You've probably been asked this before but, if Strive were to have a guest character from any and I mean any media be it game, anime, or even..movie ect. Who'd you want it to be? My own choice this may be ridiculous but, someone from Digimon Specifiically Beelzemon.
Guilty Gear is a pretty long-standing fighting game series... so a lot of things over the years might mesh well with it:
God Eater, Code Vein, Vampire Hunter D, Monster Hunter, etc. even Bioboosted Armor Guyver gets an honorable mention...
But... I think the one character that Ishiwatari would want to add to the roster the most would have to be:
DARK SHNEIDER... from BASTARD!!
There's several underlying reasons for it... and he's already voiced his strong opinions on the series' influence on his game series.
As for myself... hmm... who would I want?
Much as I love Guts from Berserk, I'm not sure he'd be a good fit.
Nightmare from Soul Calibur??? Not quite it either.
Even Jack Garland from Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin would be a crazy pick from me...
...Possibly even Haruko Haruhara from FLCL would be the more "organic" choice (but we already have I-No).
I'm also a huge fan of Yoshitora Tokugawa from Samurai Shodown... but I don't think he hits the right notes for this tune of an idea...
Nope... I think... of all the characters that would be best suited... my choice would have to be:
RAGNA=THE=BLOODEDGE.
Now, I know what you're thinking... BlazBlue: it's already a famous ARC System Works game... and GGvsBB has always been a dream crossover.
That's NOT IT, though!!!
Ragna represents the "other side" of Ishiwatari's history developing fighting games... and showcasing another "possibility" in Guilty Gear's realm would impress not only the current GG Strive fanbase, but also pay homage to one of Ishiwatari's oldest friends: Toshimichi Mori!
Ishiwatari and Mori have been working together for years, so even if Mori retired, they would still do things together off and on. And BlazBlue's music was one of those projects.
Hence why I think Ragna is a special case... he represents all the possibility that these two creators shared and put their heads together on as friends and also, Ragna embodies Hard Rock and Heavy Metal with his "Rebellion" just as much as Sol Badguy and other GG characters do!
//So, I've been playing Soul Calibur 6 again as of recent, and decided to take some liberties with the character customization to have a little fun!//
//Of course, here, we have both of the Mario Bros! They look a bit odd today...maybe it's their clothes?//
//We also have Starlette, who seems to be rocking a fancy dress, this time around! How cool of her!//
//And here, we have Shiro, who looks like she's finally finished that new mechanical gauntlet of hers. Probably can't wear it to school, but hey, it looks cool.//
//As for some guest entries, we have Saya from @moonlitsorceress ! Looking as stylish as ever!//
//And for the last entry for this post, we have Karma from @bxd-kxrma ! Looking awesome there, buddy!//
Playing video games most of the day yesterday with my gf cause my hrt period pains made it too difficult to move a lot honestly was one of the best days i had in a while.
However...its given me time to think about the games we played.
Ridge Racer 4/RR in general handles so poorly...but god is it fun/one of the best composed game series ever.
Soul Calibur 2 fucks me up cause of how UNGODLY amazing soul calibur is yet this is the same game that had Link and S P A W N...as guest characters.
One of your opponents is him:
And then your next opponent( if you have a modded emulated version) is h i m:
And then playing crash bandicoot. It still kills me howmuch 90s comics and games swore so much to being like "WERE TOO EXTREME FOR YOU. THIS IS A BOYZ GAME ONLY!! THIS IS SO RADICAL ITLL MELT YOUR FACE OFF!"
and the 90s character you play as looks like this:
Soulcalibur V is a 3D historical-fantasy weapon-based fighting game developed by Project Soul and published by Namco Bandai for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on January 31, 2012. The sixth main entry in the Soul series, Soulcalibur V takes place seventeen years after the events of Soulcalibur IV and features the children of prominent series heroine Sophitia Alexandra as the main protagonists (Patroklos and Pyrrha). Along with descendants and students of some of the retired fighters from the series (such as Taki's protege Natsu and Xianghua's daughter Leixia), the game introduces new fighters (including fortune teller Viola and mysterious werewolf Z.W.E.I.). Like most of the previous games in the series, Soulcalibur V includes a non-canonical guest fighter. For this entry, the guest is Ezio Auditore da Firenze from the Assassin's Creed series. Players can also unlock the moveset of Devil Jin from the Tekken series for use in the character creation system.
So Soul Calibur 2 is a fighting game for GCN, Ps2, and Xbox. Link (from the Legend of Zelda) was in the CGN version. And the other two games has their own guest characters. Fast forward years later and a few modders released "Soul Calibur 2 Plus" which allows you to play as all 3 guest characters in one game.
Cool right? But here is the catch! We got the character's movements, voice lines and intros but not the actual character models! So I'm asking around to see if any modders know know how to mod/work with these type of files. vmg, vmx, and vmp. (It has to be these files!)
If you know how to work with these files or know someone who does, then please reply to this thread, and I will send you an invite link to the discord. We need help to get the proper character models (which are Spawn and Heiheichi) into the Mod. Thank you for your time.
Annon-Guy: I know collabs are nothing new to the original GranBlue Fantasy, but what do you think of 2B from Nier: Automata being a playable guest character in GranBlue Fantasy Versus Rising?
P.S. Lucillius, Vane and Beatrix are also being added too.
I'd be more eager to see the cast of Tales of Destiny make an appearance (even if they have been guests in Granblue before...), Tales of Berseria would also be a good choice.
And actually there's a handful of characters from other older RPGs I'd like to see pop-up as well, like Ryudo from Grandia 2, or characters from Alundra, Breath of Fire, and so on...
2B already got a major debut in Soul Calibur 6 in case you didn't know that already... so she's pretty popular still.
I had solitary reasons for liking GBFVSR, but adding 2B is also a fun choice.
