thinking abt steve n eddie and steve just. being a gentleman? all the bells and whistles, checks all the boxes—holds the door open, flowers, etc—and like sure, some of that comes from his upbringing and his family and The Harrington Status and whatever, but it’s also super clear that steve’s just. like that. like he’s so. so painfully happy to sweep nancy off her feet at the beginning of their relationship.
and like, the thing is. nancy doesn’t like that. i mean sure, she can be as charmed by it as the next girl, but i don’t think she necessarily wants it. she wants more than to just be treated like a girl, she’s been chased by guys all her life, and i think where steve feels like he’s treating her special, nancy feels like she’s being put into a box that she’s not meant to be in. they just… don’t match up in that way.
but eddie. eddie, who’s been shunned all his life in different ways for different reasons. i think eddie wants that special treatment. eddie deserves to be treated with gentleness and love, god fucking damn it. and i don’t think he ever expected to get it—esp if this is the 80’s.
so i imagine that at the beginning of their relationship, when they’re still kinda feeling things out and figuring out what their dynamic is, steve tries really really hard to just. like. treat eddie like one of the guys?? to make it obvious that eddie isn’t just some girl to him? that he knows that eddie’s different, and not just bc he’s a guy, and steve’s not just abt to pretend to ignore that. but steve’s relationship skills start and end with high school girls, so sooner or later i imagine that his romantic gestures have to turn to candle-lit dinners and chocolate and roses at some point.
and he’s kinda expecting eddie to poke fun at it or make fun of ‘king steve’ for thinking that he could… could woo eddie with a fucking bouquet of tiger lilies (that he bought bc he passed a florist and the flowers reminded him of eddie, alright?) all bc some wannabe prom queen would’ve eaten that shit up w a spoon. and eddie wouldn’t, probably. it’s exactly smth eddie would’ve made fun of him for when they were both in school. which is to say: steve almost aborts the whole thing and tosses the flowers in the trash and—he has a lot of second thoughts, okay? but then eddie is already coming out of the wheeler’s house, dnd materials packed away in the bag over his shoulder, and he’s already spotted the flowers and well, it’s too late now.
which actually works out, bc eddie seems to… like the flowers? he doesn’t exactly swoon like a victorian maiden, but he does blush a bit and smile and knock his shoulder into steve’s before he claims shotgun, much to dustin’s dismay. and when steve’s over at eddie’s place a few days later, they’re in a glass of water (literal drinking glass, maybe a mug, bc eddie munson sure as hell doesn’t own any vases) and, yknow, kinda wilted but still hanging in there, adding a pop of color to the place from the center of eddie’s dining table.
and steve doesn’t exactly have a lightbulb moment at that point, it’s not quite enough to spark the realization, but it does open the floodgates for more ‘traditionally’ romantic gestures. at one point steve opens a car door for him and eddie’s so confused but by god he loves it.
y’all. i just want eddie to be cradled w care and affection like he deserves.

Can you tell us more about Bjallae and Sina since you said they were some of the ocs you are the most attached to ?
Oh !
The two come from VERY different stories haha, although both are fantasy based
Bjallae is my dabloonsona ( from the dabloon trend of last year)
She is the grandaugther of the previous High Mage, and lost her parent to the plague a few years prior to the current point in the little story.
Despite their family being a long line of mages, Bjal herself has very little magic and cannot use spells. But the magic they do have is miracle based and she uses it unconsciously
Bjallae became a traveling shopkeeper, she sells stuff she finds or makes herself, very crafty !
Other infos : Bjal is nonbinary, she/they, and has a pet dwagoon named Loull
Meanwhile, Sina is an oc I've had since I was around 11 or 12
She's the unfortunate young empress of the empire of the Synaria planet
The Synaria story is super duper complicated, but the gist of it is that Sina is a vessel choosen by spirits to rule. She was born with very powerful magic, and received even more from the spirits on top of that, making her overpowered. Thing is, it makes her own magic dangerous for her, to a point she cannot use it without anti mana stones, or it'd be very basic spells accessible to children under 7 years old which is ironic.
Too much power but it'd kill her to use it
I'm still revamping the Synaria story. Kid me had written it to be a power fantasy, but now I'm going deeper in power and religious corruption and how Sina's magic affects the planet and her people. The Empress and other monarchs around her are between the age of 14 and 20, which is, understably, super fucking young ( the previous monarchs died in a war )
So there is a lot of hidden overthrowing plots against the monarchs and lots of levels of storytelling about the whole world they live it

