Messy Homestuck headcanons no body cares to know about
Human!Gamzee definitely uncaps any beverage that comes in a bottle, using his teeth. Only time he doesn’t is if Karkat or Tavros can be there to catch him before he manages it- though Karkat is quicker about snatching the bottle away and scolding Gamzee than Tavros is. Anyway it’s no secret Tavros finds the little trick kind of cool and low-key hot, in that trashy sort of way.
Gamzee can play a Calliope, a steam piano/organ.
Fem!Tavros has a death hawk, and only ever styles it up into it’s long rigid hawk when either Kanaya gets her hands on the girl’s hair, or Gamzee with sticky hands covered in sopor as a sort of gel. Otherwise it’s just left un-gelled and long and loose.
I support my friend’s headcanon that Tavros wears Birkenstock sandals. That still doesn’t excuse the atrocity of wearing socks with sandals, and only adds to my major distaste because I think Birkenstocks are hideous.
Maybe Tavros isn’t exactly fated to be a legendary rapper, but I can see him actually having the voice + the skills to be a wicked dubstep bro. This one is mainly inspired by Skrillex. Dave showing him how to work with records? That’s some matrimonial bro-bonding right there.
I think it’d make sense if Gamzee had a burner/druggie fried-out voice, since I'd imagine sopor slime, if ingested over long, consistent periods, can cause some serious damage/frying to the vocal chords and throat.
Tavros and Vriska are better suited as frenemies.
Aradia and Tavros becoming moirails.
Human!Gamzee being some white trash white boy with an odd accent that’s a ghetto-burner sort of voice that's heavy and slow with a slight redneck southern twang to it is so hot and spot on don’t even @ me.
Human!Gamzee was born and is from Detroit, Michigan, only because that’s where Faygo was first created and produced and that’s where the headquarters are stationed at.
Tavros has a septum ring piercing yes.
Tavros is a perv but Gamzee is a freak so together they’re a recipe for a degenerate disaster.
Tavros having hazel eyes just makes sense to me, but especially human!Tavros.
Human!Karkat has grey eyes.
Gamzee is tall and lanky. He is just, generally long. Everything about this boy is long. E v e r y t h i n g.
Human!Gamzee with thick black hair and dark blue eyes and crooked teeth that fit in an unconventionally attractive way, paired with his doofy ass grin.
Gamzee has an aquiline nose.
Gamzee is just best described as unconventionally attractive. He's not got a bad face per se but he's gross regardless, but in that hot way y'feel me?
When Tavros ends up losing his lance or forced into closed quarters fighting, when it doubt and desesperado, he uses those horns baby.
Gamzee and Vriska in a kismesissitude/black romance is hot no I don’t take criticism.
Besides the opening bottlecaps with his teeth trick, human!Gamzee is also quite skilled in the art of manipulating smoke, like when he’s taking a drag from cigarettes, or a blunt.
Gamzee equipped with two, long, deep purple tentacle bulges, both lined with ridges/’’barbs’’.
Low bloods, whether male or female, typically/commonly having only one bulge to work with- though there can be exceptions and outliers (Sollux having twin bulges) It’s more common for higher bloods to have either larger, or more than one bulge, also either lined with ridging/barbs. Of course outliers exist for high bloods here, too.
Low bloods are easy to bruise.
Human!Tavros growing up on a quaint ranchero in the boonies, surrounded by chickens and cows and a bull and pigs and rabbits and goats and horses and a donkey, all sorts of animals. Helping out on the small piece of farmland.
Whenever an occurrence happens where Gamzee and Tavros don’t get along, and the red feelings flip pitched, the arguments are petty and cutting and someone always takes it too far. This leads to pretty intense, hateful, rough fucking. Though they never stay pitched for long, and it’s after everything’s been said and done and it’s out of their systems, the red between them returns. That’s usually when apologies come out and they actually try to listen to each other, or just drop it altogether because it was agreed it was stupid to get so angry over.
Tavros struggles more with jealousy than Gamzee does.
Tavros isn't exactly a fan of being called or labeled as ‘’cute,’’ for a multitude of reasons.
Tavros has a slight overbite.
Gamzee's feelings towards Tavros were initially unrequited. The kid came around though with how determined and persistent Gamzee was about courting him.
Tavros' favorite color is green.

