REP YO HOOD
I wonder what it’s like to be proud of where you came from. I’m talking in the geographical sense. Listening to Rafael Casal’s music and following him on twitter (obsessively yes I admit it) and seeing his love for the Bay area got me thinking about where I grew up and the connections I have (or lack there of) to the area.
Its not about family. It’s a deep seeded love for where you come from, the culture of the area and the nuances of the people that live there. It’s possible that I don’t have that strong connection because So.ILL is a cultural wasteland where ignorance and racism run rampant. It’s hard to feel love for a place that you don’t belong. I was always too smart, too ambitious, and too unwilling to be complacent with community college-then-marriage-then babies.
Maybe that’s the trick. Where you come from shapes you, whether it forms around you or you break its mold.

OKOKOK I’LL GIVE MY OPIMIOMS ON SOME OF THEM,
mob is fuckin obvious, i love him. Even though it seems at times he’s being way to nice and passive, i dont rly question bc i think despite that hes got pretty good judgement. Its also nice seeing him be supported by other characters in smal ways :o) like by the body improvment club, and his brother, like is fills me with happiness seeng him being able to form his own friendships and not JUST relying on reigen for company. Also i think out of the characters, he’s definantly the one i relate to, the most. it especially hit me during that episode with the lol cult. Hearing the dude flat out tell him he was emotionless and to get a clue felt like someone punched me in the back. Theres also other smaller moments like when he was spacing off lookin at the bug as reigen was fuckin yelling at him, that rly made me go ‘omg me <3′. i probably have super basic taste for this but mob is definantly my favorite character
SPEAKING OF,, i very much hated reigen at first, he seemed rly bothersome and ignorant to me, (also you spamming pictures of him literallly just standing there every fucking day also may have contributed towards that hatred /lh) and i didnt rly see much appeal to his character other than haha funny man, but ig after seeing him actually interact with mob throughout the series and act as a father figure towards him rly made me warm up to him, what rly made me like him alot better was the episode where they were supposed to exorcize the family haunting the house. seeing him actually THINK about why mob was hesitant and understanding that bc of how mob sees things exorcizing the family that, wasn’t doing anything, felt wrong and wouldve made him feel terrible, and not making him do it was, rly nice.
