Something I noticed binge watching the black sitcoms is by the late 2000s, there was a sudden, weird battle-of-the-sexes type shit happening…

One On One, especially if not only in *that* season, and of course, The Game. Speaking of the latter, I feel Girlfriends already was showing signs of this (along with just showcasing horrible female friendships), which is why Living Single is the superior show lol

Extremely unpopular opinion, I don't think My Wife and Kids is very fun to watch anymore. I think it can be really funny at times, I think the family has really good chemistry, and I think the acting is really good, ESPECIALLY the parents. But the casual bigotry that bleeds in and isn't called out is absolutely Ghoulish to watch present day. I find it very uncomfortable watching Michael be weird and neurotic about the future of his daughter's love life when she's literally like... 5. I don't like how casually misogynistic he is. TBH Damon Wayans is just TOO good at acting cuz whenever he starts acting like an Ass it feels so real I wanna reach through my TV and slap him LMAO. It honestly surprises me that more people don't call out the weird gross misogyny in older shows like My Wife and Kids or Moesha because if it wasn't obvious then it's VERY fucking obvious now. I don't get how people don't feel gross when it happens unless they're either ignorant, have their brains turned off, or just don't understand the different forms of misogyny/misgynoir.
