We in the west got this belief of “it only works if I get immediate pain relief” na na na sister you’re trying to harness the power without understanding and respect, who are you, the cowboy from Nope? Crystals and herbs and oils and sounds are all either symbols or beings of their own, and you gotta ask them to share space with you. You don’t throw a piece of obsidian into the candle like a golf ball and burn the tower card and say “ayo I’m ready to be transformed let’s get moldavite crazy up in here” absolutely not. You want these energies to work with you, not for you. We’re all part of this.
Separate the concept of “what role you think a deity is supposed to play in your life” from “here’s the energy I’m feeling rn” like goddamn I thought goddess worship would be chill and femme and sapphic honey absolutely not this shit’s intense sometimes
You are every aspect of your craft. If there’s a concept you have, it’s what that concept means to you. Love and peace and abundance have a specific meaning to you, and you don’t have to follow other people’s Pinterest boards and tiktoks.
Stay grounded. You may be a certified Angel soul with a rainbow aura, but you still are here to live a human life on earth.
I literally don’t know what your craft looks like. You may feel you’re “a better/worse witch than somebody else” like man idk what you know and see, but I know what I’ve seen and felt and I know what it means to me. Nobody can take that away from me, and we should compare in the spirit of love and respect, not competition. We are first graders getting hyped up at a talent show, where every act is more exciting than the rest. We are not your honors English class.
None of this goes for things with hard rules (leave the fae alone if you don’t know what you’re doing), cultures you’re not a part of (leave Santería and all other closed practices alone if it’s not yours to practice), or magic done with the intention to harm (curses). I don’t understand these things and don’t pretend to, I just respect, and there should always be things you don’t understand and respect.

Queer as Folk (2005) is always and forever going to be at the top of my recommendations for queer media. Genuinely such a subversive and transformative piece of art considering the themes, when it was created, etc.
Shameless: Even though Ian and Mickey aren't THE focus of the show, they play a significant enough role that their journey truly feels like a journey. Watching them discover themselves and discover each other is soooo ... like that's that GOOD shit. And eleven seasons of it !!! hot damn !!!
Shadowhunters: If I think about Malec too long, I WILL cry. When I think about a Queer ship being handled with such tender, intimate love and care, I immediately think of them.
Bros: Here's the thing, this movie never made waves on this website but I watched it because of Luke MacFarlane and I ended up sobbing into my pillow at 1am. Yes, parts of it were very much so over the top, Homosexuality for Straight People 101 kind of dialogue choices, but watching a grown man struggle with his sexuality but not in the "oh no i'm gay" kind of way, just like "i'm gay but i'm not LOUD about it" was very soothing and healing. It makes me choked up even now. I'm not a fan of Billy Eichner mostly because I don't like noise and he is Loud, but god. that movie. yeah. yeah that movie !! whew.
I'm sure there are more but that's all I can think of rn !!!

Last song: Tiresias song snippet by Jorge Rivera-Herrans. I heard this in a tmnt animatic and have been obsessed ever since.
Currently reading: I haven't been reading any books actually. If i read anything nowadays it's usually fic.
Current fic: I have so many fics open rn it's not even funny but the one that's captured my attention recently is we'll meet again, soon by @chiangyorange! I'm almost done with it and it's been so good so far!!! There's been some really funny moments that have made me die with laughter.
Currently watching: Ahsoka has captured my attention but while I'm waiting for the next episode it's a mix of Rebels, tmnt (mainly rise and 2012 but I've also been watching the 2003 iteration lately!), or whatever old fixation crosses my mind (like Transformers or Fairy Tail)
Next on watchlist: I've actually been thinking about giving One Piece a try! With all the hype of the new live action is getting it's kind of making me want to watch the anime. Though before I got back into tmnt I had planned on rewatching D. Gray-Man after I finished Fairy Tail so maybe I'll watch that.
Current obsession: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! More specifically Rise of tmnt (and even more specifically the Cass' Apocalyptic Series by @somerandomdudelmao. The comic is what got me back into rottmnt ☺️) but i also really like the 2012 iteration and I recently got to see the new movie, Mutant Mayhem! I've also been letting the 2003 iteration play in the background as I'm sewing or crocheting because it's easy to follow along with even if I'm not paying close attention. Honestly all the fics I have open rn are for tmnt.

