I saw a post floating around that suggested something about how focusing on the ship in a piece of media is neglecting other (more important) themes. And I can certainly see how that can be the case, what other themes are there in our lives that are more important than how we feel and who we are and the ways in which our relationships impact us and those around us? Maybe I’m wrong, but to me that is one of the most important things about this life we’re given and I like to think I don’t do a half bad job of exploring it in my writing.

Whelp I said as soon as the 2019 Spotify Wrapped playlists were released I’d announce a fic challenge and here it is!
Sign Ups Start: Dec 4, 2019
Sign Ups End: Jan 30th (feel free to sign up any time before the due date and let me know if you need an extension)
Fics Due: Jan 31st, 2020
Rules:
Sign up by sending me an ask telling me which song you’d like to take and if you’ll be posting on a different blog!
Must be a reader insert. Ships can be included but must be ship x reader
Characters you write for must be ones I know (I’d like to be able to read and understand who you’re writing for)
You can find my fandoms list here and if you have questions about characters go ahead and send an ask!
Tag me in the post! (and if you want DM me a link too because sometimes tumblr is bad with notifications)

Like him, inside and outside
“Do you perhaps understand this song?” Dagon asked, to which Hanami could only shrug and offer a negative head shaking. Not understanding it was an understatement, actually: they were utterly and completely clueless.
“He seems to be having fun, though.” Their head pointed slightly towards Mahito, who was humming along with the beat like nothing else mattered.
“Can’t judge him.” Dagon continued. “But can’t call myself a big fan of anything human-related either.” He had no need to say more, not in general and definitely not for Hanami to understand in particular; if there were two beings who could understand, those were the two of them. Perks of being both curses of nature, one might guess.
Though there was also more than that, or better yet: more than that precisely born by the seeds of mutual understanding.
“We won’t have to worry about them once everything’s done.” Hanami said, lifting a hand to avoid the cloth Dagon was wearing to fall off from his body. “Not when they’re all gone and it’s just us.” They weren’t referring simply to curses in general.
“Looking forward to it.” And Hanami also knew Dagon wasn’t referring simply to curses in general either. Could anything be sweeter than such a certainty?

I'm losin' my grip
Caught up in the current
Won't drown in this ship
“You ready, miss?” Sweet as ever, Lucas asked, tilting his head towards the set as a wordless offer to walk together and start with the program.
“I… I’m nervous as hell, not gonna lie.” Riona quickly admitted, taking a few deep breaths. “But I think I am, yeah.”
“Ah, I was too before my first, so don’t worry. It’s pretty normal, actually. I mean, I know I can’t just poof your nervousness away but…” He smiled, scratching his head, and the room seemed brighter for a second. “If it helps, miss, I’m gonna be there with you all the time.”
It did help; both Lucas’ words and even his mere presence made wonders in making her feel better. And maybe saying it all out loud might be somewhat difficult yet, but nodding solemnly as an answer might suffice for the time being.
“By the way, are you calling me ‘miss’ while recording too?” Something bordering teasing and lightly joking, though, was way easier. Besides, Riona would be lying if she said she wasn’t curious about it.
“Wel…” He tapped his own chin with a finger in what seemed a genuine thoughtful demeanor. “It depends, you wanna or would you rather keep that between us?”
“Strictly speaking, it’s not just between us, since everyone at the cafe knows. But, getting nitpicky aside… yeah, I think I’d like that.” Plus, and as much as she liked how it was becoming a nickname of sorts… Riona also liked when Lucas called her by her name.
