Kings and Queens Of Spider-Island
In honor of Spider-Mondays and Columbia Pictures 100th Anniversary, here’s a little piece I did of the MCU Spider-Man with his friends/classmates of the Homecoming Trilogy, all clad in the additional suits introduced in Far From Home.
Took a while to get the suits to look as best as possible, and to figure out which characters to give them to, but I still think it’s a pretty fun piece for this Spider-Mania.
Hope you like it!

Marvel asks! 10, 13, and 31!
10. What character has the best character development?
So, for this one, I'm going to not be a little salty turd and refer primarily to when characters have gotten really good development, and not when they have regressed, because that's stupid.
With that in mind, I'm going to say: Flash Thompson. Bar none. (Weird 80s stuff around Sha Shan you are DEAD to me.)
Like even in just the span of the first... oh, maybe fifty issues of Amazing Spider-Man he really grows a lot. He goes from being selfish and in his petty little rivalry with Peter to starting to see his old high school rival in a new light. He finds a role model in Spider-Man. By the time he's in college and meets Harry, they hit it off pretty fast, but what really strikes me is that as early as ASM #47 (I think) he literally leaps to defend Harry from Kraven. He even puts his full attention into making sure Harry is okay!! That's something 17 year old Flash Thompson probably never would have done!
As he gets older and continues to mature, he officially buries the hatchet with Peter, he starts to really realize what his friendships mean to him, and he flounders a bit here and there but he tries, he really tries. He realizes he wants to make a difference in people's lives, he runs a boxing class for underprivileged kids, here and there he's a gym teacher, he's a good person but he didn't necessarily start that way! It's about the growth. It's about starting as the kid who lied about holding his own against Doctor Doom and ending up as someone with the potential to be worthy of the fucking Enigma Force. I love Flash Thompson. He's grown so much.
13. Favorite canon AU?
HMMM... it's pretty well-known that I'm not a huge alternate universe fan, since most of them tend to fuck up really bad with one character I really, really like... but the Secret Wars Battleworlds: Spider-Island mini was really good. It had probably the best Flash death I've ever read and a surprisingly good Peter identity reveal. The VenomFlash content was great too, and of course it inspired by rarest of rare ships, Vision/Flash/Venom Symbiote. Because why not. (:
It's really good and I definitely recommend it.
31. What book made you like a character you didn't care about? Well, I'd never say that I didn't care about Johnny Storm but I definitely cared about him more than I ever did before after I read the "Rising Storm" arc of Mark Waid's Fantastic Four series. After reading those issues it changed my perspective on Johnny completely. Literally changed my life. Honestly he was my least favorite F4 member until I read that and then I was like. Oh I get it now. He's now equally as beloved to me as everyone else.

Spider-Cat Headcanons
Spider-Cat is technically immortal. It's a combination of his spider powers and the superstition of cats with 9 lives. As long as he doesn't die a 9th time in one sitting, his lives reset to 9.
Spider Island is covered in spider people who just live their lives with powers and are normal people. The only reason Miguel chose Spider-Cat to join SS is to study him and what made him, and potentially the rest of the population, get spider powers on Spider Island.
Spider-Cat probably does fight Venom Pidgeons daily.
Miles calls him Fat Boy and Stinkman and many, many other names, despite the fact that this cat can probably whoop his ass 9 ways to Sunday.
Miguel is the only one able to take him to the vet.
He's probably the best Society Member to send on a stealth mission to most dimensions. Y'know, cause he looks like a normal cat. So no human villain would suspect him.
He's technically just a normal house cat so the spider kids all play with him like a normal cat for the most part
He steals food off everyone's plate. (He's not allowed near the food lines in the cafeteria because of his fur)
Hobie really likes him but doesn't know how to handle cats, so Spider-Cat avoids him. It wasn't until Miles or Gwen taught him that he could bond with the cat.
Probably ate a Venom Pidgeon once and nearly died. The other roommates freaked out until Howard gave him a dose of hydrogen peroxide and made him throw up

Earth-19919
A reality where Adriana Soria (Spider-Queen) successfully controlled Manhattan after infecting almost every citizen with a spider-virus before a cure could be developed and killing Peter Parker (Spider-Man). Eugene Thompson (Agent Venom) led a resistance against the Spider-Queen, liberating the Avengers and the people of Manhattan by altering their DNA and changing them into bird people, dinosaur people, lizard people, man-spiders, vampires, and werewolves.
After the destruction of this reality by an Incursion, a segment of this Earth was used to form a region on the multiversal Battleworld known as Spider-Island.
First mentioned/appearance: Spider-Island #1 (2015)

The gut-wrenching realization that the past eight years of his life had been a carefully constructed lie was a lot to take in, and Miles was still struggling to continue on with normal conversations with people as if all of this was normal. As if things weren’t completely wrong here in this place known as Battleworld. Even the name itself was so on the nose that he was mind blown that people still didn’t even realize. “Yeah, I feel ya. I dunno, I just.. haven’t felt like myself lately. You know?”

Writer Rick Remender takes the Venom Symbiote in a whole new direction, bonding it with Flash Thompson as Agent Venom!
When people start developing spider-powers as Manhattan becomes a SPIDER-ISLAND, Flash faces the Jackal’s very own spider-super-soldier, the Spider-King!
But is this Spider-King someone we know?
A reading order for SPIDER-ISLAND (2011) is on the way!
