🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?

My god!!!! I actually looked to find the video that made me laugh so hard on youtube I started writing fanfiction about like, getting adopted by him, haha. I used to write “getting adopted by [one direction/youtuber/celebrity]” style self-inserts. I’d have every mental illness and they’d all cure me the second they started hanging out with me. This guy’s a piece of shit now, but it was a video like this one. I was like 11 and had just been given unrestricted internet access, it was a wonder it didn’t do more to my brain.

Other than that, I was usually writing other sorts of youtubers. I just found some really, REALLY old writing I can show you that I made when I was like, 11-13. The improvement is crazy.

Oh, man. This one’s totally fictitious but I love the idea that when Kaladin couldn’t get any tattoos for Bridge Four because he felt like such an outsider, Moash gave him a tattoo that said basically “mine” and that one stayed. You know that one, Nat, but the world needs to know that.

Other than that, I love t4t transman4transman Dalinar/Kaladin, especially with Dalinar being like “I can’t believe you were failed this bad, I’ll get the ardentia to officially legally transition you + we’ll get you on T” and Kaladin is like ewww the ardentiaaaa no thanksss and keeps doing whatever tf he wants. He takes the testosterone though. Also totally fictitious, actually. I just be doing whatever I want, god bless.

❄️ ⇢ what's your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?

I have always craved a nonlinear time fic. Like one that jumps back and forth between present day and past. I’m trying to write one like that and it’s really goddamn intimidating. I really love sleepy-skittles as an author and I think she’d kill it. I wanted to do a BNHA time loop au and I think pitviperofdoom would kill the idea. Both of them have fics that I love.

I love pitviperofdoom’s Yesterday Upon the Stair work (complete, teen, bnha) and sleepy-skittle’s we grew under a bad sun. (complete, explicit, trc) Both are phenomenal.

Cuddling HCs

TF141, LVQ, Valeria, Graves, Alex, Farah, Laswell and Nikolai, again. These are the last batch of HCs I have written out for now. I do have two stories written out, one for Ghost and one for Graves, but I'm not sure I should post those. Anyway, for the most part these are sleepy cuddles, I suppose. Very self-indulgent, but that's what writing something like this is in general. SFW and gender neutral, as per usual.

Price: He’s a captain, so naturally he loves being the one to hold you, doesn’t matter if you’re spooning or you’re safely tucked away under his chin. Of course, he’s the big, strong man in whatever your relationship may be, so he just wants to protect you. He’s so used to taking care of others and making sure they’re alright, that it comes second nature to him to try and make you feel safe too. If you ever suggested him being the one to be held he’d smile, almost laugh, at the idea, thinking it to be rather silly. But when he’s in your arms for once? He gets very comfortable and sleepy, it never occurred to him that being cuddled would be so nice. He has no qualms about asking you to hold him either, he knows you understand.

Gaz: Such a cuddlebug, honestly. You wanna hold him? You wanna be held by him? Either is fine, as long as you switch it up from time to time. Becomes especially cuddly if he’s tired, that’s when he’d love to simply grab you and lie down for the night with you. Even just a nap is alright, in spite of him not taking them very often. Loves putting his head on your chest, something about hearing a loved one’s heartbeat is just so calming to him. Every time you’re cuddling he simply closes his eyes and there’s a chance he might just fall asleep. While he might be willing to engage in conversation while cuddling, don’t expect him to always respond with full sentences, sometimes he’ll barely even hear you with how relaxed he is. Doesn’t have an iron grip on you, but it will tighten for a moment when you try to get up. That’s when he snaps back to reality and needs to remember where he is for a moment.

Ghost: This guy is actually so touch-starved, but he’d rather do anything else than admit it as he’s afraid of becoming too much. Give him a taste of what a good cuddle session is like, he’ll think about it constantly. The first few times will be him holding you only. After that? You may request holding him, if you ask him a few times he’ll crumble eventually. It’s one thing to hold someone, because if you do it right then they can’t hurt you. But being held? Being spooned, cradled or given affection otherwise? He actually becomes so soft. If you gently rub his back or run your hand over his skin otherwise you can get him to fall asleep and snore softly. Doesn’t move in his sleep but good luck trying to get out of his grasp. If it’s you he’ll try to not have an iron grip and hurt you, but it’s not exactly something he can control either when he’s asleep.