Regarding your post about the pushback to Ashton and Mila and letters to judges: I hope the conversation online hasn’t taken a turn to being against the idea and use of letters to judges/ character witnesses as a hole. On my end of twitter (black twitter lol) I think this popped off because it follows closely behind the character witness letters that Iggy Azalea and others sent in for Tory Lanez. And it is a conversation about celebrity hypocrisy or double standards/ privilege (Iggy coming up in hip hop as a white Australian woman who fully copied the flow of black southern rappers and yet went 10 toes down against a black female rapper from the south). With Mila and Ashton the pushback was against two people who establish and are the face for a organization against sex trafficking that supports victims of sexual abuse… writing character witness letters for someone who has been found guilty of two counts of ra**.
I can appreciate all of that. Thanks, Anon, especially for adding the context of the Iggy Azalea/Tory Lanez letter. Like I said and you said, I think people are appalled by the show of privileged people helping other privileged people. It’s gross and we’re all tired.
I have to say, though, that while I find Ashton and Mila as annoying as the next person, I still don’t think it’s fair to say/imply that they were endorsing these rapes or rape in general. That’s not what character testimonies are.

An aspiring Houston rapper who threatened physical harm and violence toward females and their families was sentenced to 27 years in federal prison Tuesday for sex trafficking young girls, including a 14-year-old runaway.
Aryion Dupree Jackson, 24, was handed the nearly 30-year sentence from U.S. District Judge Lee Rosenthal. He pleaded guilty Dec. 19, 2022, to sex trafficking of a minor and conspiracy to traffic an adult female by force, fraud or coercion.
Between August 2019 and July 2020, Jackson, whose rap name is Yung Corleon, made minor and adult females have sex with people for money, according to the  U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas. They were threatened with violence and told to get tattoos of Jackson's brand — a five-point crown and a bag of money.
A 14-year-old girl, who was reported as a runaway by Baytown police in September 2019, was forced to have sex with people for three months to line Jackon's pockets. When interviewed by Harris County Constable's Office Precinct 5 during a traffic stop, the girl claimed to be 19, showed deputies a fake New Jersey driver's license and told them that she worked at an adult entertainment venue, court records show.
The runaway told authorities during an interview in October 2019 that she was in a long-term relationship with Jackson, he knew her actual age and she traveled with him out-of-state for rap concerts, according to court records.
Based on a text sent from the 14-year-old girl, Jackson had 12 women and girls living in a "trap house" at some point, court documents state. He didn't provide food for the women or minors, but he regularly gave them drugs to keep them working for him.
The Human Trafficking Rescue Alliance officials rescued an adult woman after Jackson trafficked her for a month and a half. During her time with Jackson, she had to earn at least $1,000 a day by charging anywhere from $100 to $300 per sex act, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. The adult woman was told to have sex at a motel near Plainfield and Bissonnet or in nearby parking lots, according to court documents.
If the victims didn't meet Jackson's quota, he told them to "get back to work or get their a** beat," the adult woman told authorities during an interview. She also said Jackson threatened to kill or harm the victims' families if they left him. He even pointed a handgun at her head and threatened to shoot her if she didn't follow his instructions.
Jackson, a documented gang member, had various Instagram accounts. One of them had several posts advertising him as a pimp, and the account contained photos of him with money and guns.
He was initially arrested in November on weapon and drug possession charges by Texas Department of Public Safety troopers. Police realized once he was in custody that he was also wanted for trafficking. Despite being in jail since November, Jackson continued to traffic women through July 2020 from jail through phone calls, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. He was caught with cellphones and drugs.
Jackson will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future.
Once Jackson's sentence is complete, he will have to register as a sex offender and serve 15 years on supervised release, officials with U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas said in a news release. While under supervised release, his access to children and the Internet will be restricted.
“Young women and girls are not commodities to be sold for the financial benefit of gang members,” U.S. Attorney for SDTX Alamdar Hamdani said in the news release. “We must remain vigilant to combat this problem together. To the victims - please know we have your backs. To the traffickers - you might want to watch your back. To all the others - please look for the signs and call the authorities.”

no vibes just thoughts
probably gonna add more onto this but because I like sharing when I actually at least get started what I've been thinking... 😅
It’s very, very weird - like, they just redid everything.
Lil’ Kim had too much power - as a Black female rapper - over hip hop and pop culture. So, they made Nicki Minaj and launched her onto the scene, in hopes that her over-exaggerated, popcorn raps and fake sexuality would delegitimize and tear apart everything Lil’ Kim had accomplished, and diminishing her to a washed-up, sex-crazed bimbo (“Fuck you say, bitch? Fuck you, pornstar!” Nicki Minaj on her 2012 song, “HOV Lane”).
