Do you have any hopes for chapter 31 in DBD, any particular characters you'd like to see in the game?

Imma be so real with you, I haven't kept up to date with DBD at all since Cage dropped and only picked it back up for a bit to play the Child's Play chapter :/ I haven't necessarily lost interest, just kinda hyperfixating on other media atm, so all I know is stuff from people complaining about the game on Twitter LMFAO

Uh idk if the new Chapter is supposed to be original or not??? Uh either way, I'll share my thoughts lol

Original character wise, I would like to see more monstrous killers even though they aren't really my vibe. It'd just be nice to add more variety! I absolutely would love to see some survivors with different aesthetics as well, like give us a full on goth or punk character, BHVR!

I have a few Original chapter ideas myself as well, but they're either purely just for fun OC shenanigans that I keep putting off designing, or just stereotypical lmfao. Like holy shit I'd LOVVVEEE to see a Pirate killer holy shittttt <333

Licensed, tho? Erm you can defo disagree with this, but I genuinely do think FNAF would be funny as SHIT, like pls lemme run from Springtrap while playin as Michael I would eat that UPPPP!!! Idk a lot of horror media outside of what's also in DBD, but I've heard the Evil Dead is really good (own it, have yet to play it), Another Saw chapter would be cool as well methinks. Idk, my favorite horror movie is the Visit, which I don't think would make for a very good Chapter LMFAOOO

I don't personally have any hopes for Original chapters at this point tbh,,, The last three were all disappointing in their own ways (I will die on my Skullmerchent lore rewrite istg I'm saving her from that game she deserves better,,, absolute mother dont @ me, also Thalita is my wife), so its kinda hard to look foward to new content? I LOVE Cage a lot, his perks really spiced up gameplay for me, and from what little I've played as and against Chucky, I do like him as well, but idk, a good couple of characters out of however many we got last year </3 Kinda rough

What's the vibe? #8

A short one today.

We wish for world peace! A missile has landed in Poland which is not good. FTX (a Binance competitor) has gone bust. Binance also sponsored Primavera Sound Festival this year.

This seems pretty basic findings to say that some people are trying to avoid the algorithmic ways of consuming right now. Another mystery luxury box provider which I think is an interesting concept.

One of my new favourite writers on the internet is Rian Phin - I feel very late to this but they're really good at explaining about personal style. Personal style is probably the best thing we as a society should encourage, not only on the commodification side of things (which yuck, I can't believe I thought of that) but sustainability reasons. Rian in one of their videos talks about why people don't want to develop their own aesthetic - basically safety in numbers - and how much comfort an aesthetic community provides even if there's no risk taking involved.

This also connects to popularity amongst the most niche things - MUBI, NTS, Criterion Collection - and maybe a great things for local businesses who encourage this? I'm thinking local cinemas, smaller boutiques?

Just on this note also - in 2007 Dana Thomas did this lecture at Google based on her book How Luxury Lost it's Luster and the points that she makes are very similar (pre/kissing recession culture).

dark/light academia series

just a few series i think fit the aesthetic, in no particular order. btw, i don’t like all of them but tastes differ and you might!

penny dreadful (2014): a horror series with 4 seasons as of right now, it has basically every classic story jumbled up into one (ex. dorian gray, frankenstein, dracula, etc. are characters in the show). personally, i don’t like it because it felt like they were just mashing things together and hoping for the best ?? very convoluted.

what we do in the shadows (2019): one of my all time favorites, its a mockumentary that follows 3 vampires basically just going about their night i guess ? but its in modern day new york. i recommend watching the movie (the 2014 one) first, it follows a different set of vampires. a great thing to watch if you want a break from intense shows and just wanna laugh.

picnic at hanging rock (2018): based off the movie that was made in 1975. its about a group of girls in a small boarding school, they go on a picnic and a few of the girls disappear into hanging rock without a trace, it has a very mysterious vibe to it and i would recommend watching the movie too. unfortunately this show is only a season long but they get bonus points for wlw characters! there are so few in dark academia movies/series/books

dracula (2020): the netflix one, its pretty good honestly, i wish it was longer, but its only 3 (very long) episodes. if you already know how the story goes, its basically that, except with a bunch of twists. sister agatha is a wonderful character, i enjoyed every line of dialogue she had.