Soap: Despite being open to either, he prefers being the one to hold you. It makes him feel more masculine, but that’s what he tells himself. In reality he simply sleeps more easily holding something, or someone. When he falls asleep holding you, you can actually watch his facial expression be relaxed, his mouth somewhat curving upwards too. Nuzzles into you like there’s no tomorrow, either that or he’s nestling into you like a dog or cat moving the blanket to make it just that bit more comfortable. Sleepy talks are a given for him, he loves hearing about anything and everything as he takes in your warmth. In return, he’ll tell you about how he convinced Gaz he stepped on a ladybug, when it was really just a red Skittles. If you’re spooning and he’s feeling a little bit mischievous he might graze your tummy with his hands to make you giggle.

Alejandro: He has a high rank, but he’s aware of how cathartic being held can be. Thus he’s not above asking you for some cuddles. If neither of you have anything important going on, he might just pick you up and carry you to the nearest soft surface. Loves gently scratching your scalp and feel you melt under his touch, especially if you only respond to him via humming after some time. He slightly prefers holding over being held, but on a bad day he loves nothing more than to have you run your fingers through his hair instead. If you’re lying on a bed together then he loves facing you, whoever moves first to hold the other gets to be the bigger person for the time being. Very much a talker before sleepy time, he has so much to tell you about. Besides, hearing your voice heals his soul just as much as being physically close to you.

Rodolfo: He’s more inclined to admit he’s touch-starved than Ghost, but he feels a bit embarrassed to do that. Likes holding you, but if he could choose, then he’d choose to be held every single time. There’s just something so nice about not having to worry about a thing, about being the one who gets protected for once. Trust me when I say that if something were to happen he’s the first one to jump into action, he can be quite ruthless, but putting your trust into someone else, difficult as it may be, really pays off when you have found the right person. However, even if you just hold his hand while you’re lying next to each other, he’s quite content. Not much of a talker, plus he gets a bit self-conscious as well. He’s a sergeant major, that’s not too low of a rank, should he really be the one to get treated like this? Pull him close to you and reassure him that you love any sort of cuddling with him from time to time and he’ll be very happy, though.

Valeria: Much like a hug from her, it’s hard to get her to cuddle you. She’s not entirely opposed to it after a lot of time has passed, but she will be cautious. Even then, she’ll, for the most part, only agree to spooning, but she will absolutely never be the smaller spoon. It doesn’t matter how awful she feels, she’ll never be comfortable in that position. She doesn’t have the most time for that sort of thing either, something always comes up and she can barely get any rest. While she likely won’t fall asleep cuddling someone, what you can do to ease her nerves is give her a plushie. She’ll scoff and make fun of it, but she appreciates it. Hell, from time to time she’ll fall asleep cuddling it and think of you. As much as she hates to admit it, if she’s had it for long enough she’ll grow a bit softer around you and give just the tiniest amount of more physical affection. Don’t mention it, though. She’s aware, but she can’t particularly help it.

Graves: Another guy who prefers holding. However, it’s much harder to get him to be the one being held. He has too much pride for that sort of thing. Yes, he dishes out physical affection like it’s nothing, but he’s rarely on the receiving end, especially for something along the lines of cuddling. And yes, that is because of his own doing. If you beg and plead enough, though, he might let you. Feels pretty indifferent to being held, but if it makes you truly happy he can indulge you once or twice. But be aware, the second he can, he will switch it around so you’re being held again. You can fight all you want, even when he’s tired it’ll likely be a losing battle for you. Not too much of a talker when he’s about to sleep, but he’s more than happy to listen to you talk about whatever is on your mind. Loves having you bury your face in your chest and fall asleep like that, like Soap, it makes him feel very manly and needed.

