i feel like an incredible hater for this but i feel as i get older the more my tolerance for shipping decreases. like i went from an avid enjoyer to just tolerating ship art to now getting outright upset and fighting the urge to curse every time i see shipping content (this doesnt apply to my mutuals and friends who ship things because they can do no wrong ever)
#idk why it boils my blood like that. like genuinely it makes my online enjoyment really take a steep nosedive since 99.9% of any fandom-#content is shipping#maybe its the hater in me. maybe its the aroace tendencies in me. maybe im just antisocial and disagreeable. idk!#like shipping isnt morally bad or anything it just makes me so sad. idk#like ppl always prioritize romance over friendship and make fun of friendships as if they arent gay enough or smth and it rlly hurts me. id#like idk how to say it. everyone can have fun and stuff but it rlly makes me feel like im having fun wrong bc shipping looks fun but i cant#stomach it. like i miss having fun like that but i cant stand it anymore#like friendships r so devalued and even in frienship is magic type media friendships STILL take a backseat like whats up with that#like i hope this isnt coming across like a “i hate romance! i hate love!” kind of post but more so a why dont ppl focus on characters if -#they cant be romantically involved?#like i will alwaayyss be bitter abt willow from toh getting sidelined until she could be shipped with hunter like that pissed me off so bad#but like ur fave characters cant stand alone they neeeed to be romantically involved with someone for their love or dedication to be real#like love and dedication cant be genuine unless theyre romantically or sexually attracted? idk man#talking abt this is tricky bc u can fall into anti-sex/conservative rhetoric with this but i hope u can understand what im saying#like sex is great and romantic love is great but i wish the greater public would just have some freedom to explore concepts of dedication-#and trust that go beyond that framework. like there was a comment on reddit that framed aroace as the nonbinary of relationships and I-#thought that was really neat. yeah

VERY NICE TO MEET YOU I AM OBSESSED WITH HAMLET 2000. my friend and I put it on on a 3 am whim intending to make fun of it but the further in we got the more we were turning to each other like "wait is this good? is this actually good though?? holy shit?? why does this go off?"
#some may argue that the blockbuster scenes or the faxing or the painfully 90s outfits date this movie but I#enlightened#am here to argue it was actually ahead of its time.#its time hasn’t happened yet or anything ofc but it Will come#hamlet#ask#every day I think about his stupid fucking hat.#also that uncomfortably long shot in 1.2 of hamlet and claudius talking reflected fuzzily in the half rolled down car window while a#sharply in focus gertrude beams up at them over the rim.. like. she's so....#+ the commitment to utter unaesthetic-ness: hamlet’s super cluttered depression apartment & cars honking on the new york street#& 4.3 in the LAUNDROMAT— ham 2000 is the 2d production I've seen where hamlet kisses claudius after 'man and wife is one flesh''#a concept I like a lot more than the traditional gertrude kiss bc it's kinda in line w how he's been fucking with claudius the entire scene#(though ethan hawke kisses them BOTH. a choice I am OBSESSED with. get it I guess)#as a pretty subdued unenergetic hamlet I def wouldnt say its my fave performance but there are like. so many fascinating choices#the action movie motif.. the airplane motif.. biker horatio.. marcellus as his girlfriend who's just silently in the bg for all of act 5??#also BILL MURRAY POLONIUS and actually all the ophelia stuff was such a Take.#that intensely uncomfortable scene with the king & queen where hes telling them about her relationship with hamlet as she slowly wanders#along the edge of the pool... it's SO visceral like that's. that's exactly how being a kid feels.#no agency.. your parents telling people your personal shit while youre just There. and zoning out to cope#anyway I'm tired but so much abt the framing & symbolism is so oddly compelling I can't go through all of it#a lot of it I just didnt know what to think of too loll like setting the ros & guil scene in the club....#them having to yell to be heard over the music is such a specific and awkward vibe as to be intriguing#but also they cut the most interesting part of that scene lol I was disappointed#+ they cut the gravedigger which is.. in line with how little they showed hamlet's sense of humour and odd bursts of energy and such :(#but anyway it's undeniably a fun watch with a friend#I'm definitely forgetting some stuff there was a Lot

