The craziest thing about the Wild West is that many of the prominent figures who spent their prime years crossing between both sides of the law, rustling cattle, shooting people in broad daylight, bounty hunting, robbing stagecoaches, gambling, scamming and swindling etc. just got out of the game and died peacefully in their own bed at age 80. It was the same with pirates in the golden age of piracy. If you didn’t die violently, you just retired and started living like a normal civilian. Imagine your 75 year old grandma telling you about how she used to seduce and rob lone men on the Oregon trail. Your grandpa calculating how many people he killed in bar fights and coming to the conclusion it was upwards of 30. The law was not equipped to investigate and prosecute every criminal in the west so if you left the game, there was often this uneasy truce.

Au in which the elves, or at least legolas and thranduil and such, don’t treat Gandalf like an old man, and more like an age mate(?).

Listen, we all know that gandalf isn’t actually an old man, that he’s a maia in disguise, but bc he take the form of an old man, people treat him in such a way you would treat an old man.

It really fucks with people’s perception, even the ones who know he’s not an old man in the traditional sense can’t help but treat him like an elderly person.

Except the elves, well, some of them.

Imagine legolas just mindlessly throwing supplies at gandalf during the quest the way he would at a fellow soldier and the rest of the questers feeling like there’s something distinctly not right about treating gandalf in a manner similar to a middle aged adult, but also knowing that gandalf is not actually an old man.

Legolas teasing and ribbing gandalf in such a way that’s not like mentor/mentee / adult/child, etc. But more like a pair of warriors on a scouting mission and it fucks with everyone else’s perception of reality so much because yes, but also no?!??

Just legolas treating gandalf less like the old man he pretends to be (and the minor god he is) and more like a same aged fellow warrior and it’s messing with everyone who has to witness it.

bless the headcanons that fit perfectly within the context of the plot and the characters, and had to be created because of blatant character assassination in some scenes.

at the show i worked last nite there was a woman with a SAD MUSIC FOR HORNY PEOPLE t shirt and im having a really fun time guessing what band that could be merch for

Claw's "Awakening Experiments", are basically labs where non-espers undergo a lot of "physical and mental stress" in order to awaken latent psychic powers, while they're based on actual facts as psychics do awaken under stress ( ex: Ritsu. ), the experiments were described as not only capable of breaking the mind, but also so painful that it could kill.

At some point a rumor spread across the Claw divisions about an "Awakened Child", shocking the cadres with the fact that a kid have survived the excruciating awakening procedures and sending them into dreadful gossip about his strength. But it's all rumors after all, and the kid is just Shou & he is a natural born esper and he has no clue who started making assumptions about him & the source of his strength as an esper who isn't "a Scar" among Claw's ranks and is very much capable of taking out several Scars in battle if needs be.

The rumor, however, comes to an advantage at times, helping Shou establish an upper hand in intimidating the Claw cadres into submission in wherever the branch he's supposed to visit to carry out his father's orders. So Shou ends up not saying anything against it to anyone outside of his lackeys and close cycle, and outside of the Claw HQ where Shou's identity is very clear to everyone as the Boss' son, no one really knows the truth.
