I bought myself a rotating spindle stand from Kravelli on etsy to better store my spindle collection. Only my drop spindles don’t fit in it, so those will remain in the pebble filled jar.
as promised, kitty cat hair spinning! finally! feat. my pyjama leggies. (i turned the lights on for pictures but currently i’m spinning in low light w a thunderstorm outside. lovely lovely.)
i suspect i’m kind of over-spinning this, but I’m planning to ply it so that will take some of the twist back out, and i also Really want it to stay together. this little bit is part of my hand-carding experiment before we busted out the drum carder, but even with that it’s drafting a lot better than i remember it doing when i was just grooming it off the cat. so! we shall see…
Spinning was the aspect of my craft that really made everything click. For a long time, I owed that and more to tarot as it was a catalyst in itself... However. When I spin I feel my energy being drafted into my threads in a way that really hit home. I can't wait to find a use for her in my craft ~ ☆
I don't know which terms are widely used, so I included every one I was aware of. I know DK and Sport are technically different weights, but they are the closest two and I ran out of space, so.
Bonus if you include what you call that weight and where you're from !
2 ounces of hand spun yarn! I spun and plied this on a drop spindle (also made by me). this was my first time chain plying and although it was hard at first I am very pleased with the effect! it will knit up into a nice rainbow ombre.
