I will never be over how good Leo and Hueso’s dynamic is and how both of them get so much out of having the other in their lives.

In Leo’s case, he gains that older male figure in his life that he is willing to trust and lower his walls for. He gains a confidant where he has none elsewhere, too busy keeping up his many masks with his family to ever consider showing them his true thoughts. He gains an authority figure who is willing to hear him out, no matter how reluctant said figure initially appears.

In Hueso’s case, Leo’s direct involvement in the skeleton’s life has undoubtedly benefited Hueso so unbelievably well. For one, it’s Leo’s choice to ask Hueso for help finding his brothers that ultimately leads to the clearing of Hueso’s Hidden City ban. Then, it’s Leo and Mikey that Hueso brings on to help him with two mob bosses, ending with the bosses no longer being a problem for Hueso. And of course, through Leo’s decision to come to Hueso for advice and later the slider’s insistence that Hueso try to make up with his brother, Hueso’s estranged relationship with Piel is finally mended.

Sure, Leo causes no small amount of strife and damages to Hueso’s business and person, and Hueso is often annoyed by and speaks callously to Leo, but there’s a reason Leo feels comfortable enough to continue going to Hueso, and there’s a reason Hueso ultimately always hears Leo out.

They really do end up feeling like a nephew and uncle, don’t they?

AU where Crosshair isnt just the youngest batcher

Noooo hes the youngest clone to ever grace the field period. Like the Kaminoans thought they needed just three experimental clones but later discover they need a fourth and so Crosshair is very quickly, very unsafely, made and aged up so by the time he's in the field man's is like 6 months or smth ridiculous

Hee makes one comment, one "how's it feel to be arguing with a baby" comment while arguing with regs and thats it for him. The GAR goes wild, the buir gene is raging, Crosshair goes from dodging fists to dodging adoptions. His brothers are also dragged into it cause they're also insanely young.

And that is how the GAR ends up knowing of and liking the Bad Batch, they stop thinking of them as assholes and just go "traumatised babiesss"

"That's not from this side," Price nods at large black bird in your arms. You glance down at the blue black feathers and clicking beak, the crow cradled close. You snap a sprig of parsley off the overgrown patch of herbs and hand it to the bird to hold in its little claws.

"He's from the city," You agree, "caught a nasty curse from the neighborhood kids."

"Folks cursing birds now?" The smile on Price's face does something to your stomach, you keep your eyes off of him. He's been pushing the threshold lately, getting closer to it as he leans against the fence. The magic warps around him, you can feel it shivering every time he gets too close.

"Of course not, people curse kids," Price hums, nodding.

"Kids that happen to live near overprotective witches."

"Overprotective is a stretch," You tell him, feeling your anxiety buzz at the accurate assessment. Price raises a brow when you look at him. Even the crow in your arms seems to doubt your assertion. What does it know, it's a bird.

"Why do you do that?" Price asks, and again you feel the threshold almost... part for him. It seems to thin at least. You'll have to fix that.

"Do what?"

"Disagree with me."

"Please," You roll your eyes, "I can't be the first person to do that."

"You're doing it again," He strikes a match against the brick of the garden wall, lights a cigar with it, his smoke seeping into your space. You swallow, not eager to be known so well by a man so dangerous. Especially when you so desperately want to tell him you're not.

Price takes your obvious silence with a smile, and you know you're caught. "That's alright sweetheart," He says low, you can feel the tendrils of his smoke swirl around your ankles, "it's hard asking for the things you want, but you'll get there."

You snap your preferred hex-breakers free from your herb garden, doing your best to ignore the stroke of smoke over your bare skin. You make a mental note that his magic can get through the threshold, and hurry inside with your avian client, Price's eyes heavy on your back.

#kirby gijinka #marx kirby #I love feeling more comfortable designing characters with long hair now #before I think a lot of my characters had short hair for my own wish fulfillment and projection of my gender ideals #now that I’ve had short hair for so long I’m a lot more comfortable with playing around with hair length in character designs #I really enjoy putting up hair in a tight updo as a show of like. character restriction or self control #with marx in particular I think pre-nova it’s a pretty clean updo with few stray strands of hair #then immediately after receiving nova’s power he gets to let loose for the first time and all the hair fans out a lot more #and for star allies he has a much healthier balance between the two with more flyaway strands #but then the more power of nova he uses the more his hair is disheveled and falls out of the jester cap #anyways idk #the state of hair is such a fascinating thing in characters because it’s one of the easiest things to change about a character I think #while still being recognizable as the character that is #a lot of the design for my pink oc had a similar idea where they have their hair pinned tightly and then hair falls loose as they let loose

Okay so NO ONE JUDGE ME OVER HERE. But I've been reading some chethan fics... And I've had some thoughts. (Obviously, spoilers for Scream VI).

It really just happened by accident, there was that fic that popped up on the Avatar ao3 page someone wrote of the Avatar characters reacting to Scream VI, like an alternate version of Spider. In that fic I don't believe Ethan is ghostface, but I don't remember fully.

So I had known in passing people shipped Ethan and Chad, and I got curious as to their Ethan isn't ghostface versions, because as I said in a post recently that movie was held up by fantastic action scenes and great ideas, and dragged down by some weak ghostface reveals. Especially when compared to how strong the reveals were in Scream (2022). Anyways, I found some really interesting stuff on there, fics where Ethan is not ghostface but Quinn and his dad are, making it like a massive betrayal, and usually the dad and Richie were super abusive to Ethan and what not. I find that kinda interesting as a plot, it makes it like ghostface Richie was his tormentor for decades before he ever was to the core four, but he's still a suspect and they still can't trust him fully. I don't know, I think it makes it more complex and better motivations for the killers, the screenwriters really should've let me give them notes on the script before they started filming. All irrelevant, really, because Ethan's character was actually a dirty filthy murderer, but still. Could've been used better.

BUT ANYWAYS, the point of this is to say; has there really been no Scream AU Avatar fic? Like it seems to me like that shit is just sitting here waiting to be made. Like, half of you all are just Jack Champion fangirls so you have seen both. Idk, I read a couple chethan fics and the character fanon-Ethan has morphed into is really kinda Spider coded, so it writes itself. I can tell you the plot easy, right now.