Alex: It doesn’t matter to him which way you want it, he’s happy with any position and any role. Hell, he’s a true switch at heart when it comes to something like this. Loves just coming up to you and putting his arms around you. And if either of you are tired the chances of that happening increase exponentially. Nuzzles into you, adjusts himself so both of you are comfortable, might hum a small melody as well. Latter is something he sort of just picked up from Farah, but he likes the idea of humming a small tune to make you relax. Not too much of a talker, he just gets sleepy when he gets to cuddle you. If it isn’t too hot then you can expect him to grab a fluffy blanket and put it over the two of you, even if he doesn’t want to let you go. Nothing beats holding a loved one and hearing them talk about anything and everything while under a comfortable blanket.

Farah: Gives off the impression that she prefers to do the holding, loves being held just as much. It grounds her and reminds her of her cause. As mentioned, she might hum a tune when she’s very comfortable, or when she wants to calm you down. During night time, there’s a chance she might become just a tad more melancholic, but it won’t deter her from sleeping. She does sleep especially well if the both of you are cuddling. If she trusts you enough she can go any way with cuddling as well. Her and Alex seem to influence each other quite a bit. While she may not have the most time to cuddle with you, she does like to do so whenever she can, it reminds her of some good, gone-by times. Despite not liking to dwell too much on the past, there’s nothing wrong with remembering the nice things that have happened. Life can’t always be suffering.

Laswell: Not always too big on cuddling, but she does like it from time to time. When she’s had a rough and exhausting day, nothing beats holding a loved one under the covers. It’s those days that she sort of does think about being held from time to time, putting her head on your chest. Her job is rough, so having someone and something to do to decompress is a pleasant change of pace. Cuddles are infrequent, mostly because of her job requiring her to be everywhere at once, but it’s worth it when she does have the time. Not much of a talker when she’s just about to fall asleep, but doesn’t mind you talking either. She especially loves it when you tell her a funny anecdote or a joke, it’s something soft and easy to drift off to sleep to. Her brain goes haywire, even in her sleep, but when she falls asleep cuddling you then she dreams about you very often too.

Nikolai: You’d need to be especially close for some cuddles, but once you are, then you can just go for it. As long as he isn’t busy and you aren’t in public you can just walk up to him and wrap your arms around him. If you drag him onto a couch, a bed or any other soft surface he’ll just let you. It’s a bit funny to him, he lets you do just about anything, you get away with so much, even though, if he really wanted to, he could eliminate you in just about every way possible. Loves cradling your head and pressing it to his chest. More of a cuddler, but if you ask to hold him, you may. Takes a while to fall asleep, but if you’re awake to hear it, you can hear him slip up from time to time. In the linguistic sense. He knows eight languages, it’s not gonna get more coherent when he’s about to doze off. His grip, however, does not falter when he’s asleep. Once you’re stuck, you’re stuck with him and you won’t get out of his grasp until he wakes up again.

The Top Pets of 2023!

Hey everybody! I hope you’re all doing well, and I thank you for bearing with me with the last few weeks of hiatus. We may be a little over a week into 2024, but let’s take a step back and celebrate the top ten pet contenders of the year according to score!

Well, okay, top ten is a little bit of a stretch. As it turns out, there’s quite a few ties in the top ten scores, and we’re covering them all. This is gonna be a BIG post, so let’s get right into it!

TENTH PLACE

Our tenth place slot is shared by not one but four pokémon! In no particular order:

One of only two Mythical pokémon in our top ten(ish), Mesprit is a pokémon that comes with some caveats due to their lowercase-“l” legendary status. But hey, numbers are numbers!

Next up is another psychic-type, fan-favorite natu! Look at them! They’re looking at you!

Living, breathing keyring coming right up! If you’re adopting a klefki, you’re gonna want quite the supply of keys to keep em happy, but that’s nothing to a dedicated pet owner!

Finally, we’ve got eevee! Reliable, adorable, harmless, cuddly: eevees have it all. Be careful though, this species is one of the easiest pokémon to evolve by accident!

NINTH PLACE

We have two pokémon tied for ninth place! First,

Hey, it’s a recent one! Delibirds are great pet candidates! They’re known not just for looking a bit like a certain holiday icon, but for being exceptionally generous!