the order (2019): an absolute shitshow. only watch if you’re incredibly bored, out of options and wanna laugh at very bad acting. it has all the things i hate: forced romance, shitty acting skills, plot holes, confusion, and stereotypical characters. basically, the main character, jack, gets a scholarship to a specific uni so he can try and join a certain secret magic society to avenge the death of his mom. also of course there are werewolves.

jekyll (2007): unfortunately i haven’t watched this one yet but it has good ratings so i’m assuming it isn’t bad?? it’s 1 season long, and it follows the only descendent of mr. jekyll as he tries to protect his wife and children from his dark side. he isn’t aware of an ancient organization that watches his every move.

peaky blinders (2013): so i didn’t watch more than a few episodes of this show but people in the dark academia community have mentioned it a few times, and i thought i’d add it. its 5 seasons long and about a criminal gang set in Birmingham in 1919. it isn’t historically accurate, but its pretty nice to binge watch. it has vintage vibes and a strong plot.

black sails (2014): haven’t watched this one either but its pirates so :D its set in 1715 and centers on the tales of the “most feared and most brilliant” captain flint. the events of this 4 seasons long series are 20 years prior to the events in the classic novel “treasure island”.

hannibal (2013): i had to leave the best for last. this show is everything. pretentiousness? melodrama? melancholy? mystery? murder? classical music? fine cuisine? high class culture? AESTHETIC?? gothic style romance? crime? clever details that i still miss even after rewatching the whole thing 4 times over? tragic ending of a story that was doomed from the start? just,, yes. (ps. this one also has a wlw couple with a child!)

okay i know i’m leaving out so so so many but i can’t think of any others atm :( anyways, enjoy! i can make a part 2 if you liked this

[ he is a very, very minor NPC that i’ve essentially wrested from the game with my grubby hands; Gerson is a merchant NPC found in Waterfall, the third area of the game focused with water themes. he has less than 100 lines of dialogue (but jam-packed full of info) and doesn’t even have an overworld sprite. although noted to have a history with multiple major characters, it’s not often i’ve seen him be the main focus of any fanfics or art pieces. ]

[ i personally believe that Gerson is a strong and potentially powerful monster with fighting capability that could rival some of the stronger Monsters in the Underground due to his background as a fighter during the Human-Monster War, but since has waned in both reputation and fighting skill. we never fight him in game and as such, will never see how he compares numerically, but it’s clear from his dialogue that he knows how to fight professionally/cleverly and would have given a hard challenge. ]

Are they underrated? YES / NO / IDK. [ i mentioned before that Gerson has ties with lots of major characters - I hardly see it being put into action or talked about! i also have a soft spot for elder/older characters in general since they seem to be overlooked in favor for younger characters that carry the action of plots - which I understand and totally get, but I still like to put these characters out there for the sake of it ]

[ he was a funny merchant dude that said “wahaha” a whole bunch of times and carried a magnifying glass; sure he and Frisk would have been good friends after the golden ending but most people have forgotten about their interaction with Gerson once out of Waterfall ]

Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO. [ as one of the older if not oldest Monsters in the Underground, or from his reputation as the “Hammer of Justice” from wartime. he is also a historian and is noted to have written a few of the books in the Librarby. definitely known in the Underground, but probably only in that community ]

How’s their reputation? GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. [ as mentioned before, a benefactor to the community and maybe even a sagely figure. a source of wisdom (even if cheeky) and a person of stability ]

How strictly do you follow canon? — ehhhhhhhhhh both extremely canon compliant and then hands off the wheel, let jesus drive me away~ i only have so much canon material to work with so i have milked as much as offered to me, then went off to forge my own path in order to patch up the missing holes then add a few sprinkles. the base of the character is all there, but if you really want to get invested with him (or me) then we have a lot to walk through.

What inspired you to rp your muse? — funfact: Gerson is my first tumblr RP muse ever, and since i was worried about duplicate anxiety when i first started i specifically wrote him since he was a smaller character with less attention - i’ve since learned i have no anxiety about it so it’s no longer a problem, but what keeps me going today is the challenge of writing someone so different from me. the elder aesthetic along with homely, almost cottagecore kind of vibe is also appealing, and the humor that comes with gerson is a joy to write out.