hyped up 02 was a blast!!!!! here’s an absurdly long liveblog post lol:
i think the biggest thing i noticed was how much cleaner the character animations were!!!! like, there were a lot less excessive movements for the sake of making the characters move and they geared movement to actually suit the characters more!!!!
AND THE INSTRUMENTAL ARRANGEMENTS ON THE SONGS WERE REALLY COOL
something that was sending me the entire time all 18 rapping boys were on stage was how saburo had to like duck into eyesight lol he’s too short to be behind both ichiro and juto like that lmao
during hangout, we had bb and mtc on stage for their two verse ofc and bb were going hard dancing to mtc’s verses like SAME bros lol
the first group of mcs were rosho, gentaro, ichiro, rio, jakurai and hitoya and yes hitoya was grumpy for the majority of it lol
i felt so bad for rosho tho lmao!!!!! he got stuck next to gentaro and gentaro made sure to troll the everloving fck out of him!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭
rosho was feeling nervous like usual and gentaro was ramping up to give him likely terrible advice lol but rio the king interrupted him (gencha was miffed lmao) and suggested gaining hype from the crowd and the six of them had the crowd raise their lights at their call
so ichiro: alright!!! let’s see that buster bros red!!!!!
the crowd: *raises their light wands changed to red*
and each person did that for their team

Asuka was born in Germany, but Germany's a big country and she lives in Tokyo-3 for most of her screentime, so…yeah.
Asuka is arguably the most recognizable character in this bracket, rivaled only by the likes of Naruto Uzamaki and Link; writing a profile feels almost redundant. But it would be unfair to just not give her anything, and I'd probably piss her off.
Asuka is one of the iconic tsunderes, (usually) girls who act abrasive towards the protagonist before falling in love. But Asuka is so much more than that. She has the standard NGE tragic backstory, which left her with a nasty mix of personal issues; she hates relying on other people, she wants to be praised and loved by them, she's offputtingly vain and prideful, because she's terrified of not living up to her hype, she's pinned practically her entire identity on being an Evangelion pilot.
And the entire series just hammers at all of Asuka's weak points. She's proud of being a teenaged college graduate, then she flunks her high school classes because she can barely read Japanese. She's stuck in an apartment with some of her least people. And of course, she's a child soldier fighting an apocalyptic alien threat, in Neon Genesis Evangelion.
But you probably knew that already. So does Tumblr; what do they have to say about Asuka?