heres another map of thrae- this one is for language families!! almost all countries have their own unique language, but these are the main groups :) brief descriptions of each under the cut
classical elventongue- yostinthe, roan-crest west of the helmswatchers, dorma, surface-noct, metropolitan areas of the static coast, southern kolaxia and the shroud, coastal verdantia, and the edges of the cradle. most resembles latin and other romance languages- true elventongue is the language of most ancient academia and is almost identical to latin.
ezrathian- although its only spoken in ezzerath, ezrathaian's influence is far reaching, with words/roots from it appearing in almost every language. it is a harsh, germanic-sounding language.
old mannish- spoken exclusively in the cradle, especially in rural areas. strongly resembles celtic and britonic languages, and one of the primary roots for draconic and later worldspeak.
meridial- formerly known as the southern tongues, spoken in the ashwild, kul-wrang, inner verdantia, and the rural static coast. primarily resembles afroasiatic languages, although the kul-wrangi dialect is more heavily niger-congo.
draconic- official language of the dragonlands, although its influence can be seen in far southwestern aldenne and the midwestern cradle. essentially a combination of old mannish and ezrathian, giving it a sound somewhere between britonic and germanic.
nordic elvish- a vast, diverse language family spoken in maelstrom, aldenne, kolaxia, the central shroud, southern quon and glacale, and roan-crest east of the helmswatchers. this group should actually be separated into two- west of the grinsmaw is west nordic elvish, which resembles slavic languages, and eastern nordic elvish is east of the grinsmaw, and is more strongly sino-tibetan.
hyperborean- the far north languages of thrae, spoken in the northern shroud, glacale, and quon. similar to scandinavian languages, with some slavic/germanic influence.
woodfolk sign- used in greatwald, cradlewood, the verdant, and summertree. woodfolk lack a spoken language due to the importance of their hearing in their culture and magic, but they have a unique sign language composed mostly of simple, two-syllable signs to communicate basic information.
click- only spoken in the caverns of noct. could be described as being similar to classical elventongue, but is based almost entirely around echolocation. full of difficult-to-pronounce sounds, pitch changes are crucial to this language.
metoric- the native language of the deosil, now entirely extinct. this language is incredibly complicated and impossible for non-deosil to pronounce due to the highly specific larynx needed to produce what sounds like random noise to the average listener.

So I have a save in the sims 4 for usuk and I also made the rest of the UK brothers, Matthew and recently Francis. Alfred and Arthur got engaged and I decided to make a family reunion kinda thing and had Alfred, Matthew, Arthur and his brother's together. Everything was normal and fine unTIL ALL OF ARTHUR’S BROTHER'S STARTED HITTING ON ALFRED, LIKE OMG. And Arthur was literally sitting right in front of them, smiling as if it was the most normal thing ever. First Dylan (Wales) started flirting with him. Then Seamus (N. Ireland) started hitting on him and blowing him kisses. Then Alistair literally just GRABBED him and KISSED him right behind Arthur and he's like??? So OK?? With it, like huh??? Usually sims get immediately jealous but Arthur didn't even bat an eye on it and it was the funniest and most confusing thing I have ever witnessed omg.

i just spent over an hour writing new npc info on the character page, all for nothing. i looked up armenian names on another tab for a minute too long and tumblr decided to throw a tantrum and refresh on its own.