After Britney Spears had that little breakdown of hers — because (again, like in 2004) she no longer wanted to be her management’s puppet, her dad basically locked her up with that conservatorship, and she was only able to make music within their limits - versus say - making anything like however The Original Doll was going to sound. Meanwhile, the powers that be made a new blonde female pop star—a new almost-robotic “wild card” named Lady Gaga, whom like Britney - seemed very inspired by Madonna (some may say “programmed” to be). The theory that she was something like a replacement for Britney is made even more credible when you know that Gaga’s song, “Telephone” was originally meant for Britney to sing. There’s also a very sinister conspiracy about why that was supposed to be her song, but that’s for another essay…
Besides being a clear white Chris Brown ripoff, and I don’t know how much of a reach this is, but Justin Bieber, along with Lady Gaga were somewhat of a replacement for Micheal Jackson. Not so much what they did specifically in music, no-no — but the level of fame they got - and so much more quickly and unnaturally than Micheal and his peers. Think about it: MJ died/was murdered in 2009, and Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga really popped off in 2009/2010. You don’t find that suspicious??? You don’t find that…suspicious? Haha. But I’m serious; I don’t know why the powers that be needed to replacement some folks, but it’s very clear that’s what they were doing..allegedly.
Then in 2013, (former?) Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande is brought onto the scene via Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, and it is very clear that, along with being reminiscent of another white girl with “soul”: JoJo, she was a younger, whiter version/replacement for Mariah Carey, so I guess Mariah was old enough - or “something”, for the powers that be to see that they “needed” to replace her.
And the thing about all this is, although the 2010 replacement theory is much more on the dark conspiracy spectrum (possibly), the 90s (and before that) isn’t that different form this. Boyz II Men, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Aaliyah, Brandy, and even Monica were taking over the mainstream, so it “seems” that the powers that be didn’t like how blackity black the music scene was (becoming), so they made Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys— and the not-so-successful Jessica Simpson and Mandy Moore as a means to whitewash what Black teen pop was doing.
Britney was Brandy—Sweet southern girl-next-door with low register vocals; had their very own Barbie doll
Christina was Mariah Carey/Whitney Houston, also Brandy, and in a way Monica because she wasn’t as popular as Britney/Brandy and had a much mature sound
Backstreet Boys were a white carbon copy of Boyz II Men for sure
*NSYNC was the same as Backstreet Boys, but also took quite a few things from the less popular boy band Immature
Jessica Simpson, mostly because Mariah’s bitter ex-husband Tommy Mottola was managing her, was a younger, whiter carbon copy of Mariah Carey (whilst also following the immediate blueprint of Britney)

Drake Facing Backlash Over ‘Circo Loco’ Lyrics Allegedly About Megan Thee Stallion
Tumblr media
Drake, Megan Thee Stallion.               Source: Amy Sussman; Aaron J. Thornton / Getty
Megan Thee Stallion responded to Drake’s lyrics on he and 21 Savage’s song “Circo Loco” where he apparently is throwing some jabs at her. On the song, which appears on their new album Her Loss, Drake raps: “This b**** lie ’bout getting shots, but she still a stallion/She don’t even get the joke, but she still smiling.” Later in the song he said: “Shorty say she graduated, she ain’t learn enough/Play your album, track onе, ‘kay, I heard enough.
It’s being speculated that the 6 God is referring to the “Her” rapper’s allegations that Tory Lanez shot her in her foot in July 2020. Since she graduated from Texas Southern Universitywith a bachelor’s degree in health administration and recently released her album Traumanize, it seems like he is coming for the Houston hottie.
Once she saw all the chatter going on, Megan thee Stallion spoke out via Twitter. It seems like she first didn’t believe claims that Drizzy was dissing her.
I know I’m very popular but y’all gotta stop attaching weak a** conspiracy theories in bars to my name lol N***** nor hoes EVER address me or @ me WITH a fact or receipts. I AM CLOUT B**** keep sucking my p****
The Grammy-winning rapper then had choice words for those using her situation for attention and not being sensitive to it. She also told naysayers not to change their tune when facts begin to surface. She and Lanez go to trial in December.