Transformers: Cyberverse Review (2/2)
So I finally watched cyberverse and figured I'd kill two birds with one stone and do my review while I was at it instead of having to rewatch it later. This ended up being so much longer than I expected and I tried to look back over it to the best of my ability but I wrote these directly after finishing each season so at some very odd hours of the day if anything is worded weirdly sorry about that. Please keep in mind this is my opinion and you might not agree:)
Season 3:
Lemme start this off by saying I was so excited to see G1-Esque Laserbeak again but the absolute BUTCHERING of my boy drifts character. I was so sad dude, let him have his redemption arc:( plus Hot Rod, Cheetor, and Shockwave dying?! Not even right. I also lied because episode 5 of this season is the most confusing thing I’ve ever seen. I am so completely lost. How is Hot Rod back? What is even happening? Is that squid thing a Quintessons? Two of which were partially answered. Next episode we find out what happened with Hot Rod and you’ll notice one great detail here that was missing from season 2 THEY EXPLAIN WHAT WAS GOING ON.
So far the pacing feels a lot better even if the random time skip is a bit odd, BUT WIRL IS HERE AND HE’S GREAT. STUNTICONS well Stunticon, Dead End is great, I love his design even though I had no idea it was him at first. I don’t know if Hot Rod's voice actor had a cold or something while they were recording this but he was just constantly whispering and it made it so hard to take him seriously bc he’d be yelling somebodies name and it just sounded so flat. I didn’t think I’d like Perceptor at first but I ended up liking him a lot, Soundwave as always was great. I figure I’ll have a soft spot for this version for a long time, now if they’d just let him have all his cassettes back.
As of episode 12, Skywarp has been name-dropped once, and while I think I know which one she is she hasn’t been introduced yet and I’m on my hands and knees absolutely begging rn PLEASE let us have Skywarp. SPOILER ALERT SHE NEVER SAYS ANYTHING. I am devastated, Skywarp has got to be one of my favorite characters so every time I hear his name mentioned anywhere near a show or movie I get straight giddy bc we see Skywarp less than TC which honestly is a feat so you can imagine how sad I was when after being name-dropped AS THE COMMANDER she doesn’t get a single voice line. Finally, get TC and Warp and have them ripped away. L. In other news, have I mentioned that Starscream’s upgrades are the goofiest yet? Because they are. Judge Starscream has got to be the single worst thing to come out of any piece of transformers media like ever.
When I tell you I gasped when Megatron admitted he mistreated Starscream, never in a million years did I see that coming. I mean part of it is that Screamer got power-hungry, that his ambitions were too large, that he went a little crazy along the way, but part of it was that he was hurt. Does that excuse him deciding his entire world needed to be destroyed? No definitely not. I feel a character study coming along, but this isn’t the time or place so instead, I’LL TELL YOU HOW HYPED I WAS TO SEE ASTROTRAIN AND THE INSECTICONS. Hey, I’ll let you guess which faction is my favorite lol. The rest of this season is straight goofy and it’s mostly filler. Wild Wild Wheel, in particular, is one I want to touch on. It’s surprising how often the media does this but, as hurt as I know I’d be if I was left behind by my team I feel like you’d also have to realize well it’s war and casualties are in abundance. Someone goes missing and you usually have to assume they’re dead. The last episode was a bit weird but it was alright. In the end, this season wasn't bad at all but I do wish they'd cut it off at episode 18 and said the rest was season 4 or something. 7/10
Season 4:
This season was weird and I loved it and hated it. The first episode was great but the second one dude I’m so sad. I wish Astrotrain had more screen time I feel like he could have been a super cool character but alas he’s the 207th Decepticon gone. They killed the entirety of high command I was clinging to Soundwave and they VAPORIZED HIM. The way he went out was so sick but man you could have let us have at least one.
Now to the actual review part. I loved the Dinobots it was a different take on their story and I liked it. Letting them be an actual combiner was cool but Soundblaster destroying literal planets over a beatbox competition is the funniest thing I’ve ever witnessed in my life. The story flowed pretty well honestly, though I almost immediately knew what they were doing when Tarn showed up. The look my mom gave when I screamed “IS THAT TARN?!” was great but I did NOT expect the Megatron bashing they had him do lol. It’s a little hard to compare this season with the others because it's so different but I liked it, it was enjoyable. 6.5/10
How my system works:
When I do these reviews I base them on a couple of things 1.) What made it different 2.) How enjoyable is it 3.) How’s the plot, pacing, character designs, etc? So while I might really like a character there’s still a chance I’ll dock points because they didn’t just create a new character altogether instead of just stealing a name.
What makes it different?
Most of the changes they made were good. I loved 90% of the design changes, I even really liked the way they used the plot and what we already know from the original story. As confusing as our initial time skip is, it's not hard to fill in the blanks with any other continuities time on earth. So we skip the stuff we already know and instead get new stuff, which kept me interested! However, this part could have been really hard to understand for new viewers. Their approach to the Quintessons was a tad weird but it worked so I’m not complaining. 7.5/10
How enjoyable is it?
It was pretty good. I liked it and despite them killing off half the characters I liked I never felt like throwing my phone down and not watching anymore. It kept me interested and for the most part, it wasn't way too easy to guess exactly what was gonna happen. The number of characters they’d name-drop just to never use physically hurt me and sometimes I’d get frustrated with how they used certain characters or how they set something up or their weird time skips but so I’d pause it, get up to grab some water or something and get right back to it. Which for me is pretty good. 6.5/10
How’s the plot?
Despite the plotholes, the plot was good. They made it different but close enough I’d still be able to tell it's Transformers if they took away the name. Sometimes the way they won *cough* cybertroniansunitething *cough* was odd but all in all, it's fine. I thought the parade loop was creative and interesting to watch. The apocalypse part was honestly my favorite but I wish Hot Rod's frustration led to something. You win some you lose some ig. 6.5/10
How was the pacing?
The pacing was ok in most episodes. (I’m looking at you Sea of Tranquility) They managed to bring back the absolute mess I feared season 2 would be so I’m giving them points for that. Again the time skips can be weird but close to every episode BUT SEA OF TRANQUILITY THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE did a pretty good job closing up those gaps for us. 6/10
How were the character designs?
I’ve already partially touched on this but it usually needs its own section so without further ado. Two-thirds of Starscream’s upgrades are the worst, most terrible horrifying things and I hate them with a burning passion. His original design however I liked and his voice actor did a great job. I liked almost everyone's designs until the Allspark got involved EXCEPT FOR JETFIRE whose design was just ok. I’m just kinda sad he wasn’t our gentle giant. That and he was really annoying, sorry anybody who liked him. 8/10
Overall: I think I have more conflicting feelings over this show than I do Micheal Bay's first TMNT movie, except its none of the low expectations or nostalgia and all mild confusion. This show is… weird, it was interesting and enjoyable despite Hasbro's never-ending fear of new characters. They took an old premise and made it new even if I can never forgive them for Judge Starscream, they kept the character designs reminiscent of G1 but still kept them fresh and I really liked it. I wish they used the Titans and Insecticons more or expanded on the multiverse part and it could have been interesting to see some of the other combiners. They might have had plans to use some of that before the show got canceled but we’ll never know.