Another small Mythical pokémon, another A-tank pet with some pretty big caveats. The chances of any of us even running into Celebi are pretty low. But, if you happened to meet them, I’m sure they’d be delighted to be your houseguest… for a time, anyways. “Pet”? Ehhh…

EIGHTH PLACE

In eighth place, we’ve got a four-way tie again!

First up: silcoon! Uh… Well, silcoons get a “A?” Score for a reason. This pokémon would be the definition of a pet that doesn’t do much. But hey, that’s what some people might want!

I was very excited about this score. C’mon, it’s abra! These little teleporters are adorable! And very sleepy! So far, eighth place seems to be the “doesn’t do much” category…

Except for ditto! What can’t dittos do? Well, they can’t do much to harm anyone, but we can transform into any person, pokémon, or object they want! Dittos are great! You can’t go wrong with a ditto! Look how cute we are! Adopt a ditto today!

Wooloo! Eighth place ends with another normal-type pokémon, and another one that I personally was excited to see score so high. Wooloos might have my very favorite cry out of all thousand-or-so pokémon discovered thus far!

SEVENTH PLACE

Just two pokémon this time around…

What do you know, a “just-a-cat” pokémon made it into the top ten! Listen, as a real-world cat owner, I’m very biased towards any pokémon that resembles mine in either looks or behavior. Skitties are a great pet option. If I had one, I would name them Skittles.

Wow, it’s been a long while since we covered fidoughs, and yet they’ve held strong in the rankings all this time! Special shoutout to my sister, who requested this pokémon!

SIXTH PLACE

There are three pokémon tied for sixth place, so let’s keep it moving!

Speaking of pokémon we covered a long time ago, it’s squirtle! The only starter pokémon in the 2023 top ten, squirtles would make great pets for anyone who likes to play in the water and/or doesn’t mind getting splashed with water every once in a while. I also hear that they look pretty rad in sunglasses…

Spiky baby! Spiky baby! Spiky baby! (Enough said, honestly.)

Would you look at that, it’s a “just-a-bird” contender! Do you like birds? Do you want a pet bird? Do you want a really smart pet bird? Then a chatot may be just right for you!

FIFTH PLACE

Just one pokémon holds the fifth place crown this year and… hold on…aw man…

It’s…uh… it’s another cocoon pokémon. Don’t get me wrong, I think pokémon like metapod and silcoon are charming in their own ways, but I recognize that they’re not the most exciting species to end up in the top ten-ish of the year. To the metapod lovers: congratulations! To the metapod haters: sorry?

FOURTH PLACE

Almost there! The fourth place slot is taken up by a single pokémon as well:

Cherrims are the one and only plant-like pokémon in the 2023 top ten! If you’re looking for a sweet-smelling, low-maintenance pet, them cherrims might be just right for you!

THIRD PLACE

Third place is the last category with multiple pokémon! We’re almost there!

Look at that little celery bowl-cut! Ralts are a great option for pet owners looking to adopt a psychic or fairy-type pokémon! They may be in tune with your emotions, but be warned: your mood will affect a ralts’. Don’t look to a ralts for a emotional support pet!

Wow, psychic-type really seems to be holding strong in the 2023 top ten-ish! So long as you don’t have an aversion to a lot of noise, a chimecho would make a great pet!

SECOND PLACE

In second place, we have another pokémon that we covered pretty recently: alcremie! I personally would still hesitate a little bit, just because I don’t have a great grasp of how a pet made out of a substance that’s at the very least similar to whipped cream, which is so easily dissolved by just water. But hey, alcremies are great! Very few alcremies are the exact same with so many possible variations of appearance, which is an added bonus.

FIRST PLACE

Without further ado, the best pokémon pet candidate of 2023 is…

Chansey! This one caught me by surprise, especially given how large they are! Who’d have thought that a three-and-a-half foot creature would get the highest score? It really all comes down to their friendly disposition and healing abilities. This is a pokémon that isn’t only receptive to living alongside humans, they actively enjoy caring for humans and other pokémon! That being said, they’re surely not common pets: this is a remarkably illusive pokémon that is rarely caught by trainers, so adopting one might not be as easy as popping over to the shelter. Thankfully, they can be found in many regions of the world.