More Sycadad
Augustine babysat Calem before Grace fully retired. All of Sycamore's team absolutely adore the kid, and while their all very gentle, it doesn't make a Garchomp playing with a small child any less nerve racking. They'd watch the Rhyhorn race on TV and cheer for Grace before the kid would eventually pass out curled up against their dad on the couch.
Sina and Dexio immediately took their role of being big siblings, since Sycamore has basically adopted them already. They encourage Calem to play with the 6'3 dragon (presumably wanting to follow in Sycamore's footsteps by making their mentor's hair go prematurely grey)
Trevor also hangs around the lab often, especially while his sister's working (another kid Sycamore unofficially adopted) So he and Calem had little playdates, which was initially them just.. staring at eachother before Trevor would get nervous and cling to his dad's the professor's leg. Eventually they started talking about pokemon, and got somewhat close. (Though they were like eight, and Calem didn't visit Kalos very often. So they probably didn't even remember until Sycamore got the pictures out)

very un-aesthetic pic of lottie wearing some fun new clothes on my couch + some rambling below haha
i have spent the past week and a half feeling Unwell™️ and in and out of the er and drs appointments trying to figure out what exactly happened that made me feel so bad/be in so much pain and if it will happen again so i have been neglecting the gals + lemon. they have brought me a lot of joy to look at from my bed where they are displayed next to my window (very glad that i had them visible- looking at screens or reading was tough so i was super bored) and idk sometimes I'm just glad that i found this hobby way back when i was a kid and that i have gathered my lil collection of cute dolls :)
i have started to feel a lot better and will hopefully be able to spend some time in the upcoming week or so taking and editing more pictures. i have some of jaellis from a while ago that i like, but I'm not sure what kind of editing i want to do to them so i'll have to look around on youtube for some fun photoshop tutorials. i do also really need to put kips in sina/lemon. i've had the materials sitting on my desk for like. three weeks now lol

a linguist* plays chants of sennaar (pt 1)
*i studied linguistics for four years and concurrently did three years of sociolinguistics research, but i'm not currently employed in a linguistics-related field.

thought i'd have some fun breaking down the languages in cos and stretch my rarely used linguistics muscles in the process! disclaimer: can't promise that i'll have any insights that a layperson wouldn't have, this is kinda just me thinking through the grammar of the language out loud haha.
this post covers the first language and will contain spoilers! it also assumes that you know what each of the symbols means already.
so the three glyphs from the devotee's language that you get introduced to right off the bat already tells me a lot: it's a pictographic logography (real life example: chinese characters), which is probably a good place to start for people who are new to language deciphering (also, none of these languages are spoken so an alphabet would be pointless lol). a logography is a writing system that represents whole words/concepts with a single character, as opposed to representing the sounds that the words make (like alphabets or syllabaries). i haven't completely finished the game yet (most of the way through the fourth language), but i'm p sure 1) all of the languages are logographies and 2) the devotee's language is the most true-to-life with its pictograms.
with these three words we can also begin to establish a pattern--verbs most likely have a line on the bottom, which holds true for the rest of the characters. i think the only exception to this rule is the character for "greeting", which is also used as the verb "salute" later in the game (an interesting choice (considering etymologies for greetings in irl languages), but it makes sense when your language is only 40 words lol). other patterns include the curved line for tools, the semi-open box for structures/locations, and the half-circle with the line for things relating to sight (which amusingly is also the overall game symbol for examining something). (not gonna include things like "man" and "music" and "plant" in this list cause they're defined in game.) i do think it's kind of fun that they introduced "i/me" and "you" before they introduced "man"—it validates that you'll find patterns haha.
(while writing the prev paragraph, it finally hit me that the symbol for "key" is open-tool. isn't that cool!)
i did notice at one point in the game that there was a devotee word that was cut off in one of the stone carvings that looked like it might have been the equivalent for "fortress"--it was the room radical with the two opposing arrows from the word for "warrior". although it's not validated by the game's automatic translation function, it does seem to be evidence that the language elements are fairly flexible and recombinable!
this language is SVO (subject verb object), like english, which again is a choice that makes sense in terms of easing people in. it uses reduplication with nouns to indicate plurality, which as far as i can tell is unique amongst the languages in this game. there's no tense markers, which is common to all the languages in this game (again, as far as i can tell without having encountered the last language yet). given how simple the languages in the game need to be, i'm not surprised that there aren't really auxiliary verbs or indications of infinitives either.
questions that still remain unanswered:
- "dead/death", "seek", and "find" all have dots that don't show up in the other characters. not sure why that's the case. could be a representation of something metaphysical?
- the character for "go/pass" has a "room" radical on the right side and something else on the left side. wonder if that was intentional

