It's been more than 20 years and for some reason I feel that Gosho hasn't given Kaiao any development, how can more than 20 years pass and Aoko dynamics, relationship and feelings remain the same? At this point I feel like Gosho is just going to make them date because "they already liked each other" they remain in the same status quo

Hey, if we go by DC romance progress, they've been going too fast. We've already had suspicion of identity chapters, and that didn't happen until more than 400 chapters in DC. /j

Since heists have taken over any character development recently, I don't even know if Kaito and Aoko will even get any romantic progress. Maybe the actual identity confrontation will happen down the line, since that's thief drama, but atm, it really wouldn't surprise me if they only ask each other on a real date at the very end of the manga.

Like. I'm sure Gosho would love to make MK a love drama as well, but he writes MK so rarely, and usually as hype for something Kid related in other media. So the MK stories tend to be heavy on drama that can only take place at Kid heists. (To the point that the new chapters just. Use Kid as the plot device to show off a new character. Even Hakuba's never gotten so much 'look at this character being a detective' treatment in MK.)

-sighs- I just feel bad for MK as a series at this point. I like the characters, I like the general story idea, but. It's been going down a very steep hill with Gosho wanting things exciting, but not wanting any real progress in. Anything. But unlike old MK, the new stories aren't even nice standalone setpieces of story, they're... mundane. They could be high stakes, if you purely look at the scenarios on paper, but. We all know nothing's gonna happen to Kid. Nothing even happens to him when the actual bad guys show up, much less one-time antagonists.

We need actual character focus and development, not heist drama. Badly. Not even romance, though that'd be a nice change. Just any character expansion of our limited cast of characters. Gosho wants big, all the time, meaningless big stuff, when small would be so nice.

I like that the Nancy Drew fandom is small because there was never really any drama and it has that close-knit vibe but I think the ONE thing we miss out on then is in a bigger fandom there might be more people tapping into random corners of the show

Honestly, I'd personally love to see D2 take some breaks. Maybe have 2-3 years between expansions with, instead of seasonal content, smaller permanent content drops (alongside our few annual special events) between. It would mean longer without brand new content, but it would also mean the new content could be more expansive, more polished, and hopefully devs having even better working conditions. Obviously the "MORE ALL THE TIME MORE MORE MORE" crowd would never survive that, but it's sort of what's needed if they want better content. (But also I suspect the only way D2 could do that would be if they swapped to a sub model, and I don't see that happening. It also wouldn't work great if they kept their FOMO model alongside a sub model, vs what some other games do where you can sub and unsub as desired and won't miss out on important story, lore, etc. content)

Same, I would really love more time between content too. I don't personally mind seasons, but I think seasons should be longer or have more time between them. Definitely fewer seasons per year.

But yeah, it would need some massive changes to how the game works, how content is managed, what players can expect and so on. Historically Destiny gamers have been quite annoyed by any longer waits between content drops which is probably partially what inspired the seasonal model. And any normal player is often oversaturated with this model as it is now, but the same people who complained before are complaining now as well. So there's no winning here with the Gamers (TM).

They did announce some changes post-TFS that they'll tell us about during the showcase so we'll probably get some insight into how things will go after. I assume there will be some changes to this model. I hope they go for more breaks and longer dev cycles.

for all my grievances with tangled the series, one thing i cannot criticize them for is their songs, i mean, sure, not all of them make sense in context (let me make you proud comes to mind), the songs are spectacular, from the vocals to the instrumental, all of them are a joy to listen to, whether they are just incredibly goofy, like the buddy song, to heartbreaking, like waiting in the wings, whether its a solo, a duet or a group, they are wonderful to listen to

Another unpopular favorite of mine--I love these two together (mostly b/c their supports made me like Priscilla while her supports with Raven were...off putting..?) I've never gotten such a tragic ending card for a couple before (how are ya'll doing Felix/Lysithea fans?) and I'm going to deny their ending card reality b/c he promised he'd return and so it's canon he did :p

Anyway, this was the last couple pairing I drew at the time--I'll eventually finish off my Blazing Blade pairs or just continue straight into Sacred Stones b/c I'm nearly done with my first playthrough (Eirika route) and I have feelings

I know that it's probably the case that all magatamas have the same ability but there is a scene where Phoenix has to demomstrate to Maya what it actually does which led me to believe that a magatama's power manifests in relation to the person it belongs to. Because the psyche-locks fit Phoenix SO much. Phoenix is a wonderful protagonists with many qualities but one that has always fascniated me is his secretiveness. And no this is NOT something that starts with aa4 Phoenix, it's there from the beginning. In aa1 he keeps his former friendship with Edgeworth, his whole REASON for becoming a defense attorney from Maya, presumably never told Mia either. In aa2 he refuses to tell her about Edgeworth's "death", outright shuts down the entire conversation. And then of course in Bridge to the Turnabout he tells no one of his relationship with Dahlia/Iris, deliberately seeks her out but tells no one about it. Of course aa4 really dials this up to eleven.

(Side note, I never understood why people felt like he was a victim of "character assination" because of his Beanix Persona. His crypticness dates back to the trilogy and even though I will admit that it was probably not an intentional character trait I DO like that they really leaned into the way they characterized him, even if it was "accidental")

He is generally very cryptic in that game, does not reveal his intention in Turnabout Trump or Succession to Apollo and even keeps the secret of Trucy's and Apollo's mother from them.

So how poetic would it be if the magatama was a manifestation of one's greatest flaw or weakness turned into a power. The Turnabout Terror, notorious for bluffing, an undedeated Poker Champion for 7 years, clutching his own secrets tightly to his chest but dragging them out of people. Breaking locks while many more form around him. It's brilliant.

Now that there is no question about it - the homemade version of the story is way more interesting and fun than what we got in "canon" - I kind of want to get myself a few of these and put this alternate reality on display.

i wish there was something like ship names but for platonic relationships. like ao3 at least has the A&B relationship type but i wish i could just type a platonic ship name into the tumblr search bar and find content (assuming said content has been made bc sometimes platonic relationships don't get nearly as much attention as romantic ones)