As a kiwi I'm coming in here to set everything es mind at ease by saying I saw that headline, then saw it was from the Herald, and went lol. No NZ news outlet should be considered a good source of F1 news they literally know nothing about it and have zero sources because we don't send anyone to the races. In addition, the NZ Herald is just generally a terrible publication that's well known for its bias and inaccuracies. They took one look at a potential clickbait headline because NZ patriotism and ran with it. The person who wrote it probably doesn't even know what downforce is.
i feel like people are just Sayinf Things about danny recently like ive seen so many random things and rumours about him in the past week including people thinking he was already disqualified from aus gp 2024 because he exceeded max fuel allowance at the last gp and it told me literally DAYS to find where people were getting this from and it was an article about how he got a dsq 10 YEARS AGO . tabloid and social media especially in tandem is such a shitty place to pick up any fact for anything bc people will hear any minor thing and run with it until the misinformation becomes so bad it’s transformed into a supposedly confirmed conspiracy nothing even remotely like the vague comment that started it all . idk i think daniel is prime target rn bc he’s been underperforming despite all the hype around him being a contender for red bull and the comments he made about the horner situation surely didn’t help

i think the hardest thing about watching the new PJO show is that I'm realizing that this isn't really the adaptation that I expected.
Frankly, the show is fine. Literally. The only thing that is saving this show's ass at this point is that they casted the characters really well. I really hate the fact that I'm saying this but the show is mid. And yes the show isn't done yet but it is mid.
Honestly I realized it too late but the PJO series would have worked best as a film series, not a television series. The first movie by Fox? (Am never, ever, acknowledging the second one) Pretty much its only actual crime was trying to squeeze the lightning thief into two hours. And so far it's a better adaptation of the energy and pace that the lightning thief novel actually has. (That movie failed in characterization by a lot but I'm going for energy and pace here)
Really, the pjo tv show is really throwing off my groove rn because in universe the world's very ass is at stake here and it's cutting its pace into bite sized chunks it is killing the energy.
I've always believed that the pjo series should have been a film series and the the tv show is proving me right. Personally they should have taken notes from Michael Bay and made four hour movies like his transformers.
No seriously, they should have taken a lot of notes from Michael Bay and his transformers movies. Say what you will but that guy was like really efficient in providing information to the audience (to the point of being blunt but the principle is there to learn from) and his fight scenes and maintaining a high stakes energy through most of the series. You could really just take those factors and combine with the heart and character of PJO and you have a kick ass series that could have the emotional resonance of Lord of The Rings and the hype of Endgame/Infinity War and blow the profits of the Harry Potter Series out of the water. I'm talking major ass smer blockbusters that become pop culture icons in their own right.
Seriously, PJO always had the potential for what I just described and they really aren't realizing it whatsoever.
Seriously I do have my reasons to dislike RR but I will say that the pace of the books is very nice. Really nice. They have a slightly slower pace, since the quests take place over a minimum of two weeks or less, in contrast to the Bay transformers films that take place over four to six days max. But RR was also really good at maintaing a pretty high energy story. Sure he slowed it down enough to have emotional moments but still, high energy throughout. That's why the final chapters of The Last Olympian literally feel like a massive weight is off the readers shoulders. At long last the end goal of the world not ending has been met. We no longer have to worry about next book of death risking adventures.
Like I know its been a while since I've tead pjo but those novels are imprinted in my brain and I know that those novels were very high paced. A pcae that isn't suitable for television because to cut that pace into episodes is to neuter the shit out of the original experience.
Honestly Heroes of Olympus is what deserves a tv show. Heroes of Olympus takes place over the span of months, probably eighteen or so, a good portion of the story is literally just traveling over the United states to over the sea to Europe and Tartarus to back to the United states. Listen I know Heroes of Olympus has bigger problems but honestly each and every one of those novels would make a less than solid film. They would create cool scenes, and have good acting and design, but seriously, imagine trying to put Percy and Annabeth in Tartarus as well as the adventures of the remaining seven in the same three hour movie. It would barely work. TV show is better for Heroes of Olympus than PJO, especially if it has a fraction of Game of thrones budget. Imagine 50-82 minute length episodes, for Heroes of Olympus, specifically.
And honestly Magnus Chase (if it ever gets green lit by the time I'm 39) should definitely be a film trilogy, preferably R-rated, considering its pace and energy.
*the Kane Chronicles are harder to pin down because at the very least Moon Knight proves that Egyptian myth cam be entertaining tv but the Kane Chronicles frankly, weren't RR's strongest in the first place. Especially because Egyptian mythology operates on a different style to GrecoRoman and this it's world building is a touch more complex and not in the intriguing way.