- Iron Fan being a badass (we don’t see enough of that)
- Red Son and Mei.
- Mei solo-ing a fight
- Sandy taking MK to his therapist (this can be offscreen)
- A few more seconds of Sandy “going back to his old ways”
- Pigsy badmouthing his past self
- Tang attempting to go vegetarian
- Wukong (and maybe Macaque) being forced to confront their pasts
- Any moments of Bai He characterization and interactions
- Seeing what happened to the Mayor after LBD’s death
- FLASHBACKS GALORE

THIS IS YOUR FAULT FOR MAKING ME THINK ABOUT TRANSFORMERS AGAIN its one of my favourite franchises bc there are really NOT MANY characters who i am neutral on or dont like. ive singled out dozens of tf characters over the years to be the fave for a bit and rotated them in my brain for a few months, its actually easier to list the characters that i dont like than the ones i do. i do have some favs but theres stil like. 10 that i couldnt choose between. probably soundwave, sunstreaker, ratchet, vortex, deathsaurs, tracks, steeljaw (rid), spinister (idw), perceptor, fort max, skywarp, thATS MORE THAN 10 ALREADY BUT U GET IT
i actually have 5-6 a4 notebooks just FULL of transformers drawings, little comics of g1 episodes and character designs and stuff, its all from a few years ago before i started digital art but i should really redraw some of it bc ill never get tired of transformers.
and actually, i was wondering what to draw today so MAYBE some transformers stuff. i loved g1 for how absolutely insane it was, ive never seen a show with so many lines said like jokes that were just. not jokes and usually made GENUINELY no sense. not sure i ever laughed at a joke in that show but i do remember being in literal tears over animation errors, wild lines, weird noises, and plotlines that make no sense whatsoever. do not watch g1 with hopes of getting it, but i do watch it to laugh at the show itself
#there ARE characters i dont like but then its USUALLY mostly fandom interpretation#like i love g1 starscream but did not like secretly super selfless super smart super 'sassy' way hes sometimes portrayed in fandom#in my opinion you need to let him be genuinely a little dumb he cant win every argument i didnt like windblade comics starscream that much#him being secretly a super good leader for all of cybertron kind of contradicts nearly every piece of canon on him and it felt kinda ooc#i can see why a lot of ppl liked it bc it was very in line with hard done to fanon starscream and if thats what you enjoy then massive w#i have nothing against that but considering canon starscream it felt very ooc to me but i also wasnt invested enough in the storyline#-at the time for it to annoy me or anything#i also didnt really like rodimus or first aid but i just think first aid is a lil boring#and i just didnt like how the narrative framed rodimus in mtmte he was objectively kind of a bad leader and he DIDNT really improve#but i dont think any of this ruined the atory for me and thats pretty much it for negative controversial tf opionions#p much every other character i like or REALLY like#i blow up soundwave in my mind in every single franchise i love him#tfa bee was my first favorite transformer tho bc like AS AN UNDIAGNOSED EXTREMLEY ADHD KID I WAS LIKE 'MOOD'#i loved prime but i legit refused to accept anything bad happened to breakdown he was one of my faves#and i think i will redraw some of my older tf comics now#man i had a bunch of prime designs for different characters like jazz and sunny and sides i might revamp#ask#hi sorry ik u asked but this was so much SDRFGHDSH

Just experienced season 17 of Red vs Blue for the first time after taking a break from the fandom. Wash and Carolina killed me emotionally. I hope they're happy together after the dust settles ;-;

I want to trust these Stargirl writers/directors with hournite and more specifically Beth but I just don't. Every time I get excited I have to temper it with the knowledge of how this show has historically treated this character. I'm hoping my anxiety is all for nothing but I just feel unsafe putting my trust in them until I see at least the first few eps. It doesn't help that we know nothing about Beth's storyline outside of the parent thing which isn't a frenemy tease as everyone else has.
that's fair anon!! although im definitely not the person to ask to give a nuanced take on this, i will say im going to try to remain optimistic and hope that anj has gotten some control/input into beth's storyline this season and i hope we really get to see her shine on her own and outside of just hournite