CPN : random thoughts 🍬🍭
dumping some minor cpns that has popped up here and there for convenience. as usual, i need one space to ramble.
I also want to take this opportunity to applaud yibo-official for releasing that 1 hour + bts footage. They just went f*ck it and didn’t bother splicing it, they went ahead and dropped it on us out of nowhere. maybe one day they can post an hour long yibo vlog or photo set of yibo selfies. you know. just a suggestion. lol. The last post they made seemed like the final HB related content to share but apparently not. I am so thankful! This is best 3/14 gift!!!! I guess this is also a treat for “yibo movie fans” all over the world who continue to show their support for the overseas screenings.
1. Back in January, YBO posted for HB reaching 300 million in the box office and emphasis on the 3 ( zhan ). People have noticed that this scene looks like it was shot 10/5/2021 — ZZ’s birthday. What a coincidence that they chose this photo to be assigned to the number 3.
2. The way they dropped this big BTS content is reminding us of how the CQL 160 minutes bts was shared before. Is this them taking a page out of that? If there is something turtles are good at, it’s going through hours and hours of BTS footage! This is nothing to us!!! 😂😂😂😂
3. Also this was edited heavily, i can only imagine how many hours of footage they have. The selection of clips and what they can show. The music and it’s arrangement. going back to XZS being quiet — it’s a cpn that the two teams probably worked on this because the project is too big to accomplish by one group only. or maybe it needs a sign-off from the creative director xiao zhan. lol.
The important part of YBO’s post tho is their caption. Especially the part which said : Everything about Mr. Ye is dedicated to all fans of @UNIQ-王一博
I don’t know how many times I have said that Yibo is really making the necessary steps to make himself more mainstream. by that i mean, shedding the title of traffic star. the label itself isn’t all that bad tbh. lots of artists would kill to have the same traffic he does so they can have more endorsements and better scripts their way. however, i observed that he is transitioning to being an actor who hopefully will be loved by a lot of people and not just his core fans. The same goes for XZ, tho he is having a harder time staying away from being a traffic star and his own rice circle. I am in no way discrediting 🍤 or 🏍️, I just mean that the end game for the boys is to be a national celebrity. This transition leaves a lot of responsibility to existing fans like us, to be more welcoming to the new ones. This is why I get so mad when fans pay more attention to drama and fan wars cause it turns off potential supporters. It’s a huge red flag seeing a toxic fan group. I really hope one day, things do settle down and fans learn to be more chill.
4. Another ZSWW cute rumor posted said that WYB will still fuss when he sees old BTS videos of XZ scolding him. So XZ’s advice is to not scold the one you like even if you are jealous — who knows, you might end up together. This is too funny cause we know how fierce ZZ was with WYB, sometimes it’s already scary and you can tell the times he was jealous. 😂😂😂
5. Lastly, Weibo night posted some drama CPs and put it as a 9 grid photo. The pairings are not the most interesting part tho, it’s the top comments. 🤡

But i’m feeling petty today so i’m cackling. That’s all. You ask us about a CP? Okay, how about we clown you? I have no love for Sina Weibo and WB night at all so i don’t feel sorry for them or anything. We are just telling the truth, the pairing of XZ & WYB is truly superior. You ask, we answered. What I said about being careful is still true but sometimes you just don’t give a f*ck. It is what it is. 🤡🤡🤡

