This photo was taken last summer at Fairy Glen on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. It is a mysterious and enchanting place.In the heart of nature, it is a magical place that moved me and inspired me this image of Sabbath. But this place is not at all natural ... It seems that the "Witch" movement, puts in the spotlight the Nature. Its power and beauty. I see on the social medias, photos of nature, forests, which often seem just to be there to show a pretty person in new clothes. Great ! But in reality, our Nature, our forests in France and in Europe are dying. We have no memory of wild forest. Besides, most of the "natural" places we see, are not natural. Forests are exploited, watercourses are controlled, animals are tamed. Man is everywhere! Forests are huge gardens, built, maintained, tidy, clean? At this time, we learn the management of forests in a maximum productionist perspective! And we eliminate all "pests"! It's a lot less romantic ... I live in the forest and some "magic" practices, that I observe, participate in the destruction of Nature: the pile of stones that destroy the habitats of many animals and insects (see article), the "hugs" to trees that trampling their roots and pushing them little by little towards the grave ... The candle wax is not biodegradable, most of the time they are petroleum derivatives, and the ribbons of the offerings too ... There are so few old trees today, should not we leave them in peace? They are so rare that they seem extraordinary, isn't it unfortunate.

JOUR 10 : "WITCHCRAFT" Photographer and model : Psyché Ophiuchus Cette photo a été réalisée l’été dernier à Fairy Glen sur l’île de Skye, Ecosse. C’est un lieu mystérieux et enchanteur.En pleine nature, c’est un endroit magique qui m’a emportée et inspirée cette image d’une sorte de Sabbat. Pourtant ce lieu n’est pas du tout naturel… Il semble que le mouvement « Witch », remette sur le devant de la scène la Nature. Sa Puissance et sa Beauté. Je vois sur les réseaux, des photos de nature, de forêts, qui semblent souvent juste être là pour montrer une jolie personne, dans des vêtement neufs, sans se poser de question. Très bien, mais dans la réalité, notre Nature, nos forêts en France et en Europe se meurent. Nous n’avons aucun souvenir de forêt à l’état sauvage. D’ailleurs la plupart des lieux « naturels » que nous voyons ne le sont pas. Les forêts sont exploitées, les cours d’eau contrôlés, les animaux domptés. L’homme est partout ! Les forêts sont d’ immenses jardins, construits, entretenus, rangés, propres ? A l’heure actuelle, on apprend la gestion des forêts dans une optique productiviste maximale ! Et on élimine tous "nuisibles" ! C’est beaucoup moins romantique... J’habite en forêt et certaines pratiques « magiques » que j’observe participent à la destruction de la Nature : les entassements de pierres qui détruisent l’habitats de nombreux animaux et insectes (cf. article), les « câlins » aux arbres qui piétinement leurs racines et les poussent, petit à petit, vers la tombe… La cire de bougie n’est pas biodégradable, la plupart du temps ce sont des dérivés de pétrole, et les rubans des offrandes également… Il existent tellement peu d’arbres centenaires de nos jours, ne faudrait-il pas les laisser tranquille ? Ils sont tellement rares qu’ils nous paraissent extraordinaires, n’est-ce pas malheureux.

I met this 'wee beastie' few years back when I was visiting my parents on the Isle of Skye (they ran the Cuillins Campsite). The Highland Cattle, or 'heilan coo' are the oldest registered breed in the world and though smaller than other cows, will eat almost anything! I saw some recently on Dartmoor in Devon.