So there you have it, the top ten twenty-one pet candidates of 2023! I’ve said it again and again, but thank you so much for following along with this silly blog! I’m hoping that the blog continues to grow and be enjoyed in the coming year. How far will we get in the pokédex? Who knows! Who can even say how many new species will be discovered this year? We’ll have to just wait and see.

The other half of the rabbit was still inside the wrapping, and that's when you understood what happened: It turns out that Mi-hi managed to be even more curious and daring than her father. The two were so close and alike that sometimes you were stunned.

The face Mi-hi made when you didn't let her eat candy was the same one Jungkook gave you when you didn't bring him skittles when you came back from the supermarket. They both hated waking up early, while you practically bloomed from waking up early in the morning. They both frowned when you stopped paying attention to them to use your phone or do something else while you were with them, and even the way they smiled was the same. Mi-hi managed to have all of Jungkook's bravery and courage that led her to climb a tree with the other boys, but she also had her delicacy, and when she saw that she was on the heights, she screamed at the top of her lungs for her dad . It was funny how Jungkook would pop up from the ground if Mi-hi called out to him.

He would pluck her from any tree and spend sleepless nights to make sure she didn't fear monsters. He would go out of his way to show her how much he loved her.

But, back to the bunny incident: Mi-hi came running with the stuffed rabbit in her hand, the gift wrapper around her arm, and a smile on her face. You were sitting on the couch with Jungkook lying on your lap, completely passed out. Even now, with fewer schedules with the members, Jungkook's own schedule has never been fuller. Between promotions for his new album and campaigns for Calvin Klein and Balenciaga, Jungkook still managed to make sure he always had time for you and Mi-hi. That nothing was more important than family, and that he would do anything to make sure you both didn't forget that.

Mi-hi suddenly stopped her run when she saw you signaling to the sleepy Jungkook on your lap. "Daddy is sleeping, baby", You smiled at her, helping her remove the wrapping paper from her left arm without making too much noise. She nodded, mimicking a quiet 'shh' just like you did previously.

"Where did you get this?, baby", You pointed to the bunny that she was fully hugging by now.

"i saw it there", she said, pointing at the dining table on the other side of the room. You frowned, incapable of getting mad at her, that cute smile spread on her face.

"you know you can't take things like that, baby", you reprimanded her in a low tone, trying not wake Jungkook from his nap, but you knew him well enough to know that he wouldn't wake up even if Mi-hi was running around the house and screaming at the top of her lungs. At the beginning of dating Jungkook, you used to get irritated with the difficulty of waking him up, but in the end, you were content to understand that it was a gift. It had to be. It was a 'Jungkook thing'.

Mi-hi pouted, already sensing you were going to take away her new gift. "I'm sorry, mommy."

Her eyes filled with tears, ready to cry when you took the toy from her hand, but to her surprise, you didn't. Instead, you picked her up and placed her beside you, watching as she laid in the space that was left on your lap. With one hand busy holding the stuffed rabbit tightly, she cutely reached out to touch your face. "Love you, mommy", your not-so-little baby confessed, offering you a bunny smile, just like her father's often gave you.

Even though she was a copy of Jungkook, Mi-hi still had traits that were so similar to yours and, at the same time, nuances that were hers alone. She looked like her father and mother, but she wasn't like anyone else. She was Mi-hi. Yours and Jungkook's Mi-hi. Your beautiful joy.

Ah yes, these silly gooses

BEN was probably the first person to come up with the idea

Toby, wanting to do whatever everyone else was doing, obviously joined in

And for Jeff, he's just in it for the free drinks and snacks

And so, toby goes to their local grocery store and buys anything he thinks would suit the concoctions (as well as, of course, the airheads ropes)

When he gets back, the three of them clamor into BEN's room, excitedly talking about their ~fabulous~ idea

BEN turns on music and a t.v show (yes, both) and begins to help set everything up

Just to make it extra authetic, they even forced jeff to go downstairs to get some bowls to put this ungodly mixture in

And so, the potion making begins

BEN goes first, because he is rhe "expert" on this whole situation

A white monster, some sour patch kids, war heads, sour skittles, and of course, the airheads ropes

The other boys follow suite, mixing the elixers up, before abruptly stopping

Jeff looks at the two in front of him, "so uhh, what utensil do we use for this?"