Stop using my shooting for clout b**** a** N*****!. Since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot ! You n***** especially RAP N***** ARE LAME! Ready to boycott bout shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she say one of y’all homeboys abused her.” And when the mf facts come out remember all y’all hoe a** favorite rappers that stood behind a N**** that SHOT A FEMALE. People attack me y’all go up for it , i defend myself now I’m doing too much … every time it never ends and this did NOT happen until I came out and said I got shot … y’all don’t fwm okay cool f*** it bye.

Drake Is Facing Backlash Over These ‘Circo Loco’ Lyrics
Drake hasn’t confirmed or denied these claims but the people aren’t feeling those lyrics either way.
“Started listening to Drake’s album. Was 3 tracks in when I read about the Megan Thee Stallion reference on Twitter. I won’t be finishing the album,” Marc Lamont Hill tweeted. “And please don’t tell me it’s just wordplay… or that it went over my head. I’m very smart. I got it. Doesn’t make it less gross.”
There were also claims that Drizzy was jealous of thee Stallion, leading to him dissing her.
“Drake is clearly jealous of Megan thee Stallion. She’s hot, tall, naturally built in an athletic/built way,” someone else tweeted. “She’s a wordsmith. She also has the love of women. She’s literally everything that Drakecan’t have. He’s pressed and it’s pathetic. He can’t be THE hottie.”
Someone else called out how people are calling for violence against rappers to stop yet it’s allowed against Megan.
“Drake dissing Megan Thee Stallion is abusive,” the tweet read. “People joking abouther allegedly being shot by a rapper is also violent & hypocritical; weren’t y’all just denouncing senseless violence in the industry, regarding Takeoff’s passing? Mentally, I hope Meg feels loved & protected.”
If Drake is truly dissing her, he’s 100% out of line.  What can you possibly gain from being so callous against her? Especially knowing that she has been the target of criticism for coming forward about the alleged shooting. It’s one thing if you don’t like her as a rapper, but to casually joke about her trauma is heartless and an extremely low blow.

Queen of the K-Wang Reigns Supreme 20 Years Later
From her early Florida roots to her global fanbase, Khia, the firebrand rapper and self-proclaimed “Queen of the South,” is celebrating two decades of reign with the re-release of her iconic debut album, “Thug Misses.” Back in 2002, this Southern spitter dropped an atomic bomb on the music scene with her raw lyricism, unapologetic sexuality, and streetwise swagger. Remember “My Neck, My Back (Lick It)?” Yeah, that was Khia, the track that sent shockwaves through radio stations and dance floors alike, forever etching her name in hip-hop history.
But “Thug Misses” wasn't a one-hit wonder. It was a lyrical buffet overflowing with anthems like “The K-Wang,” a celebration of female pleasure that redefined the conversation about women's ownership of their bodies in hip-hop. Tracks like “Don't Trust” and “Jealous Girls” solidified Khia's street cred, proving she could spit venom with the best of them while staying true to her Southern roots.
Now, two decades later, “Thug Misses” is getting a royal makeover. Khia is blessing fans with fresh visuals and electrifying remixes, breathing new life into these timeless classics. It's a testament to the enduring power of her music, which transcended trends and resonated with a generation of women hungry for unapologetic self-expression.
Khia's influence stretches far beyond catchy hooks and chart-topping singles. She paved the way for a new wave of female rappers who weren't afraid to own their sexuality and challenge the male-dominated norms of hip-hop. From Nicki Minaj to Cardi B, the echoes of Khia's lyrical fire can be heard in the verses of today's hottest stars.
Tumblr media
In 2002, Khia, a sassy Southern firecracker from Tampa Bay, unleashed her debut album “Thug Misses” on the world. A potent cocktail of dirty rap, Southern hip hop, and hardcore rhymes, the album exploded onto the scene with unapologetic lyrics, infectious beats, and a raw authenticity that resonated with audiences hungry for something different. But beyond the surface swagger, “Thug Misses” was an album brimming with depth, tackling themes of female empowerment, street life, and the complexities of relationships. Twenty years on, Khia isn't just revisiting her past; she's reclaiming it, reimagining it, and using it to pave the way for a new generation of female rebels. “Thug Misses 20 Year Anniversary” isn't just an album; it's a declaration.
Her cultural impact is undeniable. From the sultry, self-assured “Thug Miss” to the brash, unapologetic “My Neck, My Back (Lick It),” Khia's music has been a sonic middle finger to double standards and a celebration of female agency. She's embraced the Southern crunk sound, experimented with pop melodies, and even dabbled in reggae, constantly pushing boundaries while staying true to her raw, unfiltered voice. Let's dive into some of the standout tracks that cemented Khia's status as a force to be reckoned with.
