This led to a deep-field image of Pandora's Cluster of Galaxies, located around 3.5 billion light-years away in the constellation Sculptor, that achieved an impressive balance of breadth and depth that could revolutionize the study of galactic evolution. This giant galaxy cluster is about 4 million light-years across and has the mass of 4 trillion suns ✨️

And I think my spaceship knows which way to go...
Two sources of inspiration for this new print:
Chris Hadfield's cover of Space Oddity filmed aboard the ISS - and old fave I watch from time to time
Simon Snow the astronaut in @tea-brigade's Apollo 13 retelling Farewell, Aquarius, which I've read again during breaks in the carving process. The wonders and dangers of space exploration mixed with the wonders and dangers of being in love.
I dare you to not have Feelings after either listening to the first or reading the second.

Since it’s International Space Day tomorrow (and I’m not much of Star Wars fan so I seldom have anything May the 4th related) here’s a little Poke artwork comparison; Space edition! 🚀 2017 vs 2023

I drew a character based on a space painting I did, it was quite a struggle and I restarted like 5 times but I’m pretty happy with the end result !

The next illustration in my Phoebe galaxy series, Venus! I had a tough time with this one, because originally I was going to use a 'spicy' (not like that lol) theme, since Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system. Each illustration is paired with a food product that I designed, and the spicy theme I started with just wasn't hitting. SO, since Venus also has a carbon filled/acidic atmosphere, I went with soda and carbonation instead!
Soda...pop...city pop...you can see the thought process. City pop is a HUGE source of inspiration for me, so it was fun giving her a 1980's look!
I'll be posting the illustration process for this on Patreon soon. 👀