Toby stares at their creations "i don't think god intended for there to be a utensil for something of this caliber..."

BEN shrugs "welp. Bone apple tit!" He says, taking the bowl in his hands and slurping up the candies and monster like a bowl of milk

The other two boys wait for a reaction out of BEN cautiously, not wanting to take any chances on their own

BEN puts the bowl down with a disgruntled look on his face "well, it's uh..."

The other two lean in

"It's not the worst thing I've ever had??"

That seems to be enough to satisfy jeff, as he is the next to grab his bowl and gulp down a big mouthful

He almost immediately sets the bowl down and wipes his watery eyes "jesus fucking christ! That shit is sour!"

BEN snorts and laughs at jeff as toby clicks his tongue "duh, we just put a bunch of sour candies in there, numbnuts!"

While Jeff chokes to death and BEN laughs, toby eyes his bowl for a moment longer before hesitantly picking it up and slurping the tiniest little sip

"Oh man, that's pretty good!" He exclaims

The night ends up with Jeff giving toby the rest of his bowl (which didn't end up finished because as it turns out, energy drinks make Toby sleepy instead of energized)

Jeff ends up destroying the toilet for the next hour or so, the mixture of sugars messed his stomach up pretty good

And BEN ended up laughing at Jeff some more as he finished off his bowl

The entire experience left them all with the same conclusion, "never again."

Mackenzie Hischer made her entrance in the middle of March, screaming her little face off as her mom and dad sighed in relief at her healthy and quick arrival. After everything Lexi and the baby went through a few months ago, this is the best gift the Hischier’s could have.

The next day, Lucie Hischier is dressed to the nines, holding her Auntie Emma’s hand in a brightly lit New Jersey hospital. Auntie Em has baby pink tulips in her hand for the newest Hischier. Lucie is dressed in a soft, yellow dress with a white bow in her hair. It’s been a day and a half since she has seen her parents. She is so nervous and excited and unsure about meeting her baby sister. The one that has been in her mommy’s big belly.

“Hi Luc.” Lexi calls softly from somewhere Lucie can’t see. Nico comes around the bed, grinning excitedly at his little girl.

“Daddy!” Lucie grins, rushing towards his stretched out arms. He brings her up into his chest, sighing happily.

Now, everything feels complete.

“You ready?” Nico murmurs.

“She is here!?” Lucie giggles to Nico, cupping his face. Nico sucks his mouth into a fishy then waits for Lucie to do the same. They smooch loudly, then both turn towards a sleepy Lexi, holding Mack. “Mama!” Lucie cries, reaching out for her. Nico sets their oldest next to Lexi who wraps her under her free arm.

“I have been missing you.” Lexi murmurs into her daughter’s hair. “So has your sister.” Lucie gasps, looking at the face of the baby she has been playing patty cake with for months.

“Baby.” Lucie whispers.

“Mackenzie Hischier, meet your older sister, Lucie.” Lucie isn’t sure why but fat tears form in her eyes when she looks down at the squishy bundle. She pats the baby’s face gently, feeling the soft, warm skin of Mackenzie’s cheek.

“What do you think?” Nico asks, rubbing Lucie’s back over her dress.

“She is little.”

“Yeah, she is bigger than you were though.”

“No!” Lucie giggles.

“Yeah, by half a pound.” Nico chuckles.

“Felt like it too.” Lexi jokes.

“How did she come out?” Lucie wonders. Lexi and Nico look at each other, both lost for words. They didn’t think about this question beforehand.

“How… do you think she came out?” Nico rephrases. Lexi nods, thinking that was a good redirect.

“Um, well, maybe mama sneezed and her tummy opened up and the baby floated out?”