Khia's Own “K-Wang”: Forget the Macarena, make way for the K-Wang!! This playful, confident anthem celebrates the self-made dance craze Khia birthed in the Tampa club scene. The track pulsates with a bouncy beat, punctuated by Khia's sassy rhymes and infectious laughter. It's a celebration of owning your moves, your space, and your fun – a testament to Khia's unapologetic self-expression.
youtube
Don't Trust the Charm: Beneath the swagger, Khia packs a punch with cautionary tales like “Don't Trust.” Featuring fellow Tampa rapper DSD, the song warns women against the seductive yet deceptive charms of manipulative men. The lyrics are raw and unflinching, detailing the emotional and physical scars left by betrayal. “Don't Trust” became an anthem for women (and men) seeking strength and wisdom in the face of deceit, proving that Khia wasn't afraid to tackle tough topics.
youtube
“My Neck, My Back (Lick It)” The Song That Launched a Career: It's impossible to talk about “Thug Misses” without mentioning the elephant (or rather, the neck) in the room. “My Neck, My Back (Lick It)” became Khia's signature tune, a catchy, explicit ode to pleasure that ignited controversy and propelled her into the mainstream. Written in a mere 15 minutes, the song's boldness and unapologetic embrace of female sexuality sparked conversations, divided critics, and ultimately became a cultural phenomenon. Whether loved or loathed, “My Neck, My Back” cemented Khia's status as a provocateur and a voice for unapologetic female desire.
youtube
Jealous Girls Ain't Got No Time: But Khia wasn't just about sex and sass. “Jealous Girls” is a defiant track that takes aim at the haters and critics who tried to bring her down. Over a fierce, pulsating beat, Khia spits fire, celebrating her own success and loyalty to her friends and fans. The song is a testament to her resilience and self-confidence, a reminder that she wasn't afraid to stand her ground and own her space.
youtube
“Thug Misses” was more than just a debut album; it was a cultural moment. Khia's raw talent, unapologetic lyrics, and catchy beats carved a space for a new kind of female rapper – one who wasn't afraid to be bold, brash, and brutally honest. With each standout track, she challenged expectations, sparked conversations, and proved that Southern hip hop had a fierce new voice. Let Khia's “Thug Misses” remind you that sometimes, the most powerful music comes from the most unexpected places.
But beyond the music, Khia's visuals are a statement. In a world where female rappers are often forced into cookie-cutter molds, Khia stands tall, refusing to be tamed. Her videos are a riot of individuality, a celebration of her Southern roots, her love for independence, and her unwavering confidence in her own skin. They're a middle finger to anyone who tries to box her in, a reminder that Khia is, and always has been, the definition of “on her own terms.”
Back with her latest record “Body” the seasoned veteran makes another steppers anthem to keep you moving all throughout the night, but infuses her signature sound into the mix making. A true treat for those who’ve stuck around for the long and bumpy ride to look forward to more music beyond the horizon.
youtube
So, raise a glass (or a spiked seltzer, as Khia might prefer) to the Queen of the K-Wang. Twenty years on, “Thug Misses” is still a sonic masterpiece, a reminder that Khia's presence is far from over. A testament to the lyrical legacy she continues to build, one fiery verse at a time.
Khia, one of the undisputed “Queens of the South,” isn't one to rest on her laurels. Twenty years after the audacious, expletive-laced firecracker that was her debut album, Thug Misses, she's back, not with a greatest hits package, but with a full-blown sonic and visual reinvention. “Thug Misses 20 Year Anniversary” isn't just a remastered trip down memory lane; it's a vibrant celebration of Khia's enduring legacy, introducing her raw rhymes and unapologetic swagger to a whole new generation.
But Khia's legacy goes beyond catchy hooks and infectious beats. She's a lyrical pioneer who paved the way for women to own their sexuality in hip-hop. Before Cardi B's anthems and Saweetie's confident declarations, Khia was boldly rapping about pleasure, desire, and owning her body on her own terms. Her influence is evident in the music of artists like City Girls and Sexyy Red, who carry the torch of unapologetic femininity with pride.
