i see my peers with interest in ornithology collecting lifers (i.e. "life list" - list of all bird species they saw in their life, people aim to see rare species while travelling, to add them to theirs), meanwhile i am mesmerized by pretty much any bird species doing anything
there's this guy who saw some rare pipit, totally happy and im like, aaaaa, it wouldnt even occur to me to chase some rare pipits, theres so much to see

Tumblr/Twitter when they love a movie in which the villain species came where the good guys' species lives, passed as good at first by earning their trust and brought "civilization" but then show their true colors and exploit, destroy and kill : This is an anti-colonialism movie :) awesome allegory, very deep
Tumblr/Twitter when they dislike a movie in which the villain species came where the good guys' species lives, passed as good at first by earning their trust and brought "civilization" but then show their true colors and exploit, destroy and kill : THIS IS AN ANTI-IMMIGRANT MOVIE WE HAVE TO CANCEL IT >:(

Honestly I wanted a LoA book where MC gets an urgent call from their family and must go back to their country bumpkin state with your main LI/Ricci and Associates to end up helping solve a case “close to home.”
I would’ve liked Gabe witnessing where MC grew up, meeting their parents/siblings. Maybe the country would be too much for him to take in, conflict between the couple ensues, and is rife for potential developments in their relationship. I would’ve liked to see Gigi and Beau and Ash and Joaquin there learning about MC, where they came from as far as law school/experience. I think that could’ve been a fun way to end the series 😢😢😢

"Uma vida tranquila e reclusa no campo, com a possibilidade de ser útil a pessoas a quem é fácil fazer o bem e que não estão habituadas a que isso lhes seja feito; então, trabalho que se espera possa ser de alguma utilidade; depois o descanso, a natureza, os livros, a música, o amor ao próximo – tal é a minha ideia de felicidade."

Hey ho, quick rant cause I keep seeing this discourse pop up on Twitter…
Self diagnosis is perfectly valid for a myriad of reasons. Many people (including myself) can’t get a professional diagnosis due to our income, where we live, our gender, our race, etc. I wish getting a diagnosis is simple but truth be told… it isn’t. This applies to physical illnesses too, not just neurodevelopmental or mental health disorders.
For example, I’m chronically ill. I’ve talked about that a lot on here. I am diagnosed with GERD and have suffered with it for 3-4 years. However, it took me a whole year to get myself properly diagnosed and medicated.
I went to multiple doctors and had several checkups. They all told me I was fine when I obviously wasn’t. I didn’t know what was wrong with me until I took it upon myself to research about multiple gastrointestinal diseases. I stumbled upon GERD and noticed I had all the symptoms. Then boom, when I mentioned that possibility to a doctor, they finally got me diagnosed and I got medication.
Self-diagnosis is one of the first steps to getting a proper diagnosis. Some of us can’t afford to do the next step, though. I personally believe that’s okay as long as you do extensive research on what you think you have.
Afterall, you know what you deal with. I know damn well I’m neurodivergent and I don’t want to waste thousands just to get someone to tell me what I already know. Plus, I’d risk getting my healthcare and privileges taken away.
Just know that not every self diagnoser is “trying to be quirky”. Majority aren’t like that. They just want to understand themselves better and realize what’s wrong with them. No one wants to be ill and no one wants to be apart of a minority that gets oppressed and misunderstood.
And don’t blame these people because “they make real diagnosed people look ridiculous”. We’ve always looked ridiculous to “normal” people regardless. A piece of paper isn’t going to stop that.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk. I have more to say but ehh this is long enough lol I’ll just ramble in tags

Not even close to US (and first worlder) internet users' worst crime but few things are more annoying to me than when people use the stupid fucking yanqui timezones system instead of UTC. "Pacific time" no one knows what that means. This literally only makes sense to your dumb country and we have a very fucking easy universal time count that is a good reference for people everywhere in the world. If you're specifying the timezone then obviously this is meant for people regardless of where they live so stop being so self centered for five seconds and use universal systems. Christ

Today in Fandom History: July 6
Fandom: Music
July 6th, 2020, country singer Charlie Daniels passed away at 83. Fun fact, the first country song I actually enjoyed was “Devil Went Down to Georgia” when it played while my parents were watching an ‘evolution of country music’ documentary. Also, I was seven or eight years old, and I became obsessed with a song about the devil. That’s all you have to know about me really.
Leading member of The Charlie Daniels Band, some of Daniels’ best songs besides Devil Went Down to Georgia include Simple Man (LOVE this song), Long Haired Country Boy (a classic), Drinking My Baby Goodbye, The Legend of Wooley Swamp, and Texas. He’s appeared in the films Urban Cowboy, Heartworn Highway, the television show Murder She Wrote, and numerous televised events including Austin City Limits. He’s been awarded a GMA Dove, a Pioneer award, and has both a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame and a star on the Music Walk of Fame.
Charlie Daniels is an ICONIC country musician who has fully cemented himself as a part of music history. May he rest in peace.
If you are interested in familiarizing yourself with classic country songs/stars, Charlie Daniels is definitely one you should hit. I’d start with Conway Twitty or Willie Nelson, the individual artists, and then work yourself up to full bands like the Charlie Daniels band. That or work yourself into the genre by listening to musicians who mix country with genres you already like. For example, rock lovers could start the transition with the Eagles, a band that phenomenally mixes the two.