What keeps your inspiration going? — reading literature, music, artwork, pinterest, replaying the game, and doing little hobbies that would embody the character (collecting or sewing, for example) are things i can do by myself, but with other people i have the most drive when i can have friendly and nonpersonal arguments/debates about character motives or about source material like what made a character act like this or that, or about really anything as long as it makes me seriously think about characters critically and force me to recognize flaws.

[ i always believed my style and my skill in not only PSDs or aesthetics, but analysis or understanding was always a bit plain, without much flourish or complexity. while that is appealing on its own and has its own merits, i can’t help but feel i can always push myself to do a little more, add a little flavor, or paint an image that could only be done in writing. although i am doing enough to get the job done, i’m searching for a certain voice of writing that i like and want to integrate into creative writing in order to make it more personalized and more engaging. ]

[ i despise pussyfooting and will often tell ppl straight up if i have a problem with them or something about them; straightforwardness, honesty, and integrity are some of my core values and that includes being harsh if it comes to it in order to keep order ]

Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal? — assuming it’s rooted in goodwill or from a point of analysis, absolutely! it’s one of the direct sources for growth and getting better at any craft, but as Tumblr loves to be.... jumpy, i’m always cautious when its not from someone i know.

Do you like questions, which help you explore your character? — YEA BUDDYYYYY

If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why? — absolutely, i thrive off friendly discourse as i mentioned.

If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it? — if we don’t discuss it as above, in lit any other case i’d say “well there are other blogs to follow” but since i’m like 99% sure i’m the only gerson blog that isn’t applicable lmao; the point still stands that everyone has the freedom to write a character as they wish. there are valid reasons to dislike a portayal but not a lot of valid reasons to attack someone for it - with the exception of ppl being gross. stop that, nasty.

If someone really hates your character, how do you take it? — strangely. it’s not my job to make people like a character, you either like them or not. if you dislike them for unreasonable points then, to leave in the previous response, “clowns will be clowns, no matter what you do. I just don’t get why you would follow someone if you hate their character to begin with.”

Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors? — of course, as long as it’s polite and all that jazz!

Do you think you are easy going as a mun? — depends on the meaning - i like making new friends and i find it easy to talk to new people, be it about roleplay or other things like organizing video game play sessions. however, i also have on multiple occasions have approached ppl privately saying “this is annoying/this is problematic/this is inappropriate, stop” and been met with general disdain for voicing such so Who Knows..... (tm). at least on a private level. here, publicly, i’m pretty relaxed! memes and jokes are abound. as long as a person can be mature and responsible for their actions we can vibe, yo.

hey, i'm tea (like the beverage). i'm in my early 20’s, and i live in midwestern USA so my timezone is central. i roleplay exclusively through email. i’ve tried other mediums and they just don’t stick for me. there will be an ooc thread for plotting/planning/talking and an rp thread for the actual roleplay. my ads never fully format properly after i submit them so i’m sorry if some stuff bleeds together or if there are huge blocks of text.

for the rp itself, well. i’m looking for a small array of things, so i figured i’d make an ad as a catch-all instead of doing something like one ad per request. i will only do oc/oc romance, and i only do m// and/or f//.

i’m currently looking to roleplay ocs in the following universes: fallout, percy jackson, harvest moon, and atla/lok. and for a purely original setting, apocalypse/post-apocalypse (zombies are good in my book! i like ‘em with a creative twist, though) or horror romcoms.

style; ☆third person. ☆past tense. ☆novel or multi-paragraph; i can snap out four paragraphs or 20, usually novel but like i can work w/ anything. ☆good handle on grammar, maybe some spelling errors if i’m responding from my phone. i’m very relaxed with typing OOC as u can tell but i go all out with actual writing, don’t worry.

characters; ☆varied in personality and backstory, i usually make new ones for rps but sometimes a character sticks with me. ☆i can handle various roles at once; side characters or recurring roles aside from mains are welcome. ☆doubling or tripling is alright. ☆i don’t use FC’s and prefer written descriptions, but i’m a hoe for pinterest and moodboards and use that for character references. i’m super into aesthetics. ☆i get attached to our characters so i’m into talking about them and making content. expect me making pinboards or drawing things or sending u vines/songs and being like “this is them.”