I'm pretty sure you already know Ethlynn, she's one of the ocs I show the most in general. I created Ethlynn around the same time I made Sina, and the story always has been centered around dreams... although at first it was centered more about Ethlynn being an outcast. Since then I rewrote everything
Ethlynn's story is in three arcs, starting from when she's 13 to roughly late 20s
At tye current point at which I present her she's 17-18
Ethlynn litterally grew up with me ! I was 13 when I made her, hence why the first act starts at that age for her
Currently I'm in my early 20s and so is she, although she's still transitionning to adulthood
And lastly she'll have an other arc as she approaches the 30s
Now
None of that is written lmao it's just bunch of notes and chapter plans
But I'm getting there !
The Welcome Home fandom will also know Ethlynn as Nyxie's mom ! The two being dreamwalkers and Ethlynn being responsible for Nyxie's condition, she had to take care of the puppet and teach her everything before sending her to WH
This related a lot to the deep Nyxie lore
Now moving on to Orichalque
Orichalque is also a very old oc, the first one I made when I started reading Warrior Cats. But she didn't stay a WC oc very long, as I made her into a sona and then gave her a new story
Now, in the current story, there are two "Orichalque"s
'Orichalque"- the one you will meet in Pause Garden
'Auricalque" - the warrior cat version of my lil' fanfic Star Path