Lunar (too lazy to draw her rn so I’ll explain the lore of this 1 oc using gacha) Part 1
I’ve been working on this oc Story for 2 years. So it all started w/ Apollo and Lucifer, they used to bang, yeah? Well they broke up, luci got angry and killed apollos new gf, then basically got kicked outa the over world aka heaven (there’s way more to their story but it’s ab lunar rn not them)
so a lil while before Lucifer got banished, solar (angel of the sun) and lunar (angel of the moon) were birthed.
lunar always felt smaller then her twin sister (I mean irl yeah the moons smaller then the sun but stfu.) solar was the favorite child obv, so lunar was kinda reserved. The only person lunar liked was solar. Lunar one day started hearing voices in the walls and eventually started speaking w/ the voice (lunar was 700 billion year old, 7 years old in human years so she didn’t know much better) she began a friendship w/ the voice and had a bond of trust w/ it. The voice one day started talking about “a special gift” it had for lunar, but refused to elaborate. It would randomly bring it up during convo’s between the two and when lunar would ask about it more the voice refused to talk about it further.
Lunar one day decided she had enough of the taunting w/ the gift and said if the voice didn’t tell her what it is she would tell Apollo about the voice. The voice immediately agreed to tell her out of fear of Apollo (I bet y’all can guess who the voice was.) what lunar didn’t know was that the voice wanted to get her hyped up ab this to where she desired it over anything else. (At this point lunar was 1,600 billion years old, 16 in human years, so the voice had been taunting her w/ this for a while) The voice said “I have to show myself to give you the gift, promise me you wont be scared.” After lunar promised a black kinda misty floaty stuff seeped through the cracks in the walls revealing the now demonized Lucifer. Lunar recognized Lucifer and was struck w/ fear, stuck in place. Lucifer smiled and said “I give you the gift of freedom” then the black floaty stuff formed into the tentacle like things and shoved themselves down her mouth.
she passed out and woke up a while later and something had changed ab her. She could see small horns starting to poke through her skin and her fingers were elongating and her wings started to darken in color from their roots, the transformation had begun.

In the New Years episodes, Rukia et al suggest that shinigami New Years is very much an intentional borrow from the living realm, and considered as such. It’s also a fairly new one. If they’re so hyped about borrowing this new years, I imagine they probably also borrowed prior ones, and that during the relevant period, Lunar New Year got celebrated. But given their present zest for the Gregorian calendar—and the general lack of institutional memory around TBTP, which as far as shinigami lifespans go was not that long ago, and only like 30 years after the calendar switch—I feel like they probably nope’d right out of Lunar New Year and plum forgot about it. Or maybe it’s still a Soi Fon family tradition. Maybe Soi Fon doesn’t like cats because of Yoruichi—Yoruichi’s cat transformation is just one more reason for Soi Fon to like Yoruichi. She grew up on animal zodiac stories!

The calendar in Soul Society is so interesting to me, because like… I’m going to start somewhere calendar-adjacent, but I guess one day several hundred years ago Yamamoto decided that architecture/clothing had peaked and he decreed they were just going to stay in their Edo vibes from then on—even though like, clearly even the "modern" Soul Society/Seireitei predates Edo by quite a bit, so it must all have looked very different for most of its history, unless the shinigami actually invented this styling independently. It also wasn’t a hard stop, because some places have Western furniture and they print a reasonably contemporary-looking magazine and the 2nd has heated floors. (BUT THERE’S NO CAKE.)
They seem incredibly committed to the Gregorian calendar, and making sure their calendar syncs with the Living World’s calendar—or at least, any time stuff gets skewy in the dangai, someone pitches a fit. And I get why they would feel like that was important, wanting to keep track of their deployed units and all. Lolllll, man, you know how most of the reports are handwritten? I bet it’s only half out of tradition and the other half is out of a fear that they will Y2K themselves into oblivion by accident; and they should be rightly concerned, because that seems like something they would do. (The 12th has all those mainframes because they do not share this fear.) This is probably also why denreishiki (or the model that Rukia got) can print things. Every time Hitsugaya texts a report there’s someone on the other end with a tiny printer gluing receipt tape into a scrapbook. Or maybe someone transcribing them by hand because denreishinki print with non-archival ink.
But this is getting away from me. I guess what I’m curious about is at what point shinigami began fashioning themselves after cultures in the living world. Did they pre-exist humans (in a different form), evolve with them, or did the notions of deity, death, and afterlife need to develop first? Do they have their own independently developed cultural forms or is it all/does it all have to be a riff off the world of the living? Is this something they have ever had (prior to Edo? prior to modern Soul Society?) Is the whole "we capture a Hollow in the realm of the living and then drag it back to Soul Society for part of a ritual that takes place 12 years after the death of a captain" thing a shinigami invention, or does that also have roots in older human practices (iomante?)?