“Mhm, sure.” Nico nods, then looks at his older sister laughing discreetly across the room. Emma knows her niece got that from Lio because that is what Timo told their son when he asked the same question about Livy.

“Why she look so much like daddy? She is supposed to look like me?”

“Baby, you look like daddy.”

“No!” Lucie gasps.

“Yes, your eyes… and your hair… and your dimples.” Lexi pushes two finger into her cheeks.

“But you have mama’s smile. Makes daddy weak.” Nico murmurs into Lucie’s hair, kissing her again.

“Can I have Skittles?” Lucie asks, using that smile on him.

All the adults in the room laugh.

“How about you hold your baby sister instead?” Lexi asks, slowly transitioning Mack to the other side with Nico’s help. They settle her into Lucie’s arms. Nico puts his hand under Mack’s neck to support her little head. Lucie gasps.

“Oh, I love her.” She sighs happily. “Hi baby. I love you!” She leans down to kiss Mack on her cheeks with sweet lips.

Lexi brings Nico in for an exhausted smooch. He brushes her hair back affectionately, surrounded by the babies their love created.

This moment couldn’t be anymore perfect.

You can’t help but look at him at any chance you get. It had only been a few weeks since you started as his assistant and you still couldn’t believe it. He was the highest ranking member of the clergy and you were assigned to work side by side with him on a daily basis. His voice was almost mesmerizing, even when he was on the phone just chatting.

You weren’t sure what to expect when working for him after all of the whispers and rumors about the other papas. You were pleasantly surprised. Papa was respectful and sweet. He asked you about your life outside of being his assistant, he asked about your favorite books and movies and foods. He really wanted to get to know you. After he found out what your favorite candy was (sour skittles), you came to work the next day with one of your drawers full of them. The only thing you could do was give him a bag full of reese’s peanut butter cups the next day to call it even.

Sometimes when you would glance at him, you would find him already looking at you. His eyes would widen and he would quickly look away. There were times when it would happen to you, too. You would be looking, he catches you, a quick blush would form on your cheeks and you would turn back to your papers.

After a few more weeks of working together, when he would catch your gaze you would hold it. The two of you would look at each other until you were both smiling and then return to work. It felt unprofessional but if both of you were doing it, did it matter? You started to find yourself daydreaming when you weren’t around him, thinking of him in a way that was definitely unprofessional.

One night, deadlines had the two of you working late. The sun set and you both still had your noses to your desks, offering small updates or asking quick questions of each other as the hours passed. Your eyes start to grow heavy after a while and you sit back, needing a break from trying to make sense of financial statements. You feel a strong hand on your shoulder and nearly jump, a sharp gasp falling from your lips.

“Oh! I-I’m sorry, sorella.” He squeezes your shoulder and you twist around in your chair to look up at him. “I just, eh, wanted to make sure you were still awake.”

“I am getting sleepy but I’m up.” You rub at your eyes. Copia is so close to you now that you can smell his cologne. His grip on your shoulder loosens as he walks in front of you to lean against your desk. He is smiling faintly, his eyes twinkling in the lowlight.

“I have a question for you, cara.”

“Of course, Papa. What is it?”

“You love me?” His question hangs in the air as your mouth drops open. You feel your face flush but the way he’s looking at you right now makes you realize it was true. It wasn’t just a crush – you loved him. You loved the way his eyes would crinkle when he would smile. You loved how he would say goodnight to his rats each night before retiring to his quarters. And more than anything, you loved the way he looked at you.

“Yeah, I do.” You all but whisper, your hands fidgeting in your lap but you’re unable to look away from him. He leans down to you and his gloved hand brushes against your cheek. You suck in a sharp breath. Even through the gloves you can feel how warm he is.

“I love you, too…” Copia hums and leans in to press a soft kiss to your forehead. He said it back. He said it back and your brain completely blanks. When he pulls away, you’re smiling like an idiot and your eyes have lit up in a way he hasn’t seen since you discovered the drawer of sour skittles. “Let us get some rest, si? The, e-eh… papers will still be here in the morning.”