PERCY JACKSON;*** i never read heroes of olympus or any other riordan book beside the original PJO books. BUT i love the original series so that will be my focus. for the plot, i don’t have anything, but i’ve seen a couple ads floating around with some interesting plot bunnies? so anything is good! there is one proposal i’ve seen around that i think would be really fun, which is ocs in pjo in another time period. what can i say, the combination demigod/mythology + aesthetics from the 18th or 19th century just gets to me, i’m rlly into it atm! dashing adventures on cobblestone streets and deadly weapons hidden in skirts and tucked into the lining of carriages. PLUS U CANNOT DENY HOW PERIOD PINING KILLS U… brushing pinkies… longing gazes… i’m so down. but any time period to be honest, from ancient greece BCE to modern day. i’ve got a couple plot ideas + character ideas i’d like to try out so i’m ready when u are. some pairings ideas: ☆big three demigod/extremely minor demigod kid ☆demigod/satyr or spirit ☆demigod/someone who can see through the mist ☆demigods with a parental rivalry ☆BEST FRIENDS bro CHB is like. peak best friends to lovers scenario

STORY OF SEASONS/HARVEST MOON; alright, this one is pretty different. this would be very video game-like: heart events, character gift preferences, festival events, the whole nine yards. i have a couple of ideas for a town setting, but mostly i’d like to make one with my partner:

☆fantasy-based, like rune factory. along with humans, there could be dwarves, elves, mermaids/mermen, selkies, magic-users… maybe a shape-shifting dragon ☆supernatural-based, maybe a halloweentown vibe? or something more sinister. along with humans, there could be vampires, werewolves, demons, witches, ghosts, et cetera. ☆pokemon-based. instead of regular farm animals, they’re pokemon! miltank, combee, mareep, sudowoodo, et cetera. this could be suuuuper cute and fun. ☆LOZ-based, in hyrule. there could be hylians, rito, zora, et cetera.

A:TLA/LOK;** i’d prefer something set either before a:tla or after lok with our own avatar and group. could be fun and interesting to explore and make our own story. i have an idea for an avatar just because i’ve been thinking of avatar in general but i really don’t have a preference for the role so lmk if you’d rather play it. i also have a few little plot ideas, depending on what the timeline we shoot for is. ☆avatar/bender helping them master an element ☆avatar/non-bender ☆airbender/firebender ☆any/any!

APOCALYPSE/POST-APOCALYPSE;*** what can i say? every once in a while, i get bitten by the apocalypse bug. i’m used to doing post-apocalypse, where people are living on in the world after it’s ravaged, with it being the only world they’ve ever known. which is fun! but i’m also down for a current apocalypse, where people live their daily lives and are forced to adjust to the world following a catastrophic event. i’ll be honest, i prefer this genre with some sort of monster. usually zombie and I KNOW they’re overrated and everywhere ok but it’s a classic. i’m into zombies mostly in the vein of tlou or have a more creative twist but i’m cool with any. and that said, doesn’t have to be zombies! i’d love to do an apocalyptic rp with a different monster, from the supernatural to the paranormal to the extraterrestrial. a character being immune to whatever’s going down would be fun too.

HORROR/SUPERNATURAL ROMCOM; i prefer horror-comedy like the addams family with quirky horror stuff, so i’m not looking too much for anything genuinely frightening (but that could be super fun too! lmk how u feel). accidentally summoning a demon, someone accidentally selling their soul, vampires who have only been vampires for like a year, horribly unlucky witches, people investigating mysterious supernatural happenings in their town, roadtrips to hell, stuff like that. any and everything is good, my options are beyond open. also in general i prefer human/non-human pairings, so anything along those lines in a setting like this will work. werewolves, demons, vampires, witches, send them all my way.