Honestly, I’m just impressed that the old guard shinigami have managed to adapt to what was probably a good many calendars, one after the other and many simultaneous. Do you think that’s part of why Ukitake is so zeroed in on everyone’s birthdays? I mean, besides being a nice guy and wanting the Youth to feel some sense of celebration in the passage of time while it still holds meaning in their hearts lol. They’re also handy mnemonics! Because Ukitake would not give a shit about this newfangled calendar they’re using now, were it not for its utility in tracking the birthdays of all his lovely coworkers.
I think of Soul Society of being fairly sclerotic, but it’s super interesting the ways that this is paired with these punctuations of modernization fever? Or like, a desire to bring as much of the living realm into theirs as they can, even as these efforts are uneven and sometimes a bit odd. I think it goes back to this question of whether their realm predates humans on Earth (or in Japan), has always been concomitant, or proceeds from a human ability to conceive of an afterlife. I could honestly vibe with any of these.
Pre-dating humans on earth would be fun because you could lean into shinigami monstrosity and imagine how completely different they would have been without the blueprint of a human form, and before asauchi were even a glimmer in Nimaiya’s eye. That would also suggest that shinigami would have had to adopt this idea of being balancers and having anything to do with human souls, rather than being teleologically destined for this purpose.
Being twinned to the human realm would be fun because it plays up the notion of Soul Society as reflection.
And the third option of being tied not to human corporeality as distinct from the primordial ooze, but to a particular kind of human consciousness—well, that starts getting very esoteric (she says, as though the rest of this wasn't).
Anyway, the modernization fever is interesting re: these potential origin stories because of the way it indexes how important the living realm is to Soul Society—it’s perceived as some kind of backwater frontier, but also the location of the sublime.
** Please note that I’m sure there’s some kind of Soul King-related origin story upon which the entire plot of Bleach rests, but my brain actively flouts this knowledge. What is a Soul King, I don’t caaaare.

literally no other transformation in the series could ever live up to not only the hype of the original ssj but also the heart-wrenching / raw emotion behind it like.
Goku going absolutely ballistic after seeing his best friend explode in front of him, assuming he will never be able to resurrect again? his anguished voice as he's telling frieza off for it too, god. I think the only other scream that the dub has done that actually gave me chills was actually in super, when goku is ssgss and is telling zamasu he would pay for killing chichi and goten. ofc there have been many years between those and ofc sean would have progressed after so long, its only right. ANYWAYS.
Dude, and not JUST that but. ssj 1 one is 10000000% the most aesthetically pleasing of the bunch, ESPECIALLY before the art style started going downhill.
HANDS DOWN the best transformation, with the best art a transformation has gotten, imo. im biased there, but yahknow.

