Magic Lessons

This was a commission for ShySims4 and I've got to say I had a LOT of fun with it! The pack contains 4 paired poses between an adult and child, and two solo child poses. All child poses also have three expression variations: determined/focused, happy, and sad. Oh, and you can use the child poses from the paired sets as solo poses, too.

I don't normally edit my cover photos unless the poses were used in my story, but I couldn't resist with this one. 🤭

Well hey, look at me having a spellcaster who I'm actually invested in!

This is Ethren Reyes, a gallery download who canonically was the Sage of Practical Magic prior to Simeon Silversweater. I think it's fairly obvious that he's shortly to become the Occult Daddy of this save. As my Kristopher seems to be more petulant than most, I've decided that this will irritate Kristopher to no end.

MAX: You’re shorter than me, you have no room to call anybody a hobbit, Smurfette.

GEMMA: When I get down from here you’re getting turned into a rat too! MAX: If you can get down from there, why do you need me to call off “Lurch”? [he smirks smugly, perking a brow in her general direction.]

WOLFGANG: [As Gemma continues to struggle in her attempt to free herself, he tips his head to the side thoughtfully as if he’s suddenly noticed something, setting her down perhaps not as gently as he could have before he leans in to get right in her face, narrowing his eyes into an uncomfortably keen gaze that catches her off guard a little.] Huh…

GEMMA: Ec– Hey. Excuse you? [She blinks a few times in utter confusion, leaning back a little bit to put some distance between them.] Is there a reason you’re invading my bubble or –?

WOLFGANG: [Snickering with a roll of his eyes, he shakes his head at her question, turning around momentarily and reaching out to grab her phone out of Max’s hand before he offers it back to her.] I guess I have to call you something besides killer-bait now.

WOLFGANG: Because your eyes are green, smart-ass. Like… there’s some brown there, but still, mostly like dark green.

GLIMMERSTONE OVERHAUL 1.0

We don't know about you, but we're both incredibly frustrated by the fact that the heart of magic, the Glimmerstone, is just an icon in the inventory, completely unattainable by the player. So we've decided to create our own stone that performs all the functions of the Glimmerstone and even a little more!

USAGE

First, all existing spellcasters have their in-game stone replaced with our custom stone. New spellcasters have a custom stone right away. It appears first in the inventory, but can later be moved into the world either by interaction or by dragging with the mouse.

If your spellcaster sim places the stone in the world, these interactions will be available:

The important part is that other sims (neither spellcasters nor regular humans) can't use a stone that doesn't belong to them - the only available option is putting in the inventory:

When the stone is destroyed by sim a magical animation is played:

The same animation is played when the sim gives up on magic. This interaction is similar to the rite of dissolution except you don't have to interact with a sage of magic anymore. And, of course, this interaction turns the spellcaster into an ordinary person. The stone also dissapears:

And if something s is wrong with the stone replacement you can contact us and also use this command in the cheat console (Ctrl + Shift + C): replace_stone Sim_first_name Sim_last_name

INSTALLATION

Place the unzipped attached archive directly in the Mods folder since the mod contains ts4script file.

TRANSLATE

English and Russian translates are included.

CONFLICTS

This mod overrides loot_WitchOccult_GiveGlimmerstone and social_WitchOccult_RequestGlimmerstone so it will conflict with any mod that overrides these tunings!

This save was somewhat cooperating today, so Theodora managed to hold her weekly Occult party. Then everyone got the FIRE FIRE! moodlet.

It was kind of funny to watch these Occult Big Bads (and a few token mortals) completely lose it while Theodora just coolly sauntered over, looked the fire dead in the eye and ended its life.

Then they all ran outside, except for Vlad who remained at the scene of the crime cackling like a maniac. I mean, if it fits anyone...

The incense was at fault, which really means it was everyone else's fault for showing up in such glum moods. I mean, Theodora just added a bit of sandalwood to get you all to lighten up, geez.

(And poor Wolfgang was crying, which could be his GLOOMY trait at work, buuut in my headcanon he now has a traumatic past experience with fire.)

(Yes, we have started spawning. I'll add more on that another time.)