The echoes of Khia's impact extend beyond hip-hop. Pop icons like Miley Cyrus and Janet Jackson have acknowledged work, her raw energy and lyrical prowess. Even Trick Daddy, a figure known for his own brand of braggadociousness, found common ground with Khia on their collaborative track “Jump On It.”
youtube
However Khia's journey hasn't been without its thorns. Beefs, lawsuits, label issues, and online drama have peppered her career. Yet, she's navigated these challenges with the same fiery spirit that defines her music. She's refused to be silenced, unapologetically defending herself and her artistic vision.
Khia's story is one of resilience, of carving a space for unapologetic femininity in a male-dominated genre. She's a trailblazer who deserves her rightful place in the hip-hop pantheon. Her music has inspired countless women, not only to express themselves freely, but to demand respect and recognition on their own terms.
So next time you hear a confident female rapper owning her sexuality, a hint of Khia's fire might be flickering within. Remember, the Thug Misses helped paved the way.

Gangsta Boo Dead at 43, Believed to be Drug Overdose
Memphis legend Gangsta Boo tragically died on Sunday (Jan 1) just after celebrating New Years' Eve in her hometown. A Stunning Update Gangsta Boo, real name Lola Mitchell, was a standout member of Three 6 Mafia and a pioneer in female rap. The 43-year-old was found dead on her front porch around 4 pm, Jan 1. Sources close to Gangsta Boo personally are now claiming the cause of death to be drug-related. An update from TMZ yesterday is only adding to the talk of an overdose. According to their report, Mitchell was attending a NYE concert with her brother the previous night. At some point, the man overdosed and was rushed to the hospital. Luckily her sibling recovered, but the same can’t be said for Gangsta Boo. It appears the New Years' celebration continued at Boo's home, where she eventually suffered from some kind of medical emergency. Sources in contact with TMZ insist that narcotics were found on her upon police arrival. In addition to this, fentanyl is believed to be a factor in her sudden passing. Nonetheless, an official autopsy has yet to be conducted or released at this time. Showing Respect to Gangsta Boo The ‘Throw It Up’ artist was confirmed dead by her friend and former labelmate DJ Paul on Instagram. The Three 6 Mafia alumni posted a captionless photo of Boo with an outpouring of rap industry icons showing love in the comments. Rap heavyweights like Ludacris, Lil Jon, Big Boi, and Paul Wall left their condolences for one of the brightest stars to come out of Memphis.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by DJ Paul K.O.M. Three 6 Mafia (@djpaulkom) Gangsta Boo is primarily known for being one of the only female members of Three 6 Mafia. The group emerged during a time when female rappers were already few and far in between. Despite this,  she always held her own off and on the track. Gangsta Boo, along with DJ Paul, Juicy J, La Chat, Project Pat, Crunchy Black, and several others, formed Three 6 Mafia in the early '90s and quickly began gaining notoriety throughout the south with their debut album Mystic Stylez. Overnight this turned to national acclaim with the group's breakout hit 'Tear Da Club Up' and 'Late Night Tip'. All of this culminated in a groundbreaking achievement in 2006 when Three 6 Mafia became the first hip-hop group to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song with ‘It's Hard out Here for a Pimp’. That record, and the hit movie Hustle n Flow from which it originated, helped bring the group into a huge spotlight. An Artist All Her Own Of course, Gangsta Boo's legacy extends outside of Three 6 Mafia. Before leaving the group in the early 2000s, her solo music had already gained praise and respect from her peers. Namely, ‘Where Dem Dollas at’, ‘Love Don’t Live’, and ‘Nasty Trick’ effectively made Boo one to watch out for amongst her male peers. She continued to drop albums throughout the 2000s and into the 2010s, including Enquiring Minds Il - The Soap Opera, 4 da Hood, Witch, and Underground Cassette Tape Music, Vol. 1 and 2. During all this, Boo racked up countless features with rap's biggest names like Outkast, TI, and Gucci Mane. Most often, she would collaborate with Killer Mike of Run The Jewels and close friend La Chat. Gangsta Boo never stopped making music, right up until her death. Just last year she collaborated with Glorilla and Latto on ‘FTCU’ and perfectly matched both the southern hitmakers' energy. And that’s no coincidence. The confidence, boldness, and rough flow coined by Gangsta Boo and other Memphis rappers in the 90s served as a massive inspiration for the female artists that followed. With so many successful female MCs recently coming from down south, Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, Glorilla, and Flo Milli just to name a few, it’s safe to say Gangsta Boos's legacy will always carry on. Not to mention remaining members of Three 6 Mafia like La Chat, Juicy J and DJ Paul using social media to carry a torch for their late friend.