Check in on my (not very realistic) wish list for episode 138
1. Nobody dies in the battle against Cree, even temporarily (looking at you, squishy wizards). Everybody survives and defeats her relatively easily.
Ayyye I mean Cree was one vs. 6 basically and of course it was easy enough, I expected this. Bye Cree, I won’t really miss you... WAIT she got controlled after death?? Well, the actual Cree fight was still easy so I’m counting this. The flesh monster version also took less than like, 20 seconds in-game time to beat lol.
2. Caleb or Beau’s eye power come into play whether for them or against them during the combat (telepathy also counts).
Heyyyy Caleb and Beau could pick up on the radio! That is helpful- oh he turned Cree into a flesh monster using the eyes... oh NO everyone has eyes now except Jester and Yasha. Group telepathy could be useful?? I guess??
3. Beau and Caleb discover the third function of their eyes if there is one (besides true sight and telepathy).
Nope I have no idea. I’m assuming that seeing through illusions and dark vision are separate at this point. That’s fine considering the huge twist that almost all of them have eyes now, like hello?? Caleb also wondered if he has a fourth power now, which we still don’t know about.
4. The party gets some much needed rest, even a short one, after defeating Cree (Bonus: heroes’ feast).
Hey the time shunt thing worked! PERFECTLY! With a 30 and a 24! I love two wizards, my absolute beloved. THANKS ESSEK (and Caleb, but Essek mostly).
5. This is a long shot but still hoping for any mention/sighting of Yussa.
Thanks Caleb for mentioning Yussa! Also Beau was able to try to connect to Yussa thanks to the eyes too! What a cool moment. Also thanks everybody for agreeing to help him lol. Caleb banished him! They saved him! Yayyyyy.
6. More nightmarish body horror and screaming from the cognouza citizens (look, listen, I loved last episode okay, Matt is awesome, horror is my jam).
Yes for the intestine corridor and flesh puddles, also for Cree transformation, also for the threshold crest vault mouth opening thing and for literally everything else in this episode need I explain? As a student of science I am very much enjoying the weird physiology connections with the Cognouza.
7. They meet another member of the Somnovem who offers more information.
Jester’s Calm emotion what a queen, they did meet a Somnovem. Wow I never thought I’d find eternal love so creepy but thanks Gaudius. Gaudius is apparently against Fastidan and Culpasi, nice. Good to know that the Somnovem Omega still does not get along lol.
8. Beau and Yasha’s PDA or power couple moments (bonus: they talk about mind control, the eyes, or feelings).
OH WOW Yasha has IDEAS about Beau wearing a red cape does she now lol, not subtle at all as expected. Get a room you guys! Not much talking can be done at this point, but nice.
9. Fjord and Jester’s conversation or domesticity (bonus: they talk about hope for the future).
“All we care about is love and unity” LMAO JESTER taking your chance to smooch as much as possible. I’m counting this moment you cannot convince me otherwise.
10. Artagan/Sprinkle comes into play/is mentioned and interaction with Jester.
Yep, they both talked (well, hissed in one case) with Jester. Artagan thought about them going to the feywild too! Fun.
11. Obligatory wish for Essek’s fancy dunamancy or magical items (Bonus: we get to see more high-damage AOE offensive spells).
Magic missile again! At least that will never miss. Sad that he can’t do AOE ever with the party around lol. ALSO THE TIME SHUNT BY THE TWO WIZARDS! The 30 from Essek (dunamancy master indeed!) and the dirty 24 from Caleb, NICE.
12. Obligatory wish for Caleb’s polymorph spell on himself or a party member.
Jester’s polymorph spell was cool too! Jestape? Japester?? I like Japester. Polymorph! Jester’s interactions are also my beloved. It’s not Caleb’s spell, so I’m not counting this one.
13. The party tracks down Lucien and tries to reach him by mentioning Molly.
Well, they attempted to track down Lucien, but really it’s the other way around.
14. Obligatory wish for Essek’s room in the tower (it will stay until it happens).
Nope, as expected.
15. Obligatory wish for Cad being a MVP in and out of combat also for him to use decompose more on the city, I’m curious to see what happens.
That path to the grave, what a MVP move Cad. TWO TIMES! TWO TIMES! For the HDYWTDT from Veth too! I knew it, Cad is a combat genius. Also nice blight on the fleshy ceiling. Also plane shift to the fire plane! Also that curse word speech what a king.
16. Veth one-on-one RP interaction with any other party member - we had some good tag teams recently, like Veth and Beau, Veth and Yasha, Veth and Essek... I want to see more!
We don’t really have time for RP because this episode was super action-packed but we did have a bunch of nice short moments!
17. Yasha or Fjord being absolutely freaked out/creeped out by the city.
Well to be fair EVERYBODY was super creeped out, so...
18. The empire siblings don’t get another red eye (well, hopefully this will happen if they won’t get a full rest).
Well ironically, Beau and Caleb DID NOT get another red eye during the whole party members gaining red eyes scene- Nope, Caleb got one more. Honestly, pretty excited and anxious at the same time.
19. Somebody check in on Essek’s mental/physical state because for a newbie adventurer he is doing suspiciously well - I wonder if he is just desensitized at this point.
Poor Essek was very physically hurt and also shook shook by Cree being transformed... so not entirely desensitized. He even failed the wisdom saving throw OH NO HE IS GETTING EYES ISN’T HE CALLING IT RN READ IN BOOKS I know what book is kinda associated with a wisdom save. Update: I KNEW IT, and I don’t care that nobody will believe me that I called it. Still sad that nobody really got to role play much, but I’m enjoying the action.
20. Caleb uses more fire or his customized spells (last episode’s awesome Widogast’s web of fire got me missing all his unique spells).
Disintegrate followed by CAT’S IRE HYPE and the clutch immovable object used for the first time what’s sexier than wizards NOTHING.
21. Fjord being the leader of the group in any way or just does something very impressive (go Fjord Tough).
Nice hexblade curse and triple Eldritch Blasts Fjord! Warlock powers let’s go! Also, nice counterspell! That divine smite + crit star razor oof that’s such a beautiful 80 damage. VERY impressive indeed.
22. We get to see new spells/abilities/features gained by their level-up! That will probably not come into play until a long rest, but one can hope.
MIND BLANK AT 8TH LEVEL what a perfect spell for Caleb. They got a long rest thanks to the mini Beacon! I love it. Jester and Cad showed off some spells as well!
23. Lucien physically reacting to the party’s attempts to bring up Molly’s memories/moments and showing confusion/hesitation.
Well they didn’t get to try anything really, Lucien spent most of the time doing his cool, dramatic and drawn-out villain monologue thing, also his maniac laughter scared me way more than the scream from last episode.
24. Obligatory wish for everyone to remain relatively happy and alive by the end of the episode except Cree (I have a feeling that Lucien ain’t dying this episode), and the episode ends on a terrifying cliffhanger as always.
Rip Cree, and what do you know, cliffhanger! Gosh I love this show.
Bonus:
Nice dimension door Jester, she is SO on task and such a key player in these crucial moments!! What a queen, it’s thanks to her (and Caleb, but it’s her idea first!) that they got to the crest so quickly and got rid of it. I repeat, QUEEN.
Veth’s first shot AND the final shot were awesome in terms of damage, rogues am I right?
Wow what a confrontation. I thought Lucien was all for the Somnovem but apparently he is... just super chaotic?? And wants to rule them all?? What was that all about? Lucien just gets more and more complex and I’m conflicted because now they might need to fight him, the city, or both. This is getting super complicated and I can’t wait for the next episode.
Well guys, this session made me scream in joy and also feel what it’s like to be high on adrenaline. The episodes just keep getting better and better. I literally could not care less if this is the final arc - if it is, it’s a damn good one. I love the cast so much, I love critical role so much. I wish it could be Thursday every day of the week!