I'm fucked.... I need thoughts please

I caught feelings for someone I know and sucked his dick too. We’ve been friends for almost a year now but a few months in I started thinking that I wanted to be more then friends. I confronted him with my feelings and he didn’t reciprocate them. After like a couple weeks things settled back into the regular rhythm and the feelings had gone mostly. Around December though when I thought everything was over, we were hanging out at his house for I think the first or second time. I had known we had similar likes and interests before, but actually being in his space I realized we had so many more in common, and at the same or greater level. Near the end of it he needed to change and do something, and he left the door wide open, and I’m sitting there like “I really want to look, but at the same time I need to respect his privacy.” I pointed it out after he was done that he left it wide open and he was like “oh, I know.” At this point my mind is thinking “uuuummmm…did he leave that open for me to look, or am I just imagining this???” So then after I packed my stuff, he walked me out to my car, we conversed a little bit and I must have said something like “oh I wish we could have done something a little more”(in a nonsexual innocent way (because we just watched movies all day)). BUTTT he replied with “yea, we both wanted to do a little more.” At this point in my head I’m like: “whaaaaat. thefuckdoyoumean. by that?????”

Jumping forward now a couple more months, I had gone through some life changes to where I was focused on other things like finding a job and a new place to stay. Once life came together I started to think about him again, but he was on vacation in another state so I couldn’t see him for weeks. However once he had gotten back I took the first chance I could, which happened to be at a doctor’s office right next to my work because he had gotten sick. So like the idiot I am, I waiting at the doctors office as a surprise in case he needed anything for being sick. He comes out and the vibes are totally weird at this point. I ask him about his trip but he isn’t really talking much, so we awkwardly part ways.

Moving forward again to a couple weeks ago, i out of the blue ask to hangout and he accepts. Things are different this time though for both of us. We catch up and even though he says life things aren’t the greatest atm, he is warm and nice to be around in a way that is shifted from normal. I had to leave because of next day responsibilities, but we hugged and told me to text him when I got home. After this I invited him for a night out on the 4th of July thinking it could be a fun time to get out and also spend some quality monuments together. It ended up not happening though because he was having a #depression day, which I totally understand. I expressed my intentions and a little bit of sadness, but then he said he wanted to make it up to me on Friday with an adventure, and I said yes.

Okay so Friday came right and the whole time I was at work I couldn’t wait to drive over afterwards. 6:30 rolls around and I get there 20 mins later and stroll the fuck up lookin and feelin cute as hell. I ask what we’re doing and neither of us has a clue, so we start watching Little Shop of Horrors. During this time I start getting in my own head and work up the courage to ask him what he meant way back in December. Neither of us remembered exactly what was said because it had been 7+ months ago, however it did prompt a discussion about attraction and if sex would ruin the friendship. He had stated that it could happen and never be spoken about again, make the relationship reeeeally awkward, or could potentially strengthen and improve the relationship, but he usually likes to keep friends and sex separate. At this point my anxiety was building so I didn’t continue the conversation, but something happened when he went to change some laundry and my mind said fuck it. I had told him point blank “*points to pants* Hey I won’t have the courage to do this in a few minutes but I wanna suck ya dick.” I think this took both of us a little of guard, but he smiled, laughed a little bit, and gurl when he walked out from behind the counter he was full-on tenting! He accepted and I was just shocked that it even worked, like I didn’t know what I was expecting to happen. So we go to his room and he’s bein all cute and a little shy like “we don’t have to do this today if you don’t want” or “we’ll go at your speed, I don’t want to make you do anything uncomfortable.” All this time I’m like, no I’m good, this is happening. I pull his pants down, and the D is like…. so aesthetically pleasing and big, but not too big. I start sucking him off and it is soooo enjoyable for me and him. After the deed is did we go back to watching the movie like normal friends, we talk about it, and eventually come to the conclusion that I can happen again. Movie ends, he hugs me goodbye and tells me to get home safe and to message him when I do.

I know the deed happened but i’m not sure in his mind, if it is opening the door for a deeper relationship, or if it is just a fwb situation. I feel like the signals I get from him are mixed and I can’t quite figure out how he is feeling like I can with most people, which honestly scares me because there is a possibility we aren’t on the same page at all.

Am I just really lonely and imagining something more, or is this something that could actually happen?? I don’t know and its driving me insane, plus my anxiety and depression aren’t helping either. I don’t want to tell anyone I know in real life, because their view is ofc going to be skewed in my favor, of they’ll say I need to chill out. Y'all are the only people i’ve told this story to, so if you want to weigh in, please do. Help me out here.