I'm bored so I filled this thing and I'm gonna rave about each individual slider(?) and their dynamic because I can. (This is a usuk blog mainly after all lol)
I'll only go in depth for certain ones not all of them btw.
It's under the cut since it's quite long, I really decided to info dumb lol.
(All of these are personal headcanons which you can obviously disagree with, I just wanted to share what's in my head)
(Also note that most of these headcanons are mostly for the human Au but some also apply for canon too)
So for genders:
Arthur: Tbh I've always kinda flipped between him being cis or trans but recently I've been leaning more towards trans just because it feels right for me. He feels comfortable wearing suits just as well as dresses (because clothes don't take away or add to trans men's masculinity in my opinion, it's just a piece of cloth). I also sometimes headcanon for Arthur that he uses they/them pronounces too but I haven't really settled on it yet.
Alfred: He's just a cis man. I've also sometimes considered him using they/them as well as he/him and other times I've thought of Alfred just being non-binary but I also still haven't settled for which yet. While Alfred dresses mostly in pants I think he also doesn't mind wearing skirts for fun (he also thinks they're super comfortable!) But yeah Hoodies, Jean's, and sweatpants are his usual go to fits.
Sexuality:
Alfred: I have always headcanoned him as bi honestly but recently I have been leaning into him being biromantic and demisexual. I hc Alfred that he hadn’t even realised he was demisexual until way later (probably after he met Arthur). Like he had always known he swung both ways and has flirted a few times here and there but when it came down to serious business he either felt uncomfortable or confused. He had tried watching pron but never found it as interesting as his peers made it sound like. The way the relationship between Alfred and Arthur has developed was from friendship, Alfred found himself craving Arthur more the more they spent time together (but not sexually) and eventually after they started going out and Alfred has developed a deep connection with Arthur, he found himself also craving him sexually but he was confused because it was somewhat foreign to him, when he had talked about it with Arthur, he found out through him what demisexuality means.
Frequently Argues:
By frequently argues I mostly mean that they tend to bicker like and old, married couple and not necessarily viciously. Sure, sometimes they have serious fights but at the end of the day they talk about it and make up. Arthur tends to nag more, and it's usually like: "Alfred fold your clothes", "Alfred don't leave the bathroom light on when you're not using it.", "don't leave cans scattered about", etc. Alfred prefers to avoid arguing with Arthur but sometimes he'll snap if he's in a bad mood, but he'll always come back and apologise because guilt eats him up once he cools down.
Crybaby:
Arthur is a huge crybaby in my opinion and no one can convince me otherwise. He acts tough and all but he's actually a softie. Although horror movies don't affect him at all, he's the type of person who cries while watching a sad scene in a romantic movie or a scene that is overwhelmingly wholesome and happy. Alfred had teased him a couple of times for it but he secretly thinks it's adorable and loves holding him close to comfort him. Alfred is also quite emotional himself and also cries at emotional scenes (he absolutely bawled at Gwen's death scene from that one spiderman movie, and they both cried during the titanic).
Overprotective:
Alfred and Arthur cherish each other and they're not scared of throwing hands if anyone hurts the other. When Arthur runs into transphobes, Alfred immediately goes into attack mode (not necessarily physically, sometimes anyway) at whoever they are and becomes absolutely furious and while Arthur could easily handle them on his own he secretly enjoys it when Alfred jumps in to defend him with so much fierceness. Viceversa, Arthur gets mad at anyone who makes Alfred feel insicure about himself, and he definitely goes, "He's my idiot and I'm the only one who can call him that!" When someone calls Alfred stupid or an idiot.
Secretive vs Openbook:
In here I don't mean that Arthur doesn't trust Alfred specifically but he has trust issues in general. While yes at the beginning of the friendship Arthur was much more secretive, the more he had gotten to know Alfred, the more he felt comfortable sharing more and opening up a bit and although at the beginning of the relationship there were some communication issues, and misunderstandings (mainly on Arthur’s side) they slowly made fixed their way through it and Arthur feels much more comfortable expressing himself to Alfred although he still struggles with strangers and some friends. Alfred on the other hand is literally an open book, you could look at his face and know exactly what's going through his head except for the few times when he deliberately chooses to conceal his thoughts but those are on rarer occasions.
Gives Gifts vs Does Favors:
Arthur loves making handmade things and giving them as gifts. He had knitted for Alfred countless of sweaters, scarves, hats, and even once knitted him an alien plushie which Alfred absolutely adores and is a necessity for him to sleep with ever since he received it. Alfred on the other hand likes doing things for Arthur even he doesn't necessarily need the favor but he won't complain if Alfred insists on fixing his stuff or running errands for him or drives him to his appointments even when he can go on his own and the poor guy will get horribly bored during it.
Sporty vs Dormant:
While Alfred does like spending hours playing video games, he also likes being active and unless he's fixated on a game he is very hyper and jittery. When he can't go outside for whatever reason, he will pace the entirety of the house, follow Arthur around, move about the bookshelves sometimes he randomly starts doing mini workouts in the middle of the living room and Arthur swears that the American will climb the walls if he could soon. When he can go outside, he loves running, playing with dogs at the park, playing with the neighbourhood children, sometimes he goes as far to running errands for the neighbours and Arthur will have to drag his ass back home to cuddle with him or eat his food. Arthur on the other hand prefers lounging somewhere with a book or a knitting/embroidery project as he listens to his favourite music and sips his tea. Whenever Alfred drags him outside, he stars whining and complaining and it usually goes something like this: "My feet hurt. Are we done yet? Ugghhh, it's so hot/ I'm bloody freezing. Can we go home now? Do you have to play with every dog you see? Can we go and relax somewhere? I want to go home." And Alfred sometimes finds it amusing while replying with a "Stop whining like a spoiled brat." Which usually raises Arthur’s hackles.
Submissive vs Dominant:
I honestly don't mind it at all when people write Arthur as submissive but I personally headcanon him to be quiet feisty and kind of a brat too which Alfred does like, he finds it interesting. When it's in bed, I like to think Arthur is either a power bottom or just a brat who likes testing Alfred's patience, maybe both lol. Alfred finds it both frustrating and exhilarating.
Kinky vs Vanilla:
We all know damn well who introduced who into the kinky devil's tango lol but yeah Arthur was initially worried Alfred wouldn't like kinky things such as handcuffing, gagging, etch, etc what's with him being demisexual, he wasn't sure how much the other was willing to try but was pleasantly surprised when Alfred agreed and even started initiating kinky things after he was introduced to it (I'm trying to remain sfw as much as I can here).