currently reading: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo I can hear you all say I am way late to the hype train but hear me out. :D I’ve known about this book for years, I think it’s really become a part of pop culture in a way and everyone is aware of who Marie Kondo is. But I had never read it. So since I am planning to move this fall and I had a severe depressive episode and couldn’t leave my apartment for a month I decided it was time to find some motivation and reduce the clutter in my life. I watched many youtube videos for inspiration and people often talked about the Konmari method so it got me curious again and I decided to see from the first hand source if her advice could be useful to me. I think we all have heard about the “keep the item if it sparks joy!” portion of her method but its actually surprisingly deep and spiritual attitude she represents where you need to review your life and your goals and understand why you are holding on to so many things.

last series: Our Flag Means Death – I saw it all over tumblr and it really was funny and good. Legends of Tomorrow – just finished season 7 (and as a result had an awesome action packed dream about Sara Lance. :D). Tribes of Europa – watching rn, it has some good stuff but also some cliches. Costumes and sets are great tho – I want to have a post apocalyptic larp so bad right now.
sweet, spicy, or savory: Spicy! I am the monster always going for extra jalapenos and tabasco sauce. I come from a family were salt and some black pepper were the only spices used so I have no idea where my love for kick comes from.
coffee or tea: Coffee! It gives me life. Whenever there’s a multi day event I am bringing my own pack of coffee to be sure I am set.
three ships: Obikin is my main one for sure. I also like Quinobi and Thorki.

currently working on: I am pruning apple trees but since weather is shit it’s on hold until tomorrow. So rn I am plucking away at my writing and trying to catch up to reading all the great fic out there.

Omg, this story! It goes deep into the BDSM relationships and philosophy and I frickin love it! Reading that one really changed me and gave me a new perspective on how good and transformative fanfic really can be. It is glorious:

"I am," he says. "I'm in control. But I'm…" he searches for the right word, intensely aware of Jensen's eyes on him. "I'm… allowing you to have control."
Jensen's brows rise over the rim of his glasses. "But how do you know that's true? That you're not tricking yourself into thinking that because you want it?" Jensen throws his own question back at him.
"Because I also have the choice not to," Jared says, meets that gaze head-on. "When I came to your house, I didn't even see that I had a choice not to go. But I did, and I do." He's light-headed with the understanding. "It's… it's the weirdest thing," he says, suddenly struck by the impulse to laugh, and he does. "It's like… it's like being free."
