Todays the day. I need to get a job, even if that jobs not in the gaming industry. So I’m heading to the library to print up a resume and apply at a little local chain of mattress stores.

The guy instantly liked me when I went in to do a secret shop for a competing store and offered to hire me on the spot so I figure if I can chat with him he’ll still like me enough to consider me.

It's time for machine comforts. Comforts we can't understand, or experience. Let them be happy, let them be at peace with their body.

Does a breath of cool water feel nice on their systems? When it's quiet do they listen to their own heart and feel the electricity pulsing? Does it remind them that they are alive and a part of this world? Do they have dreams? Hopes and projects they wish to work on, hobbies?

Why get off the string into the harsh and deadly world, fighting for survival and losing everything they've ever known to love about themselves?

What about the safety of their bodies? How scary would it be for a machine with thousands, maybe millions of throughs to suddenly have just a handful. The horror of everything going silent.

They have hundreds of eyes to see the world for all its beauty, they capture moments that would otherwise go unseen. Why blind themselves of such things?

#they are alive with ALL of themselves #people make puppets way too important. can we spare some love for the giant box in the recursive transfrom array?#can we give a little love to the neuron flies that dance and carry the thoughts of the iterator #and the memory conflux...they'd never forget anything..not your birthday or your favourite colour or the things you care about #the general system bus playing a song.. something unique just to them.. you can sit and listen to them think #and overseers that you can always show your art to..and they can do a lil spin and display a heart to show the appreciation #Could you lay on the ground on top of an iterator and feel the hum of the structure? could you watch the stars together?#and even after the ancients are gone could they light up rooms and make patterns of glowing windows on the side of the buildings?#really big machines can be happy being really big machines #let them have their comforts and joys we could never understand #love iterators <3 so fascinating #rain world #iterator #rain world oc #iterator oc #oc veil of dreams #drawins

my all-time favorite False Childhood Memory is the time Mister Rogers guest-starred for an episode of The Magic School Bus. I can find no record of this actually happening but I remember it vividly and by gosh mcgolly wouldn't that have been the niftiest beans

#in my memory it started out Roger Rabbit style (w/ Real World Mr Rogers being visited by cartoon characters)#and then the Bus transformed into a machine that transformed MISTER ROGERS into a cartoon #and then he hopped on the Bus to join the class for a Standard Educational-Yet-Traumatic Magical Field Trip #also the animation style was suspiciously similar to the time the Supernatural Bros guest starred on Scooby Doo #so that really should have tipped me off about the reliability of this specific memory #(also i remember being really anxious about whether or not Mr Rogers would be permanently stuck in the toon world #so in hindsight this was probably just another weirdly vivid stress dream i get those a lot #and they can be a Wild Ride (magic school bus theme song callback)#as anyone who stuck around with me through the Clown Deli Meat Dream Post can testify #)

I just rediscovered this doodle (drawn last month) of my boys that I didn't post and had to share it with you. I'm personally convinced that Norman is the most conventionally and socially free man in New York. Accompanying it, a very old experiment with colors and shading techniques (featuring two of my favorite batim pairings)

Also, I watched the The Last of Us series earlier this year and couldn't help but project some of my Batim faves into this kind of apocalyptic scenario (and note how Sammy, having never held a gun in his life, would absolutely rock that end of the world shit and die of old age lmao)

YES there is SO much room to make these supercomputers incredibly interesting without taking them off the string.

Like I get it, silly creature in scenario (I love those) and I'm not gonna criticise it much here- this is mostly gonna be an appreciation post, but big machine that is not human could very much stay a big machine that is not human.

Faithful mutual @sin-ari talked to me about how such a complex machine would struggle to portray it's emotions through the puppet. The puppet is meant to comfort the ancients and provide a way to communicate in the same style. But who's to say iterators feel things the same way? What if they had emotions that are indescribable to us? Things we could never experience?

And I'm going to keep talking about Ari's points cuz yess iterators should express their emotions with all of their structure. You should hear the thrumming and crackling of the flux condensers! You should hear the growling of their systems with anger, you should feel the metal walls vibrate with sound!!

The PLACE is alive and you should feel it!!! If you wander into an iterator structure and it's quiet, not a single 'whoop' from the flies, if the lights aren't dancing like they usually are, if rooms are empty with inactivity, could you not feel the sadness?

Does the general system bus play a different tune?
