an extract from an article published by the Middle East Eye, authored by Jonathan Cook (a/Jonathan_K_Cook on twitter) :
A handful of Israeli whistleblowers have revealed that Palestinians are incarcerated for weeks on end in Israel's secretive prison Sde Teiman as they are tortured – both through formal interrogations and through the conditions they are held in.
They are forced to sit blindfolded outdoors on a thin mattress through the desert heat of the day and sleep in the cold of the desert night. Continuously cuffed, they are forced to remain motionless and silent. At night, dogs are set on them. Anyone who speaks or moves risks being savagely beaten till bones are broken.
People’s hands and legs are tightly zip-tied for so long that, according to the report, some have needed limbs amputated.
As one Israeli whistleblower recounted to CNN, none of these abuses are about intelligence gathering. “They were done out of revenge,” he admitted. The inmates are punching bags for the Israeli soldiers and guards.
But this is about more than simple vengeance. Understanding what is happening at Sde Teiman provides a clearer picture of what is happening on a far bigger, even more industrial scale in the torture chamber of Gaza.
Especially revealing are the conditions in a field hospital at the detention camp, housing Palestinians either maimed in Israel’s savage destruction of Gaza or injured by beatings from Israeli soldiers.
They are handcuffed to gurneys in row after row, blindfolded and naked apart from an adult nappy.
They are not allowed to speak. There they lie day after day, night after night, in a state of utter sensory deprivation, with nothing to distract from their wounds and pain. In the midst of this, Israeli medical interns can use their exposed, vulnerable flesh as a canvas for experimentation.
According to one whistleblower, the detention centre has quickly gained a reputation for being “a paradise for interns”.
There, they are allowed to use Palestinians as little more than lab rats and encouraged to carry out medical procedures they are not qualified to perform.
A whistleblower told CNN: “I was asked to learn how to do things on the patients, performing minor medical procedures that are totally outside my expertise.”
Such procedures were frequently done without anaesthesia. Unlike doctors in Gaza, Israeli doctors have ready access to painkillers. It is a choice not to use them.

Just one example of why there can absolutely be no coexistence with these monstrous colonisers.

the shrine of saint sarah in the church of the saintes-maries-de-la-mer in in the camargue in france. the church itself was built in the 9th century and named for and dedicated to the three marys. a popular french legend goes that they and their maid, sarah, landed on a camargue coast.
saint sarah, or sarah-e-kali (sarah the black, “the black” is a title sometimes given to black/dark-skinned saints) in romani, is the patron saint of roma people in latin catholicism, though she isn't recognized by the catholic church. she is also revered as a protector for marginalized and poor people in general. her origins are thought to lie in a syncretization of the hindu goddess kali, the story of sarah along with the three marys, and the tradition of black madonnas. (christian roma have historically venerated other black madonnas as well.) the church is her major shrine - she's venerated here annually on the 24th of may by roma pilgrims.

A French journalist, Ariane Lavrilleux, was arrested and taken in police custody. Her crime? Revealing that France was involved in the death of hundreds of civilians in Egypt under the cover of “fighting against terrorism”.
The article said that French soldiers did warn their hierarchy multiple times about the fact that the majority of the victims were civilians and those report and warning did reach the presidential palace but they chose to not do anything. France therefore became an accomplice of crimes against humanity. After the article an investigation was open and on Monday morning two US based Egyptian organization sued France for involvement in a crime against humanity and torture. On Tuesday at 6 am she was taken into custody by the DGSI and her home was searched. They let her out on Wednesday at around 8-9 pm. They got her out by the back door on purpose so the journalist and people protesting in front of the precinct wouldn’t be able to talk with her.
The government refuses to address the issue.
France is falling into fascism more and more under everyone’s nose. They are giving a history class to everyone who once said “I don’t understand why people didn’t see the sign and didn’t stop the rise of fascism/white supremacy”.

Hey people!
I'm in a good ( at least better than usual) mood today so I though I could share a bit of my dear region's traditions about spring and palm sunday.
Palm sunday is called Le dimanche des Rameaux, that's almost the same thing but it sounds more elegant and means branches sunday litteraly. We celebrate it around the country but my region offers a slightly funnier twist to it with la Cornuelle and la Pine de Barbezieux.
La Cornuelle is a pastry in shape of a triangle with a hole in the middle. And the hole is made to put the blessed branch ( le rameau) in it. I guess you understood what this triangle was supposed to mean now...
Tumblr media
2. La Pine de Barbezieux is another pastry, a bit like an eclair but in a very very distinctive shape... And full of whipped cream ( Chantilly here)
Tumblr media
And before you ask, no you can't put the second one in the first one, it's a bit too big.
Anyways, hope you liked this less known side of France.

as of this very moment, a lethal massacre is unfolding in the UNRWA logistics base in Tal Al-Sultan, western part of Rafah, against displaced Palestinians. the apartheid entity's aircrafts shelled several tents, which has resulted in numerous martyrs.
many remain stuck under the flames and debris from the carpet bombardment.
it is worth noting that this location was classified by the occupation’s forces as a humanitarian shelter, and civilians were coerced into evacuating into this area.

When I tell you beaches are better in the South West of France, this is what I'm talking about. Endless stretch of sand. You can walk along it, it connects several small towns.
I spent every single summer on this beach until I was 16. It changed a lot but the memories are still there.
This is La Franqui, Aude department (picture taken in 2020 when I was hiking from a nearby town to there, along the coast.)
