Not a queer rec, but you know how we keep talking about needing more stories about an optimistic future?

This book is about to come out tomorrow (time stamp: 6/9/3023). It's a collection of short stories about a future where things are slowly getting better. It is the third part in a series.

Like any short story collection, these are not perfect, some stories are always going to be better than others, but they ARE absolutely lovely. And they are independent projects, so you'd be supporting small creators. Also, the people behind them are the same as behind the organization Queer SciFi, so while not every story has queer themes, they are still all very inclusive.

I'm going to tag @hopepunk-humanity, in case they feel like they can use this information for something. Or maybe they have other optimistic scifi that they can add?

thought for the day is that its not really unusual for a kid to like drawing, or making silly comics, but the fact that cassie is able to recognize them as gregorys comics means he must have done enough for it to be recognizable + he would’ve shown them to her. my point is that this is like one of the only things we actually know about this kid as a solid fact and not just theory/speculation/headcanon is that he draws. and i will cry about it

(sorry for leaving y’all in suspense I was grocery shopping) Surprise!! I accidentally got into Len’en like two weeks ago. Whoops! I got ideas for cool drawings to do with each of the BPoHC shrine team members (and you-know-who, ofc, but that one might be… weird lol), but Tsubakura gets to go first cause theirs is the simplest; just greyscale + red color scheme with a split background and the pose is mostly random (maybe they’re squishing Tsurubami’s little eye thing? Idk). Very pleased with how everything worked out; the line for the eye is exactly where the dividing line for the background was and the way I managed to make the vest corseted while not changing the ribbon placement is just perfect. Although I did make their hat smaller out of the aforementioned cowardice also that thing is hard to draw

So now that I've figured out why Hira might go for Astarion ... I am now struggling to figure out why Astarion would go for them in the long run. Like, because he's barely his own person at this point, what are his preferences? Ya know? Beyond how they treat him, beyond the obvious, what about them is it that he likes? Ya know? "You were kind and patient and trusted me" is all well and good but that's still 1) related to him and 2) doesn't quite tap into the sense that he also wants them for himself for other reasons aside from wanting more of what they're doing for him. Ya know? Ya fucking know?
