My friends had an appointment to get their cat spayed on a date that turned out to be a week after she eventually gave birth (she was already pregnant when they made the appt unbeknownst to them 💀) and she’s an indoor cat but she got out for like 3-4 hours one day and that’s logically the only window of time when she could have gotten pregnant…. now that’s a gal on a MISSION if I’ve ever seen one.

Really hating this trend I've been seeing lately with people refusing to fix their pets. Idc if you think spaying/neutering is 'unnatural' or whatever, there's no reason why your dog should still have his balls unless you're breeding- and given the overpopulation of cats and dogs and full shelters, your dog shouldn't be breeding either. This isn't some sort of 'oh if you're a good enough owner its not a problem' thing either, you being the 'alpha dog' ain't gonna stop him from losing his damn mind if he smells a bitch in heat. His balls are not worth the behavior problems, believe me

Good question; when a dog walks into the clinic; if they don’t have swinging testicles or lactating nipples; I can’t tell on sight if they are a Male or Female.

So I ask things like “who do we have here, THEY sure are cute” or “can we get THEM in exam room ___”

And for kitty cats in carriers; no way can I tell what sex your cat is from the cracks in the carrier; so I they/them until you tell me their name and I can read their patient file

I need to stop going on Instagram it just makes me mad at this point

im gonna see if i can get some of my clowder cat friends to get spayed. mostly the females of course, first. i think i'd be good.

i want to help them . even if its just these 10-15 or so cats that live here near the classrooms. if i can make a change even if so small.

its good because i know almost all of them by now and most of them are males. colmillo my best friend is female and she lets me pet her and pick her up a bit so she should be the first one. theres also a young kitty mom and her kids. id love to catch them too when i can.

but im most worried about a little calico girl, her leg seems a bit injured. shes so wary but she needs to go see a vet. ill try my best to catch her.....

i do!! we have four dogs and five cats and there's....3 kittens which is like a month old. which sounds like a LOT but the cats are free agents (a.k.a. they're not inside the house but they don't live outside either?? they have their own lil house in our yard basically and they also have names lmao) so yeah i'm being provided with a daily dose of serotonin and chaos from the lovely bunch that's for sure sksksks

Girlies... 2 rats isn't really recommended and soon I may have to get lil babies (preferably my winter break which is soon).

And I do know abt a few good rat breeders in my area. My question is, what variants in terms of fur and ears (I legit CAN'T decide...). I know one I want to be like Bezi so fuzz? Mostly bc I miss the texture of her skin and my mom cries about her a lot almost daily. But the other one idk. Dumbo? Rex? Harley (if there's any around here...)??? I will use that suggestion to pick the breeder, not the individual animals. Bc for that I will use intuition as I always have. Will ask my friends for opinions too ig.

trixie and sunnys parents are actually a very romantic interesting cat couple (i do not own them). i would say that they are a traditional catholic / some kind of christian lower class couple, with also a lot of true love involved. they got together young (both under 1 yr old) and had a lot of babies before they were spayed (this part was unfortunate as it took awhile for their owner to do so since it was expensive. thankfully they are now)....... two litters with four kittens in each one.

when i was at the house where they were, i observed the father cat actually stole pizza off of the counter top to give to the mother cat. he didnt even try to eat it, he got it for her. the father cat was also very present in the kittens life, which was interesting to me since he was unspayed... as I am aware unspayed male cats sometimes harm kittens and practice infanticide to get a chance to mate with the mother, maybe thats with offspring that is another fathers....idk. he would play with them, cuddle them, and watch over them and their mother. (he dgaf when they were taken away though lmaooo)

now that they are both spayed and have an empty nest, they remain together and are very affectionate to each other.
